This past weekend was my first time staying at Brampton 1860. I knew when my husband and I drove onto the property we were going to have a wonderful time together because the property gives such a romantic feeling. Our cottage was adorable and had everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed. We only went to the nearby towns for site seeing and dinner. They have walking trails, but If you’re not a nature girl I don’t suggest the trails. And there’s a chicken and quail coop. Along with several romantic places to take pictures. The food was fantastic, fresh, and gourmet. You can purchase wine and champagne but they have bottles out during tea time to drink from and the Desserts were so scrumptious. The staff were very professional and friendly and kind. Hi Sara and Susan. Miss you already. WHEN you decide to go try your best to make the best of location and stay on site. They have everything you need and take advantage of their packages. We went to the two towns to walk around and eat dinner but honestly it was overkill and couldn’t compare to Brampton’s food. Accept for the ice cream and chocolates (Bespokes). I advise you to Take the time while you’re there to enjoy yourself or your partner’s company. Have meaningful conversations, make memories, let loose and be intimate. Hold hands, Hug one another and cuddle. It’s worth it. I’m gonna come back again by myself or with my daughter; she’s a young adult. You should definitely experience it with and without someone. We all need alone time every now and then, so why not a setting like theirs? Don’t forget the gift shop like we did. Forgot to go back and get our mugs because the staff was busy providing excellent service. I truly look forward to my next trip.

The Brampton truly exceeded expectations! We stayed for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary and it may be a new annual tradition- can’t wait to go back! We stayed in the Yellow Room and it was very comfortable, clean, and beautiful decor. The food was exceptional, staff was very helpful and friendly, and the grounds were lovely. The cookies and tea are so good - I definitely are more than I should have! Don’t hesitate booking a stay here!

We had a truly amazing time at Brampton inn! The losing was even better than we imagined. Comfortable, cozy, relaxing. The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was delicious, and the walking trails were wonderful for reconnecting with nature. It was the perfect weekend getaway and we would recommend Brampton to anyone!

This place is amazing, second time we have stayed here. My husband and I love it here. Grounds are beautiful and all the staff is so friendly and welcoming.

The attention to detail was amazing- luxury sheets, steam shower, and fantastic bath products made you feel pampered! Staff was so catering and friendly. Only down side is there is no wifi but It was a wonderful getaway weekend!

My husband and I had an amazing time at Brampton Inn. We stayed in the Marley Cottage and it was pure bliss. I highly suggest staying in this cottage as it has tons of privacy and the soaker tub can’t be beat. The staff was pleasant and heart warming. They always made us feel welcome. We really enjoyed breakfast and tea time too. The food was great! We will absolutely be back and hope to make this an annual anniversary stay. Thank you for your hospitality. ❤️

We had a great visit over Father’s Day weekend. Our room (Red Room) was large and spacious, bathroom was updated, and huge bed was comfy. The breakfasts were excellent and tasty, afternoon HH/tea time was devine, and the grounds were immaculate. We especially loved the evening fire pit and morning trail walks on the grounds. We will be back!

We’ve been here numerous times over the decades and this is the first time staying in one of the cottages. It was DELIGHTFUL. Quite. Surrounded by beautiful gardens w a short walk to the main house. Each morning our breakfast was delivered hot and delicious. The main part of town was minutes away for dining out. This was a most perfect get away weekend.

My husband and I enjoyed 3 days at the Robin's Nest cottage. We left today but I want to go back already! Everything was perfect. The grounds are stunning, it is May and lots of flowers were blooming. The food was INCREDIBLE. I especially looked forward to social hour everyday with sweet and savory morsels and enjoyed the delicious cookies that were always available. The staff were all wonderful, especially Squeaky the cat. He warmed our laps on multiple occasions and I always looked forward to seeing him. The town has some cute shops and restaurants. The farmers market that takes place on Saturdays was great to attend on a Saturday with great weather. Our accomodations were wonderful, we got to bring our dog to our cottage (Robins Nest) and she had a great time as well. I hope to return to share the experience of this wonderful place with friends and family.

5 no question about it… Sarah was most helpful and gracious, Marie-Annik's food delicious . The grounds were magnificent, especially in their spring glory, our room was clean, and the entire experience was everything I could have hoped for to celebrate our anniversary.

What a wonderful B&B. Beautiful manor house and I loved the cottage in which I stayed. Beautiful grounds with a front porch or chairs around a fire pit on which to lounge. Plenty of easy walking trails to view the full property. Nicely done afternoon snacks/beverages and breakfast are included. Loved the proximity to Chestertown with its' waterfront, historic buildings, shopping and restaurants. Loved our chats with the owner with his knowledge of the manor and local history and his recommendations of restaurants or things to do. Will definitely return!

