Bae and I had a music industry function in the hills behind this stretch of street. I saw this place was newish and had amazing reviews. The spot is a little hard to find which is OK but unusual for this relatively dowdy stretch of neighborhood where the raining cuisine is still, in 2024, red sauce italian(!) I love going to the Capri with friends during the holiday season but this was a wednesday night in July. It was literally empty when we walked in and it made Bae nervous but I'd read the reviews so I reassured her. Like the name indicates it's a Vietnamese restaurant that serves food tapas style. So Bae loved it, I'm not a huge fan of tapas period, not even in the basque country or Spain, but this is still a great restaurant and deserves support! I would go back for sure if I was back here in the area, maybe before a vidiots movie.

At Viet Tapas Bar, the foods are delicious, clean fine taste at reasonable price. You will enjoy the simplicity classy environment. Highly recommended.

Walked out when I saw that a 18% service charge was added on top and was not a gratuity. Just price the food appropriately.

Lovely little spot that was almost too easy to overlook. I'm glad we didn't! The food was rich yet subtle, with the favorite being the fish in a clay pot. The decor is minimal yet artistic. Excellent sake selection. We got four tapas plates, three glasses of sake and it came out to around $130.

Delicious food and unique flavors in a beautiful space!

We ate here for the first time tonight and thought the food was exceptional. In fact, we managed to wolf down the first two dishes before I got a chance to take pictures. In case you were wondering those dishes were: the Vietnamese salad with shitake and tofu. Shredded cabbage and vegetables along with shitake and some lightly fried tofu- dressing seemed to be a warm vinaigrette that greatly enhanced the flavor. The taro crispy spring rolls were also amazing, accompanied by fish sauce and mint, carrot and jicama condiments. For the picture I did take, that’s what we came here for. Turmeric Fish in clay pot did not disappoint- rice was fluffy on the top layer and crunchy on the bottom layer- so good! The whole meal was less than $70.

Great Vietnamese food in Eagle Rock! Love the traditional Vietnamese appetizers, elevated in quality and flavor, each made with the utmost care and precision! The clay pot with turmeric fish was my favorite with a great combo of textures and flavor with crispy burnt rice with tender Tumeric fish and picked carrot/radish! Definitely go, eat drink and be merry!

Viet Tapas Bar is a perfect addition to the Eagle Rock food scene. Relaxed, minimalist design, great friendly staff, and small plates of incredibly delicious food. Great versions of dishes some people will know and some that were new to me. I hope they are here forever.

Wonderful place! Great date spot. The select menu of 10-12 Vietnamese items, with some fine dining twists, was perfectly executed. The “beef leaves” (I called them😆) and the crispy rolls were very special items in my years of dining at Vietnamese spots. Lemongrass and Sake desert was a great finisher.

Great environment, food was exquisite and tasteful. Very clean place dine in was pleasant and service was good. Chef made good dishes tried everything on the menu.

Came here during the soft open and was blown away. Thoughtful dishes, gorgeous space, great service. So happy they’re in Eagle Rock.
