Didn’t eat here but stopped in for a drink and loved their espresso martini! The service is great and friendly and the prices are really reasonable! They also had live music which was super fun.

Typical American place where stars and stripes flags stand out, screens broadcasting football and baseball accompanied by background music. The food is good and in line with what the place is. The quick and efficient service and the informal environment where it is also possible to sip something without having to have dinner given the large counter... Advised!

It was beer, nothing special there

The ribs and spicy chicken bite appetizer are fantastic. The deep fried pickles, coleslaw we're definitely not as good as I remembered them and pretty gross.

Huge bbque fan. Food was really good. A couple things here. Need to offer more meat combo options. Only one option, it's like a sampler. Brisket was very good, I opted for the half fat and lean, nice spices and crisp ends. Wife had the pork sandwich. If you are not a fan of slaw, they put it on the sandwich. Pork was quite tender. Wings were some of the best I've ever had. Not over fried and had a nice juicy smoke flavor. Most of all the sauce was very good. Not many options but solid flavor and not too sweet. Nice eating area outside and the inside was chil'n. Do not park at the self park right up the street close by unless you want to pay $31 for an hour and a half. Ouch!!!

I had pork ribs there. The skin was completely toasted, it scared me a little but actually the taste was wonderful. Also, the fries served waffle style, very good and very crispy. Accompanied by a good beer. In short, an excellent memory.

I went in the middle of the afternoon, the service was quick and very helpful. This portion was very well prepared and tasty.

Went here on Thursday and Maddie was our server. Super friendly and excellent customer service. Thank you! Food was delicious too! Had the combo plate and skillet biscuit. Both very good!

Extremely friendly staff, great atmosphere and great food

Walked outside to get a breath of fresh air and I was denied re-entrance with no warning and despite standing next to security the entire time I was outside. Not a drunk troublemaker.

Everything was so good and the servers were really nice, the ribs are amazing!!

Price for a burger on the paper menu was $14.95 but their electronic menu said $13.95. I showed the waitress and she said okay I'll tell the manager but didn't seem to care and still charged me the higher price. Then I also got the bill and they charged 3% surcharge for nothing... not credit card or anything. Just weird. Food was good.

Absolutely horrible management. My shoe broke in half and I asked a manager for help by placing my hand on her shoulder, so I could remove my shoe. She kicked me out because “I laid hands on her” and refused to help me locate my phone and friends. Then, as I was waiting outside with no way of contacting help, I asked if I could have a seat at one of the outdoor stools. They refused to let me sit, and I was appalled by how rude and unprofessional the management team handled the situation. They put me in an extremely unsafe and vulnerable position after I asked for help, shame on Bub City staff.

Great spot to grab a beer and some bbq on a nice day. We were able to sit outside even on a busy Thursday summer concert night. We were greeted by the hostess who quickly helped us and guided us to our table. Our server was amazing! Checked in regularly on us. The food was great! Highly recommend their Mac and cheese and brisket plate! The Mac and cheese portion is huge so it’d be a great one to share!

Amazing experience. The vibes of this fun country bar are one of the best in the city. We were greeted with a smile from the hostess, immediately sat on their magnificent patio. Music playing, shaded tables, people watching in the heart of city. Our server Jeff was very pleasant, knowledgeable about the drinks menu. The manager, Carlie (sp?) personally greeted us and was nothing but smiles and exceptional service ensuring we were pleased. If you’re in Chicago- make this place a must! You’ll have a blast.

Country in the city st this urban honky-tonk replica in River North. Ribs are great and well-proportioned. Customer service is attentive. Restroom access requires a bit of a hike but it's just a small negative to an overall positive culinary experience.

Get there before the show and gotta have dinner here!! We got there right before the Smokeout Festival ended and we were able to get a table and we ordered from the BBQ options. We had brisket, Buffalo chicken bites, burnt ends and everything was delicious. The live entertainment was excellent and we had a great service. We will definitely go back+

Loved this place. Great food, attentive staff, and great atmosphere.

As a Texan, there's always a special place for BBQ in my heart and Bub City was no exception entering my arteries with the best of them. The cornbread is some of the best I've had; watch out for the hint of spice it possesses. The tenders are thick and juicy and the brisket is cooked to perfection. I added pulled pork to my Mac n Cheese, but in my opinion it's better without the added sweet BBQ sauce. There is outside seating, not the comfiest but it's very dog friendly. As you can see our pup ate at the table. Inside looked like a hoot as well with Karaoke Wednesday evenings. Our server was kind, but there was noticeably less consideration for the outside guest. I would come back because the American flag on the grilled cheese makes me feel extra patriotic, the brisket inside the sandwich makes me wiggle my toes, and the entire place makes me want to karaoke some Luke Bryan.

