Very dirty there was bug attracters at the end by the food. It didn’t look like they had cleaned the buffet area all day. Also the restaurant was not sitting or serving because they had no staff. We used to love going here but, it seems like it gets worse every time we go now.

My experience is compared to how things were in the past. As I noticed from other reviews, the store appears to be out of things more regularly than the past. The same happened to us today with a long list of items not available. With an increase of price and reduction of options, salad bar, and soup, you start to wonder, what are you paying extra for? The smaller containers for sauces leave you using multiple and still may not be enough to adequately moisten the food. Given I could not get enough sauce on my meal, the noodles were crunchy rather than soft. The lack of options at the end of the sauce bar leaves us asking for a server for more things that could be elevated if they were just there. Given this place is not as busy as it was in the past, the servers are covering more tables than normal and the time between service is unappreciated. In comparison to other companies providing similar choices, I feel BD has along ways to go in making a positive recovery in order to survive in the market.

If you don’t like it, it’s your fault! YOU put the meats and veggies you want in a bowl and they cook it and serve it to you. Gotta love Mongolian BBQ!

Food was disgusting. My fried rice was cooked on a dirty grill with notable black pieces found in my rice. Won’t be coming back.

Food was overcooked, and hard to bite

I came around 230 and the ingredients line definitely needed a restock. There were a few empty containers. The staff was friendly and helpful and my bowl was cooked perfectly. This location could use a remodel. It feels a little dated and worn out.

I love this chain!! Almost 15 years ago we had one in Altamonte Springs Florida. The only thing that has changed is price and IS TO BE EXPECTED NOWADAYS 💯

First and last time ever going here food Portion was great food was not very good rice with chunky and hard the food really had no flavor the chicken was all Grizzly like they just took the ends and cook them up the steak was good the egg rolls they can keep with the dirty oil that they cooked in I would definitely not recommend this place to anybody

First impressions weren't great. The place was empty, and the server got sat with 5 or kore tables. The server had acted as if we had been there before. This got cleared up, and things improved. The food was cooked properly and the sauces were delicious. The grill man was very friendly and he let the kids bang the gong. Overall, we had a filling lunch, and with the kids deal, it was a value.

This restaurant has gone badly downhill in its most current iteration (it was previously closed for some time and reopened a while back). The food is.... fine. It's not extraordinary, and tonight was disappointing because they got rid of the specific sauce I was looking to have with my stir fry. It took nearly ten minutes from walking in to get seated, and there was no one at the host podium, but the restaurant was half empty. It took 20+ minutes to get our food after making our bowls, sitting at our table. For reference, under the previous system, you got to watch them make the food and it took maybe 10 minutes, max. Instead of serving rice and tortillas on the side, instead the rice is now mixed directly into your bowl, which makes little sense when you make a bowl with noodles in it to be cooked. It was weird and I didn't eat much if any of the rice. When you consider that you're paying $50+ for two adults and a child to eat here, plus tip, with the server hovering over you the whole time you're selecting the tip on the portable device in a very awkward way, this restaurant is just not a good value or experience anymore, and that's a bummer when we've been coming here for years.

Great food and service! Our bartenders are always sweet, especially Ashley. They seem a little understaffed but provide excellent service nonetheless.

I had the Mongolian Beef bowl, my children had the Kids create your own bowl. Monday nights kids 10 and under eat for $1.99. We all enjoyed our food. The servers and the cooks were kind and attentive.

Love coming here great food. You get to prepare the bowl yourself if you do not want a bowl they have on the menu. Prefect way of getting what you want with the sauces you want. Have a great meat and vegetables bar along with sauces can mix and match what you want.

Went for late lunch. The place only had 3 tables occupied. Slow service. Buffet area was a mess! Hadnt been wiped down or cleaned up for awhile. Food was not fresh. Cook wasn't at his station had to wait over 5 min at the counter to cook our bowls. Ordered an app that came long after our food was done that had white dried up carrots sprinkled on the top. The chairs are all ripped up. We were sat next to a booth with plastic bags covering an area. This place is a mess. We were just trying to grab a quick lunch and ended up being there for over an hr due to their slowness. Food was awful. See ya...we won't be back. Fix your front door too already!

