This particular Benihana is on a beautiful waterfront property. It’s a shame that my experience here was not a good one. This was my first time visit at this particular Benihana. When you walk in the decor is beautiful and by all means it seems like a beautiful place to spend an afternoon. I got there at approximately 1:45 PM for a late lunch. Although there were not many people there, I waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Once seated that’s when they lost me. As usual many of these hibachi places wait until the table is relatively full before sending over someone to cook however, everything here took forever. While we eventually got our drinks appetizers, etc., it wasn’t until 45 minutes to an hour before we had a chef at the table to cook lunch for us. It was only our table and another table waiting for hibachi. After waiting over an hour they decide to send a chef to the table that should’ve gone second since we were waiting prior to them. They corrected the error, but I’m not sure if we should have just waited for a new chef because ours truly did not know how to cook our meal. For starters hibachi supposed to be a fun interactive experience which this was not. Once the chef started cooking, I can tell he was lost with the menu, the portions, and also the amount of time it takes to cook certain food. The fried rice, was all over the place. Never mind that he forgot to give me the fried rice that came with my order. All steak and seafood was placed on the cooking surface at the same time. I can tell you right now that everyone at my table ate overcooked shrimp, lobster, scallops as they were practically plated last. My steak was well done (not medium) with three pieces of mushroom added from a different pile of steak as an afterthought. As an added bonus, the chef took a cleaning rag to wipe down the grill in the middle of cooking the food and proceeded to cook on that wiped surface. As for service, it’s virtually nonexistent as our server had to be found in order to get any kind of refills. It’s unfortunate that the people that work here aren’t properly trained in this cooking method or basic nonnegotiables like don’t clean with a dirty rag while there’s food on the grill. Total time wasted two hours and 15 minutes. I gave the atmosphere two stars only because it’s located in a beautiful waterfront setting.

2024 update - this place should close. We get there 11:58 - doors were locked and it says they open at 11. No bartender on staff. Waiter looked like he was half asleep. No service. Really a joke and a waste of space. We walked out after paying for 2 waters (didn’t even get glasses to drink from). Embarrassing to call this a restaurant. 2021 - Horrible. If I could give 0. I would. First of all. Service was terrible. We ordered lychee martinis and a bottle of cold sake. After 20 minutes, I had to ask where the martinis were and the waitress said "oh yeah, they don't have the base to make them." Then, sake bottle came out HOT. Supposed manager was like "oh sorry, I will bring more ice." Chicken wings came out COLD. Spicy tuna sushi was OLD. The hibachi chef was the nicest part. He was friendly. However. Food was horrible. Flavorless. The worst part. We got charged for EVERYTHING. Including martinis we never got. This place needs a revamp in its staff and quality. I've been to others and this is the worst.

I came to this place last night and the server was good, but the chef was Horrible. We waited an hour and 40 minutes for the chef to start making the food. When he made the food, he cooked it in the wrong order. We had to remind him of the things to make. On top of it all the food was very nasty. We spoke to the manager, who really did nothing. Then I go to my car, which was left in the hands of valet, my door was left open. What i horrible day I had at this place. This location needs help. Other than the server who’s name was Anisley, they need to be better Trained. $200 waisted

I went to Benihana for the first time on my birthday and had Glenda as my server. She was very attentive and made it even more memorable with the happy birthday song at the end.

My husband and I were excited to dine at Benihana, but unfortunately, our experience quickly turned sour. From the moment we sat at the bar, things went downhill. We weren’t served water for the first 15 minutes, which was just the beginning of a series of disappointing events. The drinks were fine, but the service was abysmal. Our entrées were served before the appetizers, which, logically, should never happen. When the appetizers finally arrived, they were utterly unappetizing. The yellowtail appetizer, topped with jalapeño, looked as if it had been sitting out for weeks. The jalapeño was dried out and seemed spoiled. The lobster roll was even worse—completely inedible. The nori on the roll was so hard it was like trying to bite into wood. The cleanliness of the restaurant was also alarming. Dust was everywhere, and the windows near the bar were covered in dirt, grease, and dust—absolutely unsanitary. By the time our entrées came back, after waiting an additional 20 minutes for the appetizers, they were stone cold. Even the bartender acknowledged that “Benihana isn’t what it used to be,” but she was very much part of the problem. Her lack of attentiveness and poor service contributed to our overall bad experience. We ended up packing our food to go because we couldn’t bear to stay there any longer. If you value your time, money, and overall dining experience, I strongly advise you to avoid this place.

