Must try!! It gets busy quick but moves fast. Great food with a mostly great atmosphere—our table and chairs were hit by people trying to get to the ordering line about 6 times while we ate. Overall excellent place!!

Wow, this is the best BBQ I've ever had. The sauces were great, the meats smoked perfectly. The lemon popy seed coleslaw was amazing!

I’m actually from TriCities, WA (Pasco) and we are “in town” to visit family. They brought us by last night and it was surreal. The people, the atmosphere, the food, everything was AWESOME. We had the Ribs, Brisket, and Sausage as entrees and sides that included the Cornbread Casserole, Mac & Cheese, Coleslaw, and Baked Beans. All four of ate heartily for about $100. We will be back :)

Such a fun place to dine outside on the patio. Lots of families and so many picnic tables. And pet friendly patio! Staff brought her a water bowl and a smoky treat! Rush hour Saturday evening, arrived at 5:30pm and the line seemed long. But took less than 15 minutes in line and worth the wait. Love their Mac and Cheese and BBQ sauces.

My boyfriend and I are from St. Louis, and it’s been so hard to find an good authentic BBQ spot like back home. Today, after three years of living here, we found it. If you’re from the Midwest and don’t want to be disappointed, this is your place! We got the pulled pork, rib's, Mac and cheese, and corn casserole. 😍

Update....been back 3 or 4 times now. Most recently was tonight after picking up a friend at the airport. First time, will be back! Picked up my wife at the airport and was looking for good BBQ. I can see why it was a 4.7!! Had to get the brisket, pulled pork, and a half rack of ribs. All excellent and recommended. Love the cafeteria style.

It's been quite some time since I've truly had delicious barbecue. The food _ood_ was phenomenal. The ambience is very nice. This service was very good. I definitely enjoyed the food and I will be returning. We had the brisket sausage, the Turkey and the pulp work. Was very savory and tender

The outside dining was alright until we kept smelling raw sewage! The bbq was flavorless. We had to smother it in sauce to eat it. My children asked why I couldn't have just fired up my smoker instead of coming here! Idk how people could have hyped this place up for such horrible flavor.

I had originally planned to come on here with a sub-par review due to a service issue, but a gentleman (manager?) came to our table to ask how things went. Once I told him what had happened he went above and beyond to make up for the issue we had. The food was absolutely INCREDIBLE, the atmosphere is amazing, and the staff was amazing even considering our issue. I can't reiterate how amazing the gentleman was that helped us at the end. This company is lucky to have him and I will definitely be going back and recommending my work to use them as one of our catering options during our many parties!! I can't wait to go back!

I don't usually write reviews but man this place was fantastic with excellent service. My wife and I came when it was really slow but the food was top tier and the staff was so friendly and helpful that I felt compelled to write a review. Definitely recommend

Drove about an hour to try this place. Being from Texas, visited Louisiana, this place is less than average. Nothing jumps out. Brisket was fatty, cold, and not much flavor. Turkey was dry. Sausage had no bite. Just plan backyard bbq. Beans were spicy, and they didn't say they were spicy. No cornbread, thought they had cornbread Mac and cheese. I expect good bbq when their feedback is high. I'm just disappointed that I've only found 1 place in Tempe that almost measures up. Enjoy.

This place does get crowded and has limited parking. I love their sauces & and sweet tea! I didn't like their corn casserole. It tasted like under cooked corn bread. They need some tv's for sports games. The area for ordering is tight.

Caldwell County BBQ is absolutely amazing. Literally, the best BBQ I have tasted in AZ for a reasonable price as well. It was the first time for the Wife and I to visit this establishment, so we got the "Meal for 4" to sample a lot of the menu. Everything was great... Brisket is melt in your mouth tender and seasoned with a bold rub. Pulled pork was generous portion and makes an excellent sandwich with the included Bread and Pickles. The Ribs are a bit small, but so tasty and tender. Wifey and I both loved the sides too!!! Corn Casserole is great texture and taste. The Baked Beans are spicy but add a lil meat and it's like a home made chili. Probably the only thing missing is corn bread. Atmosphere is a bit lacking because it is hard to find a table in the house. Outdoors would be fine from October till April, but it's still over 100 degrees right now. Also parking lot is CROWDED and difficult. Service is quick and price for everything was $61.55

We love the family platter. We were a bit disappointed tonight with the brisket and the fact that 3/4 of our brisket was fat. This doesn’t normally happen but it was excessively fat tonight. The corn casserole & Mac and cheese are our family favorite sides.

Everything was amazing!! The brisket was moist and juicy which, sadly is hard to find. The pulled pork was perfect. The seasoning on everything was all perfect. The Mac n Cheese was delicious. Creamy and seasoned just right. You don’t need BBQ sauce but if you want it their homemade flavors are delicious. Pro tip: if it’s hot and you don’t want to sit outside, avoid busy hours or get it to go. The indoor dining area is fairly small.