I used to go to the Mongolian Grill in Michigan long ago. This one was a disappointment compared to my past experience. I was told by the waitress the chain was bought out by a new company and they changed how they do alot of things. There was definitely less meat and less spices. The waitress now has to bring your bowel to you after the food is cooked. My waitress was waiting on a table of 10 so needless to say it took long for her to bring it and the first bowel was cold. The prices are crazy if you want an unlimited bowel. There was only on chef on the grill and it took long for the food to be cooked. When I used to go in Michigan it was always a lively atmosphere, now its dreary and was pretty empty. Its out of my system and don't think ill ever go to one again.

Every time I've eaten here except for one time when it was extremely short staffed was a little bad but wasn't their fault. They also were out of yum yum sause besides that it's ALWAYS a good time and food is on point and everyone is amazing!!!!!

The food is just very below average and not fresh (one of our dishes smelled like fish that went bad). The atmosphere also felt like a Golden Corral, not a sit down restaurant. I tried to order a salad listed on the menu and they told me they did not have it or for that manner any salad option (outside of a side salad). We will never be back.

I come to BD’s all of the time and I have always had a great experience there. Ashley M., is such a great bartender. She makes you feel like she has known you for years. She is very attentive, kind, and makes sure I am taken care of right away. I don’t even have to tell her what I want to order, the minute I get there she is pouring my tea and putting in my food order. She is talkative and fun and is now a great friend. I will forever come to BD’s to see her and everyone else. Thank you Ashley! And thank you to the whole team. You are all fantastic and your customer service is top notch!

Yes I was in there on the 27th on Saturday. The hostess was so rude flipping over me to seat other people and then rolling her eyes when I said something to her she had dark hair sort of thin. Her hair was about middle of her back that she was very rude

Sat at table 45 minutes my son got his plate it was cold still did not get any food for myself and other guess food was not good the service is really bad and the manager has no clue on how to run a restaurant the wait staff is horrible at there job and they think they are doing a great job ps one one plate came to table nothing else two guess stood hungry I was contacted by this company I still stand by what I said I had a very bad experience still paid way to much for what I did get the fact that it was cold and did not get food for my other guess was bad and the wit staff got upset at me for letting them know and the manager was no help I say the waitress was more help than the manager . Manager had and attitude and also told me it's not our fault we only have one cook and he's doing his best I don't blame the cook if you don't have the staff to cover a shift talk to your customers explain the wait time I feel bad for the people that work under a manager that works this way . Still I would not go back there are other places in Lakeland that know how to do it right

This establishment use to be great when it was corporate owned. Experience yesterday was awful. First the place is not clean. Waitress and manger both had HUGE attitudes. Took forever for the food to be cooked that was after waiting for food to be added to the buffet. Arrived at 4:45 pm left at 6:30 pm. Restaurant had a handful of people when we arrived. There are better options in this location to eat.

Apparently now they changed the way your food is prepared. You set you bowl and seasonings on the counter and they want you to walk away and go sit down. I think this new things is a dumb and not working. While me and my family was waiting to sit our bowls down the people at the grill didn't know who's stuff was who's because something got messed up. This is just a set up for a hot mess. If they would let customers stand with their food like it use to be then things would roll smoothly. I feel like this new process isn't a good change. Seems to take longer too. Also I saw the grill guy with his bare hands push the food in someone bowl with his bare hands and didn't even wash after that. That is gross 😝. I think management needs to rethink this new idea of the process of cooking. If I had saw someone touch my food like I watch him do someone else's food there would have been a problem. Also the servers bring your food to you now.

Came in around 10:45 tonight due to a bad experience at chilis even though it was late staff treated us with respect and care and took great care of us and there food is off the chain will be back yall have made me and my husband a full time customer thank you guys so much💖💖💖

