Place has gone down hill the food was (geschmacklos) tasteless. Sloppy presentation. Charge 55cents for one tiny Pretzel roll and charged for a refill on tea after the waitress said no charge on refills. Also gave me empty hot sauce...A dirty looking bottle. All the booths are ripped up and uncomfortable.

This is still an amazing place to visit! The service and quality are outstanding! I can't wait for Oktoberfest!

Every dish was perfect and reasonably priced with generous portions. Abby was so attentive to our large party, and Thomas personally brought out our Black Forest Birthday cake and sang with us. We were never rushed and especially enjoyed our after dinner drinks. Try the BLACK FOREST: Kahlua, Bailey's and Chambord.

The pork schnitzel, red cabbage, and spatzle were delicious. The lite appetite portion was perfect. I enjoyed the German beer on tap.

We are in transit from New York to Miami. After a week of fast food, we had an appetite for German food. The Swabian sausage platter tasted delicious. Bratwurst like in Germany. The Wiener Schnitzel also tasted great. The service spoke perfect German and was super nice.

This is a fun place to visit and the food is a delicious tour of Germany. If you have the beef stroganoff you will get to enjoy a very decent homecooked-like experience on the palette with spatzel for noodles. I recommend the weiner schnitzel, a most excellent example of the very name of the dish. And BTW, every one of their sausages is absolutely delicious, I mean absolutely!! Are you hungry yet??? It's also an adorable restaurant and there really isn't anything bad I can say about it, them or even the prices. It's almost like you went on vacation. I've not sampled their beers, although I imagine they have "it" (what satisfies that other palette). And BTW, it's very clean, something I definitely appreciate

We recommend this seemingly authentic German Restaurant. Our server was lovely and we quite enjoyed the atmosphere in this busy place. We started with potato pancakes which were just ok. For our entree we split their Sampler which was good.

The food was fantastic. The bartender was my server, and he was extremely helpful as I had never had German food before. For the prices you also get plenty to eat. Would definitely recommend going here.

The smoked trout was terrible and it was supposed to have a horseradish sauce just tasted like whipped cream. the yeagerschnitzer was very good and the red cabbage. For a Friday night there used to be a man playing the accordion but not this day.

Amazing!!! If you are anywhere near Charlotte you MUST eat here! The food is authentic German food, just like my grandma used to make! It shows that the owners really care about the quality of the food and the experience that the customers have! You absolutely should go!!!

We were fortunate to find this wonderful German restaurant a few years ago during our “snowbird migration” back to New England. The food was so delicious, the German beer—that goes without saying—and the wait staff was attentive & courteous. What more would you expect from a dining experience? Because we had such an enjoyable time, we now tailor our trip-to and from-New England so that we are able to enjoy The Waldhorn going both ways taking into consideration that they are closed on Mondays If you enjoy German food, you will leave this place with a smile on your face and—they have an active Beer Club as well.

Haven't been here in decades. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had a very large group for a birthday party and they handled all of us very well. I saw several dishes that I want to try the next time I go.

First visit to Waldhorn was a success. Food was tasty, authentic feel to the location, however a little dingy. Service was good and the menus were in English and German. 👌🏽

Love this place! We have been many times but this trip we had the Waldhorn salad, pretzel dip appetizer and Jager schnitzel entree. It’s a bummer that they are not giving pretzel rolls for free anymore, but it’s still worth the money to get an appetizer or pay for a few rolls. They are so good! It is a little pricey, but worth it and we always have enough for another meal for takeout. It can be a bit loud when it is crowded due to high ceilings and not much sound insulation, but it is very nicely decorated in a German theme. Some nights there is an accordion player as well.

The food here is delicious and authentic. Prices are a touch on the high side, but there are not many options for authentic German food in the area. I am partial to the Jägerschnitzel with a side order of bread dumplings. The restaurant feels like you are back in Germany, with exposed wood beams and mortar/plaster walls. Well worth a visit. It does get rather crowded during Octoberfest, so be aware of that.

