Had meant to travel here to the cidery for such a long time and boy am I glad I finally did. The food was amazing and the draft ciders were everything I hoped they would be. Can’t wait to come back!

Bold Rock is a staple of the Nelson 151 trail! Their seasonal brews are always great and staff is very friendly. Not only are the brews scrumptious but it’s family and pet friendly. Waiting for a clearer rewards system but great brews, atmosphere, and employees.

Our favorite spot here is the back deck. The service is exceptional. You do order your food at the counter, and they give you a buzzer. Which we had no issues with. You can taste what they have on tap, then order a glass of your favorite. We had several favorites. 🥰🤣 The food was great and came out in about 10 mins. I had the chicken nachos and my husband had the Carolina Apple BBQ wings. AMAZING!! A couple of years ago we spent 4 days in this area riding on the motorcycle and made the mistake of going to Devils Backbone to eat, and it was horrible. (Which is just right down the road). This will be our go to place from now on. I wish they offered patrons the options to pay to pitch a tent in the corner of the property. We would definitely buy more cider!

The best blackened chicken sandwich. Took our 2 year old dog there and she loved it. Great for families.

I really enjoyed this place. The views were top notch; the patio was relaxing. I really loved that they have a non-alcoholic sparkling cider to enjoy as well.

This place is amazing! My wife and I enjoyed the cider on draft, the delicious food ( which might I add has gluten free options… much appreciated!) and the beautiful views and scenery. Staff were friendly and service was fast. If you’re looking for a place to get some drinks or food. I can’t recommend it enough!

A beautful spot to stop for a delicious lunch as you sample various ciders. The service is friendly and the tables are clean. Try hard to stop here when visiting family in Virginia in order to try their new products and buy the ones we can't seem to find in Jersey. They never disappoint!🍻

Ruined our anniversary dinner plans of over a month by unexpectedly closing the kitchen early for an employee engagement. Oh well. Next time, at the very least, put a sign at the bottom of the long ramp. ☹️

First time visiting this cidery! We tried a flight with the dill pickle cider, it was surprisingly delicious. We ordered food - the burger and jerk chicken sandwhich and both were good! Service was excellent and we spun the wheel for free goodies for leaving this review. The stream was refreshing to dangle our feet in & we got a case of vodka mixers to go! Only negative was they were out of fries and had limited 2 person board game options.

Bold Rock is a great place for a day trip. The drinks are out of this world and this food is also unreal, especially the fried pickles. If you’re in the area it’s a must.

Balk Rock offers a great experience and local flavors to create an enjoyable cidery experience in Nelson County. Good prices and good food combine to make Bold Rock well worth the long ride to visit!

Loved coming to Bold Rock! I've been wanting to visit for a while! Came on a Sunday. It's definitely busy, full of other Bold Rock fans! Very chill vibe. Acoustic guitarist and singer performing. Great variety between their distillery and cocktails and their ciders. Everybody was friendly and helpful, as it was our first visit here. I want to call out their disability inclusive practices! Extra points for that! The only thing that could be improved upon are the food choices. Definitely not vegan and vegetarian friendly. Would love to see some more options, such as an egg and cheese sandwich (with price appropriately adjusted), vegetarian quiche option (it was brunch), hummus on the veggie wrap (for protein), vegetarian appetizers, etc. The online menu didn't match the menu they were offering the day that we visited. But, we were able to make it work. We didn't let that detract from the visit. Highly recommend, especially if you are a Bold Rock fan!

Great cidery offering a variety of ciders. They have sweet and dry ciders. I recommend the oaked, imperial, and coffee cider if you aren't a fan of super sweet ciders.

I have been several times to Bold Rock for lunch. I enjoyed my BLT and drink recently as well as dipping my feet in the creek. I don't see a way to email a photo directly to Bold Rock regarding a potential issue I noticed. I sat out on the shaded deck and saw that the holes for the trees are too small. The leaves are showing signs of stress. If the trees continue to grow into the deck, their vascular system will be cut off and the trees will start to die. It would be an expensive problem to prune and remove trees -- cheaper to pay a contractor to widen the holes. Hope this note helps.

Update: I went for my birthday and had to add that Cole was super awesome on top of everything else about this place This was my first time at bold rock celebrating for my best friend’s bachelorette party. The food was great, I found a new favorite cider with the mango lemonade flavor, but Jordan the general manager and Mary made our trip the most memorable. I saw a glass from an event they had that I thought was for sale. Even though it wasn’t the glass was still given to me. Of course once the rest of the girls saw my glass they wanted one too. Jordan didn’t hesitate to bring other options of glasses and Mary tracked down one more that was the same as mine for the bride. It was such amazing service and I can’t thank those two enough for making our last stop on the tour so great!

Food took two hours and the order was incomplete - burgers were also overcooked.

Can't rate the food because the service was so slow I had to cancel my order. Why does it take an hour to pull a salad out of the fridge? (Turns out, because they don't do that until they have filled still the prior orders.).

Best fish tacos I've had in years! Enjoyed sampling various ciders (my faves--IPA and green apple). Factory not running in evening, but interesting facts to be found in apple museum upstairs.

Love coming here! Introduced my wife to this place years ago and brought some of my good friends here and loved it! Can’t wait to make a trip back and see what new beers they have!

Drove over an hour for the bluegrass and bbq. Never heard ANY bluegrass, and when I went to the food window to ask if we had missed being called for the BBQ, he told us we should have been told that food would take an hour and a half! Food seems to come out the window every 15 minutes.....why? Unfortunately the bbq was fatty and not good.....I came here specifically for bluegrass and for Father's Day, and I am so very disappointed. No bluegrass (was that a lie to get us here?) and horribly slow food. Thanks for ruining my Father's Day. We won't be back.

Great place to hang after a hike. Plenty of shaded seating outside and we had a great time with our three kids and doggie. Loved the drinks and the food was tasty too. Would highly recommend to families with kids that like to explore
