4 Rivers is some of the best BBQ in town. The pulled pork and burnt ends are our favorites. The place is clean and the staff is helpful. Prices are fair. They even have a bakery inside. They are closed on Sunday.

I usually have nothing but good things to say about 4Rivers. However, I visited this particular 4Rivera and the food was awful. I requested pork belly burnt ends which I had not seen on the menu before . I received some mushy overly sauced beef burnt end that had been sitting in the warmers too long and had become a shredded mess. The cornbread was dry and hard. The coleslaw was warm, scared to eat that. The beans were good but that’s it. No forks so my group ate with spoons. The place was practically empty so I’m not sure why they didn’t have it together. Won’t be back to this location.

Always exceeds EXCELLENCE in all 3 categories! The very few times that there was a mistake on an orderi order for my company "lunch-ins" quite often),management goes Above & Beyond to make it right!

The staff at the front counter were very pleasant and friendly. Easy to order and there was no wait to get our food. Pulled pork, BBQ salad, sausage sandwich, and pork plate, all were seasoned well and the portions were plentiful. Plenty of space to eat indoors or outside in the covered patio area. The inside seating area needs better air flow. It was really hot, even though they had floor fans (very loud), it was unpleasant to eat... there was a better breeze outside.

The brisket tacos were AMAZING! The staff was very friendly, helpful and they kept the place clean. I was expecting a fancy sit down place, but was pleasantly surprised to walk in and see an order line and window. They also have a bakery inside (which I will definitely try next time!). Community seating was awesome. Fun atmosphere. Delicious food. Awesome staff. Definitely get your butt over there ASAP. (Make sure to check the hours, my bf and I did forgot and walked in a few minutes before close - but they happily served us anyway). Thank you, and we will be back!

We have had remarkable service and experiences with 4Rivers Orange Park. I wish the prices didn't have to go up, but it's worth spending the money for the consistency. ****We had take out so am not rating Atmosphere****

Delicious, tender meat. Decent pricing, too. I like that they will let you sample the meat before buying. My boyfriend and I shared a Cowboy Combo platter. So far this is the best BBQ meat I have tried in Jax. 🤤😋❤️

4 River's has been my go to BBQ place for my family for the last couple months,we always get take out, but today was the worst customer service ever. The young lady that prepared our meal, was missing lots of food items,and when I addressed it she continued to come with excuses why she couldn't fix it. Finally the manager give me our sides,but when I got home it was still missing the 2nd meats for 3 meals 😢. It was closing time but still service your customer's without attitude and excuses. My meal was $79.31 with a incomplete order,and poor service. Ohhhh she gave me 2 thin dried out pieces of turkey and said she couldn't replace it until I went back and forth with her about changing it or get a manager. When I ask for my money back she said WHAT with her back turned to me. So I repeated myself. After all of this 4 RIVERS is still my family number 1 BBQ Spot. I would like the manger to address this issue with that staff person, and maybe she needs some customer service training.

Employees are polite and funny to talk with. Food was awesome....will definitely be back soon....

This restaurant is really good. The problem is the portions size. In my opinion, they are not worth what you pay for. I got the 2x2. Brisket and the smoked turkey. I was extremely disappointed in the amount of meat. In fact, they actually weigh the meat and remove it if there is any extra on the tray. I think this place would be a huge success if they would up their portion size. Right now, it's not worth your money. This tray with a drink is almost $30 dollars.

The food is always fresh and tasty. I've always purchased thin end size ribs. The staff are very pleasant. I only wish they would periodically have specials on ribs and chicken.

We love the Orlando location and make the 50 minute drive to University Blvd to eat there frequently. We were coming home from a trip and on 295 and saw there was a 4Rivers and decided to stop. It was 7:10 on a Saturday night- they close at 8:00- we were not sure if they were going to be in “shut down” mode. THEY WERE NOT!! Full on greetings, courtesy, and more food coming out than most other BBQ places serve when they are busy! I ordered the 2 meet plate- lean brisket and smoke turkey. Sides of greens and sweet potatoes. Hubs ordered a Cuban sandwich, and two sides of beans & cole slaw. My meat plate was amazing! The brisket was so lean, I literally had an almond sized piece of fat, and that was it. So tender it just fell apart. I used some of the signature sauce on it, man, that was a treat to my mouth. After that the smoked turkey was consumed, and it was very good, but not nearly as good as that brisket!!! (Wonder if they would have traded me the turkey for more brisket?) the greens were really good with nice chunks of meat. The sweet potatoes were very sweet, too sweet for my liking but I have been avoiding sugar so it may just be me. Hubs Cuban sandwich was really large! He did not think it was pressed and I didn’t see any press marks, but the cheese was melted. He said it was good, but could have used a bit more meat for amount of bread. Both of his sides were good. We got a bread pudding to split for dessert. We both agreed that the bread pudding was a little sweet, but it was good. We both love 4Rivers- the mission, the founders story, the wholesome atmosphere, all of it. Definitely will be back- at least to the Orlando location- soon!

I finally tried their BBQ and it is amazing. I have a food allergy and Devin was patient going through their food allergy menu and ensuring that I could safely eat without allergens. It is so nice to have an allergen friendly and knowledgeable place with staff that cares.

Great experience all the time. I was really impressed with Andrew's talk before shift. Very uplifting and truly sincere. Having worked for an absolute monster boss for almost 30 yrs. Its refreshing to hear a manager treat his staff so well.

I generally like this place. Today I picked up a Farmhouse Salad which is always fresh and cold, just as it should be. I generally also order the coop tenders and it has to be the absolute BEST chicken I have ever had in my life. It was full of flavor and very juicy. I eat here at least once a week and they never disappoint me!