Had the excellent Schweineschnitzel and apfelstrudel. The dinner portions are generous. Casual, comfortable tables and nice, clean, decor in a beautiful, light-filled dining area. The friendly manager stopped by to check on our dining experience. Lots of free parking and seating available. Will be back!

The duck was fantastic. It's a struggle to find anywhere in the Charlotte area that does duck well. The beer was top class. I was skeptical, but it's worth the hype!! Very good atmosphere.

I should have taken more and better pictures. But everything here is just perfect and amazing, the appetizers/bar type food, the dinners, the drinks... I've been to a lot of German restaurants, this is the best. And the atmosphere inside is amazing too. My mom got a salad, and I wasn't sure how that'd be but even that was perfect. I can't wait to come back.

Coming from an army brat who grew up on base in Germany, this was an amazing experience! Our server was very helpful and attentive. We had reservations for 9 and we were seated promptly. The dining room is a bit loud but it is filled with customers so I understand. The food is absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh and made to order. The food is decently priced as well as the drinks. We will definitely be making another visit in the near future!

This has to be one of the best kept secrets in the Charlotte Metro area as far as restaurants go. This is probably the best German food I've ever had. All the employees are very nice and knowledgeable, take pride in the food and service they provide. It's also great for authentic German beer, served the right way. Recently joined the Beer Club, and despite it being a nearly 30 minutes treck each time you go there, it's well worth it.

Nothing pulls at my heart strings more than a German restaurant serving quality, authentic food. These folks were great. The food was excellent, staff was pleasant, and they even checked on us twice to see how we were enjoying the meal. And they have a dark Hefeweisen! Highly recommend! We will be back.

Used to be my #1 favorite restaurant. Would go to the Sunday brunch buffet whenever I could. Haven't been back since it ended. I keep checking website but looks like it's never coming back. What a shame. However, have found an Indian buffet and Chinese buffet to replace it with and go weekly.

Probably the best German food that I have had in the states. The service was prompt and friendly and the interior and exterior of the building are both beautiful.

Every time I've been here it has been phenomenal with the service and food. Of course the German restaurant decor is awesome. I always get the jägerschnitzel and my husband gets the duck or schnitzel. The red cabbage and späetzel is delish. The bread dumplings are fantastic. They always serve pretzel bread rolls as an app.

The food here is always fresh and made to order. Very authentic German food. The salad is very similar to what you would get in Bavaria. I highly recommend the Waldhorn. Great food! It's a authentic German atmosphere that brings up wonderful memories from when I lived there. My husband and I went again last night. Tuesday we get discounts since we're part of the Beer Club. We loved having a wide selection of German beer and I had the Weiner schnitzel and my husband had the sauerbraten. We don't eat pork and these are our favorite dishes. The apple strudel is delicious! Server Ethan was great! He was professional and personable and gave us wonderful service. One of the owners of the restaurant told us thank you for coming. It was another fantastic experience at the Waldhorn.

Went there yesterday with my wife for Valentines Day, we had a 5:15 reservation. When we arrived they checked the reservation and told us to have a seat on the bench. Shortly another couple came in with a reservation and they seated them. Then a couple came in without a reservation and they seated them. I asked what's going on and they said they did not want to overload the server. We finally had dinner and there was a lot of food but I thought the quality was somewhat lacking. My wife ordered a piece of Red Velvet Cake to go. When we had the Red Velvet Cake at home there was no cream cheese icing to be found, they replaced it with whipped cream. All I can say is disappointing from beginning to end.

