Pretty much everything they serve is good in my opinion but I highly recommend the smoked wings.

8/31/24 The food and the pit master were excellent as always. However, we sat at the bar, and the service was sub par. The server that works the drive through also works the bar area. Got our drinks right away but Instead of taking our order, she was on her phone so we sat for over 10 minutes, she made eye contact twice, before our order was taken. And she still forgot to bring one of the items ordered. Had to wait as well to pay our bill. Hopefully her Boss reads this and hides her phone.

Smoked turkey sandwich was great, and the wings were also really good.

Was a little disappointed that the chick was very dry today which has never been the problem before. The rib was delicious and the brunswick stew was delicious. Bono's is the best BBQ in the world. And I'll be back.

Food was not good I love bbq and smoked meats but these ribs were more burnt really hard same thing with the sandwich the top top layer was good but the bottom layer was all hard dry meat! The fried corn on the cob was disgusting I’ve had fried corn on the cob multiple times and the corn I ate there was super greasy and just nasty! The server wasn’t very attentive she was acting like she was busy but only had 3 tables that’s counting mine! Music was the best thing in the place! Also I wouldn’t play the news on the tv after having multiple health code violations because while eating our dinner your establishment popped up with all 16 of your violations!

BBQ was ok. Portions were ok, just an average BBQ joint. Was disappointed they were out of beans.

What I got was excellent, brisket and cheese covered tater tots.

I think they're closing down this location (?) phone goes to voicemail at 6pm. Pickup truck parked blocking the entrance. maybe closed for a remodel? I'm suprised, & would be dissapointed if so... but I think the Bono's near Fleming Island is better anyways.

What happened to the pork in the baked beans and the potatoes in the green beans? Maybe you thought no one would notice while the prices are soaring?

Delicious food and great service! Thank you! Had the "small" 2 meat combo with ribs and brisket, along with cole slaw and baked beans. This is the real deal! Highly recommend.

Have been eating at Bono's restaurants for over 40 years. Great brisket, sausage and chicken, baked beans are great and the best sweet tea, service is always outstanding, I definitely recommend giving them a try. One of my favorites is the Bo-Hawg, it's delicious

Used this place for a catering event and it was a big hit. Their barbecue is definitely worth trying out, and their sides are great!

Well let's say the General Manager Tracy kind of saved the day. I appreciate her stepping in and making us feel valued. Tracy is a good and kind Manager and if my husband and I came back it would be to come see her. I appreciate her.

Food was great the service a little bit slow but they were busy with only a couple of servers. Very polite and friendly. Will return

The service was good and everyone was friendly..I'm from Upstate New York visiting our family etc. Our daughter comes to your place many times and she told us this is the best ..guess what? she and the family were right. Awesome and really couldn't believe it. They were right. And Thankyou again for the service and delicious food. Surely be back soon..NY doesn't have any place like this.. The great thing about Bono’s for me is the consistency. You know what you are getting. Deliciousness with every bite! We did drive through so I don’t know about the atmosphere but the food was great!

I was excited to see a Bono’s BBQ in St. Augustine and haven’t had it in a over a year. My family & I go there all the time in Jax, we’ve had a few family members that have worked at Bono’s over the years too. I saw that this location had a drive thru and placed a to go order online to get on my way home this afternoon. I ordered the half and half appetizer, with corn nuggets and squash. The squash was cut very thick and when you took a bite out of it, juices went everywhere- but they’re way too big to eat whole. The corn nuggets were good. The tea is always great in Jax, it was just ok here. When I got home, I opened my double meat salad that’s nearly $16. There was a single onion, a single pepper, 2 small tomatoes, with very dry brisket and pork on a bed of lettuce. I was actually shocked, I’ve never received a single onion ring or pepper ring on a salad before. This is one of their most expensive salads on the menu. I also purchased a banana pudding that I haven’t tried yet. Overall, I spent $36 + tip. I was disappointed because it isn’t the Bono’s quality that I’m used to. The location looked nice from the outside, the employee at the window was nice. Maybe it would have been a different experience had I dined in, but I wouldn’t go back to this location after this meal.

When you're a block away you can smell the delicious meat smoking... Best turkey I've ever had! The ribs are fall off the bone tender and staff super friendly and professional. The Pit Hot BBQ sauce is excellent, my favorite of any.

Service was excellent. Atmosphere was excellent. Food was excellent. We were visiting from out of state and happened upon this place. Our waitress Tristan was awesome! She actually took time to visit with us and we could tell the staff loved their jobs and got along well! Would highly recommend! The warm towelettes were a very nice touch!!

Our meal was delicious! They were quite busy but our meal came out lickety split and good! Corn Nuggets were awesome!

