Best shop around in my opinion. Staff is very helpful, friendly, and not pushy at all. They always have used gear coming in that compliment the new gear on hand. They offer fair trade-in value if you are looking to swap gear. Follow their reverb profile as they update it quite frequently. They always respond promptly on their facebook messenger profile.

Prices comparable to the big chains, plus the dedication and service you can only get from an independent dealer. I walked out with a barely-played PRS SE Swamp Ash Special in charcoal, and a Gator hard case. Read below for details. The whole story: When I travel, I always like checking out independent music stores to see if they have any cool stuff. While visiting my daughter in Charlotte for the first time, she mentioned Woody's. I hoped I could find an effects pedal or some other small item to memorialize my first visit to her home. In fact, I mentioned this to her as we approached the entrance. As soon as we entered the store I immediately knew by the array of gorgeous Gibson, Fender and PRS electric guitars, both new and pre-owned, that this was a quality store that knew their stuff. I turned to my daughter in excitement and told her this was exactly the kind of place I was looking to explore. We struck up a conversation with Jake, store manager and owner Ed's son, on all things guitar from Les Paul to Buckethead. Jake knows instruments, and all the artists that have mastered them. After a great discussion, I turned to look at the guitars and spotted a PRS SE Swamp Ash Special in charcoal, only this one was so nice that it looked like a one-piece body and the color had bands of gold and almost a lavender hue in the grain. It was gorgeous! When I took it down and flipped over the tag it was my turn to be shocked...$650 including the gig bag! Told my daughter that I was going to buy it on the spot. And I did just that!! Even bought a Gator hardshell case for it. Thanks Jake! I am super happy!!! I plan to stop in every time I get down for a visit. Check them out! If you play, or collect, you owe it to yourself to stop in a see what's hanging on the walls.

I was looking for a mandolin and had the one I wanted in mind. Through searching the web to find decent quality mandolins locally I soon found this was going to be a challenge until I finally ran across Woody’s Music Store. They actually had the one mandolin I had been looking for. I called to make sure that they still had it and they did. I explained I was from out of town and in a bind time wise because I had another appointment that afternoon. Gary was super helpful. I did the transaction over the phone and he told me he would go over the mandolin and make sure it was good to go and waiting for me when I arrived. I got a great deal (better than expected) and a t-shirt. Staff were very friendly. The only bad thing I can say was that I didn’t get to stay and chat long enough due to my schedule. I believe in supporting small businesses when I can and I must say that Woody’s Music is a really good one to support. I’m still considering the pedal I was looking at while I was there. So I may be back sooner than I thought. Give these guys your business. They have a lot of nice stuff. Great brand names and prices are good.

Good selection of new & used guitars. Stopped in just to look but left with a 2022 Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster.

$4k guitar received in poor condition. Buzzes to high heaven, action is terrible. Seller refuses to accept a return for a refund. Buyer beware.

This is my go to shop for all things music. I have bought countless amounts of music equipment from woody's. I still remember when I first met the owner Ed back when the store was on cherry road by winthrop. The wealth of knowledge shared between the staff is only measured by their dedication to their customers. I have found myself spending hours at a time in the shop talking, sharing and learning with the woody's crew. I'm proud to call Woody's Tega Cay my home!

Had a guitar lesson with this guy willie today treated me awful .. he had no respect for students had no patience .. dont take lessons there its a shame the store people were nice though Save yr money. He should not ve teaching guitar in fact dont think he knows what he is doing Awful EXPERIENCE

I came in with a million questions today and Gary was so helpful and really made me feel like he cared about getting me the help I needed. Very nice guys in there and I will definitely be back for anything I need. Great little place 10/10 recommend.

If you need a guitar, this is apparently the place to be. If you need something else, like a dependable used band instrument or reputable service of said instrument, I'd steer clear. I'm not complaining about your short warranty, I'm complaining about your insistence that it was serviced properly before you sold it and that my child "probably dropped it". Dropping it isn't going to solder a spring inside. Your attitude leaves something lacking. If you stood behind your product and repair guy's work, you would have owned up to the possibility that a thorough job wasn't done and offered to properly fix the solder issue, which by the way, isn't why it was in the shop, just a nice look at your detailed work.

One of the best music shops in the Carolinas. Friendly staff that's knowledgeable of music gear and equipment. Ed, Diego and Grant are 3 employees I've had pleasant experiences with. They've got everything you need in stock from strings to instruments. What makes this store a cut above the rest is the quality they keep their instruments in. They make sure all guitars and basses for sale have new strings, good action settings and clean frets. They also have a great tech service to modify and tune up your instruments. Highly recommend. Bonus: They give you a little wooden chip for every set of strings you buy. Each chip is a dollar off a set of strings!

Can't praise the 2 employees enough! They actually know what's what v/s other stores. My partner decided to buy a guitar and Amp while in there and the guy working the register was so so beyond helpful with the sound output. I could tell he likes his job with the dedication he had. Definitely worth a visit or more.

For years, I’ve always gone to the big boys either Guitar Center,, Sam ash, etc. yes, I did purchase equipment… But when I went to Woody’s music in Tega Cay and met Gary Greene not only was I met with kindness and a sincere desire to do business but man was, I educated,!and I’ve been playing the drums for a good many years. I would highly recommend this store from the standpoint of highly knowledgeable representatives, and fair pricing. Make this your go to if you really are serious about your craft, professional or amateur.

Love Woody's - been coming here forever. Not just guitars and drums - they have band instruments and supplies (e.g. reeds) for middle and high schoolers as well. Ed, Gary, and the rest of the staff are very nice and helpful. They also offer lessons!