Andrew is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He knew it was our first visit and made sure it was a great one! The whole restaurant is so clean and the atmosphere is wonderful. The food tasted amazing. I highly recommend the ribs and jalapeño cornbread. My family will definitely be back very soon to try even more of the delicious menu!

We stopped for a midweek lunch. There plenty of customers but the line went quickly. The staff was efficient snd got us checked out in a reasonable time. The star loss for atmosphere is because we aren’t fans of the community long tables and all the booths were taken. Be that as it may, our food was all good. The drink station was orderly. So just because we prefer a separate table we still enjoyed our lunch and will return. I wish their rewards process was in app form because it is somewhat clunky as it is. Overall: all good. BBQ good. Sides good. Go there.

Dined in with friends from out of town. We had 10 chicken wings, 1 pulled pork sandwich, 1 green bean, 1 mac and cheese, and 1 chicken tender sub with BBQ for $51. The food was cold and unappetizing. The green beans tasted like they came out of a can and were overcooked. The mac and cheese was cold and tasted like it was made from a box. The staff kept getting orders mixed up, and I had to wait 20 minutes for my chicken tender sub, even though four people were working the line. I won’t be coming back. I’d rather go to a Chinese buffet with fresh vegetables and a hibachi bar for one-third of the cost. Very disappointed with 4 Rivers Smokehouse, 220 Park Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073.

Here is a honest review. Food was ok. We got the 3 meat combo. Sausage was good. Turkey was good but dry. Pulled pork was ok and dry. Fries were good. Nothing special about the mac and cheese. Sweet potatoes casserole was just plain sweet potatoes luke warm Nothing like a sweet potato casserole at all. I did try the cherry bbq sauce, very sweet. Taste was good. Prices were on point with other bbq places. But mostly we will not return. Staff was very polite and friendly.

This restaurant has diners line up at the counter, order food and pay at the end with self serve drink machines. Our party if four waited nearly 20 minutes while the cash registers reset from a power fluctuation. To the restaurant's credit, the staff tried to keep our food hot, but it was warm at best. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre. Pulled pork and brisket were extremely greasy, ribs were dry, and all the food was heavily salted. The baked cheese grits were inedibly dry, and collards were below average although the mac and cheese was good. We will not be returning.

NASTY AND DRY Absolutely horrible experience. $80 for a gang of TRASH.. chopped to $h!t brisket, all the meats dryer than a las Vegas summer, and I know, I used to live there. I'm angry. I wasted my time twice. Once to earn the money and once to spend it on food I'll feed the dog outside. Not never again in life will I ever spend another dime here.. sell me KFC Mac n cheese like it was your own... it's disgusting at their establishment. Great food. Had the family of four platter: brisket moist, pulled pork, half chicken, ribs, greens, Mac, cornbread. Added wings. Everything was terrific. Wings didn’t even need the sauce they sent home with us.

Probably best BBQ in or near Jacksonville. Proportions for price are way better than Sonnys or other local joints. Way more selection for deserts and plates. 3 Meat Cowboy meal fed 2 people.

We went to pick up our wedding cake sampler on Saturday. Turns out, the order was placed for the other Jacksonville 4 Rivers Smokehouse location. Melissa and Megan were quick to assist us with understanding and care. They quickly made us a cake sampler and gave us free drinks while we waited. Great experience! :)

As a Memphis transplant, I am very picky about my barbecue. Most barbecue joints in Jacksonville serve nothing more than glorified roadkill. However, 4 Rivers is absolutely outstanding! Highly recommended.

Honestly we've had gift cards for a while. And so glad we have more. The food was amazing some of the best brisket in town. We will definitely be returning, and soon!! Very tasty and a hearty sandwich.

Loved the food! Brisket choice of fatty or less fatty, something for everyone. Everyone loved the baked beans since they have bit of burnt ends inside. The ribs were good too. The chicken was a little salty and dry. The coleslaw was the best I’ve had in a very long time and the sweet tea was on point. Price and serving sizes were great. The three of us were full so we could not try the delicious looking bakery items. My favorite was the cornbread!

Pretty good bbq. They should remove the name burnt-ends from that one dish. Once you have had real burnt-ends you will understand. But everything was pretty ok good. No Coke products.

Always love the food at 4Rivers, but they need to provide more help for the To-Go staff. There was a single person preparing orders during the lunch rush for people who had ordered online, paid, and were waiting for their food. When I arrived to pickup my order (order #30399947), there was a bag sitting on the back counter that was ready to go. I waited for a bit for the lady to complete the next order and give it to a waiting customer. She asked for my name and then told me it would be 10 minutes. She finished another couple of orders and then asked for my name again and handed me the bag that had been sitting on the counter the entire time I was waiting (around 15 minutes). The lady preparing the orders was doing her best, but she was set up for failure. In the future, I'll either order from the counter like I usually do or just avoid lunch at 4Rivers altogether.

I loved the ribs, I loved the hot bbq sauce. I am a person who likes kinda dry and “burnt” meat and they are as close as I can get it. The fries are nasty personally and the Mac and cheese is basic but edible.

Yes.... Finally, a BBQ place that just does it right! First off, the brisket was just done to perfection! I got the flat a real testament to how good it is cooked. Perfection just cooked enough to make the meet still have some texture, but still have enough pull to give the meet consistency and flavor. Finally, it was not cooked to the point where the meat was dry! Next, there were the burnt ends!! Some places get these all wrong. Here they were surprisingly good, crunch on the outside and tender inside! Just heavenly taste every bite! Finally, they pulled pork. Yes, it was outstanding! The tables have an assortment of BBQ sauce, but this BBQ does not need it at all! Left completely satisfied and looking to return for more during my stay!
