That’s what this place is—a chaotic rollercoaster of crispy, juicy chicken that’s drenched in some kind of spicy sauce from the depths of hell, but in a way that’s lowkey addictive. One bite in, and it’s like your mouth is having a full-on breakdown, sweating bullets, eyes tearing up, but you just *can’t* stop because the pain is like...weirdly satisfying? If you’re ready to flirt with culinary death and emerge with a fireproof soul, this is the place, fam. Just, you know, maybe have 911 on speed dial.

Brave Idiot is a must-try in Nashville! The hot chicken is hands down the best in the city, and the Mattie Melt is fantastic too. Everything tastes very high quality plus the portions are huge. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu!

Every time I get to have Brave Idiot I try to get something different. Never had a bad meal or experience. If the picksy chick is available you’ve gotta get one. If you’re really hungry, get the crunch smash.

If you've met me, you've heard me rave about Brave Idiot. In a town of chicken and burgers on practically every corner, what they are doing is next level and in a class of its own. The quality of the ingredients, the scratch-made spice mixes and sauces, and innovative recipes never stray far from my mind. My personal favorite for lunch is the classic hot chicken tenders option at the 'it's kitten hot in here' heat level which IMO is hot but not too hot. The flavor and technique on these tendies put Hattie Bs and the like to absolute shame. For brunch, don't sleep on the spicy chicken breakfast burrito *pictured*—Spicy tendies, creamy pimento cheese, fluffy egg, crispy tots, and chipotle sauce—*homer simpson drool* You have to follow them on IG for crazy good specials (like the bloody mary chicken sandwich they did for Tomato fest *pictured*) and peak kitten content and memes. Last but not least, the service is outstanding and everyone who works the window really gives a $h!t about what they are doing. Every order is taken and made by a small but mighty team and is worth the wait. If you're impatient and hate the unknown element like me, the online ordering genius hack is selecting the time on your order (click 'Change' by the ready by time) and placing your order in advance. I lied, one more thing—Brave Idiot puts the proper respect on cat owners—offering a 10% discount at the window when you show them a picture of your kitty. All this to say. Go. Now.

Every time I drive by No Quarter my mouth starts to water. I am serious when I say this is the best burger and hot chicken spot in Nashville! I usually only get a schmedium and it has the perfect amount of spice for me. Treat yourself to the specials when they're available because they go fast!! Totally worth the wait, and lives up to the hype.

Dylan and crew just know their stuff. The chicken is arguably the best in town and the heat levels are on point. Everything I've had is outstanding. Don't sleep on the burgers or the crunchsmash!

I have been trying to align my schedule so I could try Brave Idiot for quite some time now. But the wait was well worth it. All the offerings are definitely fun and creative but I knew I had to try the classic hot chicken sandwich for my inaugural visit. I ordered heat level 7 and it was definitely a nice mix of hot, tasty and painful. The pimento cheese is a nice addition and the classic pickles are of high quality. We also got the Donut Boi as it was very much brunch time and this sandwich definitely encapsulates that well. The donut adds a nice sweetness to the very rich combination of smash burger, cheese and a fried egg. The sandwich was a bit structurally unsound but still ridiculously delicious; just get plenty of napkins. Overall a great meal that was made even better by the cat owner discount, just show them your kitties! I'll definitely be back, hopefully very soon.

Wife and I got the Hot Chicken Sandwich and Chicken tenders, both level 6 hot. Chicken here is incredible, juicy with great flavor and definitely spicy. Chicken Sandwich was delicious, loved the pimento cheese and pepper relish that was on it. We also got a side of their ranch & reaper ranch, both are great! Highly recommend!

Stopped here while visiting Nashville for the week. My husband and I split a hot chicken sandwich and tenders at the level 6 (hot). This was our third and favorite hot chicken spot we tried during our visit. The spice and flavor was fantastic and the chicken was cooked to perfection - nice and juicy, not dry at all.

In my opinion, there is no question that Brave Idiot is the best food truck in Nashville, and it is among my favorite restaurants in town. I take everyone who visits from out of town here and they are always blown away. It's clear the owner has a real passion for his food. He keeps prices reasonable and has fun specials. Can't say good enough stuff about this place. It's also right next to a great bar. One note: I recommend checking his instagram before going. Being that it's a food truck run largely by a single person, it's hours can sometimes be unreliable, so checking in advance is the best tactic for avoiding the disappointment of driving out and finding it closed.

