I recently had a terrible experience at this restaurant. When I tried to get the server’s attention by saying ‘hey,’ she suddenly yelled at me, accusing me of saying ‘hey, you,’ which I never did. I was actually just trying to say ‘hey’ to catch her attention. She then told me that saying ‘excuse me’ would have been nicer. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, the manager witnessed the entire situation and did nothing to address it. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, and I will definitely not be returning.

Kind and quick service. Clean dining space and fresh kebab.

Best place to come get a quick Mediterranean bite. Their tri-tip shawarma wraps are great!!! To get more of your moneys worth the tri-tip shawarma plate is an even better option!

Great tasting Armenian and Mediterranean food. Can't go wrong with what you order. If you're there with another person have 1 person order half a chicken while the other person orders a combo plate. That way you can share with each other

Great lunch spot. I got the dark meat plate and was just in love with how many flavors I experienced. The rotisserie chicken is absolutely bursting with flavor with every bite, the hummus is delicious with pita. Both the garlic and hot sauce are pure flavor as well and I highly suggest mixing them with the chicken and hummus.

It's always packed and the service is very fast and viewable, so nothing is hidden which are the only type of restaurant I like

They do a good job at this location. The people taking your order are always friendly and that should be appreciated. The food is always good, and the setting is on the louder side due it to always being full. It's a community eating experience, which is nice.

I love you 💕 to get my orders straight is not happening. Items are missing or I can't stand it anymore. Too expensive.

I love coming here for lunch. I work down the street and have been going for more than 2 years now. It's always fresh tasty and the price is just right!

This place was the first west LA branch for Zankou and it has always been a favorite. They have limited parking but there is always a smiling attendant there to help the patrons. Food is great. I am a big fan of the shawarma and the rotisserie chicken. They have also entered the Kabab market in the past few years. I always say stick to your core products.

Zankou Chicken has some of the best chicken to be had. It is a chain. This one is kept very clean always and parking is not a bear. It is cute inside and out. The service is great. You never have to return your order. You can dine in, take away or have it delivered. We always dine in although they are always in to go boxes. We love all their chicken and their sides. It is supposed to be Mediterranean and I guess it is. They do have such dishes, but for us it is just great chicken. The chicken is always fresh and hot. We always get their half chicken plate, which is rotisserie chicken, served with hummus, tomatoes, garlic sauce, pickled turnips and pita bread. It is just the best. They also have great bowls. We love their chicken bowl with Kalamata olives, cilantro, feta cheese, two toppings and one sauce served over a bed of rice. You can have garlic sauce, hummus, or mutabbal. Their salads are also always fresh, crispy, and delicious. We especially like their cabbage salad that has cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions with a very nice olive oil and garlic dressing. Their sides are also excellent. Pickled turnips comes with most of the chicken dishes. Yummy. They also have wraps and deserts, but we have yet to try those, but they look good. You will really love this place so have fun.

Originally founded it in 1962 in Beirut, the first location opened in Los Angeles in 1983. There are currently 12 locations scattered around Los Angeles. They are well known for their fast food, casual style specifically for their chicken and Shawarma meats. I have known about Zankou for many years but stopped in for my first time for lunch on Friday. They have a fairly large menu with a lot of great options, all with Middle Eastern flavors. They have many tables inside, but most people were getting it to go. They don’t have a parking lot but street parking is easy to find and there is a small strip mall next-door that has free parking as well. They were quite busy during their lunch service, but all of my food items came out very quickly after ordering. This is not the best chicken or Shawarma that I have had in Los Angeles, but it is still good. That is why I am giving a 4/5. I chose the combo plate for my meal, which is a mix of chicken and beef. I actually liked the beef a bit more than the chicken, I felt that it was juicier. The portion sizes here are very large and the pricing is very fair so it’s quite popular with families and those looking for a good deal. I would recommend and plan to be back to try more items. They are conveniently located all over town so finding one is very quick and easy.