Beautiful grounds. Impeccable service. Breakfast made with fresh veggies right from their own garden and eggs from their own chickens. Yummy afternoon snacks and popcorn at night around the outdoor fire pit. Best B&B in Maryland- we have stayed at many!

What a delicious getaway!! Oh, to be served fresh juice, warm sugar scones, with homemade blueberry jam - Yum! …not to mention the indulgent Tea snacks - freshly baked cookies, pineapple salsa, lemon tarts!! Delightful! Happy Trails radiate about extensive grounds - beautiful blooms, flowering trees/shrubbery, a gurgling fountain, comforting landscapes abound…. Enjoy the porch rockers/gliders with Squeaky the Cat. Sweet surprises abound at the gracious and historic inn, like Snuggling into plush robes, and falling into bed - heavenly! It is little wonder that multiple travel magazines are currently highlighting the marvelous Brampton Inn, whose excellent owners and excellent staff do their utmost to ensure your comfort and pleasure - KUDOS!!

Brampton Inn is an amazing spot for a natural, cozy getaway. The owners and staff, especially the innkeeper Sara, really care about their guests and the whole experience. They checked on us often to see if we needed anything, which made us feel really taken care of. The breakfast was delicious and they even deliver it to your room if you ask. Plus, they have staff who speak Spanish and French, which makes it really accessible. I'd totally recommend this place for a birthday, a romantic getaway, or just some R&R. It's also great for weddings if you're looking for something private and special. And it's less than two hours from DC, so it's a peaceful break without being too far from the city. The food at Brampton and around Chestertown is pretty decent, although as a foodie, I think there’s room for improvement. But the experience comes with your package and it seems like they might be able to customize your meals with some notice—though we didn't try that. Overall, staying here felt really personal and welcoming. Definitely a great choice if you want to experience the American countryside and feel far from the hustle while still being close to civilization. This is truly a hidden gem. Wrote this 2 days after our experience.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay at this beautiful Inn! The Yellow Room was spacious and bright, including a large bathroom with double sink and jacuzzi tub. The breakfasts were delicious, with choices of sweet or savory dishes, along with muffins and fruit. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The Grounds are gorgeous as well, and included a fire pit and large patio off dining room snd a wraparound porch. Walking trails around the property was perfect for after meal exercise. Convenient location close to wineries, Chestertown, and Rock Hall. Would highly recommend Brampton Inn!!

Wow!!! This is a very nice B&B! The charm of the owner and staff just push this B&B over the top!!! We stayed in one of the cottages, Russell's Cottage. MAGNIFICENT!!! The Cottage is nicely appointed with many nice features and new upgrades. The red wood burning fireplace beautifies the Cottage. Wasn't old enough to use unfortunately 😕 the staff are 2nd to none. Very polite and helpful. I highly recommend this B&B. We've been to quite a few and this is one of the better ones. We will come again.

I absolutely loved staying at Brampton Bed and Breakfast! The main house and surrounding property is absolutely gorgeous with a lot of charming , spectacular, enchanting and cozy spots inside and outside for relaxing while taking in the surrounding beauty. The substantial sit down breakfast and tea time were both delicious; I really enjoyed the variety and quality of the homemade goodies and food. I stayed in a cottage that was very beautiful and comfortable with modern conveniences and it's own garden and patio was an added beautiful bonus. The staff and host, Kathy, were so wonderful and they really made sure my stay was beyond enjoyable, special and memorable. They are all about accommodating the guests and adding the most delightful touches. Thank you, Kathy and Brampton B&B for sharing this amazing property and making my stay magical! I had a lovely stay at The Brampton Bed and Breakfast Inn. The property is beautifully welcoming as you pull up the well manicured lawn and flower beds to a cozy front porch. I was promptly greeted and give the key to my room. A real iron key! My room was spacious, yet cozy and quaint (the Blue Room). Shortly after checking in, I joined the inn's 4 o'clock tea time, which in my case consisted of a glass of chardonnay on the patio! Innkeeper Sara recommended I visit The Kitchen for dinner - only a few quick minutes way and on the main street of Historic Chestertown. I had a lovely dinner and returned for the evening. As an early riser, I made my way outside for the sunrise - the array of morning sun illuminated the Brampton in a glow of color. I seemed to be the only guest up at that hour, but there was hot coffee already waiting. At 9am, I visited the main dining area for breakfast and was so graciously served by lovely Bri and joined for some morning conversation with another inkeeper, Cathy - a shining star. The owner, Dave, joined us and shared with me his experience acquiring the inn and some of the rich history of the property dating back to the 1800s. I very much enjoyed my time here at the Brampton and am eager to return!

