It was a nice to be sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the view. I was not happy with the minimal menu selections for food and the service was very poor, ordered different drinks besides water and they never brought them .

Service was decent. Atmosphere is decent; however; the food is marginal and inauthentic. Some dishes labelled are a veneer of charm, and aesthetics are bland. Advice to management: factually state your dishes.

Service is so slow we left after waiting 15 minutes to get service. Won’t be coming back.

I had the jerk chicken sandwich. . . . I made a bit of a mess of it, but it was very moist and tasty. In New Orleans, they say if you don't get your hands and face dirty, it wasn't a good sandwich. . . This was a good sandwich. The rest of the party enjoyed their meals and the view (both outside and in the restored barn) was great.

Walked in to an empty restaurant. Not a single table occupied. Hostess told us to wait then took the couple behind us that walked in five minutes after us. Greeted them with an upbeat, bubbly voice and immediately changed tone to tell us that she would come back for us later. We walked out. Will never be back.

Was not expecting the restaurant to be so nice! Very classy and food was delicious! I recommend the drip coffee and of course, the apple cider doughnuts!

We hosted our wedding day at Wilson's Ciderhouse & Venue and I seriously cannot say enough amazing things about the staff, the facility, the food, or the atmosphere. The ceremony location is breathtaking on it's own, add on top of that the ability to walk to the flower fields to take photos and everything is just so stunning. The venue manager, waitstaff and bartenders were incredibly kind and attentive and our guests couldn't stop raving about their food. I'd highly recommend having your big day here!

We had our wedding at Wilson's Ciderhouse and were stunned and amazed by how good the staff, environment, and venue was! Every question and need we had was taken care of and the staff worked so hard to make sure all of our guests were taken care of. The food was also so timely and tasty that all of our guests were talking about it all night! If you want a venue that truly cares about making the day smooth and wonderful - Wilson's is your choice!

I had my wedding at Wilson’s and was so glad I did! My top priorities in choosing a wedding venue were 1) being able to have great food and drinks 2) beautiful surroundings and 3) convenience. Wilson’s knocked it out of the park on all three. They offer a full-service bar and can make all kinds of classic and signature cocktails. We got so many compliments on the quality of the drinks at our wedding (and the guests definitely seemed to enjoy them)! The food was delicious, portions were large, and was served warm. It was so nice to not have to worry about finding separate caterers, bartenders, or renting tables, chairs, flatware, etc. since Wilson’s provides all of that as part of the venue rental. The staff is experienced in hosting weddings and was helpful during the planning process. Many of my vendors mentioned Wilson’s was one of, if not their absolutely favorite venue in Eastern Iowa due to how beautiful it is and how knowledgable the staff are. Highly recommend Wilson’s to anyone considering getting married in the Iowa City area!

Their professionalism truly enhanced the dining experience. The drinks were spot-on, perfectly crafted to complement our meal. Whether it was a refreshing cocktail or a crisp glass of wine, each sip added to the enjoyment of Mother’s Day brunch. Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply delicious. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor and made with quality ingredients. It's evident that the kitchen takes pride in their craft, and it certainly paid off in the taste. However, there's one aspect that could use some fine-tuning. While the concept of family-style dining is appealing, there was a slight discrepancy in the portion sizes communicated to us. The waitress mentioned that most main dishes would comfortably serve three people, but in reality, it felt a bit inadequate for the price point. In conclusion, my first visit to Wilson's Cider house left me impressed overall. With exceptional service, delectable drinks, and mouthwatering food. Addressing the portion size issue when offering family-style dining would elevate the experience even further, making it a definite go-to spot for both locals and visitors alike. I look forward to returning.

Food was great. The seats were horrible, they were very uncomfortable. It was literally a plank of wood and I got a splinter. For how expensive the place was you would think they could have better chairs. Anyways xoxo:)

Overpriced burnt pizza, one and done

Our table probably spent over $1,000.00 and 4 or the 6 couples said this is the WORST food, service and treatment we have ever received. You need to let your customers know that when you order a New York strip, you expect to get more than maybe 3 oz for $40.00. The servers treated us like we were putting them out when we asked for something. Horrible experience, all-around, we know we will never go back!

Foods ok but the ambiance and staff were wonderful and there shop is also great. Wonderful place for a meal

We chose to have our wedding here, and it was such an incredible day. Everyone is so kind and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing and everyone talked about how amazing it was. Cannot think of a single negative comment.

First time visiting Iowa. Wilson's is a lovely place to have lunch and sit and chat with friends. The service was great and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy; super flavorful with a little bit of spice. The potatoes were nice and crunchy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. Can't wait to go back!

We hosted a corporate event for 3 days at the Ciderhouse. The staff were all very helpful, attentive and professional for all of our requests. And those apple cider donuts in the morning for our clients.... WOW. And the food they prepared for our eat-in lunches was a big hit with all of our attendees. We hope to host another event this summer as well at the Ciderhouse. It's a perfect location that's just outside of Iowa City to feel 100% Iowa.

