Food was ok.over done and came out in minutes. Must have been setting around. Also I was offended by the owner at the checkout wearing a mask. Protecting herself from her customers. Makes no sense!

One of the best breakfas/lunch spots ever. Over the decades I have come here, I have never been disappointed and the menu items and quality has been consistent. The only down side is that it can get very busy with a long wait to be seated. I always find it worth the wait.

I know Waffle Shop is a State College institution, but I always find their food to be mediocre. It's a traditional diner with lots of choices, but even their namesake item - Waffles - is just blah (soft and mushy). When I stick with standard eggs, toast, sausage, it's better. Be careful if you have issues with gluten though, since my husband got glutened there (he ordered an omelette instead of just eggs, so we suspect they might use batter to make the omelettes fluffier. Should have asked)

Amazing food and service and it’s a must to go on Sundays for brunch. The chocolate chip pancakes and crispy bacon is a must if anyone goes there.

The single most popular breakfast and brunch spot for miles. Great price and parking. Lines get long after 11:30AM. Largish menu with every item open to upgrades or substitutions. Bright and clean seating, with options for groups of 2, 4, 6 and occasional 8-12 if you can wait. Closes at 3PM, so if you like the same style of food, check out The Greek (same owners) for more good food. Free parking.

Great food and extremely fast service.

The service was good and quick despite being so busy. We got in quickly but I didn’t feel rushed throughout. The food was delicious as well! The only thing I had wished was different was more frequent server check ins, but it was so busy so I’m sure that is normally a non issue!

Everyone in our group enjoyed their delicious breakfast. Great service and good prices for excellent quality. Will definitely be back again!

The food is great. You will wait in line on special events and on weekends. I do not like that. We just get served our food and she’s already giving us our check making us feel like we had to hurry to get out.

The place was good tbh. The food was amazing but the sweetness of the waffles was not enough. Do u know what I mean? It can use more syrup but the syrup does not have enough sugar😭😭Mariah was a good server.

When you start charging for something that you normally don’t charge for, like extra hollandaise you should tell your customers before just slapping them with the bill. Now $1.60 doesn’t break the bank, but it’s a shock when you normally are not charged. Terrible customer service. And when I asked about it, a shoulder shrug is not the correct response. Been going for YEARS, but definitely will be re evaluating my Saturday morning breakfast spot from now on.

Best breakfast in state college

Great establishment. Quick breakfast and it was all outstanding. I had the greek omelette and plan to go back and get it again tomorrow. Suzi our waitress was funny and professional. Made the whole experience great! Thank you

Waffle and pancakes beyond describtion, a must go to if you're in State College.

Been coming here for over 20 years, still my #1 choice! The Original Waffle Shop on West College Ave has been a State College staple for me for as long as I can remember. They've consistently delivered delicious breakfasts and lunches for over two decades. Whether I'm back in town for a visit or just passing through, it's always my go-to spot. Highly recommend their sandwiches and their waffles (of course!), but everything on the menu is fantastic. Don't miss it! 5 stars!

Once again a great experience here! The place was packed but we were seated right away. We had a wonderful waitress that knew how to please her customers. Never had us waiting for drinks. Was there to give us a refill without us having to ask. The food was DELICIOUS! Plenty to choose from. Plenty of parking. The place was nice and clean. If you enjoyed your coffee, be sure to take a bag home as well. They sell their brand of coffee for you to enjoy later on.

It was ok. Food wasnt bad but definitely wasnt great. Steak had nothing to it and was a little over done. Toast was a little dark (and i specifically asked for lightly done). Waitress did well. Place isnt very flashy, but was clean even though they were busy

Great place for breakfast and lunch

Always love the breakfast here, you can't go wrong. I've never had a bad waitress here. The only complaint I have is the guy taking names for how many are in your party was really pushy trying to get everyone crowded together. With all the flu etc going around we don't need to stand on top of each other while we wait for a seat.

Fabulous place for breakfast. The line can get pretty long, but it moves relatively quickly. Great pancakes, potatoes, and all the usuals for a traditional breakfast. Not much wait during the week.

Best place for breakfast and reasonable. If there is a line, don't worry, it moves very quickly. It used to be cash only, but now they accept cards.

