The food was very good, with an adequate portion size- no leftovers. Cas only. Make your own omelet and half portion of biscuits and gravy with a side of hash browns.

Great food. We had breakfast . One Ham breakfast and one Sausage and egg. Both great flavor. Tasted the breakfast gravy, excellent.

The food is pretty good. You get a lot on your plate. It is You're fault if you leave hungry. They are open for breakfast and lunches and both are good. This is our favorite place to eat when we are in Alturas.

Staff was friendly. Had the biscuits and gravy but the gravy was bland and tasted like flour.

Family run business in quaint Alturas CA. My husband ordered chicken steak with gravy and it was skillet sized. My sister had skillet sized pancakes. Large quantity of food for your money.

Cozy atmosphere, 3 MAYBE 4 bar stools to cozy up to the counter and get coffee and watch Cheryl cook her magic. This location can be easily missed (I did) as it didn't look like a place to eat. Where locals come to eat! Auctions happen 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at noon

Best food on the planet, good old home style cooking at it's best

A great little down to earth diner. The chicken fried steak was recommended and I tried it and it was good but a little bit overdone. Still the meal is great and I'll be back to try something else another time on my way through on another trip.

Great food large portions it's kinda old but the chicken fried steak is the best I've ever had hands down the staff are friendly not so much the farmers that frequent the place but that doesn't bother me but yes if your hungry the it's the right place

Home Style Cooking! The burgers aren't from a frozen bag of stuck together mystery meat. They are hand patted, just like home! There soups are super great as well. Whether you just got off your horse, been moving cows all day or pulled up in that shiny Lexus, go on in, you won't be disappointed in whatever you got a hankering for!

We were driving through town on our way back to Oregon and hungry! I looked this place it up and don't regret a thing. My husband had chicken fried steak (they were out of gravy so substituted brown gravy). He eats a chicken fried steak wherever we go and gave this a solid 9/10. It also came with eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and toast. I had the French dip sandwich and fries which was also amazing. The waitress/daughter was a joy and it sounded like her mom was the cook. Stop by on your way through- you won't regret it!

Best Home cooked Breakfast I've had in awhile and portions are huge,So worth the wait,Had the Ham and eggs ,the ham was so juicy and the Hashbrowns were crisp and the sourdough toast was so tasty,we'll definitely be back!!!

Each year headed back to Oregon from Yuma AZ we stop here to have breakfast or lunch, great food ! Family owned. Stop and check it out.

The food was great. It was literally 'Made by Mom', the owner of the restaurant. It is cash only, so make sure you bring some money. You get alot of food for a very reasonable price.

My dad ( Bob Flynn ) who passed away from cancer a few years back . Used to bring us here for breakfast , great food a great family atmosphere makes you feel like your in your own home. The ham wasn't as salty as you would buy in the store and just the right amount smokeyness to it , eggs done just the way you ask for them. Keep doing what your doing we'll see you next visit.

A group of 11 of us stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We were treated wonderfully. The meals were delicious. Service was very good especially considering what a large group they had to take care of. I would highly recommend this cafe.

Good place! It's a very small, local café where 'Mom' cooks everything the way she has been doing for 47 years. Very large portions and reasonably priced.

The Auction Yard Cafe is the place to eat while in Alturas! The wait was a little long because of the smaller kitchen, and only seats about 30 people at a time. Floor was a little stucky... but meh, not a big deal. Food did not all come out together but pretty close, it was hot and fresh! Wendy our server was amazing and kept up with the rush, and made sure we were all doing good. Coffee was a bit strong for my liking, hot coco was really good! Very highly recommended!

Great old fashioned food! To the patrons (or potential patrons), make sure you bring cash. They do not accept cards. To the owners, you should really accept cards and get a decent merchant account with low fees. You should put up a large sign that says "CASH ONLY!" outside the building for people that had never been there. At the least, have someone put an ATM in the place.

We eat breakfast here on the way home from varmint-hunting in Cedarville. A few times a year, for over a decade. Food is great. Hash browns taste like real butter. We always look forward to stopping here.

I'm a burger aficionado. I've sampled the offerings of Five Guys, The Habit, In-N-Out; none even come close to how awesome the burgers are at this mom and pop cafe. Having Auction Yard's hand- patted, mammoth - sized burgers takes me back to my childhood: it is the beauty of tasting home raised beef cooked by family, and served to you with a side of friendly conversation.

What a great breakfast we had. Don't blink or you will miss this place. Look for the cow on the roof. The food is AWESOME!! Grandma and Grandpa cook and the daughter runs the front. Friendly and well worth the stop.

They were pretty busy this morning but the staff was working hard to make things happen. We waited quite a while for our food but we were in good company so it wasn't that big of a deal.
