Delicious brick oven pizza!! Short menu but everything was perfect

Was sold on Wood fired Pizza. Such a simple menu done good .

Their pizza was phenomenal. We had the margarita, pizza and the white pizza. The service was exceptional. The waitress was very sweet and the chef CJ was on point. The pizza was a piece of art❤️ did I forget to say how delicious it was?❤️

I recently discovered my new favorite pizza place in Little Falls, NJ, offering delightful Neapolitan-style pizzas. Led by the skilled pizzaiolo CJ, each pie is crafted with precision and passion, resulting in a mouthwatering culinary experience. Tucked away like a hidden gem, this cozy spot quickly won me over with its perfect crust, fresh ingredients, and inviting atmosphere. Without a doubt, it’s a must-visit for any pizza enthusiast seeking an unforgettable dining experience.

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. The special with lamb sausage and olives was phenomenal, and the margarita was also delicious. The meatballs were a great appetizer. Service was stellar, location is convenient, and ambiance was just right. Can’t wait to go back.

Good tasting pizza. $20+ for a personal pie is a bit ridiculous though. We would like to support more often but these prices are high for a personal portion of dough, cheese and deli meat. $10-$15 would be more reasonable.

UPDATE. Oh dear! There’s a new pizziola making pies now on Saturdays. Apparently the owner trained him, but not well enough! The dough was raw (yes, raw) the toppings were excessive (literally the entire top of the pizza slid off when picked up) and the pizzas overall lacked the usual exceptional flavor. Go on a Friday when the owner is working the oven!!! Old review- Believe the hype! Tiny menu, big flavor. This is true Neapolitan pizza. Notoriously hard to get into… because they’re never open! Always get the daily special- it may sound weird, but trust me, whatever it is it will be fantastic. BYO. Zzz

Going here is an event. If you just want pizza then go to a pizza shop but if you want artistry in a wood fired brick oven go to aquila. We ordered each appetizer and each pie. All were outstanding. Well worth the trip.

We like Aquila Pizza Al Forno very much. We have eaten there a few times. The pizzas are delicious and the wait staffers are friendly. Here's why I'm giving a two-star review. On our last visit on December 28 we had a problem, though. We were a party of three. My wife was chewing on her pizza, and she felt something hard. Upon examination, it turned out to be a sharp, thin, stiff wire, about a quarter inch long. We brought this to our waitress’s attention and handed the wire to her. She took it, thanked us and.. . . . nothing. We expected a manager to come over to apologize for what, if ingested, could have led to serious internal complications. But nothing. Someone should have come over and said they’d let the manager know. Had a manager contacted us to apologize, I wouldn’t have minded paying for that pizza, but receiving no reaction at all made the incident doubly regrettable when the pizza in question showed up on the bill. This was poorly done.

Can't decide where to go or what you want to eat? You will be happy you came to this place. Can't wait to try everything on the menu

Highly Recommend. Added to my must visit when in town list. Aquila Pizza Al Forno doesn't have a big menu. They do not need it. My friend won the bet, Aquila is tied for first place with my favorite New York Pizza. Everything ordered was excellent. Pizza pie to dream about. First class meatballs and savory sauce. They prepare all pizzas with homemade mozzarella, sea salt, and extra virgin olive oil. If you can't have New York pizza, New Jersey is just as good at Aquila.

Everything is great except the espresso was not served hot enough. Our go to spot for gourmet pizza.

One of the best pizza pies I've ever had! Absolutely tremendous.

So it is tiny, you need reservations, limited menu and it's tucked away, but the rewards are beyond expectations. This is the real deal with all handmade fresh recipes & ingredients. We've done take out before but this was a dine in. I cannot recommend this place enough for all it delivers.

Tried Razza’s in Jersey city and Aquila in little falls in the same week. The pizza is similar In many ways Razza’s slightly bigger diameter. I found razza’s to have great flavors, but the crust too thick and too burned. Aquila had great dough good crunch and thickness of the crust and overl good flavor, however, I would like to feel a stronger taste and freshness in the sauce and ingredients perhaps a bit more salt samething that would make the flavor pop up more. This is my review of these two places and believe it’s comparing apples to apples of the Neapolitan style pizza in nj. Both a try and a great experience.