First off, let me state that we drove from Tampa to come on a Saturday afternoon when it was not busy. For this date, I let my husband choose the restaurant, and I did not look at the reviews as I normally would. We walked in around 4 pm. We stood at the door for a few minutes as the hostess was on the phone checking on a reservation for someone, and she was the only one there to sit us. We sat at a table that hadn't been wiped down in a few days for sure. My husband said the last time he came it was great, but this time wasn't. The waitress we had was less than efficient. We asked for water with lemons but got water and then had to ask for lemons again. We put in an order for drinks, but they didn't come for a while the food was almost ready when we got our drinks. The dragonfruit drink was good, and so was the toasted coconut mule. We ordered the sampler appetizer. The egg rolls were good, the dumplings were cold, and the krab rangoon was too doughy. I WOULD NOT recommend the sampler. The waitress was pretty much nonexistent for most of our visit. She came by to ask how we were, but for an empty restaurant, I expected to have excellent service since your tip depends on how you serve. I digress. We got bowls to fix our plates so they could be cooked. They were smaller than I thought, but we pilled them up, lol. The restaurant is dirty, even nasty in some places, but it would make sense to have trays to carry all the items to the grill without spilling multiple items and sauces on the floor. The floor was sticky around the place where you created your bowl. The cook was extra friendly, and he did a good job by himself. However, our food was burnt as he was working solo and got 10 orders at a time, and then they were cooked way too long. The vegetables were black as you in the pictures. The grill needs to be cleaned, it looks like there is a lot of buildup on the surface, and the floor under it looks disgusting. I still tipped the cook as he was doing his best. The brown rice was hard, I mean like barely cooked hard. It sat in a steamer and then on a bowl as your food was almost cooked. I see why most people got white rice. The food was not good because of how badly it was burnt. Please see the pictures. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend it. The building itself is disgustingly nasty. The floor, table, and chairs were sticky, the chairs were old, and parts of the booths had torn cushions. The place looks like it has been open for 10 to 15 years, and it really shows. It also shows that they do not care about dust falling into your food, as the ceiling is nasty, or the air that employees are breathing, as the dust is everywhere. From the smoke of the grill to years of dust collected on the ceiling, they need to hire someone to clean the restaurant from top to bottom, even close for a few days for this to happen. You can see in the pictures that there is filth everywhere. Overall, it is definitely a NOOOOO!!!

Haven't been here in a while. Came for lunch the other day. Did the make your own bowl selection. A few items where out of stock, but still had a good variety to choose from. Watched as food was cooked. Ordered an appetizer sampler platter to go along with bowl. Enjoyed the food. Used the app for points towards future rewards.

Vegetarian options available! It’s a fun concept, make your own bowl. Get a small bowl and a ticket and fill it as full as possible with various noodles, vegetables, meats, beans, etc- two bars worth of potential ingredients plus a bar full of sauce choices. Take your overflowing bowl to a giant grill and they toss it around and cook it for you. They’ll throw your sauce(s) of choice on at the end if you like. They put your cooked food onto a bed of white or brown rice. I chose vegetarian chicken with soy beans and roasted sesame sauce and it was delicious. The price for the bowl isn’t any worse than an entree at chipotle. There’s wait staff to refill drinks and deliver appetizers and sides if desired. The atmosphere is sort of like a bar, wooden benches, low lighting. Staff were friendly.

Best Mongolian around hands down

First time here. Thought it would be great because i had good experiences at other Mongolian restaurants. 540 Saturday evening. Empty chicken. 10 shrimp in container. No yum yum sauce. Other sauces empty. Empty seasonings. Only 1 cook. Orders backed up for over 25 minutes, from the time you give them your food, until the time it was served. Food tasted good. Ordered dessert, apple pie rolls, waiting another 18 minutes to receive them. Server and bartender were nice. Overall experience not worth it. Don't be disappointed.

Visited this location about a month ago and had the worst experience ever. Bar had no chicken on it and when asked if they were bringing more chicken out, I was told it could take a couple hours to thaw it out and cut it up. So needless to say, the only protein I prefer was unavailable. This was never mentioned before we set down and ordered our bowls. When I spoke to the manager, Alissa, she was very rude about it and no apologies or discounts for the inconvenience. Probably never go back. To bad because our family used to love this place. The restaurant was about empty on a Sunday afternoon, so looks like others have had bad experiences also. Better get decent staff in here or shut the doors.

Editing down after several visits. It just keeps getting worse and worse. Last 3 visits have been months apart. Sunday dinner. No noodles... The sauce cups have been shrunk to barely any sauce at all. The ingredient bar is super sparse. 30 minute wait for a 3/4 empty restaurant. 1 server, 1 bartender, 1 cook. The place is slowly dying unfortunately, and its bad because the flavor is usually amazing. Be aware this isn't like a lot of other Mongolian BBQ spots, this isn't all you can eat, it's one pricey bowl and that's it, unless you pay even more for another bowl... Steak used was cheap, super chewy, tons of gristle and fat. Maybe just a bad batch they butchered, but it wasn't worth eating. Chicken was way better. They charred it too much, so it was like eating random bits of charcoal, but outside of those pieces it was good. Makes no sense to not put the sauce on the food, you have to walk over, put your stuff down, go back, fill the tiny sauce cups, walk back, spilling half of them.. The whole area is a mess. Really hope this place pulls out of its nose dive last year it was amazing, although pricey.