Holy hell it is hot, scale down lower than what you think you’d. We were struggling.

So many words could explain what I think is a hidden gem. All the Employees are energetic, happy to see you, and love to chat. Ron told me about the Food Truck and how he loved to work and cook there. So of course I had to check it out. Ron showed me around, introduced me to everyone. Now of course we want to know about the food. I got the tenders and price was great. It is cooked to order. When my buzzer went off I grabbed my food and it was HOT and FRESH. I got to talk to some of the Employees while I ate and had great conversations about the food truck. I think I can say that this is better than Big Shakes, and Hattie B’s, and the best part is you don’t have to wait an hour in a busy line. They are currently building what I believe is a pad for more outdoor seating which is a must have as they are growing! I know Brave Idiots have great things in store for them and hope to see them open more. Parking is tight at the moment so come prepared to walk a very short distance if all parking is taken.

Incredible food truck! Love that you can take your food into the bars to eat or enjoy it outside at one of the tables. My impossible crunchsmash was so good that I couldn’t stop eating it. I was full halfway into it but ended up crushing the whole thing because it was just that good.

FIRST EXPERIENCE!! I would post a picture if my food wasn't already devoured. Absolutely the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Hands down. 10/10. If you haven't checked this place out, run... run as fast as you can. Or drive, it's up to you.

Short Review: if you like food, come here. Borderline criminal in how well priced everything is for such high quality. 11/10 Longer review: Phenomenal hot chicken. It's cooked perfectly. The spice level is just right (I got 6, id probably only go up to 8). Kimchi fries are next level. It's gonna be hard for me to try new items on this menu bc I'm gonna want the same. Service is 10/10. Hubba hubba tiki tonk is the place to get drinks and rest. Ive had a lot of the Nashville Hot chicken places, Prince's, Bolton's, Hattie B's, pepper fire, party fowl. And all of these places have great hot chicken and offer their own unique spin but this place was a religious experience. It's like when Anton Ego ate Remi's Ratatouille and had flash back to his childhood. That's what you experience here.

The food here is EXQUISITE! The crunch wrap is a especially tasty, and packed with all sorts of toppings! Service can be a little slow on weekends, but it's worth the wait! I would recommend to any Nashville citizen or tourist!

If you want to some great Food truck Food check out the Brave Idiot. We loved the Hot Chicken but the pesto pasta, the Melt and the Crispy Boi burger were even better!!

Picked up 2 wonderful Hot Chicken Sandwiches and an order of kimchi fries and ate them at the neighboring Hubba Hubba tiki bar. It was threatening rain and the wonderful Ron, who guided us through our order, recommended Hubba Hubba instead of just going back to our room. We ordered tropical drinks and our pager soon went off. The sandwiches were piping hot and so crunchy and flavorful! They had enough sweet pepper relish and pimento cheese to add to the sandwiches but didn’t overpower or make them soggy. We found heat level 4 (yippee cayenne, lol) to be right for us. Quite a bit spicier than fast food spicy chicken but not numbingly so. The kimchi fries were tasty and the supplied forks came in handy since they were fairly messy.

I ordered online, which was super easy. We tried a few different items, and all of them were delicious. Love the cat theme on the truck. I wish I had known about the discount if you order there and show them a photo of your cat. We also stopped in the pinball bar next door to get drinks while we waited. It was very fun.

We were from out of town and knew we wanted to try some authentic hot chicken. So the usual suspects can be seen at the airport. Prince's, Hattie B's, 400 Degrees. But as it turned out we were steered away from all of those by some locals who told us Brave Idiot is where it was at. 100% on point. Delicious hot hot chicken. And the Pesto Pasta Salad? 🤌🏻Perfect. The best part to me at least. We sat down in the Tiki bar. Realized we didn't get napkins. And as I approached an arm appeared while I was still 20 feet away with a handful of napkins. Well done chef.

Its a simple Nashville hot chicken sandwich that tasted really good. The bun is so soft and paired well with the hot chicken thigh fillet and pimento cheese. A nice food truck sandwich, so simple and so good!