My daughter’s wedding was held at Wilson’s Ciderhouse Venue. The venue was beautiful, the drinks were delicious, the food was phenomenal (many of my friends commented that it was the best wedding food they have ever had), and the service was impeccable! We couldn’t have been happier!

Beautiful spot with friendly staff…but the food wasn’t worth the price. The focaccia was oily, the sandwich bread was dry, the ‘house aioli’ tasted like tartar sauce …three of us had subpar meals. Maybe an off night, I think usually quite good 🤷‍♀️

Beautiful location in the midst of nature combined with a unique, high class menu makes a visit here very special. Vegan and gluten free options. Highly recommend!! The self bruwed ciders are amazing!

Delicious food. Fast friendly service. NIce selection of drinks. Many uniquely prepared options. I had the "Local Veg Toast" and was pleasantly surprised to get a generous portion of arugula with delicious dressing included with the fresh bread toasted and a perfectly poached egg on top. Also ordered at our table and shared was the "Fried Tofu Sandwich" —really great breading used to fry the tofu to perfection. Would make a nice appetizer to share. Our friends ordered the Belgian Waffle which was topped with candied nuts and fresh fruit. Delicious. Would be a perfect desert shared with four people. The other item ordered was the "Breakfast Sandwich" but requested without the bread for a perfectly delicious low-carb option. The scrambled cheesy eggs were fluffy and tasty. They should teach culinary courses. Very innovative. The solid wood beams and high ceiling create a nice space with many windows to see the rolling hills and trees surrounding the area. It's centrally located and a short enjoyable scenic drive for most people in the area.

This restaurant does not understand the gluten-free diet. The appetizer fallback option was less than tasty or satisfying. Will not go back and will not recommend it.

Great venue for a wedding. Service was excellent for both bar and food. Food was really good. Steak was prepared perfectly which is very difficult for a large crowd and the salmon was uniquely accompanied by a unique white bean side.

First, the view from the patio is just lovely. We had a party of ten tucked at the end, and it was lovely. We started with the pork empanadas, ricotta toast, and Israeli Salatam--all delicious. The vegetarian in the group enjoyed the tofu sandwich--it's spicy! From burgers to pork kebabs to pasta, everyone loved the food. We had a 3-year-old, who was very busy, but the grilled cheese looked delicious, and his fries were crispy. I didn't catch our waitress's name, but she was very patient dealing with our disjointed group and kept us all happy with drinks and food. Thank you, Wilson's Ciderhouse, for making my retirement dinner perfect!

Beautiful place. Been here a couple times service and food is very inconsistent. First time I was there great service good food. Second time I was there server forgot to bring items we asked for and I was pretty much done eating by the time my daughter got her food. Mine would have been cold had I waitedany longer. Both times ordered biscuits and gravy which is one of the simplest things anybody could make. First time tasted great, second time the biscuits were hard as a rock and could barely cut them with a fork. My daughter's waffles were pretty much in the same state when she finally got them. For what this place costs I probably will wait for quite some time before returning again if at all.

An easy 5…the braised beef ribs are the best bites I’ve had in a couple years including a CO trip, We arrived at sunset to add to the happy energy. In summary food and setting are next level.

Had a wonderful brunch at Wilson's Ciderhouse. The rustic barn atmosphere is delightful. I had the waffles with apple and my husband had their breakfast plate. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be back again!

7 course cider paired dinner was great

I don't live in Iowa City, but i have been there twice already! Food and atmosphere has been great and the staff has been very friendly. However, service is a little on the slower side.

The Cidery is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. They are fantastic with their flavors and provide a wonderful dining experience. The staff has always been extremely knowledgeable in the dishes as well.

The Ciderhouse is always excellent! The food is very fancy, and the location is incredibly beautiful.

The food and service were mediocre. It was expensive, and the steamed mussels smelled putrid.

We love going to Wilson's for brunch and during one of our outings realized it would be a great spot to get married. We were quickly able to get in touch with the venue coordinators and set a date! Everyone at Wilson's Ciderhouse was so easy to work with and eager to help make our wedding the best day it could be. Laura and Isabelle were incredibly helpful and always willing to answer questions. They were very responsive and organized, making the planning process incredibly easy on us. They are also super kind and were lovely to have at the actual wedding itself. The venue was beautiful and the staff did a wonderful job setting up and allowing the day to run smoothly. The food was delicious, which we continue to get comments on from our guests! Everything exceeded our expectations, we are so happy with our decision to have held our wedding at Wilson's! And we'll definitely be back for more brunch!

Dinner was amazing and with a rotating menu I will definitely be back to try the new items. Love the hard ciders and deserts as well. Atmosphere of the restaurant is great, it is one of the few restaurants you can go to and actually hear yourself think. Staff was friendly, engaging, and made the visit even better.

Love this place! Amazing food, tried at least 5 different dishes and they all taste delicious.

Went for a girls night. Orchard and store were fun. The cider house was beautiful but menu was limited and pricey. The only thing on the menu that was “normal” was the burger so that’s what we got… it was ok but mostly bun and extra $3 for cheese. I like that they offer local foods. They added gratuity to our party of 7 which was unfortunate, I normally tip higher but since they assumed an amount I left it as it was.
