definitely the best boba place in RVA, not exaggerating. all the drinks taste good and the tea taste is definitely there, especially with the milk teas. chrysanthemum milk tea and pandan shaved snow are my favs but TBH all drinks are a hit

staff are always so kind! they have lots of drink options that are all delicious😋their shaved ice is also my go-to sweet treat

Cute little spot for bubble tea and treats. Kids wanted Boba so decided to try this spot out. Didn't disappointment, love the many flavor options to choose from. Didn't try any shaved ice, but the drinks were delicious. Ended up trying coconut slushes and coffees. Will be going back to try more soon.

This is definitely one of the best places for bubble tea. I always get the Taro or Brown Sugar Milk Tea and it's perfect everytime.

The barista there this afternoon was knowledgeable about caffeine free options and friendly. The chrysanthemum tea being tasty was a big plus.

Delicious Snow Shaved Ice (melts in your mouth). Got Chocolate Shaved Ice with Mochi and Oreo, along with Chocolate and Sweet Condemsed Milk Drizzles.

Love bubble tea and shaved snow at Zen, it’s located centrally to a lot of shopping and restaurants, which makes for easy access for to-go!

I’ve tried lots of bubble tea and milk tea and matcha milk shakes around Richmond area, this place has it’s own Zen vibe! I loved the shake, and there boba is different from the others, less sugar and more fluffy! Also, there ice cream ( shaved ice) is really a unique experience! #OMARating: 8/10!

I’m a boba addict and this is my favorite boba shop in rva !! The tapioca pearls are always consistently soft and chewy. Friendly service in a small cute quaint atmosphere. My favorites are thai tea, green thai tea, taro, and the yogurt refreshers!

My favorite boba shop. I always go here when I'm in the area, and they are consistently great. Plenty of great drinks to choose from, and their toppings are always done just right.

I’ve tried just about every bubble tea place in Richmond and this one is my favorite by far! I always get the brown sugar bubble tea. The texture of the boba is just right and it’s a favorite weekly treat after visiting New Grand Mart for groceries next door. The drinks are a little on the sweeter side, which I like but I know isn’t for everyone so you can ask them for it less sweet if you prefer. I can’t recommend this place enough!

You have to try it out the mango mojito and the ginger honey tea on ice . Love them

The boba at Zen Cafe was excellent, but there was a synthetic aftertaste in my drink that caused me to reduce my rating. Also, I learned to not get the normal range of sugar was too much. Given the large amount of bubble tea shops in the area, I am not compelled to return.

BEST BOBA PLACE PERIOD!!!! So delicious, clean, tidy, and best customer service! Will never love a boba place as much as zen cafe treats.

Edit: Adding pictures of their latest menu. I usually stop by to get milk tea after grocery shopping. The shop has a good selection of drinks. I love their Winter Melon Green Milk Tea. The flavor is stronger than the one I got at Kungfu Tea. I also love their shaved snow. There are lots of flavors to choose and topping to try. Staffs are friendly and kind. I would recommend you stop by and try at least once. They have a loyalty card where you get a stamp for each item purchased. After 10 items, you can redeem one free item with less than $10 value.

I have tried one drink of each category and have loved it each time. Additionally, the "snow" dessert is absolutely amazing and super creamy. I would best describe the "snow" dessert as shaved icecream. Moreover, the boba shop has a pleasant atmosphere that is cozy and comfortable. In addition, the location has both indoor and outdoor seating. Furthermore, the location has a punch card, which incentivizes customers, such as myself, to be more loyal as you'll earn a free reward after a certain amount of punches. The punch card is located at the front of the cashier area. Overall, I would recommend this boba shop if you're looking for quality boba and a unique creamy dessert.

I love this cafe, its pretty. The staff is nice, it has fast service and everything about this cafe is positive. I love the food, especially taro. Its really good and full of flavor:D I would recommend this cafe if anyone would like to try boba. One thing i find sweet is that the staff remember my order, i always order taro with boba and whipped cream and its nice for someone to remember what you order. I love this cafe and i would recommend it! 5 stars<3

We got the mango shaved ice made with oatmilk and the vietnamese coffee. It was yummy and the staff was very friendly! I can't wait to try more flavors and drinks.

I got the mango bingsu and chose the lychee jelly and boba as my two toppings. It would be nice if they offered some fruit as topping options and gave less of each topping but allowed more than two options per bowl.

Absolutely LOVE Zen Cafe! It’s a hidden gem in Richmond and very addicting. They have great boba and the shaved snow is some of the best I’ve had on the east coast!

Everybody is very nice and I love the boba. My favorite thing to order is the Matcha Latte with milk cap and tapioca. Very good seasonal drinks. I like the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere too.

This place is ok, some times hit or miss. I think some ppl there use too much powder and it can make the drinks gritty. Most ppl working there are pretty good at making the drinks though

Loved the drinks! I also loved the little plushies and anime stickers they had around! There is outdoor seating and a varied menu, like slushies, teas, and yogurt drinks. During my experience, the staff was polite. An all around great experience.

Great experience for my very picky child who wanted to try something new for the first time in a long time. Peach oolong tea with Boba and Matche Latte with Strawberry Boba was a great refreshing treat.

So thankful that a friend recommended Zen Cafe to cater the boba bar for our daughter’s engagement party! Brandon was professional, on-time and attentive. My daughter and fiancée even had a tasting there beforehand and selected three types of teas (oolong milk tea, and taro with the tapioca boba and white peach tea with aloe vera jelly ). Brandon delivered teas in disposable gallon containers, provided plenty of boba and jelly and gave great instructions so that the tapioca boba wouldn’t harden or stick (put it in a crock pot on low and stir occasionally). He brought extra ice, straws, cups and arrived exactly when he said he would. It was such a relief since I’m not a boba drinker and wasn’t sure how to make this work. It was a hit with so many compliments. Super thankful and definitely recommend them to anyone considering hosting a party with boba.

This is the best tea and treat shop in the Greater Richmond Area! It's me and my fiance's favorite spot right now. I've tried and loved the Grapefruit tea and Lychee tea ($5) and the Matcha Shaved Ice with chocolate filled wafers and custard pudding and condensed milk ($8). Everyone there has always been in good spirits, and the decorations are cozy. Go there with someone you like and surprise them with a hidden gem!

Stopped in today with my husband for the first time, we absolutely loved our teas. I got a tiger milk tea with boba and my husband had peach oolong tea with honey popping boba. They had a lot of flavors of popping boba available, and the tapioca pearls were so tender and chewy, absolutely perfect. The woman at the counter was super nice, and the menu had a great variety of options. The inside of the shop is super clean and cute. If I have one critique it's just that their signage isn't very eye-catching, so even though I was right in front of it, I didn't see it right away. Same with the logo on the door, it's a nice logo but just doesn't *pop*. Will 100% be back!

Great customer service! We were greeted when we came in and they were happy to answer our questions; friendly staff. Ordered the avocado slush with 50% sugar. It's my go to flavor and have had it in many other places. This is by far the best avocado slush with boba I've had! It has a subtly sweet avocado taste - so good!

It’s has an amazing flavor! And the boba balls are really great it’s 10/10 for me they have many kinds of boba drinks and slushie with other boba colors! They also have an amazing anime decorticates I would recommend going to there :)!
