Took too long to get food while on a lunch break. After watching others who arrived after us get served and leave waiter wanted to know if we wanted our order to go. We told him we came to eat in the restaurant. Waiter was nice and not sure this flop was on him.

Redfish is off the hook- good. Neat atmosphere. This is where you go to celebrate a special occasion. Portabella fries are so good it’s hard to believe.

My first visit in quite a while. I'm glad to report that it is still as good as ever. A bit crowded and noisy, but in the best restaurant in Jackson, crowds should be expected. They have a big and skilled waitstaff, so service was fast and pleasant. I had the daily special, the catfish plate, which was excellent and a real bargain. A most pleasant experience.

We are never disappointed when we dine at Walker's. Our table was ready at our reservation time and our server was fast, efficient, and friendly. Our cocktails came out quickly. I ordered a espresso martini and it was delicious. The food came out nice and hot. Everything was delicious. This restaurant is a gem and a must try when in Jackson.

Best food experience we have ever had!! We tried some of everything and the food was AMAZING!!! The staff was professional and informative of every dish that came out and we never waited for anything. The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable! We would love to come back next time we are in the area!

Wish I could give this place zero stars. Thought everything was going well, until it wasn't. Rude staff member( our server) came to our table to say if my kids could turn down the phone that was already on a very low setting as we were in a restaurant with everyone around us talking very loud, almost screaming amongst each other and cackling very loudly. My kids were the quieter ones in the entire place. This restaurant is not child friendly even tho it claims to be. THEY never went to another table and told them to quiet down just us, THE ONLY BLACK FAMILY IN THERE AND THE ONLY BLACK PEOPLE AND ON JUNETEENTH. WAS NOT TODAY, NOT ANY DAY.. DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE IF YOU HAVE KIDS AND BLACK,. I never do these kinds of reviews but you've been warned. Also the food was very bland and basic. I have had better red fish and better shrimp and service at half shell, longhorn etc and have never been told to turn down anything even when I felt like they( kids) were a little loud. We're a small quiet family they are well behaved and I always make sure that they are respectful of others. This place is just plain RUDE and NOT WORTH GOING TO. NEVER EVER AGAIN. RUDE RUDE RUDE and absolutely disgusting food. I lost whatever appetite I had after those rude customers and rude staff members interactions. S/n forgot to mention there was one other black couple that walked in and didn't stay 30 mins. The vibe just probably wasn't right for them. Also save yourself a few bucks and just go to Half Shell Oyster House food is better, service is better and they actually are family friendly and not perpetuating like this place. This place is to small and cramped. I might be against building code, because the tables are almost on top of each other There's barely room to walk around. I felt squished. Very uncomfortable seating and atmosphere.

Best restaurant in Jackson by far!

Blue plate lunch was very good- smothered pork chops, mashed potatoes, zucchini, etc. The cream brûlée was so delicious- highly recommend. Service was excellent and food served very quickly. Better come early as it gets busy 11:30 and later. 😋😎

Our waiter Kaycee (Spelling may be incorrect) we took our kids out for dinner after their graduation. Our waiter absolutely conjured non alcoholic drink that fit the atmosphere and the Intent of the celebration. We loved the atmosphere, the service and the food was authentic, flavorful and made with the welcoming southern hospitality. Absolutely will recommend and will visit again. Thank you for a great experience that balances service and product.

I have ate here several times. Every time I am in Jackson I stop by here. This is my first time getting lunch. The lunch special was meatloaf and it was great! Food came out super fast and service is incredible!

We found this place through a Google search when traveling through Jackson. The ambiance is really cool. I had the veal and lobster and my wife had the redfish Anna. Both meals were outstanding. Finally, the service was outstanding.

Excellent meal in a cute neighborhood. Stopping in from out of town this place was recommended by multiple people. Definitely a little fancier than the Drive In name suggests but stunningly delicious food. The quality of the ingredients was clear even in something as simple as the caesar salad: I don’t think I’ve had better parmesan cheese even on a trip to Italy. The filet was 46$, for that price I want to be served a memory to look back on; I absolutely got it. Don’t miss the fried pie. It will take you back to a southern childhood even if you didn’t have one.

I've always heard incredible things about Walkers and had been wanting to try it for awhile, and I'm SO glad I did. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is even better! The fried lobster skewers were so tasty - I seriously wanted to order 5 more servings. Then, I had the wood grilled bone-in special. It was 22 oz, and I didn't think I would be able to eat it all, but it was so good I couldn't resist! I ate every piece of it, and still somehow had room for dessert. I tried their fried pie of the day which was some sort of mixed berry empanada with a vanilla glaze and sweet cream ice cream - SO SO GOOD! I'll definitely be back.