There's no way the food was fresh. Burger was smashed and cooked to a crumbly dry crisp. No one coming to a BBQ restaurant wants a smashed buger. They want a thick juicy burger. No baked potatos .. this restaurant doesn't even SERVE baked potatos. At a BBQ restaurant? What a joke. Brisket, Ribs, and Pork was dry, crumbly, and flavorless. What an absolute joke of a restaurant. Manager only offered to take off the burger even though we had barely eaten anything. Will likely be doing a charge back on my credit card. You're MUCH better off going to Sonnys

A great place for barbecue if you happen to be in St. Augustine. Would definitely go there again worth every penny.

My food was incorrect when it came to the table. It was remade in a flash, and even the fries were fresh, and very hot . I wish we had a Bono's near us in Georgia. It was the best barbecue I have had in months!

Mostly forget this place is here, and that's something I need to change. We stopped in today for lunch after church. We got ours to go, and I'll be honest - it was tough to wait til home - It just smelled so amazing in the car. Then it was amazing. Everything was cooked right, with good portions. Everything we needed was included, sauces and napkins and utensils. I do suggest going inside your first time, as the menu board is a little confusing while sitting in a car. The employee was patient with us though, and that was nice. An all around positive experience.

completely unsure how this place has more than 2 stars. the food is completely dry and not real barbecue at all. mac n cheese came out cold then they just heated it up and then added cold mac n cheese on the empty spot i ate. there’s not much more to say than it was terrible

This was our first and will probably be our last time. We ordered Brunswick Stew and it was awful. It didn't have any flavor and the amount of food we received wasn't worth the price we paid for it for it to have no flavor. We had to put some barbecue sauce in it so it was at least have some flavor. I ate maybe three bites of mine. I ate the toast that came with it. The meat that was in the Brunswick Stew tasted old and was dry. Some of the vegetables in the stew was not cooked. They were crunchy. Our waitress was friendly.

By far the best Bono's location I've been to. Food is always hot and tastes great. The turkey has so much smoke to it and tastes amazing. The onion rings are amazing also.

Today we wanted to treat ourselves so we went to the store. Our waitresses awesome very attentive. The food rolled out pretty fast the potato salad was awesome the lima beans were awesome but when she brought out the brisket and the pork they were Stone Cold. I told our server that she needed to go back there and yell at them about trying to serve cold meat and she definitely didn't look happy about it. She replaced our meals really quick and it still weren't hot it was like lukewarm but it was edible. Remember to always tip your servers here they do work hard and they do try to make your meal enjoyable

How did we miss this place until now? Great food, served piping hot, and perfectly timed service. Brisket, ribs, turkey, sweet tater, Brunswick stew and the blueberry cobbler were all really good. We'll be back!

Second time eating here. First time I was extremely happy. Food was great, as well as service. This time food was horrible. Ribs were dried out and tasteless. Service was not that great. Guess this is the last time coming here.

Great bbq. It was real meat. They don’t have alligator steaks but nonetheless I was very happy. The Billy-Bob special was a great value and they accept cash as payment.

You can never go wrong with Bonos BBQ. It's always been one of my goto's when I want good BBQ.

We visited Bono's for the first time on vacation and were pleasantly surprised. I had the beef brisket and my spouse had the pulled pork platter, both of which were very good. We will definitely come back to Bono's on our next trip to St. Augustine.

Will consider not coming back for the new quantity of food. Bo Hog and fries. Coming here so long we know the pit boss and servers by first name and they us, tho always new people anymore. A very thin layer of chopped pork and 13 fries was the new quantity for the old vets. I asked the server about the portion and was politely, tho disappoitedly, advised of the new portion sizes. The corn nuggets barely covered the bottom of the dish! Sharp contrast to before and the sandwich is more. I'd like to be fed when I go out to eat. Raise the price but keep the portion. Your regular base notices the lack of bang for the buck Dave

Great selection..great prices...great parking. The food was excellent and plenty generous servings. The customer service was phenomenal! Our server was Ms. Mary/Marie and she was the best..we were so well taken care of..she checked on us, looked out for us..refills came without having to ask..and we left happy with our left overs. Thank you for your excellent service!

Worst BBQ I've had in a long time. Over priced for it's portion. Chicken dry. Brisket dry. Ribs dry. Would not go back, and won't be recommending.

I really don’t like having to leave a bad review but when we came in before 5 and were the only table of customers in the store… I really shouldn’t have had to go find my own silverware 🤷‍♂️ I tried waiting for our server to come back but my food had already gotten cold waiting 😕 At least the dog gets a good dinner!