It was a nice day out; and we had just left the movies and were looking for some place to have dinner last Sunday. We've always heard about Bub city, but never been. Even though we've been that way at 3 dots. So we decided to check it out, and we're glad we did. We sat outside since it was nice out, and was greeted by a kind hostess. Once at our table, our waitress came, and can I just say how amazing she was! She helped with recommendations, always checked on us, was friendly. She made the visit that much more enjoyable. We got the giddy up fries which was her recommendation, and they were delicious, and such a large portion. We had to take what we didn't finish home. We also had the hickory smoked wings which were amazing. My hubby got a prime brisket patty melt to go, which he loved, and I got the general Joe chicken sandwich. My only complaint is how small my chicken sandwich was. It was like a small chicken tender. The drinks were tasty with my favorite being the back torch tea, and his being the Wisconsin old fashioned. All and all, we had an appetizing dinner, with great service, and would definitely come back.

Fries are Amazing & atmosphere is very ambient with beautiful live music..great place to hangout with friends, we went in on a Saturday night! They also charge 10$ as cover charge which is completely okay for the live band vibes!!!

Very American store. Good and special selection of meat, a lot also smoked, like spare ribs or burnt ends. Rustic location, sometimes with live music. Lots of drinks and whiskey flights to try.

This was a nice little find, popped in for a meal and a quick drink. There are live singers there but we we didn't get to see them as we were in for an early dinner. We shared a pitmaster combo plate, the brisket especially was delicious. We had a side order of mac and cheese which was equally as good. Even though we were in early it was still busy and had a good atmosphere l. Service was also good.

I always get a warm welcome here and that really makes a difference….the current management here is phenomenal and somehow this one female manager always remembers me! I love that. I always come here on the weekends because my daughter and I love the bacon waffle they make for brunch. They also make amazing smoked chicken wings, and I do also recommend the giddy up fries, and the Brussels sprouts here. If you want bbq, they have chicken and pork ribs and beef brisket.

Security Jason is a great guy!!! Welcoming and made sure that we knew we would have an amazing time.

Well, that didn't age well. Prices are sky high, food quality is sub par, and what used to be a meal and enough for leftovers is now half sized. Lettuce fleece you. --- When you're on the hunt for the best BBQ in every city you visit you've got to try them all. Bub delivers the goods, really good ribs, tasty chicken, and BBQ beans are my goto favourites here.

I was happy to find the location in the loop. My go to had been the Rosemont location due to business travel. The Brisket did not disappoint at this location!

Amazing bbq, one of the best in Chicago. I had the brisket & the Mac & cheese was really really good.

Has an authentic Nashville look, with the stage and BBQ. I'm sure when there's a band, it's cool. But that's it. The ribs were good, but not $50 good. You get nothing with it. No fries. Just a shot of relish (they call slaw), a shot of BBQ sauce, and a sad price of the cheapwhite bread. Theyre much better than, say, TGI-Applebees. Just not on par with a real BBQ joint. Would def go again if someone else is paying. PS: the relish slaw is surprisingly enjoyable

My husband and I came last night we are from Michigan so we ordered the Chicago baby back ribs and we both agreed they were the best we’ve ever had and as two African American’s trust me we had our share of Bbq the meat was falling off the bone with a good crisp on them plus the sauce man taste like it drop right from heaven. I brought the Mac and cheese as well man that was amazing too. Plus Mila was very friendly and welcoming this made my birthday weekend so thanks Bub City we will be back

To start off, I am never one to leave reviews unless it's a good one. However, my experience here was absolutely horrible. The table I sat at was sticky and so was my seat. I was wear white and you can see a stain once I sat up from how dirty the place was. The staff seated me and did not ask for my order until around 20 minutes later? Not acceptable. Then, the drinks I ordered were straight water and very uncharged. Finally, the food was mediocre with not only them wanting to charge us for the more expensive option that we didn't get but they didn't give us the right side either and the food was not good. The one thing that is nice is the light hanging on the wall. Besides this, I'd say stick to Arby's or White Castle even for a better experience if you're actually hungry. Tony Lopez does not approve.

Unbelievably fast services and super good food!

They sold me a used hat. After returning home from my visit to Chicago, I unpacked my bag and looked closer at the hat I paid $25 for, and noticed the inside is all stained from being worn.

Stopped by on a Friday for Happy Hour and was treated so well I came back Saturday night and saw an amazing band. Staff was beyond friendly on both visits. Will visit again next time I am in Chicago.

