My first, but will be the first of many, visit to Al Shish Kabob. This food was fresh, perfectly seasoned and delicious. The regular hummus was exceptionally tasty but the garlic hummus was amazing! We had chicken kabobs were the grilled veggies (yummy) and I had the lentil soup which may be the best I’ve ever enjoyed. I’m so happy this restaurant is available.

This place came highly recommended, but I was highly disappointed. It was as if no effort was put into making this dish. Hard, crunchy pita bread with extremely dry meat with a dabble of vegetables sprinkled in and no sauce. This rice was pathetic, too. I don't know how to describe how bad it tasted. The service was prompt, so there's that.

I have eaten here and had take out several times. Ozzy and his staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is amazing and fairly priced. I recommend this place to everyone who loves Mediterranean food. It is a quaint little place.

Great food and the friendliest people he was polite and always checking on us ...he also was explaining what everything was very friendly owner and the best food I've had in a while if you like exquisite Mediterranean food this is the real deal a lil pricey but you won't regret it at all I promise I would give it 10 stars but that's no option please try it

A nice place to visit with families and friends, delicious Halal food and a clean environment. The staff is very cooperative and concerned about the food quality and customer satisfaction. Must visit if you are in Hattiesburg and want a good Halal cuisine

Randomly chose this place without looking at reviews or being from the area(we live about 2 hours away from Harrisburg). And we are so happy we did! The service was phenomenal! Mr Bill helped up with the ordering and we were so surprised by how flavorful and authentic everything was! We ordered a lot of food and everything was fantastic but the ones that really stood out for us was the garlic dip, the salmon hummus, and the combo platter. We cannot wait to go back!

I've been a regular at this Mediterranean restaurant for quite some time now, and it never fails to amaze me with its delicious and authentic cuisine. Every week, I eagerly pick up my order. Emma, the hostess, deserves special mention for her warmth and hospitality. When it comes to the menu, I have my favorite go-to meals that never disappoint. The shish kefta plate, perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. The chicken shawarma plate/wrap, ghalaba plate and yemeni hot tea, that complements the meal perfectly. The hummus and garlic toum are fresh, authentic and delicious. For those planning a gathering with friends or family, this restaurant is an excellent choice. Their huge platters are perfect for sharing and add to the communal dining experience.

This place is unreal.. the minute I heard about it I wanted to try it out and I finally got to last night! I didn’t even order an entree because it was a late night decision, but I’m SO excited to go back and taste all the flavors!!! Even if you’re not adventurous when it comes to food and you need to try something you feel familiar with, nobody can do hummus like the M.E. and your taste buds will be hooked at the first scoop. I literally ate it with a spoon when I ran out of pita. 🤣 The serving sizes are massive, shareable for sure. I just finished the rest of my leftovers for dinner tonight. If you can’t tell, I am instantly crazy about this place and 10/10 recommend. The menu is huge so there is surely something for everyone. 😊 Hands down this is now my favorite restaurant in MS!

The food was alright overall. The lamb chops were really good, but the other meats seemed like they had been cooked the day before. The rice was good, and the hot tea was enjoyable. However, the interior of the restaurant needs a thorough cleaning. The menus had food on them inside. There was only one server who was responsible for greeting, waiting tables, clearing dishes, and handling the cash register. It seems like they need more staff to help with the dining service.

After so long my family enjoyed the perfect Mediterranean food . Food was super delicious and serving and atmosphere everything was on spot. It’s also halal. If you have to drive an hr or 2 to enjoy a perfect Mediterranean food , this is the place. If ever visit Mississippi again we will definitely visit again.❤️❤️‍🔥

The best Mediterranean food in Hattiesburg.

The food here is fantastic! This is a must place to eat for everyone. The food is fresh and delicious. We will drive to Hattiesburg just to eat here. So far everything on the menu is great. I love the shawarma sandwich, salad, garlic sauce and the rice! These are just a few of my favorites! Honestly anything you eat will be great I’m sure. Keep up the great work Al Shish Kabob!

I love a good local hole in the wall restaurant, and this is one of the best. The food is amazing & authentic. The service was wonderful. If you love flavor, then you have to go here. If you've never had Middle eastern type food, then order the chicken shawarma wrap. It's a great introduction to the flavors. Be sure to get it with tzatziki sauce!

Nice small restaurant. Service was good and the food was good. We had a plate for two, and it was more than enough. We took some with us.

This was a really nice experience. We ordered the combo platter in the picture. It included grilled lamb and chicken, lamb chops, shish kafta (grilled ground lamb with spices), lamb and chicken Shawarma (marinated and grilled meat), seasoned rice, grilled vegetables, and soup or salad. The salads were fresh with a mild oil and vinegar dressing. We also tried the lamb chill and lentil soup. Both soups were really good, and I particularly liked the lentil soup, which was creamy with unique spices. Lamb chops were the best I have ever had - very tender. My favorite meat was the shish kafta. The meal comes with pita bread and a wonderful garlic spread (think garlic butter). The hummus was also very good. The menu said the combo serves 4-6, but four of us ate at the restaurant and a second meal for 6 from our leftovers. I have been disappointed with some Mediterranean food in other restaurants, but this meal was awesome.

Waited in the parking lot for 40 minutes for them to open at 10:00 as the hours of operation were listed on their website. After 10 still not open so I called. She was rude, said “I’m not opening”. I told her you’re supposed to open at 10. She said, “well im not opening and I’m the only one here”. Will never return to this rude place good food or not because customer service is key.

This is the best Mediterranean Restaurant & one of the absolute best restaurants in the Hattiesburg area. Everything was incredibly delicious. I don’t normally like hummus, but theirs is to die for! And the lamb was exquisite!

