Quickly greeted upon coming into the restaurant. The host informed us of the specials and made sure to get our order in before the specials were over. We ordered calamari, edamame, Monster Spider Roll, tater tots, and Boy Meets World roll. The food was fresh. Well seasoned and prepared quickly. The staff was pleasant. The restaurant was clean.

overall a very pleasant experience even though we got denied every time we tried to order an octopus roll (they were out of octopus) 🤣 they have happy hour 4:30-6:30pm on weekdays, which features $3 takoyaki and $5 off jumbo rolls food notes: amazing presentation and unique flavor profiles - they made cilantro work in the sin nombre and #thuglife2 jumbo rolls and mango work in the 100 years of solitude small roll. jumbo rolls were tasty, though i do think they’re really about the sauce (maybe a little too much). not the most delicious rolls you’ll ever have, but definitely the most beautiful. the sake small roll was delicious and it had some of the best seaweed i’ve ever tasted. the sake nigiri was also fantastic - so fresh and it came perfectly glazed. takoyaki was very stuffed and tasted great with and without sauce

We live so close to this spot, but never gave it a chance bc it seemed kind of gimmicky w the sauces, but we gave in due to a strong sushi craving and we were pleasantly surprised! It's good value and fun flavors. The rolls aren't what you'd traditionally expect, but they're unique and still satisfies that sushi craving.

Had lunch with my friend there. I ordered over the rainbow and Yaki Soba but I couldn’t finish all since I was full after having the Sushi. The sushi was fresh and delicious with huge portion. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would say this is one of the best Sushi restaurants in Chicago. Recommend!

Yuzu Sushi is one of the best sushi restaurants in town. I went there with my friend during lunch time. We ordered a “Salmon to die for” for the starter, two Jumbo Rolls ( Over the rainbow, Born to chill ), and Yaki Soba as our entrees. I could say that all of the dishes were very detailed and well prepared with delicious taste. The server was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back for more and more. This place is a must-try and highly recommended restaurant in Chicago, West town. Thank you so much the Yuzu Sushi team for great food and nice ambiance.

The sushi was fresh and good options to choose from, loved the short rib skewer too and the yuzu honey soda was amazing. Service was great, welcoming, and attentive. My only knock down is the sheer amount of sauce they make art with on the sushi tray, there is no reason to have that much sauce, it is so disproportionate to the amount of sushi they give you and seems like such a waste. Like at least try to fit two roles into a tray and then draw the art? Idk it was weird and I didn’t even know what the sauce was

This place has the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life. The sashimi and salmon avocado rolls are the unbelievably delicious. The staff are also so nice there. This is the best sushi in Chicago

This place is always tasty and has so many options that you can't get tired of it. The service is good, but if you want the best service, ask for Tao, he is Fantastic! I highly recommend the Avocado and Mango Salad, Seaweed Salad, Robata, and my absolute favorite, Chicken Katsu. And of course, you can't miss their edible art sushi rolls.

After hearing good things about Yuzu’s sushi we finally went in on Tuesday night! Their sushi was average, service was all over the place. Hours after eating my son started throwing up, followed by me and our entire party that dined in with us got the worst food poisoning. My sister and kids only ate cooked food but still ended up with food poisoning. For $250 we all got food poisoning and a trip to the ER!

I went there on 6/18 with 7 other family members. Every single one of us got the worst food poisoning. We have been throwing up for 2 days now. 2 of us had to go to the ER to get IV fluids. I would never go here again

Came with a large group of 8 people. Server was very kind and amicable. The bang bang shrimp was alright. People in my party enjoyed the hamachi appetizer. Chicago spring was good as well. Interior is cozy with manga art on the walls. A solid sushi spot in the city

Great sushi place with delicious skewers too!

Delicious food we order takeaway and got the most wonderful surprise. Everything from the Nigiri, to Robata, to sushi rolls was amazing and flavorful. We really enjoyed the grilled eggplant and the tofu. The highlight was probably the Robata for us. Definitely would love to dine-in next time with Yuzu Sushi!

This is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant in the city right now. Their jumbo rolls are beautiful crafted and executed so well, they have nice specials offerings, and I always like to sit at the counter bc the chefs always take good care of you and make good suggestions!