We have been here for dinner several times and the last visit showed a marked decline in service and food quality. Service was slow. It took a long time for our server to take orders - first took drink orders, disappeared, then apps ordered, disappeared, etc. when she finally took out mains orders, she didn’t bother to stick around to ask if we wanted sides (we did). it took even longer for the kitchen to send food out. We were not offered bread despite it taking so long for our food to come out. The crab cakes continue to be excellent. The strawberry beet salad had almost no beets. The seared foie gras tasted good but still has the membranes so was stringy. The bread pudding, which has always been excellent, was a chewy brick this time. I hope this visit was an aberration.

Very knowledgeable server. Love the special options. We had a scallops feature that blew my socks off. Dining at walkers is an "experience" that you don't get everywhere and I appreciate that it's available to everyone by offering reasonable prices. One of the best eateries in central MS.

The fried mushrooms are exquisite. The Kosher fish options were awesome. Seating is very tight. A quaint wholesome romantic environment.

I would give 6 out of 5 if that was an option. This is honestly my favorite restaurant in the country. We’ve lived all over and I haven’t had a dish anywhere that’s as unique and delicious as the “everything crusted tuna” here. So good. We’ve tried several different dishes over the years, and everything is consistently great. If the softshell crab is ever on the menu that is a must try. I’m hungry after writing this review

If you ever get the chance to eat the hanger steak at this fantastic restaurant, I highly recommend that you do. There are many other fine dishes and sides The service, vibe, food, atmosphere was all on point. Pricey, but worth it.

Everything was good, quality food. The burger was cooked to flavor. The crab cake was $28 but it was quality crab so I can see where it’s fit. Only thing, it’s a smaller space & they filled it to the max. So, just be aware it is a little crowed.

We go to Destin FL every year for a vacation. Jackson is exactly half way from AR. We stumbled apon this place last year and had some of the best food we have ever eaten! This year instead of flying we drove again to go eat here. They did not disappoint. The fried oysters were amazing, the veal and lobster kathy, Omg. I got the filet that was aged 45 day, it was perfect. And desserts, just wow. This place is a must of you are anywhere close.

Went here to celebrate my wife's birthday. The soft shell crabs were outstanding. Here filet was cooked just the way she likes it. Don't let Drive In fool you- this is fine dining at its best.

In the old days Walker,s was a dive drivein, grab a beer place. Now it looks like a dive but has food to die for. Better get reservations especially when the legislature is in session. Redfish Anna is a don’t miss. On my 4th anniversary of my first date with spouse at Walker’s I’m updating. Redfish Anna is still on menu and remains a killer, veal and lobster was super, onion ring appetizer was great also.

When we go dine somewhere nice, this is where we go. Everything is DELICIOUS. Nantucket Scallops as an appetizer. Smooth buttery beautiful taste. Redfish Anna is my go to. My husband usually gets the Wagyu Hanger Steak. This time we got the specials, Japanese A5 Wagyu and the Swordfish. Service was fantastic. Got an excellent paired wine. Never felt rushed. Such a great atmosphere.

We have been regularly going here for years. Especially for special days. Today we got the Valentines special. We picked the Redfish Anna and Beef short Rib for our entrees. Unfortunately they were not up to our expectations as prior times was much better. Redfish had a strong taste (definitely not normal). Short rib was not much more than roast beef out of a crockpot. I would say just average at best. Prior times it was 5 star. This time it just wasn’t up to the standard that Walkers has got is to expect. Crab cake and tamale appetizers were good. We really like this place and hope to return and food goes back to the standards they have always been.

Fast, super friendly service. Delicious po' boy with fried oysters! The fried portobello mushrooms and fried green tomatoes were very tasty as well. Not fancy, but really good food served fast.

Mary was our server and she was amazing! I took my 3yo and we had the lobster skewers, the flounder, shrimp and feta risotto, and heath bar tiramisu. It was my first time and it was the best fish dish I've ever had. We will be returning! And we will ask for Mary.

The appetizers were delicious. The mains were fine. The sides were bleh. It was cold and dark. I saw the assistant’s underwear a few too many times. They took my food away to box it up and never brought it back. It was fine. I was really hoping for more, so maybe my expectations were disappointed but my husband enjoyed it. Definitely not rushing to go back but it’s not on the never again list

This is definitely not what the name suggests. We were expecting burgers, fries and shakes and instead were treated to possibly one of the best casual upscale meals ever, and most certainly the best in Jackson. They provide high-end Southern dining with creative twists, all in a laid back and friendly atmosphere. Ok, maybe the latter is to be expected in Jackson but it was still a great experience in hospitality worth calling out. They are known for their steaks and the server was very knowledgeable about each cut, down to the marbling score. I definitely was not disappointed with my veal chop, it was cooked to perfection and everything else was just as exceptional. We started with generous servings of the portobello mushroom fries in a spicy, creamy dipping sauce and a most savory pork belly with biscuits and jam. The moist, tender tamales were quite flavorful as well. The desserts and wine/cocktail selection were not to be outdone either. My Malbec paired well with my steak, not buckling from the hearty cut. We also enjoyed every bite of our brownie a la mode, simple but not lacking in any way. This has to be on your must try list if you're in Jackson, really special.

