Our son and his now-wife had their rehearsal dinner at 1995 Eatery a couple of weekends ago. We are from near Boston Massachusetts so we can easily get excellent Italian cuisine, yet the food at 1905 compared very favorably. We especially loved the marinara sauce… and we are picky about sauce! We also had several in our party who eat gluten free, which was not problem at all as there was GF pasta and stuffed peppers among other offerings. The service was fantastic… they worked extremely well and cheerfully under the pressure of a large crowd of 50-something people. It was a truly memorable evening, thank you 1905 Eatery!

Don't shy away from this place because of the shady neighborhood. This is my new absolute favorite Italian restaurant. Authentic, made from scratch hearty Italian dishes, served up right! No cork fees either.

This family owned Italian restaurant is absolutely amazing the food is made fresh everyday! The Chicken Marsala is out of this world! If you’re into Italian food this place is definitely for you!

Well worth the detour to come here. Delicious food: chicken Marsala. Chicken Parmesano. And a slice of Italian almond cake. Best Italian food I've had in a long time.

This was quite a delicious discovery. We happened to be seeing a film about two blocks away and we're looking for something to eat. Unassuming place as you walk in as we had no idea what kind of food they served. The young man working was quite courteous and provided wonderful service. Loved EVERYTHING about this place. From Frank Sinatra and the original tin ceilings, we were so impressed by the atmosphere and food. The FOOD ! I ordered the Pasta with Olive Oil and Garlic with Anchovies and my boyfriend had the Lasagna Rolls. It was incredibly fresh and authentic. Quite amazing portions as we were able to take half of our dinners home. Treat yourself to some SERIOUSLY DELICIOUS and AUTHENTIC Italian food here. You won't regret it!!

Good service, the server was hustling which I really appreciated, food was excellent, the fact they include bread and soup or salad with the entree makes it very reasonable pricing. Food itself was delicious- just as good as what we had in Italy. I had the chicken piccata which hit the spot, loved the sauce and capers and super tender chicken. The pasta Alfredo was so tasty it moved my pregnant wife to tears so you KNOW it’s good!! Definitely worth a visit 👍

This place is a hidden gem for sure, I’ve driven past it hundreds if not thousands of times. Finally stopped in and wow, one of the best meals I’ve ever had, service was great, owner was great, the chef, man that guy knows what he’s doing. If you haven’t, you need to eat here

How did I not know about this place?? It’s old school Pittsburgh Italian at its finest!! Unassuming atmosphere that grows on you once you settle in. Fantastic menu matched by the outstanding quality & amazing taste of the food!! We did the stuffed peppers along with beans & greens👍to start. Everyone loved what they ordered. Freshly made linguine with flavorful sauces; just like your Italian momma made! Zero fee BYOB was great. But the pièce de résistance was the lemon 🍰 cake!! Divine. Efficient service & a visit from the owner made the night quite remarkable & worth the trek to the rocks!

Food was really good. A lot of Italian restaurants I've been to were not as good as this places food! You get a really good amount of food. I got the Gnocci and it came with either a salad or soup but i got the salad. The dressing was homemade and delicious. The Gnocci was amazing. Everyone working was all so friendly! Definitely recommend going to this place and we definitely will be back.

Yes! After years of trying, I finally found my husband a great Italian restaurant. The food is delicious, authentic, and high-quality. I really enjoyed meeting Miss Debbie, Miss Jessica, and Mr Carmene, and my husband said he felt like he was back in Italy, at home, and surrounded by family. His years in the Navy taught him to appreciate the best of the best, especially while he was deployed in Sicily. And best of all, we made two new friends, Miss Charlotte and Mr Lino, while we ate dinner. Update: we finally got the chance to come back, and it was even better! We loved our Veal Tara and Penne con Sausage, and the canoli cake and Limoncello cake were amazing too. Julian's customer service skills are phenomenal -- we felt very welcome and valued. Dave and Carmine took extra care to make sure our dinners were seasoned to perfection. Another 5-star experience, since 6 was not an option.

Excellent in all areas. Food was delicious. Best greens and beans we've ever had. Sauce on my pasta tasted like it was made from fresh tomatoes. No room for dessert, but will make another visit soon.

Nice little Italian place on the corner of a main street. The cook the linguini noodles *very* aldante...so, if you don't like that, you probably should ask up front for them to be cooked a bit longer. I'm guessing they can accommodate.

Top to bottom…..service, food, atmosphere all amazing. Owner came out and toasted limencello with us. Just a great local place. 10/10 if ten were am option!

Excellent food, great quality but expect a long dinner.

The prices are high, but the portions are very big. My Dad and I split our chicken parmesian dinner, ordered another side -salad, and got tiramisu. It was plenty of food for us both and very good. The total bill was about $40. It is also BYOB, and there was no extra fee for that. The atmosphere is nice, and the decor is decent. It's very old school, and so is the owner. He was very nice, but is just him, and the cook working there from what we saw. (Sunday evening, not very busy) So, don't expect super fast service. Overall, it was a nice time, and we were both glad we went.

This place is absolutely awful. Do NOT eat here! Salad never came out. Sauce appeared watery as if it was thawed frozen sauce. Just not sure how anyone gave this above 2 stars, honestly! $30 per person? Pittsburgh you deserve better!