West LA location chicken and chicken tarna wrap tastes fresh and so flavorful. Had it for lunch. Now back after work to get family meal for dinner. Clean inside, friendly staff. Parking spotter for Zankou is on point, always helpful in guiding to park.

Right at the door of the restaurant there was a homeless man in precarious conditions, I asked for help and they didn't want to help me.

The food was incorrect; the quality of the meat was very greasy and felt subpar. The preparation of the meat has definitely changed. The chicken was too watery; something is definitely off with this location. Other locations do not seem to have this problem. However, I will say that they do provide garlic and tahini if you ask, which is about the only good thing they do.

First time there... delicious chicken and amazing tabouli (sp?)!

Great falafels, great hummus and rice, very generous servings.

Today the place was immaculate and food looked amazing and loved the new clear bags to see what you're getting. HOWEVER the breast chicken was UNDER COOKED and super "CHEWY" almost raw... And no flavor. First time ever.

What happened?! Used to be so good and a decent value. I had lunch and the chicken tarna was so dry and such a small portion. Garlic sauce still good but the rest was terrible. I wrote in about my experience and no one replied. More bummed than mad though as this used to be a go to place.

Really nice staff The chicken is really boring and dry, but the tri tip is alright I still think it’s fairly overpriced for what you get, and you would be better off going to Cava for more variety, flavor, and bigger portions

I love Zankou and go often to various locations around LA. This one was so great! Easily catered to my gluten allergy and was so knowledgeable (everything is gf besides pita & tabbouleh), and super friendly staff. Our food came out fast and it tasted amazing like always. I recommend the tri-tip shawerma plate with rice, hummus & cucumber salad. And you can’t forget the garlic sauce! But beware, eating too much of it may give you a stomachache. Oh well, worth it!

Waited over an hour for my order that was supposed to be ready in 15 minutes. They served at least 5 people who ordered after me because they were complaining and following up

A lot of food for a decent price. The pita and hummus are great here as well as the meat, rice and garlic sauce. The salad leaves a little to be desired. We've been here twice and it's been consistently good both times

It’s so funny. Every time I go to this Zankou (on Sepulveda and Santa Monica), the lady on the close side to the fountain machine always has a bad attitude, like she’s doing me a favor by being there. It’s always a different black woman, but she always has the same attitude. It’s just funny. Another funny story is, I was here in June of 2023… I walk up to this Armenian who was eating. I said, “Congratulations on your Date Just.” He said, “No.” I said, “I wasn’t asking a question. I was just congratulating you.” Then I go to the counter to get my food. I turn around and see that he has made a show of having taken off his Rolex. And I thought, it’s funny, what was he thinking? It would be easier for me to steal the watch out of his pocket than off his wrist because of the clasp. There was also a guy there that happened to look like Ringo Starr. He had a Submariner. Let the good times roll, huh? But yeah, the Chicken Tarna Wrap (with no tomatoes and extra garlic) is one of my favorite dishes, and I’ve been all over the US and Europe.

The food is pretty good here, as it’s been at every location I’ve visited, however, the customer service at this location is always rude to me. Has been every time I’ve been here over the past 2 years. Really disappointing as I’d come more often if I was treated nicer and not like I was a problem. Sunset used to be my regular restaurant till I moved to the westside and I have to say I really miss how friendly, helpful, and consistent Sunset location was. Must be different management. 5 stars for Sunset. 2.5 for Sepulveda. This location is also not as clean or nice to sit in.

Classic Mediterranean fare in a fast food environment. The pita is my go to here. Chicken of various types is a great route, so is the beef.

Food was terrible. Chicken was awful tasting everything was super salty and heavy oil. Got sick right away and a huge headache. This used to be good but it tastes awful last few times.

This Zankou is inarguably the worst Zankou. The location is such that they are SLAMMED during any mealtime, I think especially so since the advent of food delivery apps. Do not order takeout from here. The environment when you enter is immediately stressful, everyone is miserable. It is not the staff’s fault, but they are constantly behind on orders, drowning under an onslaught of impatient takeout drivers, and your food will be at least a half hour late for pickup (mine was a full hour late). There needs to be another Zankou on the west side—one that’s actually set up to handle the volume of takeout/ delivery orders that come in.