This was the best restaurant we visited in Jackson hands down. Eventhough the place was packed, we were served timely and the food was outstanding!

Surprising delight in the middle of a semi sketchy neighborhood. Walked in to an old fashioned looking diner to find a floor full of business-class patrons. The female server was friendly and with suggestions that we seemed to trust her with. We got the cobb salad and the tamale meal. The salad was beautifully laid out and the tamales as well. Both were tasty, although the tamales could have been more so (just our opinions). Sweet tea is southern sweet-mm! The ambience is quite nice with the noise level in a rather small space quite tolerable. The bathrooms are super clean (incl along the walls and corners), which always factors in to the overall experience for us. (If the bathrooms are filthy, maybe the kitchen, that you can’t see, is, too?) When we travel through Jackson next time, we’ll be back. Thanks to all who make this place great!

Excellent food and service from Jennifer's team. The red fish with lump crab was amazing! Wonderful flavors cooked right, incredible sauce and smooth mashed potatoes. The red snapper with mushrooms and capers was also a real treat. Alex was a pleasure to deal with and provided excellent, friendly service while answering questions and making suggestions. Then to top it all off we delighted in the Mississippi peach fried pie, dusted with cinnamon and sugar served with a vanilla bean ice cream and white chocolate sauce. It was absolute heaven. Crisp and clean flavor. Not overly sweet or oily tasting. Sheer perfection. You cannot go wrong dining at Walker’s Drive-In and which is why you probably need a reservation!

Absolutely thrilled and surprised that this kind of quality is sitting right there in the Fondren section of Jackson! I live in New York and have traveled all over Europe...and honestly you can't get much better. Everything I ordered was superb. I went back twice on my recent visit home to Mississippi... The city should commend you for bringing such excellence to town!

As advised by a local, this is one of the best restaurants of Jackson. And indeed, star quality, high class. If you fancy a high class meal, go here. Reservation advised, we saw several people been turned away because they didn't book in advance and the waiting time would be an hour and a half...

It is such a wonderful place to eat, the staff was very attentive, and the food was incredible. I recommend the hanger steak with Parmesan fries—-wowwwww!!

I have passed by this place for years and never went in. Glad I did. We only got dessert but I will be going back to dine with then for lunch or dinner. I had diner there last week. There was sudden, pouring rain that evening, and I arrived completely drenched. The staff did not flinch, seated me graciously and I had the red fish specialty that was beyond good. (Since I had my luggage with me, I changed in the bathroom, and except for my hair, I was a bit more presentable). So amazing team, delicious food and great atmosphere. Good on all fronts! Visited for a conference-type meeting. The meeting area has a lot of street noise if something is going on in the Fondren area. But the room was aesthetically pleasing and the food was excellent!

I usually adore Walkers, but I'm noticing changes in food quality and an influx in pricing so not my"go to" spot for lunch like it used to be...made me sad today.

Wonderful dinner, great service & excellent food!! Highly recommend eating at Walker’s Drive and make reservations if you can! We started with 2 appetizers: calamari & oysters - both were great choices! They have an extensive wine list as well! The Redfish Anna was highly recommended on TripAdvisor as well as by our waitress and it didn’t disappoint- perfectly cooked fish with a fantastic sauce! I had the veal and lobster over risotto which was also a great dish! Our friends had the Reddish as well and the scallops which had a wonderful sear on them. The desserts were also wonderful - we had the brownie and the fried pie with peanut butter & strawberry filling (which changes weekly we were told). We will definitely dine here again if we are in the area!!

Everything from the menu, flavor, to service is exceptional at Wallker's. The salads, blue plates, and sandwiches were all wonderful in our party. Service was quick even though they were really busy. And flavor of the food was just outstanding.

We enjoyed our lunch there. I had the fried green tomatoe BLT and my son had the chicken strips. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is smallish but has a large outdoor dining area (for a place this size). Totally enjoyed our meals and would go back!

This place checked all the boxes when it comes to service, flavor and experience. We accidentally found this restaurant due to needing a late night dining option. It was past their hours of operation, but they stayed open. We started with the calamari and it was the best I’ve ever had. I consider myself a connoisseur, so I don’t take this endorsement lightly. The Crab, Artichoke & Parmesan Crusted "Gigged" Flounder was amazing! Pan Roasted American Red Snapper was amazing. My wife ordered it, but I had to try it! We shared the White truffle risotto and it was amazing! We came back the next night and I decided to try the 8 oz filet. It was the best I ever had. The only regret I have is that I don’t live closer to this restaurant. I would come twice a week minimum.
