California burritos - carne asada, fries, guac, spicy salsa and chips. They give you a free meal up to a week before your birthday too so that’s a nice little bonus.

We decided to try it for breakfast burritos and my burrito was cold, as if it was heated on a microwave not totally hot. When I asked to heat it up they replied they couldn’t because I had touched it with my hands. Disappointed to have been given a cold burrito that was not even sealed

FANTASTIC flavors. My absolute favorite is the Surf and Turf burrito, but everything we've had here is so good. The owners put their love in every dish. I highly recommend it.

So good! I’ve been missing Cali-Mex food and this hit all the buttons…felt like I just pulled thru Roberto’s back in SD! Will definitely be back again and again.

Burrito was mediocre, all rice and barely any meat in the burrito. I had high hopes.

The food is great but the seats are terrible and the service is hit or miss. I had originally given this location a 5 star rating, however although the food is still good the restaurant has not done anything to improve the atmosphere. The lights are obnoxiously bright, the seats are small and hard and very uncomfortable

Enjoyed lunch with family at this little place. Ordered 2 Carne Asada burritos that came w/chips, the 5 rolled taquitos meal, and my son had the Baja burrito. All very good, decent size burritos & authentic to the southern Cali style that I'm remember, know, & miss. This is my new go-to place for when I'm craving that California style food. If you've ever visited & eatin Mexican food in southern Cali. then you know what I'm talking about. And if you've never visited, then go here, and you'll get a close enough experience to the style of burritos Cali as to offer in Texas. Very satisfying, good, and delish. Next time i go, i will be making a special request to get a carne asada California style burrito, which is a tad bit different from just a regular style carne asada burrito. Oh, and they have weekly specials too; the Monday special was 3 dollar bottle beers. Will be coming back fo-sho...

Best damn burrito I have had in years!! Where has this place been hiding..?

Food is mid. Service mid. on other hand, they like to report the drivers from Uber eat, doordash and other platform, I do not understand why they do that. And now none driver accept order from this store so costumer have to wait more when order Food by this platform. Stop doing this and order will be pick it up faster so costumer will be happier

I gave 5 stars for an uber eats order. But when i went through the drive thru at 7:54 i was told they were closed. That is fine, but lets change the time on the website and google to 7:54. Will not be returning.

Honestly would drive from home (willis) to go here on the weekend. The California burrito was pretty good.

Here’s my honest review from a true Orange County girl/SoCal native living in Houston. It all starts by asking; Hey Siri where can I find carne asada fries ? And we stumbled across this place well over my town. Upon arrival, I had already glanced at the menu on the website and was eager to try the margaritas and the free Paloma given on Sundays. The cashier stated there was no alcoholic drinks able to be made at the moment and it was a large setback for my first experience. I’m assuming it’s because the employees were well under 21 years old to prepare such drinks, I hope there can always be a person ready to serve alcohol at any given time. Our order consisted of carne asada fries, a California burrito and a horchata drink. Here’s my food review right at a glance; The portion of the fries is huge and definitely one to be shared, I was just thrown off by the amount of queso that smothered the fries. Back home I typically saw these with a lot of shredded melted cheese, so I should’ve gone the nachos instead. The burrito was huge and also made for sharing, I do think it needs a tad more of seasoning. The amount of meat was good and the side of chips was appreciated but we did not have enough room to even finish them. My biggest setback has to be the horchata drink, it’s definitely from concentrate and I was truly expecting something house made. It was thick, heavily sweet and entirely not an horchata to be served alongside the great menu options offered. As the company name states cali/mex I was baffled to see how those two words are used to describe the style of food and all the drinks for aguas frescas are artificial. I really wish using these concentrates are temporary, I highly recommend just to order a bottled glass drink instead. Overall the portions are worth the prices, it was clean and I’m glad the burrito district is bringing the food concept you can typically find in Southern California and similar to the amazing tacos found across the border in cities such as Tijuana. *This is definitely not CDMX style though.* I will continue to speak highly of this place to everyone I know.

Generous portion size. The seating is nice and similar to Chipotle. A little on the pricey side at $12 a burrito, although it is enormous and comes with chips.

A very beautiful surprise. I recently dined at Burrito District Tex-Mex and had an exceptional experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors that took my taste buds on a delightful journey. Burrito District Tex-Mex has definitely become one of my favorite spots, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic Tex-Mex meal. Clean inside, went through the drive thru for breakfast about 1030am on a Monday. I’m happy they have a drive thru! Ordered a burrito and was given small thing of chips & lil salsa with it with napkins. I’ll come back! Looks nice a decent nice place and it has a drive through!

Not sure if the owners have changed or what but this place is not what I remember from a few months ago, I was in the area and thought ooooh I need to grab me a burrito! Swung by and got my usual surf and turf add guacamole, first thing is a noticed the price has gone up significantly, for a burrito and a fountain drink it was almost 20 bucks. The food on the other hand was not what I remembered, like the way it was put together and the steak they use was really chewy and the shrimp on the burrito tasted really fishy, also the extra money I paid for guacamole they put it all on one end of the burrito it was cold to the touch on that end of the burrito. very sad, not sure if a off day or what.

I've been wanting to come here for a while. I heard they had Cali style Mexican food. I got a chicken and steak bowl, and my daughter got a California burrito with added beans and lettuce. We both had so many unchewable piece of steak in our meals that we didn't want to finish it. In fact, I ate more than I wanted to, just trying to see how many ligaments were in my food. Couldn't do it. Disappointed and won't be back because of that. The chicken was alright. Best to play it safe and get a no meat burrito. The staff were polite. The place is casual and clean.

