All the food was great you a lot of food

Found this place through Google maps while on our first visit to New Orleans. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Wow! It was wonderful from the moment we walked in. The gals at the counter were friendly and helpful. I had the French dip and my husband tried the muffuletta. Both sandwiches were fantastic. Would highly recommend this place. We might go back another time before we leave. :)

The staff were extremely sweet and helpful. My husband and I couldn't choose what we wanted, so we split a turkey sandwich with provolone and one of the daily specials - cheese tortellini with a marinara sauce full of beef, sausage, and pepperoni, topped with plenty of parmesan and garlic bread on the side. To die for! We each got a watermelon lemonade from the specials, as well. It was all so delicious and satisfying. We will definitely be coming back!

A hidden gem located within the food court of Place St. Charles which doesn't do enough to advertise itself to passers-by. My wife and I only found this place through Google maps and are so happy we did - this will become a regular stop for us on trips to New Orleans. We enjoyed a turkey sandwich, which was stacked high, and the cheese tortellini special, which was better than Italian restaurants we've visited locally. The watermelon lemonade was fresh and refills were provided. The staff are kind and super helpful. The only downside is that it isn't open for longer! A definite recommend to those looking for a delicious, filling lunch.

I love their salads and famous muffaletta. Also the staff is very friendly and great at making recommendations.

Hands down the best muffaletta I've ever had. Owner recommended the crawfish chowder and it did not disappoint. Great food. Authentic. In a food court so plenty of room.

The Reuben was amazing. It's really big and delicious. They also have a variety of flavored teas (including unsweetened)

First time going here. Got a turkey sandwich and was wondering why it was so dry and no sauces added. When I finished and went to throw out my trash, I found a counter around the corner full of sauces and salsas to choose from. We were never told, and so the sandwich was extremely dry and boring.

Unfortunately there’s no zero stars available. I called two times to inquire information about the menu, prices and services. The lady who picked up the phone was SO RUDE. screaming and said “I’ve been doing this a long time ago and you’re a scam. Don’t call me again” Excuse me?! I just hang up! She just missed out on a 22 people order. Terrible customer service experience

Fantastic. Hidden gem. Don't shy away from this place because it's tucked away in a food court, in fact go there for this reason. It has tons of seating, including a balcony. The perfect place to get an amazing sandwich away from the crowds. Tried the curry chicken salad sandwich and the French dip, highly recommend both.

Really solid sandwiches and good service. Prices ok. A bit hidden but glad I found it.

Location is inside a mall/office building on second floor. Really enjoyed talking with the owner and sister. Muffaletta and gumbo were super tasty!

Stayed at a nearby hotel off Canal and wanted to pick up some sandwiches. Found in an office building, second floor, so not visible, and atmosphere more like a food court, BUT WOW! The service was great the sandwiches were huge and delicious! Stacked high corned beef, tuna salad, mufalatta, fresh cut fruit and salads! They do a lot of catering too! Would go back next time in NOLA!

We did an overnight in New Orleans before returning home to Illinois, specifically for the food. NOLA never disappoints on dining experiences ❤️ I had promised my husband (a chef) that I would return with the best muffaletta New Orleans had to offer. Welty's did not disappoint. After making a very disappointing stop at another deli, I knew I had to find something impressive for the hubby. So I went to Welty's. Google maps confused me a bit on the location as it is on the second story of a shopping center, not a street facing storefront. It was totally worth the ride up the escalator to get there, though, as the sandwich was killer! I explained that I would be traveling on I55 for a 12 hr trek, and they packaged me up for the road without missing a beat. The staff was phenomenal and super friendly. We will definitely be stopping in again next time we find ourselves in The Big Easy. I would have shared a better picture, but the hubby got right into it before I could take one🤣

We had the French Dip the best I've ever had. Wish I'd taken a picture. Portions are very generous, my husband and I split it. We're from Maine or we would be there often. The owner was so nice and so very pleasant. Can't wait to go back to NOLA⚜️👍👍

Incredible. 10/10 portions, price, TASTE, good golly this place literally has EVERYTHING. The patio also looks amazing But it’s too hot for that today. If you are a sauce queen, love a salty bite, and enjoy some hospitality, you have to go. You just have to. I got the French dip with sweet tea and slaw. My baby got a the smoked salmon on an everything bagel.

Their new location @ 201 Saint Charles Avenue is beautiful. They are located on the second floor. Nice to touch base with Tina again.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING its definitely a hidden gem in its location but it's one of the best sandwiches i have ever had!

This place is great. It’s on the second floor of a plaza up the escalators. All sorts of sandwiches and salads. Chicken salad sandwich was amazing. Get a sandwich and hang out on the balcony. Don’t miss the pickle bar. Friendly and funny family run spot!

Love the toasted multigrain with tuna salad. Add a few sprouts and lettuce and tomato. Now that a good sandwich. And they know how to pile on the tuna.