I’ve been here three times previously, but it had been 8-9 years since I had last been. None of my current friends had been before, and I wanted to celebrate my birthday here. I called in advance to make reservations and asked for a booth for six people, which they said they had. When we got there, they sat us at two small tables pushed together, in the very back of the restaurant by a very cold and drafty area…not the big booth we made reservations for (that we had to walk past). A few of the items were good, but some were mediocre at best, and the service was very, very slow. I feel ashamed that I hyped this place up to my friends to get them excited about it. It was nothing like it used to be. :(

This place is amazing. The stroganoff blew me away. I love the vibe. Also, I recently bought a whole black forest cake. It was a good price, it was fresh, and they wrote happy birthday on it for me. Best black forest cake I've ever had. I don't even like black forest cake.

Went with a large party for a family celebration. It was set up well and everything was ready. Drink orders were filled quickly and servers were very attentive. The menu had good selection (I'm no German food aficionado). Food orders for all 20 people was taken at once off a special menu. Orders were out surprisingly quickly. Everything was hot and tasted ok. A little bland. I think it was not made-to-order. Overall it was a good experience, but probably not going back. I've lived in the area for 20 years. This is the second time I have been there.

If you're tired of the same old American food, then you need to come here for some Authentic German dishes. The food is excellent, and they have German beers as well. Great food and excellent service in this family run authentic restaurant.

Really tasty food. I think there could be a little more attention to detail on the plate to make it feel like you are getting a German Treat but then again the Germans are not known for their flair. Solid German meal.

Took a friend here for his birthday. Food was excellent and our server (Penny) was terrific. We had been here several times before for the wonderful Sunday brunch, but this was our first dinner experience. Definitely will return.

The most adorable restaurant and wonderful food! Our kids loved trying things they normally wouldn't get the chance to at an average place we usually go. The staff was excellent from the bartenders helping us pick the right beer, to the funny hostess making jokes while we waited and then our waitress was a super nice young lady. Would 10/10 recommend. (we went straight from the soccer field on a frigid/rainy day so we were not dressed up and didn't feel out of place.)

Delicious meal and a very pleasant server! There were 7 of us for dinner. All of our meals were correct and everyone enjoyed their dish. The photo is of the Pork Schnitzel with Red Cabbage and Spaetzle. I can't recall the name of the dessert, but it was topped with almonds and had Bavarian cream. It was amazing! The beer was also great. A definite must if you are in the Pineville area.

This is a German-themed restaurant and my father lived in Germany for a while. They were very kind, and very genuine (the waiter even spoke German) and the food was very good. We came late and even past closing time and they were still great. The owner even came over and talked to us.

I’ve eaten my fair share of schnitzel, here in the states and across the pond in Germany and Waldhorn did not disappoint! Had the jagerschnitzel which was well prepared and a large portion with a double schnitzel. Loved the spatzle and cabbage on the side. Others in my group had the Sauerbraten and wurst plate and loved them. Server was young and new, but performed admirably and rectified all issues with amicable grace and very quickly. Highly recommend!

Great authentic German food, nice portions and lots of beers to choose from as well. Can't really go wrong with any dish, but tend to gravitate toward the Jaegerschnitzel.

Server was attentive and kind. The place was buzzing inside and a group waiting to be seated. This was on a Monday evening. I had the waldhorn salad so so that I can sample the German potato salad and the other sides and also enjoy a simple mixed green salad with house vinegret. The main entree was Jager schnitzel which was two flattened pork fillets that were breaded with brown sauce with mushrooms and a side of purple cabbage that had an apple taste. I think they put apples in it but it was delicious, especially as a compliment to the pork fillets. I also had a side of German style noodles that come with the entree. They looked and seem to be housemate. The entire plate complimented each other and I was very satisfied with the meal I was stuffed, but I couldn't resist the urge to ask about desserts which were on special along with some menu item desserts. I went for the special which was carrot cake and cheesecake for this particular night, both of which were in-house scratch baked. The carrot cake was absolutely divine. It was moist just the right amount of sweetness and the cream cheese frosting was a great compliment. Hat off to all the chefs in the house. I wanted to give compliments to the owner of the restaurant which was walking around in the house which is rare to see. Thank you for the great service and the great food. I'll definitely be back.