Had an amazing time here. We had reservations right at 4:00 when they opened because we had a 7:00 show. The owner greeted us as soon as we got there. Server was attentive and service was timely. AUTHENTIC Italian food!!!! Food was DELICIOUS. We ordered mussels as an appetizer. I ordered the clam sauce pasta as my main course and the wedding soup as a side. They do not skimp out on anything! My significant other had the chicken Romano with a salad as the side. Chicken was juicy and flavorful. We sat by the window. It was intimate and enjoyable. Please consider eating out here with your family or special someone! They’re also doing a seven fishes for Christmas Eve. I definitely recommend! Will be back.

Odd situation with the wait time for the basics, IE drinks (also got diet after asking for regular), bread service (it sat on the counter while the oil for it was delivered), etc. Not a good first visit experience.

Hands down best Italian I've had since moving here from Europe. I was absolutely blown away with how good it was and so was my daughter. I live an hour away and let me tell you, I will absolutely make the drive to come again....and again. I have already told several of my friends about it! The owner and staff are so friendly and welcoming. Don't hesitate. Go!

Small town eatery with authentic Italian food.

🔥 Penne Carbonara Was 10/10. Food was hot and ready for pickup. Soup was great and the bread was better than Mancini's !!!

Searching for a new favorite restaurant check out 1905 eatery!!!! Started with muscles and roasted vegetable appetizers!!! Like farm to table fresh!! Salads perfect chilled and fresh! I had a shrimp dish in a slightly spicy homemade red sauce wow!! Shrimp huge and perfectly prepared!! My wife and sister had the chicken marsala. Huge tender breasts with sides of pasta in white and red sauce superior!! A lemon cake and chocolate parfait type desert(cant remember the exact name) rounded out a truly fabulous meal!! The owner and wait staff were so inviting, you feel like you are in your own home except nobody ever prepared such exquisite food in my home!!!! Oh sorry mom!!! Thank goodness she doesn't have a smart phone !! As arnold said i'll be back!!!

Very kind servers, place got busy fast. No parking, but we used a side street. Food was excellent & tons of it but maybe a bit pricey for us.

Best roasted vegetables I've ever tasted. Branzino and parenting risotto were borh delish. I love that it's a BYOB♥️

Food was really good. We had 6:00 pm reservations. There were 6 in our party on a Tuesday night. At 8:00pm the lights were flashed and we were told they were closing. Guess we should have paid better attention to the website. Would definitely go back again, but not on a Tuesday 😁

Just took my family to one fantastic authentic Italian dinner! Everything we had was amazing! Very friendly owner and staff! He will never have an empty seat! You need to reserve your table mow! Thank you for such a wonderful evening!

1905 Eatery! Broadway Ave. McKees Rocks. Who would have thought McKees Rocks is becoming a Foodies destination. Deb took my order over the phone, and served me when I got there. She made me feel like I was a regular, which I am going to be. Had the Steak Salad. A mix of lettuces, roasted vegetables, and steak ( medium) cooked to perfection. Wedding Soup (Oh My) and Lemon Cake for dessert. First time I had lemon cake....It is habit forming! Enjoy! PS. I should have mentioned the Bread.

Great traditional Italian food. Large portions, but kinda pricey. It is BYOB which helps with the bill.

There were 10 of us… We enjoyed every bit of our meal. The service was good the booths against the wall or very low, they need replaced but other than that it was worth every penny. Price is excellent for the quality of the food!

1905 Eatery is my favorite Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh. I always order the eggplant Parmesan. It is a generous portion and comes with bread & oil, salad and an enormous serving of pasta with marinara. My favorite dessert is the Italian lemon cake. It’s heavenly! BYOB is an added plus. The staff, including the cook, waitresses and the owner, couldn’t be nicer. Carmine, the owner, has greeted us at the door many times with a smile and gentle hug. They make you feel like family. Visit 1905 Eatery soon. You won’t be sorry.👍🏻🍷🍆

Fantastic, not only did we have a great meal, we met the nicest people sitting next to us. Service just like the food was excellent. I can't wait to go back. Our server was Debbie, she told us to make reservations next time. We were very lucky to be seated quickly on a Friday night.

1905 has the best Italian food in Pittsbugh. The veal is outstanding...stuffed banana peppers are superb and the wedding soup is as good as it gets. Porrions are more than adequate so there's something to take home. And its its all served up n a cozy atmosphere with great service and reasonable prices.

The food is the best Italian food I have had in Pittsburgh. It is a place you will want to return to- seemed like there were regulars there. The service was fine but not the friendliest.

Everything tonight was fabulous !! What a wonderful meal the 1905 Eatery was exactly what I wanted to take my husband to celebrate an early Valentines meal ... The atmosphere was calm friendly and warm nothing stuffy ... made you feel so welcome from the minute we walked in!! Thank you and we will definitely return..

I almost hate to let people know how great this place is because that will make it even harder to get a seat. Its so great.

Pricey food however many menu items 86ed because they are to lazy to keep in stock. Very disappointed. 1/2 the menu was not available last time I was there this shows a decline in business and very limited hours.

This was my first time there. Had a nice lunch with friends. Some things on the menu that I might have liked, were not available. The service was very good though.

Portions are large and the price is moderate. Food is good but not spectacular. Better than the Olive Garden but not as good as Piccolo Forno. Worth checking out if you are in the area.

We just ate a late lunch/early dinner and loved it. I had 2 appetizers as my meal: Eggplant sliced very thin and beans and greens. My husband had the chicken romano and pasta with wedding soup. All items were delicious. We also had great bread with dipping sauce. We will return with wine next time. Also stopped at the bakery before our meal for just a few cookies. We've never had cookies this good before.
