We made a point to visit Miss Brenda based on the amazing reviews. She actually has RETIRED, and now only serves enough meals for her long-time customers. But, she offered us a meal and we gladly accepted. The food was phenomenal. I don't know her secret to making everything taste better than you thought it could, but she does! So while she is an amazing cook and a total sweetheart, please know that you might not get served here any longer. But I think she said she does still cater if you're interested! Love this old school eatery. Set inside a her home Mrs Brenda serves up some terrific home cooked meals. I had some of the best fried chicken ever and enjoyed the red beans and rice. The Mac n cheese was a-1! The cobbler was very good as well. I can’t wait to eat here again! Idk how I have never been here before. Definitely a hidden gem in new Iberia and likely the best food you will find locally.

Another big hit in New Iberia, LA. Ms Brenda is doing her magic in that place for 30 years. The lunch menu changes daily, I had the turkey necks stew (amazing), Turkey wing (super succulent), sweet potato and white beans with sausage (really good stuff) and rice of course. God bless her and if you are in the Arlington, TX area try her son place Damian’s Cajun Soul Cafe as well. Real soul home cooking.

I just went for the first time yesterday. Excellent food & the owner was running the whole thing by herself. She told me a little history of the place, advice, told me about her family, & her love of cooking. Authentic & awesome soul food made with extra love & a staple of the community. I will be making the drive to see her again, despite living much further north.

Love this place!! It's a small hole in the wall but the food reminded me of my grandma's and mother's cooking. Ms. Brenda is so sweet. Actor Tommy Lee Jones and his film crew ate there in 2007. Please stop by for a good ole homecooked meal !!

Wish I could give them more stars, thought twice about it before we parked, looks like an old house, but we herd about this place all the way from Houston. I'm so glad we decided to give it a try. My wife has made the best meatloaf I've ever had until today. By far the best I've ever had, everything was top notch. This is true down home southern cooking and service at its finest. Came in again and WOW, best etufea period. There is no way to explain the taste of the rolls, had to get seconds on green beans and the fish is light and fluffy. Good thing I live 4 hrs from here. This place is addictive

My first visit was yesterday. A friend of mine put me down with Ms Brenda. Was so pleased with my first visit return this morning for breakfast with my wife, an after my wife's Dr. Appointment we we were there for eleven for lunch. Will be supporting from here on out.

We met Brenda at her restaurant. She was so pleasant. She cooked up some baked chicken and it was delicious!

It doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside but dont let that stop you from going. The food was phenomenal! Even the side vegetables were bursting with flavor. We took our food to go, plate lunch style, but there are tables to dine in if you choose. I haven't had food this good since my grandmother was alive. The ladies were very friendly and she even gave my son a quarter to buy a gumball. This was my first trip but I will definitely be back.

Best food in Louisiana! Didn't get to meet Brenda herself, but her daughter is equally as wonderful. I could eat the Pork Loin and rice smothered in gravy everyday for the rest of my life. Junction City Boys approved
