Awesome southern comfort food, friendly and efficient service and cozy dining in Groesbeck, TX. Located inside Sale Barn, Billy B's is a slice of small town Americana...and prices that are less than fast food for a fantastic meal. Save room for dessert, pies are delicious...

Placed an order over the phone. Philly Steak Sandwich and a Small spicy catfish. Both with onion rings. Even though I had a 30+ minute drive home the onion rings were still crispy. Food is great. My husband's only complaint was with how the bread for the philly was cut. He likes it when it isn't cut all the way through. This isn't a deal breaker and he really liked the taste.

Food at Billy B's is great. This restaurant is attached to a cattle sale barn. Inside it's small and the decor is unique. Grilled & fried shrimp, amazing chicken fried steak, hamburger steak, and chicken strips are among our favorites! Salad bar always fresh and diverse. And don't leave without a piece of coconut or German chocolate pecan pie for a midnight snack! Love, love, love this place! Food & service always outstanding!

This is a hard place to rate. It feels very local. This doesn't happen often, but my husband and I were divided on this restaurant. I think he was mostly vibing on the unique atmosphere being in an auction house building. I was just not super excited about the food. With the auction house backdrop, I was hoping for farm to table/ super fresh, and that's not what I got. Instant mashed potatoes, packet gravy, and the salad bar was mostly pickled items. He wasn't thrilled with his steak either. To give this place the benefit of the doubt, you may just need to know what to order. Most diners had burgers and chicken fried steak.

Great CFS and Fried Catfish and Shrimp. Salad is good and fresh.

I love Billy B's. Especially the steaks. But tonight I ordered a burger to go and I wasn't too happy. I love a good burger, and I think it would have been excellent if it wasn't for the sweetness of the bun. It overpowered the taste of the meat and veggies. If it had been a regular bun I think I'd really have enjoyed it. And my fries were cold on the inside. They were cooked long enough to thaw the inside but get them hot. I'm sorry for the negative review but I just st wanted to relay my experience. As I said in the beginning, I usually have no complaints.

As a first timer, the location (From San Antonio) is far. My Dad lives near Fairfield and that drive is a 40 min drive, and the burger was worth it! Unfortunately my onion rings were not seasoned. They were missing salt. Nice atmosphere and it wasn't crowded, most likely due to the weather because I hear Billy B's is super crowded on Friday nights.

Previously loved this place but the food this last time was lousy, poorly seasoned, chicken strips seemed frozen and not hand battered like everything else.

The chicken fried steak was over cooked. And the fries taste like they were cooked in the same grease with the okra. Nope, not going there again.

As always, the food was excellent. Chicken fried steak is so large my husband and I split it, and we still had half of it left to bring home. Order the onion rings - they are yummy!

Best hamburger steak that I've had in quite a while. Came with 2 sides and a roll. The whole meal was tasty and we enjoyed the whole experience. We will definitely be visiting again real soon!

This is a great find in terms of small town mom and pop type restaurants. All of the food we were served at lunchtime was outstanding! Service was likewise terrific. We'll be back!

I had an incredible dining experience at this unique steakhouse located in a cattle sale barn. The food was absolutely fantastic! From the perfectly cooked steaks to the rustic ambiance, it was a memorable meal that I won't forget. Highly recommend!

Holy Hell that was good. Boy had chicken fingers. Wife had a burger. I had the Texas sized Chicken Fried Steak with Loaded Double Mashed Potato’s. Sour cream on the side. Freakin awesome. Add a little dash of salt…so good. The loaded mash came in a bowl covered in melted cheese. Big chunks of bacon for a $1 up charge. $1. Totally worth the money.

This was my first time eating here and it was amazing. Great service great people and the food was more than amazing. It actually tasted like food and not fake and nasty. Fresh good tasting food. I would 100% recommend to others and 100% go again.

One of the Best Country Diners around. High quality comfort food. IMO their CFS is in my Top 2 or 3 All-Time. Great Service, Very Attentive Wait Staff. Being in an Auction Barn makes it that much more Unique. Don't Hesitate to Drive there from far and wide, You won't be disappointed!

Well, I ate the grilled gluten-free catfish, and it was magnificent. The salad bar was excellent. All in all it was 5 🌟 star as usual!

My husband and I were passing through town and asked at a gas station where a good restaurant was. They recommended Billy B's and we were glad they did. The Cafe was exactly what you'd expect to find in a sale barn, nothing fancy. But I tell you without exaggeration, it was the best food we've eaten out in ages! From appetizers to our meals we loved every bite. My steak was perfection on a plate! The rest of our ride home was terrible because we ate too much LOL but it was worth it! Highly recommend!

I'm not from the area, but passed by this place on the way to the hotel. It was busy so I checked the reviews and decided to try it out. I didn't know what to expect from a tiny cafe tucked into the cattle sale barn, but I'm glad I chose it. Solid food. Like really good, solid food. I got a hanger steak that was super flavorful and the best dang broccoli cheese casserole I've ever eaten. It was busy for the late dinner hours, but the service was quick and super friendly. I'll definitely go back next time I am in the area.

