What an incredibly fun date night experience! A huge variety of dessert to choose from in a very dimly lit, sultry, sexy, intimate boudoir ambience. Not only are the desserts, absolutely fantastic, every single one of them has a very fun name and description to go with it. In addition to desserts, there are fun, cocktails, wine, champagne, and mocktails to choose from. We ordered the forgasm - A sampler of four desserts. We also ordered the berry bondage, do not leave here without trying this. I had a rim job champagne, followed by a rim job Pinot noir. My husband had a Koochie koochie cola Mocktail🤣🤣 all the names and descriptions are absolutely hysterical. The menu is digital with stunning pictures, there are beautiful and tasteful nude pics on the wall, and the service is top-notch from start to finish. This will become a must stop every time we are in the keys! Pro tip: don't eat dinner before you come here, do yourself a favor and try a bunch of different things and whatever you don't eat take to go. Remember that you get what you pay for, this place is pricey, but in my opinion with every penny. DON'T Bring your kids (or parents here). Pay for your parents to go on a date here alone. It's great for couples and perhaps a double date.

We had a large group of 6. They kept us close. The staff was amazing. Atmosphere perfect. They even brought out the desert with happy anniversary for our friends. Highly recommend for celebrations or a romantic night. The owner know what they have and the right people working for them. keep up the wonderful drinks and deserta.

First off we did not have a reservation. Instead of telling us to go away, they did whatever they could to squeeze us in. The atmosphere was amazing and very relaxing. The pictures on the walls were very classy. The waiter and staff were very knowledgeable. Lastly the desserts and drinks were very creative and outstanding. I will be visiting Better Than Sex every time we visit Key West but I’ll make sure to make a reservation lol.

The blueberry dessert was to die for! And our waitress Barbera (spelling?) was a lot of fun. She gave us the history of the place and a bunch of info. Overall was a great time. You could def skip dinner and just go straight for dessert!

My wife and I have been enjoying your restaurant since the Petronia St location. Every trip to Key West we have dessert at least one time. We enjoy the staff and desserts and drinks. We even make our own version of rimmed drinks at home. We cannot say enough about your restaurant. Highly recommend to all visitors to Key West. Oh yeah, Pumpin Cheescake was amazing!!! We came here on a Saturday evening for a 50th birthday, expecting a quiet intimate experience. The food was awesome, the drinks were amazing and the service was definitely on par!! However, it definitely was not quiet and barely felt intimate. I know the restaurant can’t control the patrons, but it didn’t appear that they were catering to couples this night. Apparently a bridal party had come in and they split them between a few tables. They were obnoxiously loud. It was definitely weird to see a teenager (12-14 boy) having dessert with family here. No judgement, it was just odd. Maybe on a different night, this would have been a totally different experience. The food, drinks and service were definitely amazing so I’d definitely try it again!

Delicious desserts served in a very romantic atmosphere! What more could you want..? Service was excellent as well.. they look like they absolutely enjoy their jobs!! We'll be back to try the others.. the carrot cake was decadent...and awesome! Thanks so much!

We arrived at 10 pm on a Sunday, just an hour before closing, and despite the late hour, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We asked to be put on a list, and they made it happen without hesitation. Our server, Alex, was exceptional—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. His recommendations were spot-on, and the desserts and drinks were out of this world. Each dish was a work of art, as delicious as it was beautiful. Alex also shared the inspiring history of the owners, a dynamite husband-and-wife team whose passion and creativity brought this business to life. Hearing about their journey made our experience even more special, knowing the love and dedication behind every detail of the restaurant. As for the menu—it’s spectacular, and I wouldn’t change a thing! I read a review that mentioned the cheesecake was too fluffy and should be dense. While I appreciate the diplomatic response from the owner, I have to say—if you want regular cheesecake, go to Cheesecake Factory. 😂 Better Than Sex is nothing like your ordinary anything. Even as the clock ticked past closing time, the staff didn’t rush us out. We left at 11:21 pm, and they were nothing but gracious, making us feel welcomed and valued. Their kindness and professionalism turned what could have been a stressful late-night visit into a highlight of my first trip to Key West. Better Than Sex made my last night in the Keys a truly memorable experience, and I can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s a 10 out of 10 for me—highly recommended!

Such a cool experience. Dark, cozy and decadent. We had the sampler which was a nice opportunity to try several of the desserts. We also had a berry bondage and hands down the entire table said it was the winner. So delicious makes your mouth water for more!!!

Gorgeous, unique, a must try! Only 18 tables so reservations are a must. Environment is very unique, menu is hilarious yet well put together and very tastefully decorated! Service- outstanding!

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! Sweeter than the menu items WAS THE STAFF! Everyone there took such good care of us from the minute we walked in the door. We were celebrating our 38th anniversary and After a long traveling day battling tropical storm Debby I knew my husband would enjoy a relaxing dessert. Being gluten free myself I was concerned I wouldnt be able to partake... but they had a very indulgent carrot cake option and it did not dissapoint! We loved this place and will definitly not only recommend but be back.

