Great place for Sunday brunch with friends or just general gathering with friends.

My experience was AMAZING!!! I would give it 10 stars if I could!!! Great food and Great service!!! This a must place to visit when you are in NOLA!!

Food Top Notch Service Top Notch Attention details… priceless. Chapter IV provided one of the best experiences in a long time. Everything was amazing and will definitely return again. If you get the opportuntiy, please visit Chapter IV. I would suggestion making a reservation. They are a very good restaurant and people love them.

This was our last stop and it did not disappoint! The crab fried rice was on point! The catfish and grits with the corn dressing was delicious. The ambiance and restaurant staff were friendly and informative. Will always be on our list when we visit.

I had been told to go by many and this was a big damn deal. I invited my oldest friend for Sunday brunch. The first red flag was calling the number online to ask if we could come early. The number doesn't work ....... We arrived at a very busy restaurant and was told it wasn't a problem to arrive early and we would have a table. At some point we brought up the subject of a drink ( its hot in new Orleans). Should have been a courtesy. We were offered to go to the bar and order a drink. Obviously we were not really servered a drink because; who knows why??? . We were not served and that's the point. We were eventually offered a table in the bar area. We took it so we could at least sit down. Bj was our server and there was a challenge to get water service( it was delayed for few minutes as he walked around with a water pitcher in hand). I want everyone to understand the water was not fit to drink so we did order cocktails quickly. A lady manager came by and was very hospitable and apologetic to even offer to buy the appetizer that I order. Outside of very good food; she was the last positive part of being at chapter IV. Great oysters, awesome wings and ribs, some of the best shrimp and grits, Creole creamcheese cheese cake with strawberry is my favorite. I use to eat it all the time when I worked at commanders. What made this the pits was how damn hot the restaurant was and the sound volume ultimately. We both sweated so much while eating that the awful water was used to cool off. I went to the bathroom twice to cool off in the sink. Picture a packed restaurant with glass windows floor to ceiling with hardwood tables and ceramic floors...... everything echos. No sound proofing and not designed by someone in operation and difficult to hold a conversation with a party of two. The experience so overshadowed the awesome food that I have no plans in coming back and this experience will be the butt of many stories for a big mouth southern man that works in the business. This should be a teaching moment for ownership because the sun has set on the negative experience and I don't see ownership have the talent or "juice enough" to recapture this paying guest. Shame on ownership for poor operation from such a talent Finally..... don't go to chapter IV unless it is to pick up to go food. It felt like we ate outside. It was that damn hot inside that restaurant.

A nice place to eat. Good menu selection -- the right amount. Prices good for this type of dining. I just had lunch - an oyster BLT. Sat at the bar. Good service.

The food was amazing!!! My friend and I sat at the bar and I ordered the seafood linguine 🥰 EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! Nice vibe and the bartender was super nice as well.

Outstanding. Beet/crab salad + oyster BLT + bread pudding. Local lifer relatives took us (party of 10) on a Tuesday morning. So clean and bright w awesome african-american art and background jazz. 3 of us ordered the oyster blt. Everyone loved it. I'm a beet salad fan, so the combo of beats crab and goat cheese I couldn't resist. This one should definitely make your shortlist.

We were in town for Essence Fest and had a chance to grab brunch. Our party of five ate off of each other's plate because everything was so GREAT!!!

I'm a shrimp and grits connoisseur of French Creole heritage, and I had the great fortune of being treated to brunch at Chapter IV during the EssenceFest FAM hosted by Hyatt Regency and New Orleans & Co. I've tasted dozens and dozens of shrimp and grits dishes around the world. It's my #1 favorite dish, so I sample it everywhere I go. With the very first bite, I immediately knew this dish here at Chapter IV was the best I've ever had. The shrimp and rich, creamy grits with creole sauce at Chapter IV is a true showstopper!!! 😋👏🏾🙌🏾 My compliments to the chef! 😍

We celebrated a friend's 75th birthday at a Sunday brunch and were very happy we chose Chapter IV. The food was excellent, the drinks exceptional and the staff superb.

I recently dined at Chapter IV and had an exceptional experience. The Creole gumbo and fish & grits were absolutely amazing—rich in flavor and perfectly cooked. The gumbo had a wonderful blend of spices and ingredients that truly captured the essence of Creole cuisine. The fish & grits were equally impressive, with the fish cooked to perfection and the grits smooth and creamy. The service was also top-notch, with a special mention to the bartender, a beautiful woman from Cali-Colombia who was both friendly and attentive. Her charm and professionalism added to the overall delightful experience. I highly recommend it.

Omg I don't know where to start, from the moment we walked in we knew it was going to an experience. It's a cozy spot not all glitz and glam but comfy, comfortable and enjoyable. We were greated with a humble smile and seated then to waited on my our very gracious waitress Joanna was awesome. We started with the Oyster Rockefeller on cream spinach, y'all it was so good we ordered a second tray😀. So it was four of us and we wanted something different so we can taste each others plate, the grits and fish is the signature dish so of course we ordered it and the glaze salmon, Crab rice and fish and the okra a meal all on its own, everything so delicious and well seasoned nothing else needed. To finish off we ordered two bread puddings that sauce was the hit. Everything about this place speaks volume that is worth it. We went on Father's Day as busy as they were nothing was short of excellent service and AWESOME FOOD. Can't wait for our next visit. The only thing street parking weekdays may not be as easy as weekends, but it's worth it ENJOY

Food is tasty, but expensive for small portions. Nice place for date night.

Went for brunch started with the bread pudding and then shared the oyster egg Benedict with a side of grits. If you eat dessert first, you don’t have to save room for it. Service and food were both amazing. Loved the artwork. Well done!