Great bar and BBQ joint. Had the Cowboy Brisket Dip and Burnt Ends. The live music was sounding good, but we left early in the set.

Such a lively and fun bar. The nachos from here were some of the best I’ve ever had. The place starts to get packed the later it gets. Live music was super good. I will definitely be returning here.

Our server was awesome, and chopped brisket sandwich was very good. The burnt ends in the Benedict dish were fatty and somewhat undercooked and not very good. Probably will not order that again.

First time here, me and a friend. Food was alright, service was good. We felt welcomed until after we paid our $97 bill. We didn’t have much cash on us, so we tip the waiter the change from the $100. The waitress approached us and asked if something was wrong, and we were confused about what she was talking about. She complained that we didn’t tip her enough. So I apologized and tipped her a few more dollars and she still wasn’t happy. We felt very uncomfortable at this point. We’ve never had a waitress approach us demanding more money. All we ordered was 1 burger, 1pulled pork, a bucket of beer, and 3 cocktails. We did not call her for anything, and we didn’t have a big meal. We will not be returning because of our waitress.

The food at this location was bland and just not good bbq to out table. We asked for the fatty portion of the brisket and literally just got gobs of fat no meat.

We love Bub City!! So fun especially on a Friday night to wind down from a crazy work week. The back porch tea is my favorite.

Food was good, not great. Original fried chicken sandwich was bland, beans had an interesting (not sure if it was good) taste. Mac and cheese, brisket, giddy up fries, chocolate chip cookies were all really good. Service was on the slow side. Food came quick but getting another cocktail or water took forever. Then getting a bill took forever. Then paying the bill took forever.

Bub City is so much fun!! A great way to spend New Year’s Eve! Molly is a great great server and Mgr Tobias is so kind and helpful too. The food is excellent, especially the ribs. Great bourbon selection and they even sell bottle bundles at very fair prices.

Clean, friendly place. I had the chopped southwest salad, and it was pretty good. I also had a bottle of Lone Star. It was also good and cold. Our server was nice and checked on us to make sure everything was going well. There are several TVs to watch the sports and the bar is spacious too. Cool place. 😎

Went to River North last night, specifically for this place, and were turned away by an overly simulated bouncer on a power trip. He denied entry to my semi-autistic friend because he was fumbling with getting his ID from his Costanza wallet. The bouncer stood there yelling at him ID and no cash repeatedly, for some unknown reason, and then accused him of being "overserved" for taking too long. My friend was literally standing straight and not slurring speech, just trying to get his ID unstuck from his wallet. Pretty sad and disappointing but I guess that's why these types of guys, with nothing going for themselves, take that kind of job.

love!! Usually go here when visiting family in the city. Pictured was when we were celebrating Sheylyn’s bachelorette weekend! Was nervous about bringing in a large party but made a reservation before hand. Our waitress was so nice and got all our drink and food orders in super fast! Food is always delicious and the love band was setting up as we were finishing. Always love it here and need to go back when they do karaoke!

What a fun, great place to hang with great food and service. Molly is an excellent excellent responsive helpful and kind/fun server. The ribs fall off the bone and are so tangy and sweet. The wedge salad is refreshing and delicious. They also have great prices on hard to get Bourbon. Meagan at the bar is also great. She recommended a Rock Hill Farms single barrel bourbon - which I loved. Such great service!

I will never come here again. The host staff was very rude. I came in with a party of 5 and we ordered apps and drinks. After spending 300+, our polite server came over and said her shift was ending. She mentioned that we can stay as long as we would like but she would have to close our tab. We closed it and she thanked us and let us know that the new server would come by. 20 minutes had gone by and nothing (Not the issue). The host then comes by and rudely tells us that they need our table and we need to leave in 10 minutes (Issue begins). The original server then came over and said that she is sorry that the other server has not come by by they will and there is no rush for us to leave. The host then comes back and tell us that we must leave NOW. I let them know that I didn't understand the rush and there is a better way to communicate. There was clearly a disconnect but there is no reason to be rude. We were kind, spent money, & tipped well. I will not go back to a place that is rude and has communication issues when thee are tons of places downtown to choose from. It's simply not worth it.

Not bad. Overall experience went well. The band was great. Bartender was PHENOMENAL. hostesses at the start did not make us feel welcomed so my best friend and I contemplated leaving.. but the bartender truly made up for it. He was so attentive and kind.

Waited 20 minutes for service while employees walked by obliviously, even after asking for a server. I finally surrendered and walked out. There were less than 10 other patrons there at the time and just as many staff members. Clueless.