I walked in last night with my daughter. We waited approximately 10 minutes at the door to be seated. I kept walking out to make myself visible. After 10 minutes I walked in an as an employee was passing us I asked him this question: “ Sir can we seat ourselves?” He answered me VERY LOUDLY with “ABSOLUTELY NOT, YOU WILL BE SEATED FROM THE FRONT.” I then responded with “We have been standing out there for 10 minutes and no one has seated us.” He did not respond to that and kept walking. So from here on out if anyone asks me if I’d like to go eat there my answer will forever be a resounding “ABSOLUTELY NOT!” Too bad because I do like their food but I will not support a business whose employees are so rude and nasty to their patrons!!!

The food here was not good at all. We did not enjoy any of the food or service. The waiter we had was not very nice and seemed to have an attitude when asked to remove a meal that I did not eat off of the check. Both me and my daughters meals should have been taken off cause she did not eat hers either. Would not recommend.

Worst service in history. Half of my tablet got there food while the rest of us had to wait an additional 15mins to eat. I didn't even get all my drinks served on time. I can't say how the food tasted because the experience was terrible. I ended up putting my food in to go box and leaving. They never have to worry about me coming back. It was so bad I didn't even bother to tip my waitress. That's how bad it was.

Visited this wonder place for the first time while visiting Florida, it did not disappoint! You select your own food to be cooked in front of you while you wait. Their were a lot of different varities of food from meats to vegetables. While you are waiting the chefs interact with the guests by asking questions and performing various acts around the grill. It was a very fun experience. Price was great 17.99 for all that you could fit in your bowl, which was a lot. You owe it to yourself to stop in and check this place out.

I had been here about a year ago and it was pretty good. Today not so much. The food was sub par AT BEST. The rice was undercooked, the meat bland, and the veggies questionable. It definitely isnt sittingnright with me and i know it is that because it is the only thing that I have eaten that the rest of the family has not and my stomach is a MESS. Really hoping this isn't early signs of food poisoning. I can spend less money and get better food elsewhere.

Build your own Mongolian grill. There were many protein, vegetable, and sauce choices to build your bowl. There is also the option to choose a bowl prepared by the staff. The waitress was attentive throughout our meal. A separate grill was used for patrons will food allergies.

While I don't get to come here often I do enjoy my visits when I get the chance. This is my first visit in a long time. By long time I mean several years. I came with a friend after a movie nearby. We both got the option where you make your own stir-fry bowl. They cook it up for you and bring it to the table. I got shrimp, noodles, brown rice with a bunch of veggies on it. Absolutely delicious both then and for lunch the next day. My friend enjoyed what he made as well. I was very timid in my choices. I came up a very small size bowl compared to what other folks made. Staff was very friendly and patient with us relative newbies. There's a very relaxed and casual atmosphere in the place.

First time customers, driving home to Naples after a Disney trip. Arrived on Sunday at 12:30pm, place was less than half full. The dining room was FREEZING! It had to be in the low 60s. I LOVE over-air-conditioning, and this place was too cold even for me. The greeter wore a hoodie zipped up so high you could only see half of his face. Tables and chairs looked old and worn. Our server was slow and seemed a bit overwhelmed, despite not being busy. She disappeared for long periods of time. Both mine and my wife's drinks went empty. I eventually flagged down the server for a refill, but my wife was not as fortunate. My wife ordered a water, but was charged for an ice tea - we didn't notice until after we had paid and left. The server also did a very poor job of explaining to us first-timers the process of how you build your bowl. We watched another couple's disappointment as their appetizer sampler order was messed up. Our food was actually pretty decent. I liked the variety of proteins, starches, and veggies to choose from - as well as the variety of sauces and spices. My wife was disappointed that the General Tso's sauce was empty, especially since there were very few customers and it was early in the day. We think they just decided not to stock that sauce that day. At the end of the meal, it took about 10 minutes to flag the server down so that I could pay the bill, get my receipt, and leave. The food was good enough that if we visit Lakeland, we might visit again. But the service and the atmosphere were pretty mediocre. I can't imagine how poor the service would have been if they had actually been busy.