Listen I don't just hand out 5 star reviews but this place seriously deserves every single star!! Simply AH-mazing BBQ, the staff was incredibly friendly, so helpful and kind. The place has a small indoor eating area and a super cute patio with picnic tables. It's way out in the middle of nowhere but worth the drive!!

The meat 1st of all was over the top it was smokey, juicey, and the the bark was on point then the side we got we also very good and everyone was super nice will absolutely make the drive from casa grande again.

Visited with family to celebrate a birthday. I’m from Kentucky where we have great barbecue but this place really beat everything. So good! I recommend coming at the least busy times. It gets very busy (and noisy) in prime times. The scent of the smoking wood (mesquite?) was wonderful!

30-year anniversaries are special, so my lovely wife chose Caldwell County BBQ for our special occasion. I am so glad she did! I had brisket, she had turkey. We ate it all and took 2 more meals of turkey home. I don't know what I've been eating all these years on Thanksgiving (I was told it was turkey), but it sure was season good as what I had at Caldwell County! Atmosphere was "chill", staff was awesome! Olivia was especially helpful and kind. Can't wait for Thanksgiving! Yeh, I said it...

Checked this spot out for the first time today and will definitely be coming back with friends & family. The staff was so helpful, knowledgeable and just all around took such good care of us from the time we walked in, till we waddled out. Ben (GM I believe) is doing an outstanding job with this place. Our food selection today consisted of ribs, brisket, turkey, sausage, pulled pork and a brisket topped baked potato ( we recommend using the “house” sour cream). For sides we tried some corn casserole, mac n cheese and potato salad. We also have a banana pudding to try later. Everything ordered today was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

First time here, I was amazed on how moist the turkey was! By far my favorite meat. The brisket was super tender and juicy. The pulled pork and the sausage were really good as well! The banana bread pudding was one of the best I have ever had! Definitely will be back!

If Texas and Arizona had a baby is definitely the perfect slogan for this BBQ spot. As soon as you park, you smell the delicious smoked meats. This is truly pit master cooking. Delicious and affordable. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend El General Patton, 1/3 pound of chopped prime brisket, 1/3 pound of pulled pork, and 1/4 pound of sausage. 1st time there. It was great! This is the location next to AFW. It was really cute outside with all the patio lights. ALL of the food was delicious. The customer service was very nice too. Someone came to our table and asked how everything was and if we needed anything. My husband even said that their straws were good too, LOL. Not flimsy like other places.😁

My husband was craving BBQ one night last week, and we have been meaning to try Caldwells. I got the Dixie V sandwich, and he got the El General Patton sandwich. We tried the Cole Slaw and Mac and Cheese. We got a slice of the Texas sheet cake, and it rivals my Mom's cake. Dare I tell her? Everything was amazing. The individual pecan pies looked so good as well. Next time, I am splurging and getting the baked potato with brisket.

Today we tried Caldwell County BBQ at the PecanCreek location. We thought they opened at 10:30 but this location opens at 11 however at 10:30 a very nice staff person let us in and took our order. We ordered jalapeño sausage to go. We wanted to try it for the first time. The gentleman offered us brisket samples. Is the first time that I’ve ever truly liked brisket. It was extremely tender, somewhat smoky and extremely tasteful. Every other brisket I’ve ever eaten tasted like iodine. I will be ordering brisket. Next time I visit. Are smoked jalapeño sausage was delivered and cut up in front of us. The taste is outstanding. I want to thank this staff this fine establishment for allowing us in early not saying a word about it and treating us wonderfully. We met the manager, Steve, who was very cordial and Knowledgeable. The building is very clean. The staff are wonderful and the food is exceptional. Thank you

My Grandma, Grandpa, my daughter and me ate here today for the first time and all I have to say is WOW this place is by far one of the best BBQ restaurants I've ever eaten at!! Everything was so yummy and melt in your mouth. The restaurant was extremely clean and the staff was amazing and super friendly we will definitely be coming back here!

Unfortunately we didn't like their food at all. BBQ was very spicy, sides were just ok. Very spicy sauces and pickles. Our kids didn't like that food either because it was really spicy.

This is one of our favorite BBQ places including; Texas Roadhouse, and Joe's Real BBQ in downtown Gilbert. Love the meat, the sides, the desserts, the sauces, mmm mmmm! Never had one single issue on many visits to this location and we'll keep going back.

Caldwell County is the Texas barbecue joint that the rest of Phoenix needs. Its the only true BBQ place in the East valley and as such generates a good crowd on weekends. There's plenty of seating inside and out, but expect to wait a few minutes if you need to stay away from the heat. Now onto the food. This place serves true central Texas by the pound meats and sandwiches. I got the three staples: Brisket, pork ribs, and sausage. The fatty brisket is exactly what you expect from a prime selection of meat and the lean is decent as well. The ribs, while not my favorite meat, may be the best in Phoenix, and the sausage is pretty run of the mill jalapeno cheddar but is great as well. I tried all of the sides and they're all tasty additions to the meal. Overall it's in the running for the best BBQ in Phoenix alongside Little Miss, but with a shorter line and on the east side of town. It's not as delicious as Texas' legendary joints such as Franklin BBQ, an inspiration for Caldwell, but it's still a must visit for any meat eater in town.