Our visit to this lovely dessert restaurant was more than we could have asked for! We were on vacation and walking the town before our reservation. Suddenly, we got caught in a massive downpour of rain (thank you, Florida)! Running from shop awning to shop awning, trying to get to the restaurant was hilarious and one we will never forget. We finally walked into the restaurant, soaking wet, and people looking at us unfortunately. Mind you, we cannot stop laughing. The sweet hostess looked at us and said, “Oh no! You got stuck in some rain!” We happily replied, “Nothing a little dessert can’t fix!” She smiled at us and said, “I like you guys! I’m going to seat you in our little speakeasy area.” We were even more excited than we already were! It was a very nice room that was quiet and intimate. Our server was very kind and helpful, and she walked us through the story of the restaurant on the tablet (which was fascinating). As we waited for our dessert, we played the questions game on the tablet which was a brilliant idea to have to not only pass the time, but to get closer to your partner or whoever you are with! It was such a lovely experience and we cannot thank everyone enough for making our visit so memorable! We hope to come back sooner rather than later!

I loved the atmosphere and how creative the dishes were. I also enjoyed the designs of the interior where we would dine. We got to walk right through the kitchen and see how everything is done. The smell of the place was like no other, it was all very delicious and a great experience!

My husband made a reservation for my birthday celebration and I was over the moon to try the decadent desserts for our intimate date night. The port wine and our dessert sampler were amazing!!!!! The HUGE DRAWBACK to our romantic evening was about halfway through our experience. We were in a corner booth, enjoying ourselves and canoodling, when we both feel we're being watched!!!!! We look up, and there's an approximately 8 yr old child watching us from another booth!!!!!! SERIOUSLY?!?! We were under the impression this was "adults only" and it really put a "chill" on the rest of our experience!!!!! We don't feel this was a spot for young children, and it certainly put a bit of a damper on our celebration. The sign out front even says adult only (see pic of sign at door!). I feel we are owed an apology and partial refund. A child should NOT have been here!!!!! This incident will also make me hesitant to go here again or to recommend. The 2 stars for atmosphere is because of the child staring at us.....it totally changed the vibe of our celebration in here!!!

I was between a 3 and 4 star for the food. It’s a really fun idea and the atmosphere and decor are so fun. The menu descriptions are great too. The desserts mostly had just ok flavor. The only dessert I’d recommend was the cookie nookie pie. The carrot cake and chocolate mousse were pretty good. The cheesecake and red velvet cheesecake were way too fluffy, a cheesecake should be dense. I’d recommend going here for the experience though.

Bait and switch... This was booked well in advance.. My wifes romantic birthday evening.. Things went well as fas as food, dessert as described, good wine, good server, just cant figure out how our night went from an intimate romantic evening to an 8 year staring at us...so much for romance..if we wanted children we would have gone to playland at Mcdonalds.. Unfortunatlyi cant get my wifes 55th birthday back... Ruined the rest of the night With all the nude pictures and sexualy oriented theme why are children allowed? Major misrepresetaions.. 1 and done to bad, the web has it as adult themed.. This is like booking an adult only hotel and children in the pool.. no thanks Also agree with another reviewer, the t shirts on staff, and constant gaggling up by the front door was odd... Note responce... Can we have his wife go out, and spend 2 hours on make up , in her butterfly dress, take her to his best place and have it be romper room, Where's the happy meals and crayons...? Staff in offensive T shirts, wouldnt want your home room teacher wearing these... kids optional here folks... Naked people on the walls, but 8 year olds are ok to see and be in this adult environment.... Kiss your romantic night goodbye folks, tons of other options. No compensation, no reasons, or corrections, gas lighting laxidasical responce from mgr..

It was cute. We ordered champagne but no champagne glasses. Our biggest issue was all servers were dressed in t-shirts with 69 on the back. I get it, but we felt like we were in a sports bar. They should dress more like there in a sexy, romantic place. Place wasn't busy, and all servers were gathered by the front door chatting. Recommendation? I guess go visit, but lower your expectations on all the hype you hear. Desserts were delicious.

My hubby and I had a fantastic time. What an experience. It was our first time this past Saturday, we made reservations and we were greeted right away. We were given a mini-tour and had our private table in the back room. Our hostess was knowledgeable and we sincerely appreciated her recommendations. We had the "Foursome" dessert (a spectacular array of desserts) and the "Fever" dessert (a must see). I'm not much of a sweet tooth person but these desserts were sinful! The drinks were also delicious. This place really hit all the senses: Sounds of the music, seeing all the beautiful decor, the taste and smell of the wonderful desserts & drinks, and of course, the touch of your significant other ❤️. I highly recommend this place!

This was our second time going and the small intimate details are so sexy! And we just love the atmosphere. The desserts are perfect and I love the play on dessert names and the service was amazing. Everyone is so nice and just a playful place for adults to go. Our favorite is the blueberry birthday with Strawberry Champagne soup! And Missionary Crisp MUST TRY! Wow what a unique and fun experience. Walking in here was like walking into a dark romance novel. The lighting, art, and style was unlike any other place I’ve been. Our waitress was fantastic with recommendations in the menu, introduced us to some conversation topics for our partner to get to know one another better which was a nice touch. The desserts were great as well as the drinks. All desserts is definitely decadent but that’s what you come here for. So sensual and fun to go here.