By far the best food around and the service is absolutely top notch! My bf and I both got steaks, and they were excellent! I got a cup of the chicken poblano soup and loved it. We were the last to leave at the end of the night, but the staff never made us feel rushed. I can't wait to visit again!

We learned about Billy B's on the recommendation of the ladies at the nearby post office. They were right. Best food in town on a Friday afternoon. Everything was delicious and the people were very friendly.

I think this is the best tasting steak in Texas - with a good price and a cozy environment. Thumbs up! I will say they were pretty tight with the mashed potatoes today though. That’s a cheap ingredient the quantity should more equally match the size of the enormous steak 😊 still 5 stars.

Small town locally owned fun restaurant. Forget the calorie count for a night and treat yourself! The fun atmosphere and staff that enjoy their work is an added bonus!!

I've been eating here now for several years. I'm usually in Groesbeck once or twice a month and I always try and eat here. Their food is always good, and served hot! Never had a bad meal here. My favorite is the chicken fried chicken, and you won't leave hungry either. Their dining room is small, so arrive early to avoid waiting in line. Whenever you are in the area, definitely eat here it's the best resturant in Groesbeck and has been for years.

This place has not been disappointing. I have had the chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken and a shrimp salad. SO delicious and people are amazing.

Okay, this is probably the best food for 50+ miles. Menu has a little of everything and I have yet to order something I don't like. We call ahead to make sure they are open as it is closed on certain days and hours. Also, if you go during prime hours, you might see multiple rows of cars parked out front indicating a wait. That said, if you can get in timely, it is the best food in town.

Swang by here today, they were closed.

This establishment has earned its natural; yet well earned right to say that it's good..... for it's been a rather long running establishment. Being that I've only been in the limestone county area for about 3 years I remember while visiting Groesbeck coming to this restaurant as a teenager. I found myself appreciative of fresh vegetables and which they do provide indeed on a salad bar. Most of all I enjoy the catfish!!!!

We love this place,we go every time we are in the area. Chicken fried steak is great, salad bar is simple but really good, steaks are good and desserts are always good. It can get very busy on weekends. The fried pickles and onion rings are to die for.

Been years…roughly 1984. Not the same people in the kitchen, I don’t think, but still one of the best chicken fried steaks in the state. Onions rings, perfect. Enjoyed being back home if only for a day.

Absolutely loved this place! Brought so many memories when I was younger and around barns. Had the neatest interior decorations and familiar sayings on their decor! Oh! And of course the food was great! My husband had chicken fried steak, green beans and mashed potatoes, umm, ummm, good! My son and I had cheeseburgers that tasted so delicious! The waiters were energetic, hospitable and comical! Cant forget the Coconut cream pie,, my husband devoured and the cheesecake was the best cheesecake, the texture was perfect! Loved it all...

staying in the area to visit fort parker and found this gem. the grilled chicken was absolutely delicious 🤌 service was fantastic. would highly recommend stopping in. kind of confusing when you walk in from outside it's the first door to the left. walk in and seat yourself.

Went today was not as good as it has been . The owner of Billy B’S Cafe in Groesbeck Tx has contact me she is super sweet she made everything right , very quickly . We have ate here many times and it is always good . This was just a bad day . Thank you Brinda See you soon

We always come here for a meal when visiting our friend at her Lake house. We all (usually a total of 8) love coming here because the food is sooo good!! We always order a variety of things and share it.... Delish!!! Plus the pies are outta this 🌎 good!!! Can't ask for nicer servers too...especially with our group!! Bubba was fantastic and so friendly....Food and service...5 stars all the way!!

Delicious! We are new to Groesbeck. We have eaten here twice. Both times it was crazy busy, both times the food was amazing, I have never eaten at a place that was that crowded, loud, dark and every single person working was smiling while working their butts off. Drinks were filled when needed. I cant say enough about this place. 10⭐

Went in late on a Friday night, 4th os July week. Place was packed. Our waiter greeted us almost immediately. Catfish dinners were very tasty. Large servings and several sides to choose from. Homemade macaroni and cheese was amazing. Will definitely be back.

Good food served by friendly people. Desserts are home made and often decadent! Mashed potatoes are ok. I prefer the brown gravey to their white. Sweet tea is super cold and great!

The Flatiron 8oz sirloin was flavorful, although not cooked right. It came out medium rare, I told the waitress I wanted a thin line if pink but not dry. She suggested medium. This wasn't that, but still enjoyable, cause it's good beef. Onion rings are fantastic, and pretty nice salad bar. My cousin had the chicken fried steak and couldn't finish it, said it was great, as was the gravy. Very pleasant and attentive staff. Down home atmosphere. You won't be sorry you went. Portions decent sized, and decent value for the money. It's on the Texas bucket list and should be on yours!
