(Friday, August 30th, 2024) Today was my first visit to Cantoro, and I must say it was an excellent experience. From the moment I walked through the door, I was impressed by the scenery. They have a great selection, and their bakery, prepared foods, and meat department really stood out. I will definitely be visiting again soon.

Cantoro’s was outstanding, food & service were both great.

I bought a cake that was very tasty, but the food they sell list did not look very good. The bread made right there also seemed good to me

Wonderful market and trattoria.

Phenomenal food! The trattoria is one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Michigan. Seasoned to enhance the flavors of the fresh ingredients of the market! Great lively ambience and customer service always a pleasant and enjoyable experience to be dinning and visiting both the trattoria and the market. My only one star is I wish they had on site som to give recommendations or suggestions on wine selection!

While the service and food here are amazing, no drop-in seats are available most weekday evenings. Not everyone makes reservations.

Everything you could want under one roof. You will not be disappointed, whether you are shopping for imported goods, fresh house made cheese, food, and baked goods. Don't forget the gelato!

Nothing better. Phenomenal food, amazing service, great atmosphere. Bustling busyness but so unobstrusive for service. We have yet to have a bad meal or bad time at this restaurant, ever. If you haven’t tried a little bit of upscale Italian here, you have missed the boat. their Bolognese is unsurpassed.

I was there with a school field trip, the food and hospitality was Great!

Amazing. Will be back. Love her green bella olives so damn much. Fruit tart is incredible and worth every penny. Have a birthday coming up? Get any cake or fruit tart, you and your loved ones won't be disappointed. Eggplant parmesan is amazing. Every this is amazing. New favorite spot. Worth the 35 minute drive from Hamburg.

Fresh and flavorful food plus great wine followed by shopping in the market made for a delightful experience.

Super cool market, expansive. It is not cheap, but the selection is great. If you are a specialty shop and at a higher price point, you need to have an excellent selection.. which they do. Clean, staff was friendly, looks like they have good turnover so things are made fresh.

We have been going to the bakery here for years but every time we go, we’ve had some off experience (someone being rude, side eyes). Today was our last straw. I bought a cake from the bakery and walked to the front of the store to pay for it. The woman at the bakery who had given me the cake followed me to the front and was peaking over shelves to see if I was actually going to purchase the cake. Listen, if you’re going to be racist, at least be subtle about it. She ducked when she saw me notice her. We will never be coming back here after experiencing so many micro aggressions and then this final event. It’s a shame because we’ve loved this store for so long.

Amazing and overwhelming selections of fresh,prepare and bakery items. Go with a full stomach, but you'll still buy more than planned. They also have outside plants. Did I mention I had to circle for a parking spot on Thursday night? That says it all!

Beautiful restaurant, nice staff and good food. You can eat then do your grocery shopping after that which is so helpful.

My favorite Italian marker in the area! Happy to drive the 45 minutes to get quality items and yummy treats.

I’ve the pleasure of decorating at Cantoro’s several times for baby showers. The staff is always super friendly.

This place is a great little market for European goods. They have a terrific bakery with all sorts of goodies and cakes. We ordered a special made unicorn cake in the past from them and it was great. We love going to this place! Highly recommend!

There is so much to take in. We loved the selection of authentic food both prepared and to make at home. Great selection of everything you can imagine. But, they really need to update their selection of spices. Far inferior to most Italian markets. Other than that, incrediblr

Little expensive but this place has everything. Their prepared food is second to none. Great selection and the tastes are even better.

Some off the best food around. Wide selection of ingredients and meats and cheese. Their cake quality has gone down lately, but I'm giving it a five star just because the fruit tart is still really delicious. It's a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. The meals that you just heat up and eat are crazy scrumptious. Place is kept clean and neat and the personnel is helpful. Remember to take your time while going through the aisles. I know this sounds like an ad, but the place is just that great.

We had a bad experience with the bakery. We ordered 75 canolas for a graduation party. They were horrible . They were very soggy. We have gone to this market for many years. And this was very disappointing.

One stop shopping for everything authentic. Fantastic meat, cheese and fresh pasta sections, fresh baked breads and awesome bakery. Wine, veggies, gelato you name it they have it and then some.

Trattoria - Pleasant and professional service from Briana. Nicely checked on us regularly and made sure our water glasses were filled. Wonderful salads, pizza and spaghetti marinara. Loved shopping at the connected Cantoro market. Great pasta, dried salami, and sauce choices. Fresh breads and pastries, especially chocolate cannoli & turnovers are wonderful.

