The best gyros in Springfield hands down.

Best gyro I've had in a long time, or possibly ever. Got the extra meat and was absolutely stuffed when I was done. Fries were good and the service was great. The lady taking my order was calling people honey and sweetie!!! We need more people like her in this world. I'll 100% come back here next time I'm in Springfield.

The gyros are huge and full. They taste great, fresh and hot. The fries are cooked just right and you get more than you really need.

I just had a gyro here for the first time and 100% yes,! Fantastic! They even crumble the feta if you get it, not just the usual huge chunk that you have to dig out and crumble yourself. I will definitely be returning! If you love Gyros, definitely stop in!

Best gyros, mozz sticks, cheese fries, hot dogs, etc., etc. in town. Just all around incredible quality food at very fair prices & the staff are all great people. Love working just down the street from this place.

A classic dive with great food!!! The gyros were on point and excellent domades. Not an impress your first date place but a really good food quick place.

What's great is my wife is not into gyro meat but Yannis has a great selection of alternatives. Like gyros with chicken, bbq, pork tenderloin! Even a veggie gyro! Their greek fries, greek salads are to die for. A selection of kids menu items like Hot dog basket, corn dog basket for the finicky eaters. Quick & attentive staff! Great quick lunch place for workers in a hurry or call in orders available!

Soooo I'm in love with this place! Wish I had known about it sooner! I'm addicted now! Their Fries Fire! Hot dogs Fire! I gotta try their italian beef. Their gyros were hot juicy messy like I like them. Only thing was it was a bit salty not sure if I had to much sauce I asked for extra but baby it was still Fire! Them fries tho

This place definitely deserves the great review. These are the best gyros I've ever had (next to my wife's and that's saying alot.) The French fries, Baklava, Pita and hummus were great as well.

Rude, judgmental employees. They refused to let my Grubhub driver pick up my order stating they don’t do business with Grubhub because “you guys never picked up the orders”. They profiled my Grubhub driver assuming that he was one of the drivers that doesn’t care meanwhile he’s been doing this job for almost 4 years and has perfect ratings.

Always the best place in town to get gyros. We eat there at least once a week and it's always hot and fresh. If you haven't tried them you should.

I dont ever write reviews but this place is amazing. Best chicken and lamb gyros I’ve ever had and i’ve had a bunch all over the country. The combination salad may be my all time favorite salad now. This place won’t disappoint.

I never had a gyro before, but was told that Yannis was the best in town. I tried it and loved it. The meat was tender, the sauce was delicious and I'm hooked. I tried other places since then but nothing is as ever good as Yannis. Get the sauce on the side, cause then you have extra to dip your fries in. 👍

Food was great. Lady behind the counter was great. The guy who ran over to tell me not to lean on a "broken" shelf that I was barely leaning on needs to chill. Fix your shelf that's right next to the cash register... it'd cost your business like $5 and 10 minutes if time and save you time and money everyday from running back and forth yelling at customers and then gossiping about them for telling you to fix it. Good luck with your shelf situation, I can tell is causes your business a lot of contention.

Great Italian beef....my wife loves the gyros and swears by tue tazatrini sauce.....service was amazing the cash lady was very sweet and the cooks also awesome....the o ly downside for me was the seating area if the tables are full u have to sit at a lunch table Like thing that's the only reasoning for the atmosphere....food 10/10 service 10/10.....very clean place also

Yanni's Gyros is GREAT!!!!! Great food and incredibly friendly staff! I typically get the gyros and they have always been good, however, on my last visit I decided to change it up and get a tenderloin sandwich. As I expected it was super good too. I look forward to many more visits to this business

Oh. my. gerd. My wife and I went to Yanni’s Gyros for dinner tonight and were super impressed with how delicious our gyros were and the A+ service. Haven’t had a gyro in a while and am pretty picky. We will definitely be hitting up Yanni’s regularly.

One sandwich cost $750 taxes included and if you're hungry that's enough I get the double meat for an extra $450 and I cut it in half and I get two meals out of one sandwich that way

It's truly unfortunate I can only give 5 stars. I worked at Midas down the street for 8 years and we got lunch for the shop at least once a week, and anyone waiting for their car to be repaired looking for food would be immediately recommended to Yannis- I never heard anything but excellent from our customers about Yannis. Now I travel all over the state fixing copy machines and can confirm 100% Yannis has the best gyros-and it's not even close. Always fresh, always hot and always delicious with friendly service to boot! Antique Tractor friendly. Lol.