I've gotten two dishes and I've enjoyed both! If you enjoy Mediterranean food or want to try something new you gotta try this place! The hummus was delicious and they gave me 2 different things I could add to change the flavor if I wanted. My gyro was with a slightly different bread than pita and I loved it. This restaurant is not the same as Petra it has its own flavors and better prices. The other fish I got has as amazing garlic sauce! I just forgot the name. Oh the fried were actually really tasty, like they weren't an afterthought. I tried 3 different soups my favorite being the lamb and vegetable soup, so comforting and rich.

Our first experience here was incredible. The owner was super kind and very obviously passionate about his food. He made us all kinds of different foods to try. We left STUFFED, and with leftovers. The flavors are so vibrant and not a single thing we tried was bad. I'm in love.

This seems to be a one man operation. He’s super friendly Don’t be in a hurry. Enjoy! The food is great. The garlic dip and the hummus have wonderful flavors. The lentil soup is the best. So hearty and warming. The pita is fresh and thin, perfect for dipping. We drove 75 miles to eat here and it was well worth it!!!!

The food was decent nothing really special but the service was outstanding. My waitress Emma will be the only reason that I would go back to dine again. Best service ever.

I have been to this restaurant before the food has always been good . But about a week ago I don’t what happened with the food it wasn’t the best at all. It’s like the cook had a bad day. But my waitress was the best shout out to Emma for making the best of the worst.

They make the best hummus I've ever had!!! It's so silky and flavorful!!! I oredered the chicken sautee and it was so packed with flavor! I'll be back again!!! Amazing food.

I’ve been in Hattiesburg for my entire college education and this is one of the best places I’ve ever eaten at. Food was absolutely amazing, service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was just so cozy. It’s the kind of restaurant you dream about at night and wake up with tears of happiness running down your face. I will be telling everybody I know about this place.

My family and I used to live in Saudi Arabia and have seriously been missing this kind of food and it was amazing. Super authentic, our server was so sweet as well. We were the only people in the restaurant for a long time which is a shame. If you are looking for middle eastern/mediterranean food look no further, this place is the best.

Al Shish Kabob is the best restaurant in H-Berg. We had The Big 6 Platter, the beef/lamb chops were so juicy and tender, seasoning was perfect! The hummus was delicious, even the rice had great flavor!I highly recommend trying the dessert..so GOOD. Restaurant is very clean and the staff are very friendly.

The food was so good we had eaten it all before I realized we didn't take pics! Today was our first time to visit and we were ordering takeout to go eat lunch with my sister. The owner was so so nice. He helped us decide on what to get. He gave us samples of the soups. Oh my gosh! The soups were all AMAZING! Lamb chili, lamb veggie and chicken veggie, all delicious! We had a sample of the hot tea. Really good! We got lunch specials of the Shish Tawook, the lamb Shish Kabob, chicken Shawarma and the beef Ghalaba. All of it was so delicious! The salads and rice that came with the plates were excellent too! We cannot wait to go back! I've got to try the baklava next time too! Go give them a try! I promise you won't be disappointed!

I normally go to Petra Cafe when I want shawarma, but I decided to give Al Shish Kabob a try. I got the lamb shawarma plate and the Lamb tasted like cinnamon. The rice had some pink stuff on it and it was semi sweet. The salad was good but I was not impressed with the food.

This place was absolutely amazing. There wasn’t a thing I ordered that wasn’t delicious! The owner was very friendly, the service was fast. The food came out fresh. The hot tea was amazing!! I highly recommend this restaurant. Friendly people, great food, great atmosphere. 10/10. I will definitely be a regular here from now on!

My husband and I ate here today after seeing it several times. It will definitely become a new spot for us. The hummus was wonderful and the chef gave us a complimentary new flavor to try! I ordered the Chicken Shish Tawook off the lunch menu with the lemon oregano seasoning. It was SO GOOD. I also got the rice and the chicken veggie soup and again, so good. The service was excellent and we had an overall great time for a great price! Definitely visit for a good meal!

The food was fantastic!!! Firstly, both the regular and spicy garlic small plates were the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot). All of the soups were fantastic, but the chilli lamb soup stole the show. The 4-6 person platter is as you see above with stellar presentation. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, juicy, and very tender. The shish tawook was also very tender and juicy. It was a great experience with great service. I am so glad this place opened up in Oak Grove. Update 11/2/23: Been here at least a dozen times and it's still just as amazing. The hospitality and quality is still unparalleled for H'burg. Owner is super nice and very generous. If you haven't been here yet, you must try!

The grind down beef kabab was good and tender. Only thing was a little too salty for my taste. The humus was homemade to excellence!! Great after taste!! Service was genuine and hospitable.

The food is phenomenal. Service is quick. This reminds me of Mediterranean food I have eaten while traveling. I especially loved the tahini and dill and yogurt sauce. I will be coming back!

Had an amazing lunch today. Still reasonably affordable and def has a different flair. The lamb was very good and tender. If you looking for something out of the norm and very well seasoned then this is your place.

The food here was absolutely amazing! I meant to take a picture of the kafta but my husband inhaled it. Definitely check them out if you're seeking authentic Arabic food! We will definitely be back soon!

So glad to have a Mediterranean/Mideast dining option in Oak Grove—I live out of town and this is our new go-to when we visit family. We have eaten here multiple times now and the food is spot-on each time. Wait staff and owner are super friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The baba ghanouj and hummus are perfect, salads are always fresh with house-made dressing, and shawarma is delicious. We will be back!

We got 2 pita wrapped lamb shawarma with the rice,lamb chili and lentil soup. Everything was very well seasoned and so so good.

This place is delicious! The hummus is smooth and almost creamy! The schwarma seasoning is on point. Fries and lamb were all good. Their garlic sauce is the best thing I've put in my mouth. Soup was amazing!