I swear, this was a nerd heaven. First off, the food was absolutely amazing— the sushi is definitely good (I would personally recommend the Stand By Me roll), but even their other foods— like the Kyoto Fish Bowl— blew me away. Then, the service was amazing. They were definitely good at what they do. Also, the “nerd” part— the walls are covered with panels from popular manga. Naruto, Gintama, Bleach to name a few. Absolutely amazing. And the food was presented beautifully— absolutely 100%. M., 12 yo

The Sushi is beautiful but not delicious!

Poor management. The restaurant is half empty. Told me the wait for one was 45 minutes. Can’t even seat me and give me a tea?! Hard pass.

This place is delicious and fairly priced. Go for Happy Hour and it’s a helluva deal! The service is friendly and attentive. They are SERIOUS about their reservations so if you’re not serious about punctuality, go somewhere else that’s more casual.

Great sushi! We got the Breaking Bad, the River Walk, and the Black Sea. The black Sea didn't really seem like a good value ($13) and was pretty plain, but both jumbo rolls were great.

Really good sushi! Super fresh rolls with beautiful presentation. The Black Sea roll was just okay but wasn't anything super special. The Breaking Bad roll was so amazing. Really good combination of flavors. We got it without the asparagus. The River Walk was good and packed full of fish but wasn't as good as the Breaking Bad roll. Service was great and such a fun atmosphere. I'll definitely be back here soon to try more of their Jumbo Rolls

Yuzu Sushi and Robata is located on the cutest street in West Town of Chicago. It’s a sushi art spot that blends Japanese traditional dishes with a little artistry. Check out our sushi roll. This spot was founded in 2011 by Yut Vong, who transitioned from a career in political journalism to the food service industry! We got the spicy edamame, tater tots, hamachi and jalapeño small roll and the River Walk Roll! Look at the art work it comes with. Wow! All were excellent. I loved the buzz in this restaurant. It wasn’t loud but everyone was conversing. Not a lot of people are on their phones. A nice change!

Been eating in and takeout here for years. The food is consistently delicious and often exceptional. The only problem we have ever experienced is unpredictable wait times for take out. If you're ordering on a holiday, consider doubling the wait time the online services estimate.

Yuzu is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant for its jumbo specialty rolls. They are not only fresh, tasty, beautifully presented, but always have an elaborate sauce art to dip your sushi into. I absolutely love Born to Chill, Love Potion No. 9 and their tater tots. Ask the servers for their recommendation. Very delicious food!

The best Sushi in town. I love that small place, The Sushi is absolutly awesome. Different variations, and very nice staff. The only thing what I would wish, during the winter, it would be nice if it is a little bit warmer inside. Everything else 5*****

This is a hip spot with a very urban, yet chill vibe. Food is very good. A tad pricey but good happy hour deals.

The sushi is fresh and delicious, served beautifully. Service was mediocre. Gratuity 20% was included on our bill, which is fine and truly the minimum anyway. Drinks were good. We were rushed out. I don't know how I felt about that. Most places let you know when you're being seated. They just let us know their next group had just showed up and they were going to let them know it would be about 5 minutes. We still had food out and drinks unfinished. It was unpleasant. It kinda dampened the experience. I'm not rating down for that. The decor was okay. I saw where the concept was going. Comic book style art burned into wood...some pieces were off center or diagonal...I wasn't sure if it was intentional. Lol

Literally my favorite sushi place. It’s very good! And they have excellent service.

We ordered take out as our usual. We used to dine in Yuzu, but they charged a 20% gratuity in a bill without notifying us one time and asked tip on top of that! We chose to not dine there anymore, and changed to take out. Today the usual softshell crab maki came as 5 pieces instead or 6 or 8, cost $14.50, and it's way smaller than the norm. The norm we know about was it cost $11.50 in 2021, then $12.50 in 2022, and $14.50 now, and the quantity gets smaller over time. You see the pattern. I called the number 'for any complaint or issue' to ask what is going on. And the lady on the phone explained a bunch about it's just the same quantity as before. All I heard is they don't care. We did enjoy Yuzu before, and it's time to part ways due to the sub par quality they offer now.

Loved this place. This is one of the best sushi spots I’ve been to in 2023! Food comes out fast and is tasty and fresh. Servers are nice and friendly. It gets 5 ⭐️ from me!

Stopped in on an adhoc Saturday evening pre other plans, post gym session.. food is always fresh and delicious.. today sushi chef whipped up some picked jalapeño wasabi.. enough said to pair with some hamachi.. plus they had some Japanese sashimi imports that melted in your mouth.. neighborhood joint that the whole city should enjoy.. top rate, good music, balanced price.