We were passing through Springfield around lunch time and my husband looked up restaurants on the iExit App. Definitely recommend getting the app. It has Yelp reviews listed with each business. We happened upon Yannis due to their high reviews and we love Greek food. It was a great stop. I got the Gyro and a side of Dolmas with extra Tzatziki. Every single thing I ate was perfect. My husband ordered the gyro horseshoe. We aren’t from Illinois so we had no clue what a horseshoe was. Apparently it’s very specific to Springfield. It’s got the pita on bottom, then builds up like a tostada with gyro meat, tzatziki, french fries, queso, and others toppings. My husband was so excited to try something new & He loved it. Yannis is a family-run establishment and they are really friendly. We will return the next time we drive through Springfield.

Wow! Amazing gyros! This hole in the wall is definitely worth a stop if you are anywhere near Springfield. One of the best gyros I’ve ever had for sure. They make the fries in small batches so you may have to wait a bit but they are delicious.

Everything I've gotten from here has been great. I love the gyro salad and the spicy BBQ gyro is so good. The Greek fries are the way to go when it comes to fries. And if you've never had a gyro horseshoe, you definitely eed to stop in and try one.

Absolutely the best gyros I’ve ever eaten. Good portions and reasonable prices. Not much to look at from the outside. Stumbled on this place years ago (before yelp, google, and all those things) and was a little hesitant to go in. I’m so glad I did. Now anytime I’m in Springfield or even passing through I make it a point to stop. Maybe the only downside is sometimes it can get pretty busy and you have to wait. Don’t pass this place up.

First time here had to see what the hype was about and I get it now ! I'm a huge gyro fan and they definitely got the best I've had. wish I hadn't waited so long to give them a try can't wait to go back 😁

Absolutely the best gyros around. The fries are amazing as well. Watch them fry them sometime and you will see there is more to it than dropping the basket. The best thing when I worked in Springfield was being 1.5 miles away from here. I am going to miss going there once or twice a week.

Yes. Yes. Yes. We called about 25 minutes before they closed and were still able to order. We (my nephew and I) had a hankerin for some fried mushrooms. They were made fresh and tasted delicious. Of course our hankerin wouldn't've been stifled without them tonight. Thanks Yannis Gyros for satisfying these customers!!!

A client introduced me to this place and It was love at first bite.. literally, the food is fresh and the customer service is everything!! It feels good eating at a place where people put love in their food. I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

Love to eat here , best gyros in Springfield, only complaint every once in awhile he goes a little heavy on the onion in the sauce , in my opinion. but usually an amazing place to eat. Still love his gyros even when that happens. like I said still better than anywhere else in town for a gyros. Good prices as well!

Family owned gyro spot in Springfield Illinois. Fast friendly service. My wife and I enjoyed our loaded gyros, fries and onion rings. Dine in was not packed and being a small family owned place they did ask that customers bus their own table and wipe things down when you leave. We had no issue at all. Folks behind the counter we we e hustling as take out orders were flying outta the shop. I definitely reccomend Yannis.

Gyro was loaded, tzatziki was great, dalmades and sauce were excellent, flaming saganaki was amazing too! Highly recommend the food here.

Hubby and I stopped in one our way through Springfield on a trip. An obvious established Springfield restaurant, it is rough around the edges, but absolutely worth the stop. We ordered a gyro basket with extra meat and a mini gyro basket. The portions are great! We could have easily shared a fry which we will definitely do next time. The gyro meat is so flavorful by itself then you add the zitti sauce and man o man that is one tasty gyro. Everything was made to order so it was fresh and so yummy. The prices are really reasonable especially the basket prices. We were told this place has a following and we can absolutely see why. We rolled in at 7pm so we had to eat on the trunk of our car because the dine-in was closed, but ya know I didn't mind a little picnic in the parking lot. Will definitely be back when we are in the area.

I'm from NJ/NY and was in Springfield for work just down the road from Yannis. I went on memorial day but they were closed. Im glad I had the chance to try again a few days after. One of the best, if not the best, Gyros I've ever had. Extremely fresh and great prices for the perfect amount of food. You can tell they have a great relationship with their customers also and are overall good people that deserve the business they're getting. Very satisfied with my experience.