If you want fresh brick oven pizza then this is your place to go to!!!! My gf and I lived so close by I can't believe it took us almost a year to finally check this place out. The pizza was just absolutely amazing!!!!! It's byob and cash only so don't forget that. Service was amazing as well!!! Plus reservations is highly recommended but nothing to crazy. They also do take out of you don't want to dine in.

Says your open until 9pm on Wednesday. I called twice at 8:30 and went in person to find out you closed early… How do you run a business like that?! On top of that, cash only and you have no delivery?? FYI its 2022

I love everything about Aquila! Jerry and his crew serve up some of the best pizza in NJ, are super friendly, and do it in a BYOB space that manages to be both lowkey and intimate. The non-pizza items on the menu are also excellent.

No pizza place is good enough to be CASH only AND reservation only. I came here once won't be back again after spending time traveling to get there and be turned away. Especially after calling, no answers, and voicemail says reservation needed for 5+ people. Website also makes no mention of cash only and reservation only policy. I've never heard of this for a pizza restaurant no matter how upscale. You take reservations? You should accept card. This isn't 1999.

Almost perfect! The pizza is really wonderful, but for the price it really is too small. We did feel full from eating one each, but I think for many 1 wouldn’t be enough. My husband is from Italy and he approves other than the price to size ratio. We would also do takeout next time just because the place is quite small and cold when the door opened as people came and went.

If you’re truly a pizza lover, this is by far the best pizza in Jersey. They know and respect their craft. Fresh ingredients, perfectly crafted. A real experience

Been here 8 or 9 times and never disappointed the specials are amazing this week clam pizza owner is on site and is an amazing pizza maker. This is my go to spot for a great meal with some wine (BYOB) meatballs are incredible. Service is always on , lots of room so it make a pleasant experience.

The food is delicious and I love restaurants that don’t have an obnoxiously large menu. When it’s a smaller menu, you know any of the choices are going to be freshly made and delicious. And such friendly staff!

Food was just okay. Extremely Limited menu and all pizzas are personal size. They are all cooked in a beautiful wood fired oven with a warm atmosphere. However the 6 pizzas we were served were all undercooked on the bottom. We ordered appetizers too, the cold antipasto was tiny in terms of portion size relative to cost. The 6 hot peppers with a dollop of ricotta does not justify a price of $12! The atmosphere is delightful but overall I would not return. For a party of 6 with 4 appetizers, 6 personal pizzas & 4 cans of soda (served in regular cans) with small glasses without ice the total bill was $159. So calculate a 20% tip for a grand total of $189.xx again just to costly for what is being served...

I grew up in Jersey. Relocated to California 15 years ago. Vacationing this past summer I ate at Aquila. If I ever move back, Jerry Arcieri's wood-fired pizza would be the reason.

This was one of the best pizza places that we have visited! Our waiter Giorgio made us feel welcome the moment we walked through the door! The pizza was outstanding, cooked in a wood fired pizza oven! The menu is small and the cost is very reasonable. This place is fantastic! Best brick oven pizza around, great crust. The owner is great and takes a lot of pride in the whole experience he is cooking the pizza which can be seen from your table. Great artisanal wood fired pizza. This is not your typical pizza joint. This pizza is reminiscent of the authentic pizza you find in Italy.

Top notch pizzareia. Service is friendly and the ambiance is awesome. It works well for a romantic meal, a casual dinner or a quick bite in the evening Special pizzas of the day are always highly recommended. Heck all the pizzas are highly recommended. They are made in the spot in the wood oven and served immediately table side.

sauce was really good. couldn't give it a 5 cause only has a few bites and it was cold by the time I got to try it. looking Fwd to trying it again hit and hopefully give it a 5

It has an open kitchen and cozy atmosphere with excellent pizza. Some of the Margherita pizzas are a bit on the oily side so I ask for less oil, but some people like it. Regardless, the pizzas are always cooked to perfection and the chef and sous chef are very accommodating of personal tastes or requests. Don't see something on the menu? Or would like something a certain way? Ask one of them personally and they'll do their best to accommodate you.
