Had the sorbet ( strawberry and lemon), a vanilla cannoli , and almond and pine nut pignolis (gluten free) . They were all excellent! The gelato portions are generous and the staff was helpful and friendly.

This was my grandmothers favorite place when she was little (1930-1940s) she used to talk about Brocato's all the time. Dinning in was pure nostalgia for me.

Seriously, take the time to swing by this famous hole in the wall whether you’re visiting or a local! LOVE this place!

Swung in earlier today to snatch up some pastries and it has been such a long time since my fiancé and I have had baked goods this good. Get the Napoleon and Tiramisu Cake 10/10

One of the most iconic dessert places in all of New Orleans. And incredible variety of desserts prepared fresh. If you want cannolis, expect to wait as they prepare them fresh for each order.

The gelato was delicious. I got the strawberry cheesecake and it was so sweet and creamy. All the other pastries looked so appetizing. The store is quite small but cozy. There was a line since we went on a Saturday evening. The wait isn't too bad and the service is great!

Amazing deserts anf icecream. We tried everything and will come again. Had the tiramissu, chocolate eclaire, a rum cake and 2 icecreams. Amazing.

Old school delight! Fabulous pastries and the Gelato looked amazing. Looks like it's been the same local Italian bakery forever! Very busy but the line went fast. Definitely a winner.

This place is an absolute gem with one of the best cappuccinos/iced cappuccinos in town. Gelato and pastries are always amazing… rainbow cookies (seasonal) are my personal favourite, and I’m picky. I’m writing this review to specifically combat the poor review left a few below mine. it’s really off the mark. to want an update to the decor means you probably want a whatever hipster bakery vibe — this place is a living piece of history and the decor is half of why i go & choose to dine in. don’t be dissuaded becos Brocato’s is wonderful and one of a kind.

Perfect for an after dinner retreat. Serious Patissier! Fresh, made to order small and large cannolis. Espresso, gelato, Italian ice, palmieri, so many fabulous desserts.

Gelato was just OK, tasted like regular icecream... clean, friendly environment

We made a quick pit stop here to grab something to cool off. I ordered the blood orange Italian ice which was super tasty and refreshing. It hit the spot with the warmer weather so I am happy that we got the chance to stop by this place.

The best part of this visit was the staff. They were all friendly, helpful, and did their best to keep the line moving. The food was not that impressive. The vanilla Gelato and the pastry cream inside of the Cream Horn were the only positive things. The outside shell of the cream horn tasted how you imagine the inside of the display case would. It was old, stale, and just tasted off. And my Tiramisu Gelato tasted like they just tossed in Coffee extract and called it a day. It was not good at all and went into the garbage with one bite out of it. $14 wasted. The building is old and you can tell. The smell hits you when you first walk in...just that old musty kind of smell. The decor(chairs, tables, shelf displays, etc) all need to be updated since it looks like my great-grandmother's house from the 1980s. I hate to sound this harsh, but for a place that is rated so high and was actually a finalist for a James Beard award......I'm really disappointed.

Excellent ice cream and plenty of flavors from which to choose. My favorite ice cream is rum raisin. Not many places serve this flavor these days, and it is almost impossible to find in grocery stores. Angelo Brocato has an excellent Rum Raisin.

A must stop if in New Orleans! Staff was fantastic and dessert was AMAZING!

Best desserts ever! Canoli was amazing, got Gelato as well and a double expresso. Expresso comes out of a golden machine that looks very cool also. Will be coming back

Nice place, but food is not so good how I expect

We ordered few items to try but unfortunately less than half of the items were good enough. Some of them were not fresh, some of them were made with poor recipe (tiramisu was dry and wet were it not needed and the cream was made of low quality fat). The Napoleon cake was good but the icing on top of it is way too sweet…

This is the real deal! I skip the tempting desserts in the case and get a freshly filled cannolo and a shot of espresso. Friendly staff, too! MANGIA!

