(Read till the end for a fun rant) Fast food? More like slow food. Unbelievably slow service, especially through the drive-thru. If you see more than three cars in the drive-thru lane, don't even bother. You'll be waiting 20 minutes or more just to place your order (this is no exaggeration). All of the Bangor area Wendy's seem to suffer from poor management. Restaurant cleanliness and service are atrocious. My wife and I waited 45 total minutes in the drive-thru and we were behind five cars. Nine minutes per car! Let's play a game! What things can you do in the time it takes to get food through the Wendy's drive-thru? *Arrive at the dentist, check in, get a filling, check out. *Watch an entire episode of whatever terrible Star War TV show Disney has produced most recently. *Arrive at Chic-Fil-A, place an order, sit down, eat at a relaxed pace, and leave feeling fulfilled. *Take a nap long enough to ruin your sleep that night. *Play a game of 7 Wonders (great game). *Peruse the Netflix catalog long enough to realize it isn't worth its subscription price. *Drive to the Penobscot Narrows Bridge from this Wendy's and obey all speed and traffic laws. *Prepare and consume a homemade hamburger and clean up after. Consume less calories and feel better. And the service was better because it was you! *Do an entire workout. Burn less calories than you consumed at Wendy's. *Apply for a job at Wendy's and have immediate regrets. *Blink 675 times on average. *Contemplate your life decisions that lead you to a Wendy's with service this slow, vow to make changes, leave said Wendy's, and arrive at McDonald's next door. I should've left when I saw the ceiling was covered in mold, but my partner and I stayed since we'd already ordered our food. I got a grilled chicken wrap, he got a chicken sandwich. The chicken in the wrap was dry, full of gristle, and tasted odd. When I looked at it, it was slightly green. We decided to leave without finishing because we both started feeling sick. For what it's worth, though, there was lots of natural light in the building, which was nice.

Absolutely horrific, don’t even need to go to the Waterfront to see tweakers anymore. Good way to catch a disease by eating food prepared by people clearly on meth. Not one, not two, but numerous Wendy’s workers were clearly on hard illicit drugs. Watch out for Hep C folks!

The manager on duty is very rude unprofessional and needs coaching on customer service and how to utilize professionalism on the phone. When calling corporate to discuss the inappropriate management the hold service starting offering kids for adoption which now has me concerned about Wendy’s as not just a corporation but as a whole and if they might be in line with Wayfair.

I just had the worst experience ever at the union street location in bangor. Sat in drive through for a half hour for them to send one out saying headsets are no longer so we can't do drive thru. I go in and wait atleast another half hour to place and receive an order. I specifically asked if everything was in the bag and was told yes. When I got home I most definitely did not get everything I ordered. I was missing 3 Jr bacon cheeseburgers. I will not be returning to this location again. Gone completely downhill and that's the nicest way I can say it. Zero stars would be more accurate.

The cashier was actually really friendly. The food was pretty darn good too. But the restaurant was a complete DUMP. The floor near the soda station was so sticky that you had to keep moving in order not to be glued to the floor. The seats in the booths had rips and tears and more sticky substance. There was so much dirt, old, french fries, and other food on the floor That it looks like it hadn’t been swept in a year. There were tables that had food and trash on them. I cannot get over how unbelievably dirty this place was.

I got a crispy chicken biggie bag with a sprite and baconator fries. Food was good, no complaints. The sprite however tastes and smells like an old musty basement. It was like this several months ago and I would have assumed they would have serviced/cleaned the machine by now. I highly suggest avoiding getting fountain soda here until they fix or replace that thing. I couldn’t imagine what the inside of those hoses look like 🤢 I’m not picky either it’s just that bad so I dumped it.

I went the night of the big wind storm, no power anywhere but Union Street. The lights were on only at Wendy's. We pulled into the drive through with a bunch of cars in the line ahead of us. When it came our turn to order a man come out if the restaurant and even though we were the last car in line refused to take our order, but he took the $35+ dollar order from to car infrount of us. I heard them say it would take them about 10 minutes to fill the order for this customer, yet they couldn't through on to patties for two burgers! I never go to Wendy's again!

While going through the drive through we ordered 2 of the $6 bags the menu board said $13 and change. We get to the window and now they want $15.20 for our double stack with bacon we complained but we had to pay. Then on the way home as we are eating our lunch our burgers were double stack no bacon no anything else. But we were almost home by then. I called to speak to the manager in charge and got hung up on. As far as I am concerned wendy's will never get my business again and I will tell anyone and everyone about the way we were treated.