This deli was recommended by a coworker and it is everything he said. The chicken salad is as good as he said it would be! It’s not overly mayo’d and the multigrain bread stands up and makes this a great sandwich. This is a fantastic lunch spot. The lady’s at the counter are everything you want to experience while visiting New Orleans. All the southern hospitality you can want! Enjoy, honey!

This was very nice place to eat, the staff was very friendly I enjoyed the food, stuffed miriltron soup with ham and shrimp served with 1/2 sandwich. Next time I’m in New Orleans I’ll return.

Food was amazing! Muffuletta sandwich was delicious along with the seasoned wedges and French dip sandwich. The owner of the deli was very friendly and welcoming. Do yourself a favor and check this place out…you won’t be sorry you did!

Amazing potato salad and great sandwhiches. You can eat them there or on a balcony of the food court. Very local, we seemed to be the only tourists. It is in the food court of a mall.

Fantastic spot! We stopped in for lunch and it's the best food we've had in New Orleans all week. The service is fast and really friendly, and the entire space is very clean. They were so incredibly kind to our dog as well. Highly recommend!

Great Muffaletta and very friendly staff!

Highly recommended. Local secret. Not on street - on 2nd floor of office high rise. Muffuletta - earned top 10 in city - crazy good - and enough for 2. Chicken curry salad - top class. I was one of only a few tourists they get - packed with hungry regulars it was. Go for it!

Listen, I’m guessing you probably got here like I did: You’re from out of town but freaking hungry and you want a sandwich. You’ve searched “sandwiches” in Google maps and found the first one within walking distance with five stars. If you’re a sandwich lover, you’ve just made the best decision of your stay in NOLA. Don’t be discouraged if the entrance isn’t obvious. Yes, it’s on the second floor of an office building, in like a food court. But the office building is real modern and super nice, and being inside is a nice break from the street. In line I was getting excited. I could see and smell the food and it was torture waiting the 3-4 minutes it took to get through 5-6 customers in line in front of us. A lady behind us heard me talking about my barely contained anticipation and assured me I had made the best possible choice. I’m that guy - especially when it comes to sandwiches - so I always ask. What’s popular? What do you like? A woman behind the counter, the owner I guess, I don’t know her name (Welty? 🤷🏻‍♂️) so I’ll just call her SweetnSassy, overheard and gave me a rundown of her hot sellers. Confirmed for me that the French Dip was what I wanted. SweetnSassy was a doll and asked us where we were from. I said, “Is it so obvious we’re not from NOLA?” and she popped back with “Sweetie if you were from NOLA, this wouldn’t be your first time at MY restaurant.” 😂 She was right. I’m only here a couple days but I’m going back. This damn French Dip sandwich SLAPPED. It was easily the best one I’ve ever had I’ve ever had, and I know what the heck I’m talking about. Not only was the food 🔥, but she had every conceivable sauce or condiment you could want on a tray next to the tables. You did good, fellow sandwich soul. You found your favorite spot in the city. Now go pay the lady and then come back and write her a better review than this one.

Owner is super nice. We were told by a local to hit this place up. Their on the second floor of the building, they just moved not long ago. Their food is SLAMMIN' we got a hot muffalata and it was perfection. Best sandwich of the trip by far

Welty's is a little hard to find but worth the effort! I was wanting a real Muffuletta sandwich and saw that Welty's served them. They know how to do it right! The sandwich was full of salami, ham, cheese, and the olive topping was perfect! I got a half-sandwich with a salad, which was more than enough for me, and I really like to eat! I will definitely go back to Welty's on my next visit to New Orleans!

This was the first muffuletta I’ve ever had and it was amazing! Honestly never had anything like it. Really appreciated the friendliness and service of the staff, it felt good to support a family owned restaurant.

My wife and I were looking for a deli and lucked out by finding this place. It's in the food court on the second floor of an office building. The food and service is fantastic! We ended up going back a second day in a row before heading to the airport. If I worked in this building, I'd be eating here everyday. We'll definitely be coming back when back in town.

What service and great food!! Welty's was highly rated and close to the WW2 museum so it matched all our needs. We arrived less than 40 minutes to closing and got the best service. Menu, specials, sides and drinks were explained. The muffaletta was HUGE, delicious and was also our dinner it was so much good food. The dipped sandwich was also wonderful. The breads, meats and service were the best we've had in the city. The staff checked on us several times, chatted and were super friendly to all the patrons. Even when we left and someone was coming in with just minutes to closing they were helping her with same courtesy. 5 5 stars PLUS..

Very happy we chanced upon Welty’s for lunch! The food is delicious, plentiful and served quickly. The owner is wonderful. A new favorite!

This place has the best sandwiches. I had to go back the second day for the pastrami sandwhich. New Local ..small business owner... woman owner... just great food from sandwiches to salads to lasagna..soups . Go check it out