This is a great sushi spot with quality fish and delicious rolls! My only struggle is with the size of the signature rolls they so large that I can't properly eat then with with chop sticks but they are call jumbo so I can't really hate them for it. Thuglife2, born to chill and boy meets world are some of my go to rolls the crudo is always a must as well!

One of our favorite sushi places! The food is always delicious! 🤤 But wouldn't recommend it if you're having dinner to catch up with friends. They abide by their 90 minute sit time rule. Waiter and hostess will make you feel uncomfortable if you exceed the time even if you're ordering extra drinks and food. We had a just placed a new beer order about five minutes later they reminded us of the time limit, then the employees would stand close to our table and very visibily stare. Our friend ended up having to chug half of his beer.

I visited with a large party, and Yuzu was nothing but amenable throughout. The sushi was superb (favorites were Summer Breeze & Ocean and Dragon Ball), dessert was incredible, and our server was friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to visit again!

First time eating in and was not disappointed. Luckily it was happy hour and we got Sapporo on draft for a good price. The sushi was delicious as usual. I usually order pick up and never disappointed. It was a fabulous experience dinning in, came in before they got too busy.

Loved this place. The sushi was very fresh and were generously portioned. I love the idea of having dipping sauce as art. I also love a lot of sauce and they provide a ton when they bring out your food. Boy meets world was easily our favorite jumbo roll. Originally thought the mango was going to be weird but it actually complimented the roll well. Born to chill was decent, I wouldn’t get it over boy meets world though. Boston crunchy was the only regular roll we got but it was decent. I probably wouldn’t get anything other than jumbo rolls if I went back though. The skewers were also really good, with ribeye being my favorite. Meat was very flavorful and the sauce used was really good. Yakitori was also good but for the price I wouldn’t get it over ribeye. We went on Valentine’s Day and they were VERY slow. The kitchen must have been super backed up because it took us a good 30minutes to get our food. The server gave us two free drinks for the wait though so it wasn’t all that bad.

I found their sushi to be very tasty. probably some of the best I've ever had. The presentation of the sushi place was very entertaining. They also offer a nice selection of vegetarian options and options for people who have allergies and dietary restrictions

The black sea roll was quite delicious and the ratio of tuna to rice was perfect. My unagi roll and shrimp tempura rolls were great too though they were perhaps slightly smaller than I expected at the price point. Recommend the sushi here, fish seems fresh. Thumbs up.

It’s one of my favorite spots in Chicago. The sushi was great and tasty. Love everything about this place.

Great service and beautiful sushi

We wanted to order more sushi and drinks but the servers were talking to each other. So, we waited for 20 minutes and finally got to order what we want. It was not a busy night. After we spoke to one of the servers, they treated us rudely and talked to the others in foreign language. We are truly disappointed with the service and definitely wouldn’t go back.

Amazing food and atmosphere, tried the sushi, the spicy tuna roll was so good.

Second time coming this year. Went in just before close and just a table was about to be bussed. The lady took my order quickly and didn't have to wait long for those artfully delicious rolls! The staff was kind and attentive, especially when I asked the lady about the Very Spicy Tuna and making it even Spicier. They keep filling my water cup as my belly was filling up with makimono! I will come back again to try the rest of the rolls...

The salmon and hamachi were amazingly fresh. Their entire menu 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and the sushi gold was totally worth it.

Gotten more expensive lately but still one of my favorite restaurants.

Only received 1 appetizer. Server kept apologizing for service, but all tables around us except for 1 other were being serviced... (guess what we had in common). They ended up leaving as well after we did.

I never come back, the service was horrible. My friend and I wanted to try this place for so long. Finally on one of our stay-cay in the city we put this place on our list. It was huge disappointment. We arrive and was promptly seat. Place our orders for drinks and appetizers, so did the table of 3 next to us. It took about 15 mins for us to get our drinks, the waiter brought ours and table next to ours at the same time, so we thought we should place our food order now. The table next to receive their first, second, and thrid order come out before one of our appetizers (we never received the other appetizer). Finally the waiter came over to discuss the delay almost 40 mins and stated it will be another 5 mins. After waiting another 10 minutes and again watching others people food come out, we told the waiter we no longer willing to wait and asked for the check. I don't know what was going on that night but they need to fix it. Unfortunately you get one chance with me.

We showed up 15 minutes before the kitchen closed and they were so nice, so fast and the food was delicious. We ordered almost one of everything and it was all excellent. Having great vegan options was super awesome. My new favorite Japanese in the city.

