The food is not flavorful, it is very pricey but they give you a looot of food. I am personally not going back because for about half the price I can get a smaller portion that is much (much) tastier. I got Chilaquiles by the way. Nothing against the service, they were great :D

This is the first place I ever had a torta, almost 20 years ago and I went back to be nostalgic and damn, if they weren't actually better than I remembered! Awesome chorizo torta! Well worth taking the pink line a few stops! And the staff are some of the friendliest people out there!

Had a great time at Casa Cafe! I came here for an event and it was absolutely wild. My band played in the back and it was a great time. In terms of the restaurant the food was good, the place was clean, I enjoyed the decor, the staff was friendly and although the parking is sparse, I was lucky enough to get a spot right in front. What would I change? The menu is a little bit larger than it needs to be. This could explain the "long wait times" that i see the 1 stars saying. I would also make it a bit more explanatory. The numbers are very hard to see. A menu is a sales pitch so I would make it a bit more professional looking. I like how everything is transparent though. As opposed to gas up a restaurant with raves, I'll actually address some of the one stars I'm seeing... "The food was horrible and made my stomach hurt" - the food was good. It wasn't revolutionary. It's just a standard taqueria. One thing I did notice though and I hope the staff sees this, they're grabbing everything with bare hands. If I was the manager I'd make the staff wear gloves. "They talk crap about you in Spanish and assume you don't know" - I'm definitely not vouching for this although I could see where they might say that since the chefs are right there communicating. I'm spanish, I heard them call me kid. I'm definitely not offended but I'm also 30 years old.... I've worked at many restaurants, many different styles of food and the common denominator was they all talked about customers when they walk out the door. This is everywhere regardless what language. "Long wait time" - my wait time was average. Again, typical mistake restaurants make when they have more options than they need. I ordered a Piccadillo, didn't seem like a common order so they did have to whip it up. Their faces made it seem like it was coming out of left field. The restaurant reminds me of Susie's, the cheesesteak place that closed down. The staff is a bit elbow to elbow back there. Less floating is more efficiency. I like Casa Cafe. I see more long term potential for it as a venue with the restaurant as the side dish (similar to Beat Kitchen), as opposed to an outstanding, mainstay restaurant with the venue as the side dish. There's more potential from hosting events. There's was like 100 people there which is a great sign for a restaurant.

Food is always amazing, prices are fair and they sell a huge variety of Mexican food. Only downside is the parking is scarce.

Good service, their beef stew with homemade tortillas was absolutely delicious. Great taste, plenty of beef and homemade corn tortillas satisfied my hunger. Treat yourself if you are in the area. I will definitely return. I lucked out with street parking right in front.

We order burritos from here every Saturday / Sunday morning and the food is always delicious ❤️ Hands down best burritos around!! The staff is also friendly and patient! Love it here!!

We're delighted we found this delicious take-out/eat-in spot -- conveniently close to the Zenleaf Pilsen dispensary! Staff is patient and fun. Calling out the chorizo, nopales, al pastor, and guac as especially delicious.

Fui a comer con mi familia i la mesera muy despota. Aparte de eso estaba hablando mal de los mexicanos en nuestro día de independencia. En todo el rato estuvo hablando vulgar gritando .Esa mesera le da mala presentación al restaurante. Simple mente por meseras como ella no regresa la gente.

Service was awful I was setted first then 4 people came in after me there food came in first and I was last I came here all the time same thing happens all the time do not eat here I work at food service in chipotle I work at the busy location and where always busy but this place in rarly busy if they where busy I would understand but I look at the front nobody was seated at the booth table empty 4 people food came in before me like there orders where big my was simply for one persona burrito and rice took almost a hr terrible customer service last time I come here and every time I come there always raising praise a burrito steak 11 before tax everything hear is expensive and slow service a soda 3 where I can get it at the gas station for 1dollar

My father and I love coming here. The food is delicious and the prices are amazing for the portion we receive. The staff is always super friendly every time we visit. Overall, I definitely recommend giving this place a try for some real authentic Mexican cuisine and homemade tortillas.

just want to start off with love the atmosphere, love the aesthetic, food was great. i just have one small quam. immediately after walking in your eyes are drawn to a warning sign that says “WARNING: careful with chicken taco could have small bone”, i thought okay, interesting i’m just not going to get that. after perusing their lengthy menu, i decided upon the steak taco, which i shared my broke friend. the waitress was lovely. after two bites into my second taco, i noticed something hard in my mouth. i thought to myself “no! it couldn’t be” oh yes it was. i peeled the piercing object from my jaws and throw it onto the plate in disgust. my friends watched in horror as i inspected the mysterious object, and much to our surprise it was not in fact a small bone but a hard tortilla. thank god the sign was accurate! 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Their salsa roja is awesome and goes perfect with the pastor taco. Had the asada torta as well and the bread was nice and toasty but there could've been more meat/veggies. A very bready bite.

I was first introduced to Casa Cafe because I had to order catering for an event in the neighborhood and it was recommended. I worked primarily with Carmen and was supported by her husband and staff with some translation things. They were all wonderful to work with and beyond helpful. The prices were also fantastic in my catering experience. At the end of the day the food was FANTASTIC and everyone raved about it. I’ve since returned a couple of times to pick up dinner when in the area, which is not often, and my partner and I look forward to it every time. Casa cafe is now my Pilsen dinner spot.

Ordered by phone, lady on the food said it would take 20 minutes. I arrived to pick up the food and it took them extra 20 minutes to have the food ready. Once they gave me the food one of the waitresses came out yelling because they did not had the order complete. (At least they had realized this before I had left) Normally I don't leave reviews but after the long wait plus the horrible taste in food I will not and cannot recommend this place to anyone. No male cooks so Maybe this is why food takes too long and has no flavor. I paid $18 for 2 sopes with rice and beans. Terrible and expensive food.

Muy mala experiencia fui hoy sábado desde muy lejos para encontrar una güera de mal genio que nos dió los menús de mala gana y mala actitud después espere por mucho tiempo y llegó un señor mucho después de mi y lo fue ah tender porque ya lo conoce y no es justo porque yo ya tenía tiempo esperando y aparte con la mala actitud de la güera la mesera ni si quiera nos dijo demen un momento después los atiendo muy mala experiencia no vuelvo ah regresar y luego de lejos espero el dueño haga algo al respecto

Good Mexican food. Fair price. I go here for the fish soup and also tacos de cabeza. When there is no more sitting space up front they have a big sitting space in the back. The only thing I don't like is that the waitress kinda forgets about you when you're sitting back there!

Women-owned business. Good food with average price and exciting ingredients (but normal in the Spanish speaking neighborhoods). 1-star less as there is no deal, like Taco Dinner is a la carte. Availability and simplicity of just MENUDO (no fillers like chickpea etc). Just you, the tripe and red collagen soup in medium spice. 😁 Add-ins include onion, cilantro, some dry herb, salt and 3 wonderful housemade fluffy tortillas. CACTUS TACO - [to come] CABEZA DE RES (🧠 brain) - [to come] ❤️❤️❤️ my TAMARINDO drink. GREAT SERVICE. She is busy but handles it well by not forgetting about you. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. 😁

I introduced this place to my fiancé and recently realized he’d been sneaking off to eat there without me. LOL. All jokes aside, super clean, very fresh, consistently solid food. I really couldn’t tell you what makes their food taste better than the others, but it just does...Whatever is on the menu is done well. We have our standard dishes that we always order. I am not a fan of corn tortillas, but their homemade ones are an exception. Nothing fancy, but definitely our favorite Mexican joint, especially on cold winter days.