Our stay at Brampton Inn was just wonderful! Beautiful property (very well maintained), delicious food, and wonderful staff who treated us special. We stayed in the Mulberry Cottage and truly enjoyed its privacy and solitude. Nightly fireplace ready to be simply lit to start, truly relaxing soaking tub in a screened-in covered outdoor tub, staring at the stars at night. Enjoyed our private lunch on the front porch. They even held some clothing we left behind so I could pick it up a few days later. We will return!

This was the four time my wife and I stayed at the Brampton Inn. Highly recommend as usual. Stay in Marley’s Cottage and loved it. Breakfast great and staff friendly. Best time of the year to visit.

Brampton is so lovely! There are a variety of room options that are so wonderful. It's the in state destination-vacation that you never knew you needed!!! Fireplace included. The food is always delicious and the service is always top notch:) Super peaceful, super quiet, super relaxing. We can't wait to return.

The Brampton is a very special place! My husband and I have been going for years and we love the Mulberry cottage. It’s cozy, relaxing and quiet. Cookies greet you inside the main house and tea time is a fav. Breakfast is always wonderful and the owners are warm & welcoming. We also had dinner delivered to our cottage…chili one night and seafood pot pie the next. We never had to leave. The new addition outside with the fire pit is wonderful. I love the body scrub and bath tub! We will be back.

We had a great time at the Brampton Inn and the staff and location were terrific. We stayed in the Robin’s Nest cottage which accommodates large dogs like ours and it was fine but a little sparse on rugs and pictures on the walls. It didn’t look that way on the website and maybe there was a reason they removed some of the decorative items. It felt a little barren.

We had a very lovely visit! Will definitely come again, maybe in the spring. I want to see the gardens in bloom!

My wife and I recently revisited the Brampton Inn. We’ve been there several times and have always had a great experience. Since last time, they have added some outdoor hardscaping and a large gas fire pit. The breakfast is what’s fantastic. Tea and fresh desserts in the afternoon are delicious. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and great to chat with. A great stay and we’ll certainly be back again.

This was our 1st time staying at the Brampton B&B. From the time I booked my stay, up until our check-out the staff was very pleasant, friendly, and engaging. The breakfast that was brought to our cottage every morning was delicious. We enjoyed the Christmas dinner, which did not disappoint. The food & dessert was on point. The portions was more than enough. We will definitely be returning during the warmer season.

Attention was paid to every detail. Jenna was a delight to see each morning at breakfast and she remembered our dietary preferences. Afternoon tea and freshly prepared snacks were a great way to be able to stay in and relax so we didn't have to go into town for food. We are already planning our next stay!

Excellent B&B! Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast & homemade cookies and snack available 24 hrs/day. Coffee, tea, wine & Bartesian cocktail are available. Lots of free parking. The entire house & grounds are decked out with holiday lights making it very festive. I certainly plan on a return visit!

We visited the Brampton Inn for two nights earlier this week and stayed in Marley's Cottage. The cottage was well appointed and perfect for our romantic getaway! We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and afternoon tea (both included) that were delivered to us each day, and we loved sitting by our fireplace in the evenings. Dave, Hilari, and the entire team were very kind and welcoming, and we will definitely visit again sometime.

Brampton Inn was beautiful! We stayed in Poppy's Retreat, which felt nice and private. Breakfast was by far our favorite out of the 4 we've visited so far. Taste, portion and options were fabulous! Staff was super friendly! Only 2 complaints is the fact that they didn't have cable. Might not matter to most, but it's football season. We don't frequent bars so that wasn't an option. Luckily, we found our own way to stream it. Second, when I made my reservation I left a message with a staff member and sent an email regarding a special. I was told someone would reach out, but I never heard back.

We arrived at tea time and were greeted by a friendly staff member who gave us our key.On previous occasions we had stayed in all of the rooms at the Brampton and this time we choose Marly’s cottage separate from the inn.It was a luxurious accommodation with a spacious bathroom with jacuzzi and jetted shower with steam. A fire was set each evening so all you had to do was light it.The king size bed was comfy. Back at the inn tea time with goodies were available.Christmas music by Michael on the keyboards was so relaxing.Cookies, tea and coffee are available throughout the day. Gourmet breakfast is served each morning. You have a selection of delicious entrees. All of the staff are attentive to your needs and are so friendly The owners have pulled out all the stops decorating the Brampton and making it a place to enjoy and return to. Sincerely Joe and Gwen

Came here for our first time and celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary. The owners and his staff were so nice/helpful, food was delicious, and accommodations were breathtaking and so serene. Everything far exceeded our expectations! Thank you for making our anniversary so special and memorable.

My wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful inn. The service was excellent and the breakfasts were delicious. The staff was courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful. Our stay was during halloween and the grounds were beautifully decorated. We will certainly return for another stay!

My wife and I just recently got married here 11-8-17 what a wonderful place. Our family members were so happy to be there. It's so peaceful and relaxing and the customer service was so amazing we can't compare them to anyone. This is the best B&B my wife and I have ever been to we will be coming back to enjoy this memorable establishment again. 10-31-2020 We finally had a chance to return here. Only difference are the new owners Hilari & Dave. They did a wonderful job in keeping everything as wonderful and peaceful as the previous owners did. Loved it, the food was great too. We can't wait to go there again. 11-22-2022 - forgot to update my review but the stay was amazing. & 11-21-2023 - Wow the owners have really added nice touches and the staff is awesome. You have to see it for yourself. A wonderful place for peace and quiet & since they don't allow kids there are no shenanigans that kids often do. We have 5 kids so trust me that I know. We Can't wait to return again, I hear some new additions are in the works.

Those of you who knew the Brampton under the Hanscoms' long and loving tenure will feel right at home and will appreciate the thoughtful balance David & Hilari have struck in preserving the best of the inn's past while bringing their own warmth, energy, and attention to detail to bear on ensuring that the Brampton remains an inn that stands out even among its peers in the Select Registry. If you are considering visiting for the first time, look no further and book it now! You are in for a treat. Whether you stay in a room in the inn itself or one of the surrounding cottages, you will find the accommodations roomy, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed, each with a character all its own (I've stayed in almost all of them over the years). And as I wrote in a previous review, one of the added delights of a stay at the Brampton is meeting the other guests, in the breakfast room, over afternoon tea, on the spacious wrap-around porch, or walking the beautiful grounds. They are invariably interesting, friendly folk from far and wide. Great inns attract great guests!

Very friendly, helpful staff, beautiful location and grounds. The leaves were still very colorful and the grounds were well manicured. The numerous gardens must be beautiful in the spring and summer. Loved the tall ceilings, wood floors and fireplaces. The included breakfast choice was wonderful and also fresh fruit and baked goods. Cookies, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh water and muffins were available all day and evening as well as 4 o'clock tea. Wonderful sunroom and outside patios with gas fireplace. We had a wonderful stay in this stately manor. Very close to town yet you feel as though you are in the countryside.

All I can say is WOW! The Brampton Inn is amazing. The grounds are beautiful. The inn is absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in the Fairy Hill Sweet and it was incredible. The only downfall was it wasn't fireplace season yet. I purchased a romantic getaway package that included lunch the second day as well as dinner with wine the second night. Plus staying in a suite or cottage gets breakfast delivered to your room. All of the food was absolutely delicious and I believe was locally sourced. Tea time everyday was great with delicious cookies, homemade marshmallows for hot chocolate, delicious crumb apple pie, and awesome buffalo chicken dip. The staff were all incredible, welcoming and polite. I purchased a 90 minute couples massage as well and it was done in our suite. The massage package was incredible and very relaxing. Overall this was a great weekend getaway and we cannot wait to go back again. P.S. my wife told me I had to say it reminded her of the show Gilmore Girls. I'm sure some will understand the reference.

What an absolutely wonderful place. One of the best weekends I've had in years. The cabin was beautiful, the food, excellent, the service stunning, the location beautiful. Cannot recommend this place enough. Planning to take my spouse here as we can as long as we live in the greater metro area. Such a great weekend trip.

We have stayed at the Brampton Inn for our Anniversary the past 3 years. We always love it. Rooms are great and always very clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is wonderful with coffee and cookies always available (which is sometimes too tempting). Close to Chestertown and all the great shops and restaurants there. Plus if you love animals their outdoor cats are always around. We love seeing Squeaky and Poppy.

This is a beautiful venue for your special day! I got married to my wife in 2023 here. Once you drive on to the property it's like you are in a different world. The service was wonderful and the grounds are maintained meticulously.

As always, this place is the ultimate in B&B experiences. We had our wedding here 5 years ago, which was phenomenal to say the least, and returned this last weekend for our 5th anniversary! The hospitality was amazing and we loved every minute of our stay. We are definitely hoping to make it back here again soon. Kuddos!

The Brampton Inn is such a lovely place to stay. Close to Rock Hall and Chestertown is right down the street. We loved our cottage and breakfast was amazing. The staff couldn’t be anymore friendly. This was our third time visiting and will go back next year.