Sake flights that were unbelievable and unique. Sushi that was so fresh and very creative (pineapple on the outside, colorful sauce designs), and awesome upscale trendy vibe. Very friendly fast staff

Lunch special was dope. Good gyoza and miso soup. The gyoza was really crispy and not greasy. Not a sushi expert but I thought the rolls were good as well.

The service hands down is the best. LOVELY PEOPLE WORK HERE, FEEL LIKE THEY GET TREATED WELL.... Excellent food options. I personally love the Korean marinated beef. So yum! 💗 I also love their miso soup! The music is great but know that it can be alittle loud.

My sister and her husband like this place as it's close to their neighborhood and the food is interesting so we tried this when we were in town visiting. We tried the takoyaki, edamame and shishito for starters then got the Monster Spider, Black Sea, Okinawa, Love Potion #9. The decorations on the platters are gorgeous. 2 of the rolls had cucumber in them which we ordinarily like. However this time they were extremely bitter. We thought maybe it was the roll combo but all 5 of us agreed the cucumber was bitter and made the rolls taste a little weird so we did tell our waiter. The hostess then brought us a replacement for the Spider roll and said it was fresh cucumber but it still tasted bitter so we just pulled all the cucumber pieces out. The restaurant then comped us dessert because of this, which was thoughtful of them. Outside of the cucumber we enjoyed our meal and the service. The rolls are interesting and we would like to try more menu items including the robatayaki and meals like the bowls etc.

Hands down, this is my favorite restaurant of all time. The sushi is incredibly fresh and original, and the jumbo rolls are a perfect meal at a very reasonable price. Don't forget an appetizer or two because Yuzu knocks all their food out of the park. To top it off, the atmosphere is very pleasant and modernly creative.

Delicious spot for sushi. Yuzu also has a large variety of appetizers and items from the grill. The jumbo rolls are large and a great dish to share. If dining for 2, I would recommend getting 2 jumbo rolls and an appetizer. On Tuesday nights they have $5 off jumbo rolls and $3 off regular rolls. We also got to witness live violinist for live music. It was incredible.

I was going to give this restaurant 5 stars because everything tasted wonderful, and the service was excellent. However, hours after eating it, my son (who’s a young toddler) and myself started to show symptoms of food poisoning. My stomach is still having waves of pain and other symptoms the second day. I feel so awful. We have not been anywhere in over 2 weeks because my kids were sick with a cold so I know it was definitely due to the food here and based on symptom onset. I feel upset with myself for trusting this restaurant.

Went here on a whim because my partner and I were craving sushi and was in the area… wow I am impressed!!! Service was top tier, came in without a reservation and was seated at the sushi bar right away. My partner even spilled her spicy miso (which was 10/10 btw) and the waitress was right there with paper towels almost like magic! Food came out so quickly. The Okinawa Express was so good it made me laugh while eating it! I also loved the size of the apps, it was a good entrance into dinner and not too filling. The nigiri was fresh and well cut and served. I always order a Hamachi nigiri and that’s how I usually am able to tell quality sushi - which the hamachi was buttery and good. I also got a mocktail (strawberry fields) which was delicious so I can only assume that the actual cocktails are just as good. Also, I didn’t know this fun little detail until mid dinner because I was so into the food that they had a live DJ!! I would return here again and again! 10/10 food, service, and atmosphere.

Everything was delicious! If ever back in Chicago will definitely go again! The food was just amazing and loved the atmosphere. So cute! If given the chance, please order the matcha creme brulee!

Where do I start!? Upon walking in the host positively greeted me. Like he was glad that I came by. Love that experience when I’m going to spend money with an establishment. The waitress was also so peppy and friendly! I came in during happy hour and had a Yuzu What and Drunk in Love -as drinks! All so delicious and well crafted. I then had the shrimp tempura roll and the Breaking Bad! Some of the BEST sushi I’ve had in a long time. I’m a regular at a location in LA and this compares. Love love love and will be back!

The sushi here was fine but I have had better. The jumbo rolls had bites that were absolutely massive - I think going with a smaller roll is they way. When presented, the sushi platters were very pretty looking and aesthetically pleasing. I likely won’t come here again as I was not a fan of the rolls. The service was great and restaurant was clean.

It was good food but not great. We tried the 3 signature rolls, Chicago spring, Motown effect & green something and the Motown roll was great. The other two were okayish. The matcha cream brûlée was unexpected and yum. The highlight were the cocktails