The ambiance and service was great. However, the most important part (the food and drinks) were very lackluster. For spending over $100 on dessert, I was expecting one of the best dessert experiences I’ve ever had, however, it was nothing near that. The pound cake was hard, the red velvet cake was a 3/10, the chocolate cake was worse than chilis chocolate molten cake, etc. would not go back. The food also made us sick the next day and made us miss our snorkeling excursion unfortunately.

I have to begin with our server Rene. He is very welcoming and knowledgeable. Always smiling from the second we sat down until the moment we finished. My girlfriend and I were celebrating our 2 year dating anniversary. Our desserts were not only delicious, but also we were treated to candles and a sweet “happy anniversary” wish on both of our plates. A very nice and classy touch. If I were able to rate 10 stars instead of 5, I certainly would. We will be back when visiting again. No question!

THIS IS A MUST FOR YOUR VISIT TO KEY WEST! From the moment you walk in, you realize you’re in for a treat. The atmosphere is fantastic for some fun memories and conversations and the dim lighting, accompanied by the entertaining art, makes for an experience you’ll won’t want to miss. Our experience started off with the best service and welcome from Alex. We had to make a few adjustments to our reservation and party size and Alex was more than willing to work with us and make it possibly for us to be able to come and enjoy. Our service was amazing from start to finish with an introduction to the business and its history, followed by a detailed explanation of the menu and all of its enticing options. We decided to have the two glasses of the Pinot Noir with the chocolate and caramel rim and it did not disappoint! The wine was fantastic and smooth, and the accompaniment of the sweet rim was brilliant. For dessert, we tried the Berry Bondage and the Cookie Nookie and let me tell you…… not a single thing was left on the plate by the time we finished and there were no regrets in sight. At the end of our experience, there was a small miscommunication about a celebration in our party and the manager called me personally after we had left to apologize and welcome us back to have a pepper celebration (which was above and beyond and one of the best management interactions I have had). We absolutely be back this evening for another round, and cannot recommend the experience and the staff enough. 10/10

Although it was our 2nd time vacationing in Key West; It was our first time at “Better Than Sex” which was highly recommended. It was our last activity for my 57th birthday. I selected the carrot cake with a cup of coffee that was rimmed with caramel. The presentation and atmosphere was sensual & seductively elegant just like my dessert. I will definitely return and recommend others to try.

I know it's a dessert spot, but out of 5 desserts shared by our group, 4 were overly sweet to the point of nausea. The ambiance is great for small groups/couples, and the service was great. The desserts were over the top, but a little too far with sweetness, rather than focusing on flavor/complexity. The red velvet cheesecake on the seasonal sampler was the most palatable dish, along with the carrot cake on the same plate. The chocolate covered wine glasses were matched perfectly, and could serve as dessert on their own. Wish there more savory options or at least less sugar forward options, that allowed fresh fruit/flavors to shine.

So I gave this place a try twice one year apart and as cool as the service is and the atmosphere, the 4 different desserts I tried didn’t leave me wanting more as others have elsewhere. Maybe it’s just not for me because I don’t typically eat this way but it all was just too rich and dry to me, my hubby too. We brought other friends this time and one couple loved the other said it was good enough. So I guess it’s hit or miss. Definitely a place one should try but maybe you won’t be repeat customers when all is said and done.

We made reservations here for after-dinner dessert and drinks. We had a party for 6 which they do not accommodate. It's an intimate spot so they do a max of 4 to the table. We split up with our significant others and it was a nice change of pace for a bit to have some alone time. The dishes are very rich and the drinks are all very sweet. So if you are into that you will love it all. I am more savory so it was a tad overkill for me we had the double stuffed which was my personal favorite. The carrot cake which is usually my favorite was disappointing. It was more of a spiced flavor and we barely finished it. For drinks, I had the French kiss champagne and it was again sweet but good. My husband had the left-hand porter and it's a favorite beer of ours so it didn't disappoint especially with the added rim. All in all it was worth stopping by to try but not something I need to do again. We were sat by two 4 tops that were loud and obnoxiously taking photos the entire time. It was annoying to be turned down having all our friends together and then have to listen to their conversations when trying to have a couple of moments.

Every time we visit Key West we eat here! The ambiance, taste of the desserts and drinks, and lovely wait staff make this restaurant a must-see! We love to eat the Missionary Crisp and the popcorn dessert. As for drinks, my husband loved the banana bread beer with caramel on the rim, and I loved the moscato with white chocolate and red sugar on the rim! This past time we visited was to celebrate our 10-year anniversary, so they brought out our dessert with a candle and tag congratulating us! It was the perfect touch! You’ve got to make reservations in advance, but really, it’s so worth it! Make the reservation! Visit! You won’t regret it!