I don't give zero stars because the application won't let me. But my score would be zero! Terrible service, they made us spend a terrible birthday night. Since we arrived they did not bring us a glass of water or menus. After a while at the table, a bartender approached to offer us something to drink because she saw that no one was serving us. We wanted to order but she didn't speak Spanish and we didn't understand each other very well with our English. After standing up and going to look for the host “helped us” and took our order (badly and she spoke Spanish, she understood us well and we understood her) the cook came to see if the order was correct, and no, it was wrong, we ordered zero spiciness. A total disaster. I stopped to look table by table for napkins and chopsticks for dinner, because they had not put anything on the table. He brings us a roll, after 15/20 minutes another, we told him that we wanted the whole order together and they tell us that they work like this (that is, one eats and the others watch until in 15 minutes they bring him his plate) when he brings us the Next it was spicy! We canceled it and we were already tired, bad, we had a terrible night. We asked for the bill, they charged us for two rolls and my son's habachi for a total of 48 usd, they did not charge us for the drinks. They ruined our night of celebration. Manager, host some inept people. I have worked in the field and I can't believe how useless they are at carrying out their work 👎🏼 Something to highlight... the beautiful view and the boy who brought the rolls to the table was friendly. I went last night, it was a Monday. I was waiting time at the table to be served. Over 4 hours waiting for the food. They do not have enough staff. Poor quality, after a long waiting we couldn’t eat. It was really bad

Can’t go wrong with Benihana, this specific location can be a hit or miss. Depending on if they have it together, other than that generally pleased with the food and service at this location whenever I have gone.

We came to dinner as out of towners and sat with an amazing family who lived locally. The managers allowed another guest with a dog to roam around the back areas of the tables where the chefs had their food carts. We asked them if we could move or if they could move (as we were seated first) and they basically said no, because a stove was not working but proceeded to sit other parties after us at open stoves. The couple with the dog acted is if they did not understand English or Spanish and continued to allow their dog to prance and shake around our area. The dog was close enough to sit on my lap. We complained to 3 managers about this issue, as a whole table, and was only compensated a $20 credit for each party (NOT each person). We were simply told we were SOL and that we could get up and be reseated else where or just deal with it. Furthermore, we had reservations at 7:30, wasn’t seated until 7:50 and did not eat until 9:30. I was very excited about trying a nonlocal restaurant and was highly disappointed. We visited various smaller restaurants based off of social media popularity that were owned by families & received 5 star stellar service where as this restaurant, that has received praise from members of a high social status, treated us as if we were at a fast food drive through (and I have honestly been treated better there). I really hope policies are put in place for families brining in any kind of animal to take into consideration that at these kind of restaurants (where seating is shared) have a designated area for those with animals .. inside, outside, whatever. Chef Louis was amazing & so was the food he prepared but the establishment as a whole gets a 2/10 from me.

At 21:21 I called the restaurant to make and order for pick up. The lady at the phone was the manager her name is Bell (not sure about the spelling of her name) she said was not available to take the order because the restaurant will close soon. She told me to show up to the restaurant or place the order online (I did online)… my surprise was when arrived to the restaurant at 21:45 to pick up the food the cashier was taking an order by phone… Miss Bell try to give me all kind of excuses….. 😡😡😡😡it is professional or fair? Why for some customers they are available to, and for some other no?

I usually order at the actual location, but now it is outsourced through a call center. My whole order got mixed up. Belle provided amazing help - she was very polite and provided excellent customer service. She helped me immediately and fixed the situation.

Horrible !!!! They kept extending the time for about 15 more minutes, for the delivery. I have gave very detailed instructions to driver and he still drove around for 10 min.. food was cold, and too heavy on the salt. Also, I'm gluten-free sensitivity, and they gave me 2 soy sauces with wheat, and I specifically asked for gluten sensitive foods and sauces. Very Poor service

The food is always delicious when we dine in. If you order for pick up, it's not the same, everything seems bland. The prices are reasonable. The only thing I have an issue with is the number of people they try to sit at the table. There's no elbow room, and it's tight. I actually had to ask one of the diners if she mind moving over since it was only 5 of us seated. She was sitting right under me with 3 chairs to spare. Maybe taking away one chair would do, especially if you're sitting with strangers.

I have always loved Benihana and the experience that comes with it, the food was definitely really good, I just didn’t like that when I ordered something for myself the chef went and gave everyone on the table the food I ordered and I genuinely wasn’t full .. I ordered a plate that was 45$ and when the food was put on my plate there was like 50% for me and the other half shared equally around the table. I didn’t really understand especially since I said I ordered that for myself, and the rest of the food everyone else ordered didn’t get shared with the table. the food was good but when that happened I was a bit confused. I also loved the green tea ice cream. I will complain that when I ordered a mocktail that was on the menu (alcohol free) it tasted like pure syrup. I was upset. And the waiter had dropped our drinks on the grill on accident before and when she brought back my friends drink it was so rushed and half of the fruits on it were missing. I was disappointed. But overall, other than that, it was a good experience and the food was good.

As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a wonderful smile from belle. Our waiter MO was fantastic, so friendly and on point with everything we wanted. Our cook Carlos is a must have, he cooks with love and you taste it in every bite.

Shareka is an excellent chef and her service was outstanding.On the otherhamd the waitress,Tonea was rude and she forgets the food/drinks. Spoke to manager and they say they have spoken to her before. When we tried to order drinks, Tonea told us the we have to wait because no clean glasses. Also ordered food to go and didn’t receive soup or salad. Will not return to this location terrible service.

As a visitor to the area, it was not worth the wait at all. Was told 7-10mins on the phone just to wait an additional 30 mins. Also the yum yum sauce was TERRIBLE. I have never tasted yum yum sauce where it tasted suace where it tasted like straight mayonnaise. Horrible and to think I paid extra. Was not worth the money and I’m upset I did not get a refund. I won’t be back.