Our room, the Emory Suite was very spacious and comfortable. It had a separate sitting room which was ideal for relaxing after a walk around town or the Inn’s 32 acre property. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We look forward to a return visit.

Everything was perfect. From the beautiful grounds, the exceptionally friendly staff, to the perfectly appointed cottage, we could not have had a better experience. We will definitely be back. And the cookies! And the breakfast!

We stayed at the Mulberry Cottage and it was great — just the right size and had great amenities (soaking tub, rainfall shower, etc). We chose a package to eat most of the meals in the room. All the food was excellent and served right on time. We were stuffed by the time we left. Outstanding place for a weekend getaway. We did spend an evening in Chestertown, and it is a quaint town. A perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle and spend a romantic weekend. Highly recommend the Brampton Inn.

We could not have asked for a better experience . . . the staff was warm and attentive, the grounds lovely, the room (Poppy's Retreat) quiet and comfortable--the bed mattress was superb. Breakfast was delicious and substantial . . . I don't know what else to say. We are so glad we stayed here and recommend it highly. (One thing to add, actually: Do know that historic Chestertown is a quiet place, meaning that most restaurants are closed on Sunday evenings and even on Mondays. We drove over to Rock Hall--15 minutes or so--for some very nice seafood). Again, we had a wonderful stay at Brampton.

The Brampton Inn is a great find in Chestertown, MD. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the historic inn is set on a large property with well-done gardens. The service was also top-notch, well above most Bed and Breakfasts. Don’t miss their breakfast, it’s delicious! It’s a great place to relax and unwind for a few days.

Everyone we met made our mini vacation perfect. Very pleasant and willing to take time to speak with us to answer any questions. Our room, Emory Suite had a separate sitting area which was quite nice. In cooler weather we would have enjoyed using the fireplace. Very relaxing stay. We will come back again.

We visited the Brampton Inn for a weekend away for my husbands 40th birthday. Our stay exceeded all my expectations! The staff was wonderful and amazingly accommodating in getting everything set up for me before we got there, from dinner reservations to massages, to a winery tour! Everything was 5 ⭐️’s! We stayed in Marleys Cottage, it was spacious and adorable, the bed was comfortable and the outdoor tub was a favorite of mine to read in! We relaxed and loved the property and really enjoyed breakfast and the cookies! Thank you! We will be back soon!

We really enjoyed our time at the Brampton Inn. Everyone was so accommodating and nice. Our room was absolutely perfect! We stayed in the Fairy Hill Suite with our two young adult children. We are definitely looking forward to staying again in the future.

Very relaxing and pleasant. They had everything we could want or need. We stayed in Poppy's Retreat, which was the cheapest room listed but it was still very nice. The shower has jets for two people. The stairs are steep and narrow in that room only. Food was great. Everything in excellent condition. I would like to return.

Excellent service, lovely well-kept property, delicious breakfast. Many little extras like homemade cookies, wine at tea.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brampton Inn. We spent time talking with Dave (the owner) about the history and work he's done. The room and food both exceeded expectations. We'll be back soon!

My husband and I stayed here in July for our wedding anniversary and we had a fabulous experience. Not only was the Robin’s Nest very clean, comfortable, and exactly what was advertised, the surrounding property was beautiful and the staff were friendly. The grounds are amazing, with a wrap-around porch, walking trail and gardens. The owners greeted us upon arrival, and the breakfast staff provided outstanding food choices and service. Homemade cookies and snacks are available around the clock and they hosted tea time from 4-5 PM. I was very surprised to see the one-star review about the Robin’s Nest, as our experience was completely different. The Brampton website discloses exactly what you will get and should expect from your stay in the separate cottage. We are looking forward to returning when the weather is cooler, so we can take advantage of the woodstove and outdoor fire pit.

We'll definitely visit the Brampton Inn again in the near future! It's a beautiful, relaxing setting, wonderful food, staff & accommodations too. Even though it was August, we thoroughly enjoyed the outside fire pit in the evening when things cooled down.

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing stay at the Brampton Inn. We enjoyed a delicious, freshly-cooked breakfast each morning. Afternoon tea was also scrumptious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The inn, its gardens and the natural beauty of the surroundings offer a private and countryside ambiance that ensure total relaxation. We were star-gazing the first night while sitting by the fire pit. We sampled some blackberries from the little garden in front of our cottage- that was such a treat. We had a totally enjoyable experience and highly recommend a visit to this inn.

Beautiful bed and breakfast.Quite charming..We had a spacious room and very comfortable bed. Breakfasts were amazing .Got a chance to speak with owner and hear the story of the house. Location is ideal for exploring the many towns on the Chesapeake. We will be back..