The owner is pretty good at WoT, I am sure he is good at burritos too

Love coming here! The food never disappoints! Highly recommend trying the current special burnt ends burrito oh my goodness it had so many delicious flavors! Bonus the michelada hit the spot and on point! This place has so many great things on the menu I can’t wait to try them all!!

Burritos here are better than Chipotle's.

WORST wrapped burrito I have ever had, fell apart immediately after picking up

Today was our first time visiting and it was fantastic! I had a Diablo Shrimp burrito and my husband Carne Asada Burrito. Bothe were delicious and huge! The service was friendly and fast! Definitely going back and want to try breakfast.

This is one of the best burrito places I've ever been. I've had almost everything on the menu now, and there is nothing bad. They have the best breakfast food around, but recently, I went in and tried the quesadilla, and it was amazing. I also had the jalapeño cheese fries, one of my favorite things on the menu. I highly recommend this place.

1st time visiting and ordered the AL Pastor with a bottle Coke. Right ratio of onion and tomato in Pico along with the cilantro. Great choice

My favorite neighborhood burrito spot. They have great loyalty program where you get free food so I recommend signing up. Good food and to go margs! I will say - be careful of the spicy salsa cause it is hot!!! But good!

Unfortunately I had a bad experience yesterday I went to this place to eat a girl from the back area went out to the bathroom as she passed by, her sweat was unpleasant. My question, hygiene is essential. Truth and another girl in the kitchen area touching her face made me sick. This should be more selective. I asked the cashier and he just smiled saying that one of these people, the head chef, was very bad.

There was a decent amount of gristle in the carne asada quesadilla. My boyfriend got the Cali burrito & loved it.

I'm sad to report that the food is not that good. I ordered a burrito and a taco plate. Considering the price paid, the meat had a lot of gristle and fat. I don't recommend it.

District 5 is ALWAYS delicious! Love that they are always consistently GREAT! Mexican coke. Love this place!

This is a hard one to post. The Carne Asada Fries were not good. Meat is unseasoned and I literally had to spit out half the meat because it was straight up gristle. My SO swears by their breakfast burritos though. If we go back, it will be for breakfast. The service was very good. Workers were polite and friendly.

I ordered a California burrito off Uber eats and I just had to come to their site to make a review cause this is LITERALLY THE BEST BURRITO I EVER HAD. And for the price. I love yall. The same burrito at another restaurant cost more and still doesn’t taste as good as yall. Thankyou 😂💙💙

The best breakfast burrito that money can buy and it's not expensive. My mind was blown with the size of the burrito that I received for 9 dollars, plus the burrito came with chips and salsa. Whenever I'm even close to this spot, I'll be back for sure.

I'm from Southern California & this place was a slice of home. The only place I could find carne asada fries & the didn't let me down. Also had the shrimp diablo burrito, the spice was there! Jamaica & pineapple margarita best I've had in Houston. Definitely going back for the California burrito.

Had the breakfast burrito(bacon and egg one) with mango juice, it was delicious definitely try this place out.

service was quick! & we were checked on - great customer service. food is amazingggggg. we have been searching for cali-mex and found it! burrito was huge & flavorful. carne asada fries were also huge - a whole platter. the drinks were freshly made/shaken. sooo smooth and strong! jimaca margarita whaaaat! so good. both marg’s were smooth and on point! we will come back! they have a drive thru and small eating area inside - 6 tables and a bar area. they also have drink specials daily!

Phenomenal burritos. Had the Lone Star and the Carne Asada, everything was fresh and hot. The food came out very quickly, and that chipotle mayo was a great touch on the burrito. Will definitely be back

Holy Moley! Can we just all give a round of applause to the only place in town we know of that serves LEGIT California Mexican food?! My goodness! My husband suggested we try this place and we are now officially fans. While we enjoy the local Mexican food in Houston, Tex-Mex isn’t our jam. Him being a military man stationed everywhere, most fondly in San Diego, and me being a San Diego native, we’re soooo thankful this place opened up right down the street. The food is AMAZING, real authentic California Mex. A little pricey but what isn’t nowadays? And besides, this is what we’d expect to pay at a taco shop in Oceanside, CA. The portions are huge, too! Awesome place, we will definitely be back! PS- If you offer real, legit Carne Asada fries, you’re an A++ establishment in my book! EDITED TO ADD: I decided to downgrade this place to 4/5 stars. We really do like this restaurant a lot, but lately for the past few months, the quality of the steak in the California and Carne Asada burritos has gone downhill. Lots of gristle and cartilage in the meat, and it’s a major turnoff. It’s almost a consistent thing now, when we order there, to be prepared for every burrito we eat to have a good amount of gristle in it. Please consider improving the standards and quality of the meat you use, guys!

They make great burritos. I am looking forward to trying there breakfast burritos. Google shows that they open at 8am but they don't open until 10am. They should fix that.

Great place to eat. Excellent burritos and they are gigantic. We stopped here for lunch on a Saturday and the place was packed. Always a good sign. The staff were very courteous and made us feel at home. We will go back. If you haven’t been you must go and try it. You won’t regret it, believe me.

Amazing burritos and they are HUGE. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Houston to go try while you’re there. WORTH IT. Went again a year later and still good (photos below).

The restaurant is clean, employees friendly, prices reasonable, food was delicious! We had the flauta plate, and the taco plate- perfect! The hot sauce was HOT! And the mild sauce was mild.