Love me some Zankou, but I have been disappointed the last 2 times with how dry the baklava was.

There's a new zanco's chicken in the valley. They moved from the old location down the street on sepulveda behind Wendy's. Now on sepulveda what can I say at zanco's chicken? Delicious! Try everything. There's a few around town. Yum! Yum!

Three dish I picked was so tasty, I had tried this before unfortunately it took over two hours before I eat it. It tasted great but doesn't compare from been just served!

If you know authentic shawarma and garlic dressing and you have been to Zankou for years, you know it’s not authentic anymore and not sure if they changed recipe or what. Having said that, the lule kabob was very good. They are definitely busy . Employees are courteous and friendly.

Food is delicious and always consistent. Don’t skip the pita bread and garlic sauce. It’s incredible. Parking is limited but the attendant outside is great. He gets you parked and in and out fast.

Garlic sauce is insanely delicious. Roast chicken, shawarma, whatever you get here is guaranteed to be amazing.

It was my first time there. My brother, wife, and I had lunch there. He had a wrap. She had one of the plates. I had the kabob combo with chicken and beef. 👍👍👍👍.

We got a Family meal from Zankou Chicken and was amazing! really good chicken and pita bread. Family meal is a really good option to save money and eat really well. Highly recommend.

Very much, a “Tiktok made me do it”. We live right by, and just drove by without thinking, but it kept coming up on my FYP. The chicken is so good! Super moister, wel cooked and tender. Def worth the hype.

Very good Mediterranean food. So glad we tried this place. Everything was wonderful. The rice was cooked perfectly.

My go to for Lebanese/Armenian bbq. Everything is good, I usually get their combo plate with Lule and Shish with tabouleh and hummus. Their chicken shawarma is good too as well as their falafel. Reasonable prices.

They use or don't use something in there food because it taste slightly different than the one in Anaheim. I'm not sure if it was their meat or their garlic sauce, but something was off. Cashier was kinda rude and it was disappointing. You could never go wrong with zankou for a quick bite though.

Zankou chicken is also my family and favorite place since the 70s and 80s 90s and beyond , this place is the Best chicken in the world you walk in and order and you'll get your food in minutes. Kitchen guys are wonderful. Cashiers are wonderful. They are all moving non-stop The valet parking guy is wonderful and I always take care of him.

Zankou used to be the best of the best, but not anymore. The chicken shawarm is only 50 % chicken, and the rest is pretty much a mix of fats and thick skin! That's disgusting

Food is good . There wrap is actually really good and it's quick . If your in a rush to get something real quick go for the wrap you won't be disappointed

One of the things the time or this place takes with you long for them to cook your food but I guess they make it on the spot so I think I came at a time when I was actually busy but the food was really good really good food I can't complain I order the chicken skewers with humus and rice and came with the salad and two pita bread.

This place has taken a turn for the worst over the last 6-12months. This is the 3rd time now where orders seem to take 30 additional minutes to process with double the amount of people (3 freaking people!) taking orders at the front. None of those people were able to give a straight answer and used each other to deflect any follow up questions…. Ohh, I do t know but they might. Not sure what’s going on anymore but that’s it, I can’t take it anymore and am willing to pay a few more bucks for better service. Also, after all that wait, the food was cold. What a shame.

When we go here, it's for takeout. The food is absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced.

Chicken Tarna Pita tasted great, however it was skinny. I felt like the portion was much smaller than I expected. Not enough meat, sauce or veggies.

I ordered half chicken and it was good, but not super good! I’ll probably come back later to check the beef options like luleh kabob and shish.

Nothing like ordering food on DoorDash, specify you need utensils and not get any when you have salads/chicken and are staying in a hotel. Zankou - you specifically have an option for utensils on your menu for every dish and still didn’t include any.