So glad I picked this spot out of all the chicken sando joints in Nashville! Not only was it the crispiest chicken in a sandwich or quesadilla I've ever had, but the smashburger was very well seasoned and browned/burnt to perfection. Fries were crispy and hot and the pesto pasta was delish. Definitely a highly recommend stop if passing through Nashville!

The hot chicken sando is a religious experience. Going in I was skeptical of their perfect 5 star rating on google but Brave Idiot absolutely delivers. Every single element of the sandwich was perfect. The soft bun, savory chicken thigh expertly breaded and fried, with the pepper relish, pickles and pimento cheese spread…it just might be the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had.

Hands down the best hot chicken in Nashville. I've tried out every other place and none are as consistent in their heat levels or quality of fried chicken. Also, the best part is how the owner is always pushing creative boundaries in the best and unique ways!! I'm always trying to go back here when there is a new special because they're all worth trying. Every time that I think it peaks, something new like the hot chicken with gravy pops out and I'm just floored. Definitely worth the visit if you're a local or in town.

The Totes Ma Goats is the best burger I’ve ever had, and I’m old and have eaten a lot of burgers. The basic burger parts are outstanding and then the balance of flavors from the toppings is a miracle. Eating the whole thing is too much and makes me feel gross and I can’t wait to do it again.

A nearby bartender recommended this place to me. I would have never known this place existed if I wasn’t told about it. The food truck was tucked away behind a building. The chicken sandwich I had was amazing. I got level 4 heat, and it was perfect. Highly recommend this locals gem!

The food is great, the owners are great, you can order food and wait in either of the two bars next door or they have picnic tables. What more could you want. Chicken is super juicy and crisp. I got the more cowbell heat level. I love spicy stuff and this was definitely spicy. Not inediblly spicy, but a good amount of pain. Just what I was looking for. Oh, and the crinkle cut fries are about as good as they get.

Walked here during Tomato Fest to try their special festival menu. We barely missed them being sold out so tried some classics. I got my hot chicken at a level 4, which to me was spicy but not so hot it was distracting. The chicken thighs were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Definitely would eat here again. Added bonus that you can wait for/eat your food at the nearby bars like No Quarter or Hubba Hubba.

I am obsessed with this food truck! The chicken is perfectly cooked and juicy, the breading is the perfect amount of crispy, and the heat level “It’s kitten hot in here (shmedium)” is PERFECT for me. I do wish they were open more, adjusted their hours, and maybe found a place to park with more parking for others, but other than that, absolutely perfect! I have been to A LOT of hot chicken places, but I think this one takes the cake!

I am truly obsessed with Brave Idiot!! Hands down the best hot chicken in Nash, but if you get a chance to try a Curry Up or BrunchSmash, do it. I’ve been following Dylan around since the pop-up kitchen days and haven’t had a single bad bite (and I’ve tried most of the menu and specials!!). 1000/10 for creativity. We are sadly leaving Nashville, and Dylan agreed to make us a tendie tray + a ton of pesto pasta salad for our going away party at a super reasonable price. We will absolutely be back for our fave foods from Brave Idiot and encourage you to enjoy it every chance you get 🥰😊

Finally had the opportunity to check out Brave Idiot, and I really regret waiting so long. I couldn’t choose between the SEC Bagel and the Donut Boi, so I got both. I don’t regret this decision, either. The Mr. Aaron's Goods Everything Bagel used for this menu item is one of the best I’ve ever had. I do regret not yet checking out his offerings. The SEC Bagel was fabulous, but I’d probably request they go east on the chipotle sunshine sauce. The sauce is great, but the amount didn’t allow the flavor of the sausage to shine through. I was a tad nervous the East Park glazed donut could make the Donut Boi a bit too sweet, but that definitely wasn’t the case. The sweetness perfectly complemented the Bear Creek beef, grilled onions, cheese, fried egg, sunshine sauce, and pickles. My wife was kind enough to let me try a few of her Hot Tots. While these were nothing more than basic tots with a mildly hot seasoning, they were absolute perfection. They were perfectly crispy, which is something I can almost never find. The amount of “kick” was perfect for my tastebuds.

If you’re on a road trip and have time for just one meal in Nashville, you won’t regret coming here. We had the hot chicken sandwiches - yippee cayenne was the perfect level for us, enough to feel the heat but not so spicy that you can’t taste any other flavors.