These guys are awesome! After a terrible/foul experience in Rock Hill with a store that has the same name, the staff at Woody’s Music in Fort Mill without hesitation made things right. This will be my go-to store from now on. Thank you Ed, and I thank your staff (Grant) for all your help.

Such nice people and im thinking about taking lessons here, we got my abuelos (grandfathers) Taylor made guitar strings fixed here and they showed us proper care taking and everything, we started a conversation with a worker named Grant, he was very nice and at the end from fixing our guitar he played us a song I think it was from nirvana (cant quite remember). I look forward to coming here again and buying another guitar. I am a beginner and I want to honor my grandfathers legacy of his guitar but at the same time I love rock music. Grant said that any guitar is good for anyone who is willing to learn how to. Thank you Grant for being a great friend to me and my father! Expect me to come there a lot often :)

Great people work there which makes a huge difference in a music shop. They have a great variety of stock considering the small space.

Woody's Music provided me with excellent customer service, took time to answer some questions, and shipped a guitar over to my location in Oregon. It arrived in great condition exactly as described and was nicely padded in the box. My purchase was a Reverend Airwave 12 string electric guitar. It's a really good place but a little bit pricey but at least he can be friendly of explain to you to be careful when touching the instruments but still I like it the place. Other words, he was very rude and Paranoid that I would break something though I'm very good with instruments and such.

Came in to buy a guitar and the staff was incredibly friendly. They helped me find the right pick and even gave me a discount! One of the strings came loose the next day so I brought it in and they fixed it right up, gave me a free tuning battery for my troubles of driving in and said if I ever had any more problems, they are happy to help. Seriously one of the nicest staff I’ve ever come across! Will definitely be coming back!

Stopped in to just pick up some strings (FYI - never a music store’s favorite person with and $8 purchase). They didn’t have my usual strings. One of the employees explained that they’re taking what they can get from the manufacturers (I know this to be true from other industries), I explained the strings I used and the strings I didn’t like and why, and explained what kind of sound I was going for. They recommended a brand I had never used before (with a little bit of attitude saying “this may become your new favorite strings”).. So I bought them, strung to my guitar and.. WOW !!! .. exactly what I was looking for, if not better! It’s obvious that the staff here actually plays instruments and is actively involved in music with a passion. They absolutely have me as a customer for the bigger purchases as well. Thanks for being there Woody’s.

Though this location is noticeably smaller than the rock hill location; this place is still a good place if you're looking for guitar/bass items or the instruments themselves, at the time of uploading this review, their were a few wind instruments that are fairly priced in there. It does contain reeds for alto to bari sax in rico or vandoren. By the way get vandoren, it's way better for most people(not sponsored by vandoren or anything, it's just the facts.). It also has clarinet and vessel clarinet reeds of the same two brands. There are plentiful amounts of guitars, and ukuleles in the store from what remember seeing. Overall if you came just for a quick stop for something string or wind instrument related and this location is closer, this is the place for you. If you want more choice than just go to the rock hill location. This place gets a conditional 5 star's from me.

The best, most helpful staff ever. They are all either musicians or musicologists it seems. Gary is a madly skilled guitar technician. Getting your instrument set up or repaired here is a good choice.

Just discovered this wonderful guitar store nearby. I took them a very inexpensive Fender Squire Strat that I bought for my grand kids. It was nearly unplayable, couldn't even get it in tune. Two days with these folks and we now have a great enjoyable guitar and it plays almost like my expensive Strat. Thank You

Very cool place with quite a collection of guitars and other stringed instruments. Staff still very gracious even after they were told I cant play a lick. Lol .. Some percussion equipment as well as keyboards. Just a neat store to look around and I would imagine if you were buying, it would be even better.

I always stop by Woody's when I am in town. Great selection of instruments and accessories, competitive prices and knowledgeable staff compared to the big box retailers.

This location is very small. They carry a few Nash, PRS, and American Fenders. Usually a squire or two. Their other location has tons of good affordable stuff. This one is a little more specialized.

I love this place. I’ve come here with my dad for years, and a few years ago, I got my first drum set from this place. It’s so amazing and came at a great price. I got an electronic drum set just a few months ago, and it as well came with a great price and is amazing quality. I got my first ukulele here a month or two ago, as well and I play all of my instruments all the time. My sisters and friends got their instruments here and we all love his place. This is our place to come when we’re bored, or sad. Very friendly and overall amazing place

Probably the best, most honest place and people you will ever meet. I have been playing music for 42 years. Hands down the friendliest, best priced, best lessons in the Carolinas and beyond. One of the owners is a professional percussionist. I wont tell you his name or with who... you will have to ask him yourself. Check them out online as well.

These people are true professionals. They are musicians, as well as businessmen. They make you feel welcome from the time you enter their shop. I have shopped at large chain music stores and small boutique shops as well. Their stock and customer service tops all I have seen. They have a repeat customer.

Ive been buying guitars and basses and drums from Ed for 25 years now. What a great place. I just bought my son some new Ludwig drums. Gary Green is the man. These guys go out of there way to help you. If they don't have it they will get it for you. Or you don't need it. Thank you both for the hard work you do.

I take drum lessons here and the staff is wonderful, and they have all the musical things I could need. They also give drum, guitar, I think violin, and a few others.

The people there were very helpful, they helped me find a guitar that fit me, and was in my price range. They also provided me with a package deal that allowed me to get a case, strings, pick, tuner and other stuff with the guitar. They were very friendly, they even knew my guitar teacher at NAFO