This restaurant needs to focus on cleanliness. The tables floors and ceiling were dirty as well as the HVAC system ductwork is filthy and looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years.The servers were very unorganized and inattentive .We received one meal and the appetizers at the same time. My wife had to wait for her food. They made a mistake on the appetizers that we ordered and brought the eggrolls out later which were terrible.We dined in at the restaurant. We wouldn’t recommend this location.

First time going to this place, worst food ever. It’s literally burnt rice, or they called it (fried rice). EXTREMELY SHORT STAFFED. Their entries plates are literally just meat with premade sauce. the whole layout is just plain unorganized. Tables were not clean and extremely sticky. Will not be coming back, even if they paid me.

Do not waste your time going here if you have a group with you. I came in with a party of 10, 4 hours before closing. We were refused service because "they have been too busy". We told them that we do not mind waiting or even being split into 2 smaller groups. Still turned away with no reasonable explanation.

The manager was rude. We drove an hour and half to go here and had a group of 10. He said he has too many parties and they weren't doing party's anymore.. they still have four hours till closing . I asked to split our table . He said he would t serve us at all.. the hostess tried but manager said no.. this is ridiculous.. I was so embarrassed.. never will I ever go there ..

If I could zero I would. We had a party for 10 and was willing to wait. Manager said they weren't seating anymore parties they have had to many... Then we ask to split our tables to five and five. They completely refused to seat us completely.. the manager was just rude and they didn't close for four hours still.. badanager .

Absolutely shocked and appauled. My family drove over an hour to have dinner at a chain we love just to be denied at entry. At 728 the host and manager told us that they would not seat any party over 8 now. There was nothing on the website about this nor has it been a thing at any other location we've been to. We were told that due to "this time of night" and "due to the number of large parties that have already come in tonight" they would not seat us. We offered to sit in 2 groups of 5 at separate tables, if that would help, and were told they would not seat us at all now. Very disappointed at how this situation was handled and will not be returning to this location.

The food here is excellent. For $13 you get to make your own bowl and load it with anything you want. They even have fresh salmon and shrimp as options. Definitely had the most quality options of any Mongolian type restaurant I've been to. 9/10

I have severe food allergies and BD Mongolian Grill is very accommodating. They can cook my food separately from others and I can choose my ingredients. Staff has been very accommodating for our needs and patient with my kids.

Just got back from lunch. The overall food was very good. I got the fried rice supreme and my spouse the the sesame chicken bowl with noodles. I have to say the supreme was quite good with the exception of, what I thought was a lack of sauce. The steak was tender, the shrimp was tasty and not overcooked, the chicken was a little dry but flavorful. My spouse’s sesame chicken was flavorful and quite good with the exception of the chicken being a little dry. However both meals were thoroughly enjoyed. The waitress, who also served as the bartender was attentive and very nice. With the exception of the restaurant being cold and the music being a little loud, it proved to be a solid very good restaurant and we will be surely going back!

First of all, the food was good, flavorful. This place needs to focus on cleanliness. The surface of the tables are dirty and sticky. The floors were tacky as well. This was a visit just shortly after the doors opened. Things should have been fresh and cleaned.

Due to staffing issues, they were only offering create-your-own bowls. That's $17.99 each. So it was expensive. Food was alright. Would have been a better experience with options, especially for kids.

We used to live in Florida and loved coming here. We come to Florida once in a while and again. I loved coming here. But this time might be our last. The food was good, but you can no longer watch them cook your food. Our server, well, let's just say not so good. I understand there was a sign on the door before we even went in that said they were under staffed, I get it. But there really wasn't anyone in the place. We had 6 total, but 2 of us were there waiting for the others to get there, and it felt from the second that the 2 of us sat down that she was rushing us. She was not very helpful, and we waited for her to go to another table to get her attention to get anything from her. Oh, and my grandson got fried oreos, and he got up to ask if they were even ordered because it was taking forever. And yes, those were good too. So our once favorite place, I think, will be a place of the past.

Always have a wonderful time here. Allegra is the BEST, most awesome server they have. Always service with a smile; from servers , cooks, even the floor people.