One of the highlights of our trip to New Orleans, we made this a desert for dinner stop on our last night of vacation. The Gelato was delicious, the cappuccino and latte were perfect, and we enjoyed authentic lemon cream cakes, tiramisu, and cookies. The pecan melt aways were especially delicious. This is a definite must stop!

The pastries and cakes were amazing. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who likes good desserts. They are a bit on the sweeter side, so I would take that into account. The service was also very attentive and welcoming. There was a huge line the day we went there, so you might have to wait a bit before ordering

Hot chocolate was just what I needed

1905 people! If you have been making desserts for over 100 years you may know what you are doing. This is like a total old school pure Sicliano joy. Homemade everything. Off the chart gelato and ices, glorious cakes, pastries and cookies not to mention killer coffee. It’s a destination that you will love.

We were so happy to have found this gem! It was packed! There was a fairly long line running outside and down the way. So glad we waited. It was worth it! Everything was so good, the staff so friendly and the place is too cute! Definitely recommend!

Best place in nola for coffee and dessert

New to Nola and wanted a good cannoli. 2 coworkers said to try Brocato’s. Liked that they were not prefilled. However, I ordered 2 dozen and took them over 15 minutes to fill them even though lots of staff standing around. They have a nice presentation. Shell was crunchy and tasty but that is where I disliked the cannoli. I am used to ricotta filled and these were some type of cream on one side and a chocolate on the other. Also found them to be a bit pricey 45 dollars for a dozen large and small size 22 for a dozen. I will look at other bakeries before coming back.

Amazing Italian pastries! Amazing.

A legitimate New Orleans institution for over 115 years. Famous for their gelato, Italian ice, Sicilian baked goods and cookies. Their cannolis and Napoleons are a must. I can’t stop buy without grabbing at least a dozen mini cannolis and a couple large chocolate dipped cannolis with candied orange peels on the end. It’s fall so their Satsuma Ice is in stock, as well as their Pumpkin Gelato for Thanksgiving. I could list 20 more items that I regularly get, but you’re going to have to go in yourself and do some tasting to really discover the greatness of this place. Dine in and have a coffee and dessert after dinner, or just pick up a whole lotta goodness to bring home to share with family and friends. Their staff is like family, as would be expected with a family run institution. Don’t forget to tip, because their staff is always slammed and never do you get served without a smile from a gracious server. I hope this spot stays forever. They were hit bad during Katrina but reopened without changing a thing. To go to somewhere like Whole Foods to get anything trying to replicate what they serve here would be blasphemy. I mean it when I say this place is the truth. Do yourself a favor and check it out. The line moves quickly so you better come in and take the minimal wait time to carefully look over all the options and be ready to make some hefty decisions when you’re on the clock. Thank you Brocato’s staff. We love you!

Wow. So many choices, all delicious. Cute old school atmosphere, helpful staff that can help make recommendations. A must if you're near magazine street Don't forget to try a canoli. Super sweat but worth it. I don't have a pic of it because it disappeared so fast 😋

An incredible gem in NO and scrumptious cannoli. They make it fresh right there and take their time in perfecting it. They even offered ice water while I wait. I will be there for more during Thanksgiving.

Love this old school Gelato store. Really good flavours, especially enjoyed the pumpkin and the amaretto. The cakes look great too, hoping to try some in the future. It gets really busy but the line moves fast.

Best place for Gelato in the city!

A New Orleans classic! The gelato here is a must have. The praline was incredible, but the pistachio was absolutely divine. Don't miss out on the affogato, either -- espresso over a generous portion of gelato is the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. This place has so much character and it feels full of life. If you're here in March, be sure to check out the St Joseph's Day altar, an old Sicilian tradition kept alive in New Orleans.

Belisima pastry and treats. This perfect setting has a two teir seating arrangement that feels like your transported to the 1930s with a taste that is exactly authentic NY/NJ Italiano bakery. Recommend the terrapine. Clean tables and beautiful plate presentation.
