When did this place lose its edge? It used to be the kind of place people would groan when you told them you went here. My mother would pray for me. Now it’s the kind of place that puts you to sleep (and they’ll tuck you in, too).

This is one of the oldest bars in Pensacola Florida USA. There's fun to be had here: two electronic dart boards, two pool tables, an Arosmith pinball machine, and free food for paying customers. Two thumbs up!

First time, nice bar. No smoking so it smells ok. Beer is $4.25....I prefer $2.50 for my ultra, I tip better with cheap beer. Pool table is $1.50, double what I'm used to....won't be hanging out here, but nice for a change. Pool tables (2) look good, haven't played .

Used to be a lot cooler when you could smoke inside. Tina, the day time bartender, is one of the best bartenders in town. I wish I had time to see her more often.

You want an "Enough screwing around, let's get drunk!" bar that hasn't changed since Truman defeated Dewey? Welcome home. Stiff drinks and one helluva colorful cast of characters on both sides of the bar. The Z is nothing short of awesome.

This place was my go to for over 20 years. It stayed the same for a long time. Drunk prices are great. Covid happened and some changes were made. The video poker machines are gone. No smoking inside now. And not loving the bad red paint job in the restrooms. But still a great bar.

The Z is still ok by me. I liked it better before whatever city counsel Jack-of-no-trade took over. The nerve to call cops on me once for sitting in the parking lot consoling a friend right after a family member passed. Cops left us alone and the rookie was reigned in by Mrs. Officer. Larry, I think, was the politician/ new owner. He bought it hung around for a while then haven't seen 'em. No loss there fer sure, but I lots of times just sit in the vehicle in the parking lot. My music and memories. Maybe I'll go inside next time.

Heard good things about this place but man what a let down. You’ll find stronger, cheaper drinks in central/northern Pensacola compared to here. Wanted to watch the nights’s ball game on their small bar side tv at the bar but the bartender blocked the screen half the time while talking politics to patrons. Awkward long gaps of silence between songs being played. Can’t think of a reason to go back. Also, know that this is a cash only operation. I was lucky to be carrying cash on hand but being 2022 this is an inconvenient move

This bar has a pay per song juke box. I spent $10 choosing my songs. Ten dollars of my own money. Just to listen to the bartender skip over the songs I paid for. What a joke, and what a scam. I used to like this bar and come in regularly, but the new bartender has ensured I will never be back.

Went on a Monday night. It is not a bad little dive bar. Enjoyed some low key drinks, played some darts and pool.

Come around lunch on Fridays for Ms Melba's home cooked lunch! It's free and a little extra on the tip will let her know how much you enjoyed it.. Great little bar..

Best kept secret in Pensacola... Great dive bar that hasn't changed in forever... The standard pour is a double!.. And that's in every drink every time... If you happen to stop by on Friday around lunch time you might be able to get a free plate of Ms Melba's fine cooking for lunch...a little extra on your tip will usually cover that.. It's Pensacola's version of cheers... Come often enough and everyone will know your name!...

My favorite local dive bar.I have never had a bad time there and I always meet the most laid back non judgemental friendly people.The drinks are definitely not watered down and usually two is my limit.I like it because the crowd is the most diverse accepting group of cool cats in Pensacola...never the same and you never know what your night will be ,you could meet bikers,old ladies,hippies,businessmen,gay and lesbian folk,punk rockers,musicians ,artists,fire dancers,fishermen, rockers,cross dressers,and almost Everytime I am there I see someone I know and did not expect to see.You can also play pool , skeet ball or just kick back and listen to the jukebox,where you will hear anything from Hank Williams,to Beyonce,to Alice in chains ,to Nina Simone.. great local spot that is a no-brainer for those who can't decide where to go