Portions are small to normal. Service and atmosphere was very nice! Sauces to chose from were 4 nice and different types.

Not sure if it was an off day or what, but I've never had a situation where I could literally not eat BBQ ribs. The ribs were so small, dry, and tough you had to rip it off the bone like an animal. It had the consistency tougher than the toughest beef jerky you've ever eaten. I tried to eat one and gave up on the rest. My teeth aren't built for this. I'll stick to the other BBQ joints around here.

Jodi was our waitress (at least that’s what it says on the receipt) and she was amazing. Great service. We’ve been trying to find a good Bbq a place forever and I have no idea why we haven’t ever been here till recently. We were pleasantly surprised by everything. Everything we had was great. The pulled pork, Mac n cheese, the sauces and even the beans were great. We will definitely be back!

I ordered pulled pork, they gave me chopped unseasoned mystery meat- I don’t know what it is but it’s not pulled pork. This is the third time this has happened and when called about it the cubed meat is apparently “all they have.” If they didn’t have what I wanted I wish I would have been informed so I could leave rather than paying for food I don’t want

I got Bono’s last night for my family. The service was horrible, and ever since we ate it everyone has been throwing up non stop!

This is the best bbq in the area at a great price. The bo-hog sandwich was smoked and seasoned to perfection with subtle tastes of smokiness accented by traditional bbq flavors enhanced with a garlic flavor. I used the hickory red bbq sauce and it was awesome. Reasonably priced as well food came out quick, portions were large and service was great. Mojo, and smokin D have lost my business. Smoked wings were also perfect.

Yuk, yuk, yuk. Had pulled pork sandwiches. Meat was lukewarm. Crispy, dried chunks like they were off bottom of pan. No coleslaw today. What bar-b-que place does not have coleslaw? Service was even worse. Will not be back.

Personnel not very accommodating.😡 Ordered the BBQ Feast, and I wanted to substitute the chicken for additional Pork, wouldn't do it 😞 I order it that way all the time at the Neptune Beach Bono's all the time with no issues 🤔 on top of that, No Military Discount 😞 They won't see me again, will let all My friends not to go to that Bono's 🤠

Waitress did not know what she was doing. Tried to over charge us got very agrovated when we questioned did not fix issue had head waitress work on it all had attitude with us

The combo meal was not quite what we expected. The chicken leg was so tiny, I would be embarrassed to serve it. The ribs were ok, nothing great. The best meat was the turkey, definitely no lunch meat here. We waited several minutes before anyone came to seat us. Unfortunately we probably won't return.

The food was pretty good. The smoked meats are pretty good. Sides can leave a lot to be desired. Homemade Mac and cheese taste like it came off the Sysco truck. Service was terrible. They didn't have much staff. I would probably eat here again just to give it another try because of the staffing issues. Like I said, the meats are good. It's worth one more shot, but if it's the same when I try again, I might change my review for better or worse.

Had a friend suggest this place and I will never take another suggestion from them as long as I live! This was hands down the worst bbq I've had from a chain. Food extremely dry and wasn't flavorful. I had so much food on my plate and turned down a to-go box. I left there and went somewhere else to get food. After reading these reviews, I know who not to take recommendations from. Your taste buds might be busted or you have very low expectations😬

Loved the corn nuggets but the meat was too fatty, chucks of fat with the meat and not tender enough for me. We LOVED the housemade ranch dressing.

If you like southern style pit BBQ and want flavor..than this place has it ...definitely not cheap but reasonable on the price. The smells that waft out of the place as you drive by it made Me hook a u turn. And try it out and yea it was super delicious BBQ

First time here and was very impressed. Food was good, service fast and courteous and dining area is well decorated and Augustin. The prices very reasonable. It will be a "must" stop for me next time I'm in St. Augustine.

Came into St. Augustine Wednesday afternoon, 9/14/22. Decided to have dinner delivered to our AirBnB. A wise person in our party of 7 decided we should order from Bono's. I believe Door Dash was the delivery method. We were up on Vilano Beach, so it was a decent drive, but I thought everything arrived pretty quickly. The food was still very warm (a shout out to whoever the delivery driver was). Anyway, this was amazing BBQ. Everything was fantastic. The sides were amazing. The collard greens were as good as my own. I can't speak to the service side because we didn't eat there, but the food is legit! The ones leaving bad reviews probably wouldn't know good food if it came up and punched them in the face.

We’re from miami where we have really good BBQ places while in town in St. Augustine we decided to try a local BBQ restaurant and it did not disappoint truly amazing highly recommend it great portions great service food was amazing done just right smoked flavored plenty of sides to choose from and a large variety of draft beers to complement. FYI they also have a drive thru.