Omgosh, this is a hidden gem! I've driven by this restaurant dozens of times and only noticed the BBQ sign on a regular little building. However, upon driving around the side, a cute patio is discovered with misters, flowers, etc. The restaurant itself is cute and rustic. The food....HOLY CANOLI...THE BEST! They give you so much meat, we had dinner for later. They had their in-house sauces on the table, and heck ya, amazing too! Upon leaving, the server asked if I wanted some of the sauce to take home. Definitely going back!

Had high hopes but was disappointed. The food was delicious however the staff was not friendly. The staff taking the orders were rude and in a hurry. Didn’t even ask if I completed all the sides I wanted before saying how much bread do we want. This was our first time here sorry I can’t figure out the menu instantly. Then as we’re eating OUTSIDE my toddler was sitting on the table and staff came out and asked for him to be removed. So we left. Hope the staff keeps all the filthy birds and other creatures off the tables. Ridiculous.

Great food. BBQ seems to be expensive, no matter where you go. Calwell's seems to have it under control, while also providing meat with great flavor. Be sure to go after the sun sets. Their backyard style venue has a very comfortable vibe, with its picnic tables and ambiance lighting. Whether on a date or with the family, Caldwell's is an excellent dining experience.

Our visit was incredible. Asher was an incredible line serviceman and gave us excellent service. While eating the food was great, the place is open air and loud. Tyler was also amazing! As a Texan, I'm thrilled to say that Caldwell Barbecue is as good as it gets in Arizona! The brisket is phenomenal—tender, and flavorful. The ribs are equally amazing; cooked to perfection. And let's not forget the sides, which are fantastic and perfectly complement the main dishes. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. If you're looking for authentic barbecue in Arizona, this place is a must-visit!

I was very disappointed with the food. Brisket was very fatty, much fattier than anything I've had at Joe's in Gilbert. The corn casserole was delicious, but the beans were too spicy for me - and I like spicy. Will not be a repeat customer.

Amazing food and an amazing staff!!!!

first off, I love their food! The only reason I am not giving them a full five star review is because I absolutely despise any payment system that is set up to default at a 20% tip! For counter service? No one seated me when I came in, nor did a waiter come to my table with a menu or serve me for that manner. In fact, it was the middle of the afternoon and the place was empty, yet I still had to stand at the counter and wait for the group of employees behind the counter to finish chatting before someone came over to take my order. My order was 'to go' and I was in a hurry so didn’t notice the total defaulted to a 20% tip when I signed the electronic screen for payment.. For what are they expecting a tip for?? So my $90 order turned out to be $110 for the privilege of have someone slice my meat behind the counter. It’s my fault for not paying attention, but I also think it’s deceiving to default to a 20% tip for counter service, not to mention an additional tip jar on the counter. I’m sorry, but the tipping culture is just out of control these days! Tips should be earned none expected. The bottom line is employers need to pay their employees enough money so they don’t have to beg or take advantage of unwitting customers.

Every time I go to Caldwell County BBQ it just gets better. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. This is easily the best BBQ on the west coast. 10/10- thank you CCBBQ.

We came all the way from Mesa to eat here and hands down this is the best bbq I’ve ever had. The employees were awesome and friendly. And it’s extremely affordable. Me, my brother, and my mom all ate for around $50. Great family environment. Kaydance told us about their other location and I’m definitely going to check it out next weekend. I highly recommend this place for any occasion!💯

Caldwell's BBQ is absolutely fantastic! The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, and the brisket was perfectly smoked with a mouthwatering flavor. The sides are delicious too, especially the mac and cheese. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make it a great place for a family meal or casual dining. Highly recommend for any BBQ lover! Steve, the manager made our experience over the top amazing and we can't thank him enough!

For Arizona BBQ it's the best we found so far. Brisket is smoked nicely. Pulled pork is good also. Cornbread casserole is a great side. Their coleslaw and beans not so good.

Soooo good! We always get the el general Patton 3 meat sandwich with the cheesey corn casserole! 10/10! We also got the turkey sliders for the 1st time and the meat was so juicy! Really good price for $4 for the amount you get of turkey.

I've painstakingly built this body from filling it with a lot of Texas BBQ over the years, and I have to tell you this is some of the best I've ever eaten. The brisket and sausage were great, but those ribs were dry rub perfection.

Run of the mill BBQ joint. Brisket was good. Nothing really special. Serving staff was very impatient. Didn’t feel welcome.