This is the Disney world of all things Italian. I've taken out of town friends here for shopping and lunch. Cheeses, homemade pasta and gnocchi, sausages, cakes and breads-just go and bring your cooler. Do not miss going to basement level to see wine cellar/party venue. The best Italian market and restaurant in tri-county area HANDS DOWN.

May be my favorite gorcery store. My family personally enjoys grabbing all the ingredents to make home made pizzas. Other staples we enjoy are the frozen scones which are very easy to toss in the oven to bake, mac and cheese bites, and lately the ground sausage. This is the type of store you go in for few things and leave with much more.

Cantoro's Prosecco is delicious, crisp, and not sweet- ideal option under $10. Perfect to drink solo or as a mimosa. The frizante will disappear within 20 minutes, so this is one for parties or swift indulgence. #flavafulltv

If your hungry for some fantastic groceries look no further, this is the place. Real Italian food, fantastic breads, produce is top notch. This is my favorite grocery store. The service is fantastic. This is a must so much more then a grocery store, this is a destination.

We’ve been here many times in the past and it has been good. The last two times not so much! The new management needs some serious psychiatric help! They are very demeaning, rude and aggressive with the customers! We are not hard to please group. I don’t. We will not be back until this GM is gone. With the way he responds to people. I can’t imagine it will be too long.

This is an honest review of the very mediocre service Cantoro bakery and cake designers handle customer orders. We placed a cake order on June 5 for a graduation that is set to be hosted for 50+ people on June 14. We went into the bakery to speak to the baker, and we were told to send in all requirements in an email. We sent in an email the same day. No response was received not the first time (June 5), second time (June 7), not even upon emailing them the third time (June 11) to both bakery and info@cantoromarket. I also called numerous times to check on the status of the cake order. I was told by the bakery manager to wait for a confirmation call the next day, which never happened. The highlight of this whole ordeal was when the bakery manager (4:30pm shift on June 11, 2024) put me on hold for 16 minutes, claiming later she was busy. She was not - I was watching her, standing in front of the bakery itself. This is utterly disgraceful and unacceptable. You can't keep a client waiting on the line for 16 minutes when you have 2 assistants taking care of 2 customers, and you have nothing else to do!! I have never seen anything like this before, and could not believe my eyes when she literally lied on the phone and said she was busy when she was not. WOW Cantoro - great job on hiring people who ethically represent you. On June 12 - 2 days before the 50+ people graduation - I received (finally) communication from Tasha that the requirements for the cake design need to be modified. What can I say to this... tbh I lack the words, and I don't think using foul language will do this service and the staff behind the service justice either. I am simply in utter disbelief, and I will leave it at that. Cantoro Bakery - You are officially the most unprofessional and non-customer centric bakery I have EVER had to deal with. I highly do not recommend their cake order service for lack of punctuality, professionalism, and timely communication (not to mention staff lying in your face about being busy). I recommend spending more money on better cake order services elsewhere which we ended up doing.

Best bakery around. Reasonable!

This is a great Italian Market. The fresh pizza is delicious, when you can get it. The last 5 times it was available twice, but once with pizzas, I don't like. The fresh pasta is great, but sometimes dried out. They have a nice selection of heat and eat Italian dishes.

Visited the Trattoria, with my fiancé and his family, for lunch as we were interested in using them as a caterer for our upcoming wedding. The building as a whole was inviting, clean, and provided a great first impression. The service was professional and attentive, the food was so delicious, and the bakery had the best deserts (even better later that evening at home). We were so impressed we immediately went and booked catering for our event before we even left!

They've got really unique items from all over. Gorgeous bakery, amazing bread (I use their fresh baked sub buns at my business/ deli).... it's a full-out experience to visit there. So many wonderful products..... you just have to go! And have time to take your time.....

Best place for groceries. It amazing to so unlimited varities of exotic choices.

Dinner was great here. But I think next time my girl and I will split a pasta dish and get an appetizer. But if you want to take a meal home. Definitely get your own dish. Lunch was great the next day..I love their Deli sandwiches too!

Nice store, but confusing layout.

If you are looking to cook a homemade Italian meal with proper ingredients, this store is FABULOUS! Plan to spend some time there. They also have premade meals you can buy at the counter & just reheat. The veal meatballs are delicious! Their meat counter has fresh meats & cheeses & a great lunch meat selection. Lots of pasta in 3 aisles, cheeses, olives, condiments galore. Huge wine selection too. Stop at the dessert & bread counter too.