This is my absolute favorite breakfast place in State College. Our server Paige was attentive and efficient, we never had to ask for anything. They have lots of great options for both savory and sweet breakfast. They have fresh squeezed orange juice as well that is incredible. This place is packed more often than not, and the staff always works through the waiting line efficiently and with smiles. A trip to State College is never complete without a meal here! 📸: chocolate chip pancakes

I really wanted to love The Waffle Shop because it is so highly regarded. I judge breakfast places based on their ability to make a good over medium egg (jellied yolk, minimally runny but not completely cooked like over hard). I figure if you can't nail your egg orders, you have no business insisting that you specialize in breakfast. I've tried to order over medium at least half a dozen times and every time it comes out as over easy. Also their home fries are such a varied size (anything from small dices to entire halves of potatoes) that the uneven cooking makes them unpalatable. My family loves the sausage and waffles though, so we will likely keep returning. But definitely not on home game or psu event weekends. The wait then is ridiculous.

Okay, I now see why they have lines out the door on the weekends. The servers were swamped with people but still managed to be nice to us, and get our CORRECT meals out fast. I definitely have to come here more!

From entering to leaving, the service was seamless and perfect. Our server Stephen was so professional, so we gave him $5.5 as a tip. We’re from Korea where there is no tip culture but we were so satisfied with his service that we gladly gave the tip. One thing that I wished was that the seats were too hard so they could be some cushions. I have a sitting disorder so it was not comfortable.

This place is amazing and my favorite Waffle Shop in State College! I love the bar area here, which is where I usually sit and the food is top notch every single time! My nest egg today was delicious and the bar server I get almost every time I do polite and courteous!

We had a great meal and great service. Price points are nice too. Server kept our coffee and water filled. Very busy but our wait to be seated, for a party of 7, Sunday Morning @ 9:30am, was only 12 minutes.

Husband had eggs Florentine very good. I had the most delicious vegetable soup and club sandwich. Jacob was a great server. Got seated pretty readily for a Friday at 11:30. Coffee poured immediately and Didn't have to wait very long for food

Great place for breakfast And still is for years! It’s a MUST stop if you’re in Happy valley 😁 I love the pancakes here, waffles of course are good, and almost everything on the menu. Orange juice is freshly made here. Staff are very friendly and helpful Now you can pay with card here

Really good breakfast. I usually only visit once or twice a year but each time my expectation is always met. Whatever I expect the food to taste like is always on target. Glad TOWS has remained consistent over the years. This also includes service, pricing and quantity. Can't beat it. Best breakfast in State College.

Long line on Sunday morning. Only took 21 minutes to get seated. They have an incredible efficiency system. Great food!

I love the Waffle Shop every time I'm there! The food is just so good. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is decent in spite of how busy it gets. What I really want to know is how I get my hands on strawberries like theirs-- I don't know how, but they're always fantastic. I order a little bowl every time.

Love this place. All the food is good and they have plenty on our plate. The bacon is cut thick and was perfectly cooked. They have the standard breakfast offerings. It can be crowded esp on the weekends.

The food he was great! I got the waffle and it came out in a timely manner and was fresh and hot! The table was clean and the wait was not to long though I know it can get longer durring football season. Over all one of the best places I've eaten options for everyone and lovey staff! I go here all the time.

We had really good service that was extremely helpful for our toddler. The food was good, but nothing unique. We had a fairly long wait for both our table and our food, which my guess isn't anything that can be helped by the staff.

Our food was good, as always, but our server was TERRIBLE!!! Angela needs to find a way to make a living that does not require her to deal directly with people. Lacking people skills coupled with a horrible attitude makes for a terrible customer experience. Perhaps a zoo would be a better work environment for Angela.

Homemade pancakes and waffles with homemade butter. It's it not average industrial mass production junk food. Service is friendly and family-style. With a glance of the shop, you can tell it has been a go-to for the locals for decades.

I've been going to The Waffle Shop for 40 years and the food quality and service are always consistently excellent. John and Lisa and their staff have always done a fantastic job. I no longer live in the area but when I visit, a trip to the Waffle Shop is required.

The best place to get breakfast in Happy Valley. Everything is delicious, I personally love their Eggs Benedict & Omelettes, always with the home fries, gotta have the home fries. I also enjoy the lunch menu, their patty melt & onion rings are amazing. It's very busy but the turnover is always quick, even when the line is out the door we never wait for very long to be seated and then food usually gets to the table within 15-20 minutes of ordering. This staff moves like a well oiled machine.