Waited over 30 minutes in drive thru, as they were only taking one order at a time, getting them through, then taking another order, all for two combo meals (baconator and a Dave’s) got frostys instead of soft drinks and they didn’t give us any spoons. They had told us at the window that we were just waiting on the burgers. Well when we finally got the food the fries were ice cold due to them just letting the fries sit in the bag while waiting on the grill. I’m so upset I don’t even want to go back and deal with it because I will have a major attitude and am just angry. Absolutely horrible service, and food is not worth the wait. I understand every business is struggling with being understaffed, at the same time there should still be consistency in quality, and it’s not here. The best part of the whole experience was the gentleman on backcash who seemed to be the only one taking his job seriously, and was very pleasant and a great salesman. 12/8/23 around 6-6:30pm

Stopped in with the family, I tried to new Ghost pepper chicken sandwich. When I tried it, there as minimal sauce, a hardened bun, and missing the fried onion ghost pepper crunchies as show. Waited around 3 to 5 mins to have someone at the register and the food sat on the tray another 2-3 mins before they served the remainder of the food. But the atmosphere was decent.

I’ve had bad experiences at wendy’s like all fast food places but todays wendy’s visit was a 5-star, was having a down day, went inside and got actual human interaction and good service for a change. Elijah took my order, was taking care of the store while waiting on my food to be prepared and was making sure I was fine the whole time while waiting inside for my food. Him & the staff I had tonight were super kind and went above and beyond to make sure i was in and out and had a good time while doing it!

The place was filthy, all the tables needed to be washed, told 2 employees. First impression was a bathroom that was in bad need of a fresh cleaning. The lobby was not much better. The stainless steel under the dry bar doesn't look like it's ever done. Same with the stainless corners of the trash cans. Tables still had crumbs. All of them. The fries were put on the tray before the rest of the food was ready, so they weren't hot. However, they were replaced without a fuss, so I did give 4 stars for service. You should never be too busy to leave a good first impression. Step it up. You have a polite crew, who just needs a little more motivation.

I was in a line of six or seven cars for the Wendy's drive-through located at Union Street in Bangor, Maine on Monday night, Sept. 4, 2023 at 8 PM. After the car ahead of me ordered, they pulled up, but not enough for me to pull ahead. The speaker was level with the front grill of my car. I had pulled up to see a blocked section of the menu. Four times, the Wendy's greeting repeated, "How can I help you?". Three times I repeated that I couldn't pull up to the speaker, and that this was the same person/car. They continued to ask me to speak louder. On the fourth robotic repetition, I finally could pull up. At that point I asked if this was a robot, and drove off. How do you rate that?

People in Maine love their fast food! Lol. Seriously though...tried the new italian chicken sandwich. It was delicious however...they put a huge breaded disc of fried mozzarella on top. It is extremely delicious but you can CHOKE on it. It is so big that it is super chewy and can cause you to get it stuck in your throat.

I’ve eaten here regularly for over a year idk what happened but the employees are very disrespectful and argumentative quality and preparation of food has gone way down assuming it has to do with lack of good employees my dissatisfaction will only go this far. The lady with space buns working the front Counter was swearing up a storm I know finding good employees is hard these day but if someone’s gonna be working the front counter they should at least be able to refrain from dropping f-bombs in front of a families. I hate leaving bad reviews and I get that places are under staffed right now but that doesn’t give anyone an excuse for attitude and profanity. I came tonight just to grab a snack before I had to go to work. There was a line almost out the door and a pretty good sized drive through line, it happens. But I’m pretty sure it doesn’t take 5 people to stand there pack a bag of food. There was also a younger lady with space buns in her hair dropping the F-Bomb every 5 seconds and there was a toddler sitting just behind me in a booth. They also had customers walking out because the staff would just stare instead of helping customers. When I asked an employee when we would be able to answer she snapped back with “yup in just a minute.” This place has become seemingly more slow with customer service, which is too bad because they have a pretty good flow of traffic through there.

Couldn’t be more annoyed with this place. I use my mobile apps all the time. I selected to use my points for a free sandwich. It asked at restaurant or mobile? I chose at the restaurant. I was told they don’t honor coupons. They could only do mobile orders. They said the Wendy’s app is a separate entity and they can’t do anything but scan it. I use the app all the time. I have issues only when using it at Union Street Bangor. This has been going on there for years. Time to figure it out.

Lines were long both inside and outside, but the workers here definitely worked with a purpose! They all had great attitudes although some customers were difficult and the lines kept coming! Reminded me of being in an understaffed Chic Fila!

On 6/21/23 at 10:10 PM I went through the drive thru and ordered two biggie bags with some alterations. I ordered one biggie bag with a jr. bacon cheeseburger (no mayo and with pickles added), fries upgraded to a medium, four piece nugget with sweet and sour sauce, and a mango pineapple lemonade. The other biggie bag I ordered was a double stack, fries upgraded to a medium, four piece chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce, and sweet iced tea. They took 5 minutes to take my order, repeating it back to me and taking a while to make any and all alterations to the order. I paid and then went to the order window. It took 15 minutes to receive my order. They put my drinks on the window and I noticed one of the caps was only half on. They never fixed it before handing it to me and it nearly spilled. While waiting for my food, I saw them looking in the bag and then checking a screen above numerous times for quite a few minutes before handing it to me. When I got home (it was my mistake for not checking before leaving) the sweet tea had no sweetener in it, the lemonade was not mixed whatsoever, the jr. bacon burger had no pickles and was caked in mayo, and there were no nuggets, yet they still gave me all four sweet and sour sauce packets