A great neighborhood Italian market! I lived in Sicily for a few years and can find most of my favorites in this store.

Food when it arrived was excellent (although some of the food was cold). Service, through no fault of the waiter, was very slow (1.5 hours after seating). The restaurant is apparently understaffed. This was a departure from our prior positive experiences at Cantoro.

Excellent food at the deli and such fun selections around the store. Gelato flavors are always changing and are absolutely delicious! Can get lost here for longer than you think! Always worth a stop if you’re driving by and have 15 minutes to spare!

One of the best and most authentic Italian markets outside of New York, a true Michigan gem. Amazing food, spectacular staff, good prices, and extensive wine selection. The restaurant has great pizza and homemade pasta as well. Totally worth a trip if you’re in the area.

So good!!!! First time customer and a huge raving fan!! Appetizer and main meal was delicious and served to perfection. Plenty of food that you could almost share a meal! I had the Penne Ala Vodka and nightly recommended. Wait staff was also top notch!!

No question the food was very good and ample portions (my wife and I both orders pasta dishes). For the vegetarians out there; not a lot of options. I am nearly certain every entree and pasta dish contain meat; but my wife is used to limited options in metro Detroit and orders off menu pasta dishes. For the second time in 2024; and after making a reservation 3 weeks ago; we were given a less than desirable table. I specifically requested to be seated in the main dining; and we were seated in the cafe. My wife ordered the Old Fashion which is supposed to be Smokey. When the drink arrived - no smoke - my wife specifically asked about it. Our waitress blew it off and just said something like “I saw the smoke when they made it and the smoke disappears when it’s put on ice”. Huh? This one is odd and shady - our waitress asked us if we “wanted regular bread or Focaccia bread”. We were confused and then asked how about 1/2 regular and 1/2 Focaccia. Our waitress agreed. We expected a basket with two types of bread. She brought out a full Focaccia pizza. And, yes - it was on the bill. No surprise. She knew we were not sure and she was purposely dodgy and unclear. Good food. Disappointed about the table. Strange service experience. Maybe take out next time … maybe we are on the “bad patron list” … not sure what is going on …

Gem of a restaurant and a market place attached! Had a wonderful smoked salmon sandwich for lunch and a great shopping experience in the market. There is a gelato counter and a fresh bakery for a sweet treat! Everything from pre-prepared foods and salads in the market to all the fresh ingredients to make your own favorites.

This restaurant is attached to a market that carries premium products including local ones. Parking wasn’t difficult at all, although there was clearly a crowd the day of our visit. The atmosphere or the restaurant was nice and very busy. The menu was very interesting. My husband ordered a gnocchi dish made with braised beef and mushrooms as well as a pasta bolognese dish. I ordered a dish similar to chicken picatta that was paired with polenta and artichokes. I didn’t enjoy this dish at all, as it was very tart and overwhelmingly covered in lemons. Our waitress was on point, making sure to check in with us often, keeping our drinks filled. She showed concern when she realized I didn’t enjoy my dish and promptly put in a replacement meal of which I decided to go with the gnocchi dish (VERY DELICIOUS!). Courses of meal were paced appropriately and allowed us room for desert. The gelato is very yummy! There are many flavors. The green apple and key lime were perfect recommendations from our server Briana. Our anniversary dinner was definitely pleasing and we look forward to the next time we visit.

Just got back from a 3 week vacation in Italy and the first stop was Cantoro's. Italian done well!

Delicious selection of a variety of foods, wines, and grocery. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Expensive, but worth the price.

My daughter's bridal shower was in the upper mezzanine of Cantoro's and they were fantastic! The staff were not only professional but nice. The food was fantastic, including the deserts. Even though 2 guests arrived 1 hour late, they were still provided with meals promptly. Everyone enjoyed the area we were in which was spacious and had everything we needed.

This restaurant is tucked into a superb market. A great variety of fresh produce, baked goods, meat, and prepared foods. The restaurant itself is very nice, and the carpaccio and lasagna were fantastic!

This is the best Italian grocery store I have found in Michigan. So many imported products as well as sauces a huge selection of cheeses. They have it all and their bakery is truly impressive. Cakes, cookies biscotti canola, freshly baked loaves of Italian and other breads. If you're in the area and even if you're not (I drive 30 miles to go here) you have to visit this place. Highly highly recommended!

The restaurant receptionists are extremely dry and apathetic, they don't care about pleasing the customer. What really saves it is the food, very good. But I wouldn't go back.
