Would have given it to five because the drink was really good. I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip so I said yes $2, I get home look at my bank statement and she took $5 which overdrafted me. So if you pay with a card get a receipt or check your account . But I will definitely never pay with a card again there

Not just the best coffee shop/but in Anchorage but some of the best coffee and chai anywhere in America. Have lived in many states and huge cities and almost nothing compares. I still don’t know what they do with the chai latte. You can buy the same powder and milk and magic bullet but I cannot replicate how good it is.

We have had mochas literally all over Anchorage through the years and our very most favorite mochas are from Black Bear Coffee!! We live in Mexico now but everytime we're back in town like we are now, we cannot wait to get up and drive from wherever our Airbnb is to have a mocha there. Love them!!

Absolutely made my Christmas Eve morning a mom-stop success! I ran out of coffee at home, so I was looking for a friendly and fast stop before home. I pass by without time to stop on a regular. Today I’m glad I did. I am overly pleased with my coffee product and very happy to see another cheerful face so early on the holidays ! I wish this company great tidings in the new year as for a first timer, it won’t be my last 💕

Great café for breakfast and brunch. We went there two of the three mornings we were in denali, the first morning we ate at the hotel and regret it! The avocado toast on focaccia bread with pesto is delicious. We also had the sourdough pancakes which were great. The coffee is very high quality too. Highly recommended, especially in an area without many options!

Very friendly and locally owned coffee shop. Solid menu and most things I've tried were great. Lots of options for sure and lots of flavors. They take walk-up or drive-thru orders and if you got a couple extra minutes I hear their breakfast burritos are great

Best coffee in Anchorage but sometimes it comes with a LONG wait. It seems they’re a little understaffed for their busier times. Baristas are friendly and make fantastic coffee. They have a LOT of flavors to choose from to customize your drinks and their punch cards are nice when you get to your tenth (free) drink! Always a great start to the day. Not much in the way or baked goods or food so if you’re looking for something to eat, probably not here. The bagel selection is dismal but bagels are terrible for you anyways so it just encourages me to skip the extra carbs! For an added bonus: this coffee box is located on a Pokémon GO pokéstop

By far the best coffee I have ever had. Every cup of coffee I have ever had has had to compare to these guys. Doesn’t burn their drip coffee which many places do. And it’s CONSISTENT. Never disappointed.

We came in when there was only one girl running the joint, so it was probably only running at half speed. It took 20 minutes to get the coffee, which is too long for any drive in. That said, everything they had looked good, and the coffee we got was delicious

Best sweet chai in town and the baristas are always awesome! It's our favorite little espresso shack. Edit: This is the closest shack to my home so I hadn't really tried many other ones when I wrote my last review. I have since experimented with several other espresso shacks and have concluded that...Black Bear really is the best one. Nobody makes a mocha like they do (the Irish cream is my favorite!) and the barista is super cheerful. It does close earlier than most other espresso shacks and the lines can get long, but for top quality coffee drinks, they're well worth the wait. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

Good coffee, friendly staff, dog treats for your canine. They can be plagued by long lines. They retain their staff for so long that I makes me hopeful that the owner compensates the employees fairly and treats them well.

Great drinks but half the time I have to wait like 20 mins in line. Which sucks when I'm trying to make it to work. The line is always long but I usually give up before I get to the front because the line doesn't move for a while.

Coffee here has been good in the past. The baristas are always friendly. But service has gotten slower and the coffee quality less consistent over the last year. Even so, it's right down the street from me so I still go here regularly.

Best latte I've ever had! So smooth and not bitter. Salted caramel is the perfect mix of sweet and salty.

The busiest coffee hut in Anchorage for a reason! We come here almost daily. We drive out of our way to get the coffee from Black Bear. Not only is the staff wonderful; remembering what we drink (2 white chocolate mocha's .. 1 with whipped cream)and always friendly and accommodating, but the coffee is fantastic. The white chocolate mocha is the best I've ever had. I'm told It's the owners original recipe. Does she know she's sitting on a gold mine??? Yum! I hear it's for sale. Potential buyers: if you want the customers this business currently has.....steady with 3-4 cars deep on both sides waiting patiently for this superior coffee....you might want to ask what it'll take to get her white chocolate mocha recipe included in the deal! Thanks to all at Black Bear for making my mornings more "bearable".