First time at Chapter IV & it was one of the best experiences we've had. Everything was beyond excellent, the food, drinks, service, & atmosphere. Absolutely no complaints! The Oyster Rockefeller, Fish & Grits, Grilled Redfish, & the Glazed Salmon are a must try. They also have some of the best bread pudding I've ever had. Definitely won't be disappointed. I cannot wait to visit again.

I am absolutely crazy about grits and this place did not disappoint. We only had 4 days in NOLA and I was determined to have a meal here. I had the fish and grits, my man had the seafood pasta. we had the ribs and chicken. everything was delicious. I can't wait to come back

For authentic creole flavor Chapter IV delivers. I had the gumbo, fish and grits, and red beans and rice all packed full of favor. The bread pudding is nice and fresh too. I love the art deco inside and the ambiance. Service is great too got seated promptly and food as brought out quick.

Of all the incredible food in Nola that I tried, this may have been the best! Perfectly plump shrimp and a nice sauce with the grits. Great cobbler. Even the veggie omelette was top notch.

Service was a bit slow but food was 10/10.

I really loved this place! The food was amazing. My group went for brunch and tried nearly everything. It was all soooooo good. My entire party of 11 was very happy. The service was also amazing! The visit was a month ago, so I don't remember her name, but our server was really sweet. She was on point with everything! The food and drink deliveries were perfectly timed. The server also had a guy helping her out and he was so sweet!!! I've never been to an establishment that had the food and service at a 10+ for me. It was an otherworldly experience for me. The atmosphere did leave a bit to be desired. The restaurant is in the CBD, which means parking is difficult. There is metered parking and some parking lots/garages around. It is also near the old Charity Hospital in NOLA, so it can seem a bit spooky in the area at night, as the building is empty. Also, it's industrial inside, which doesn't cut down on noise at all. Depending on where you sit, the noise can be a teeny bit overwhelming. Overall, this place is a 10 for me and I look forward to returning!

Excellent experience! The food was wonderful and the drinks were delicious. I highly recommend Chapter IV for your next breakfast or lunch. They have creative twists on some of the best creole dishes.

We hosted 40 business leaders at the restaurant during a private party. The food was excellent. The pre-event planning was handled with the utmost professionalism. The wait staff was friendly. I recommend Chapter IV to anyone who love good Cajun food.

Yummmmm! Everything on the menu besides the flash fried oysters is impeccably delicious!!! I’m not exaggerating. Every single item is delicious. The menu is complete with all the recipes you can desire while in New Orleans, but elevated. I think the most impressive thing about this establishment is how quick the food comes out. It reminds me of how Gordon Ramsay’s Hells Kitchen makes a steak in less than 7 minutes and somehow is packed with spices and flavor that would take days to marinate! Love love love, will come again. Sorry I didn’t get a picture of everything, but I did try the hamburger, fried oysters, rib & wings, fish & grits, crab cake, and gumbo. *chefs kiss*

Some of the best food in New Orleans - no question! Excellent service and atmosphere. Make a reservation if you are visiting at peak hours. Came here 3 days in a row on a trip to NOLA and everything was a hit. The best fish and grits I ever had and the pancakes were the closest to mine that I ever tasted but of course, BETTER. Do yourself a favor and visit. You won't be disappointed.

Lunch at Chapter IV is a must whenever you are in New Orleans!!! Great atmosphere, service and food!!! Joanne was great and very helpful and honest with helping us with our food and drink selections!!! I got the crab cake with fried green tomatoe which was very delicious!!! Everything about this place 5 stars! The hostess and waitress were friendly and the food was perfect. The pancakes were the best pancakes I ever had lol fluffly goodness! The potatoes and chicken were seasoned to perfection and the drinks were on point! I will be back!

I was back in New Orleans again (this city is like my third home), and this time, I was determined to check out at least two new restaurants. On my last day there, two friends and I had brunch at Chapter IV. They'd never heard of it, but they always trust my opinion and recommendations, so they were absolutely okay with giving it try. The first thing you need to know is that a reservation is required. This is a fairly new and popular restaurant, so try and book ahead. I think I booked 3 weeks before arrival.Not sure if that's a standard timeframe, but that's just what I chose to do. You will need a credit card to book. They do not charge your card. It's just on file in case you or members of your party do not show up. Please provide them with an accurate headcount. Your card will be charged $10 per person who does not show up. You can call them and update your headcount at any time in case something comes up or someone flakes out. This actually happened with us. We started out as a party of nine, and it dwindled to a party of three. I called the morning of and updated the headcount, and we were just fine. I'm not including this information to discourage anyone. Just providing details that others need to know before booking. We dined on a Sunday. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for their establishment. Much like most of New Orleans, it's first come first served street metered parking. We lucked up and got a space right in front as someone else was leaving and it was Sunday so parking was free. As we approached the entrance, we decided to take a photo together in front of the signage. A very nice young guy came out, greeted us, and asked us if we wanted him to take our photo. He then escorted us in, and we were immediately seated. The restaurant is gorgeous! They've outdone themselves. The decor, atmosphere, and ambiance is very welcoming, clean, and relaxing. A waitress immediately came over to take our drink order. We decided on mimosas. There were three different juices (orange, cranberry, and pineapple... if I remember correctly) and they brought over a bottle of chilled champagne for us to concoct our own. They were pretty standard and tasty. Everything on the menu looked appetizing. It was hard to choose, but we ultimately ended up getting the Crabcake, Catfish & Andouille Corn Maqcue Choux, Shrimp and Grits, and a Biscuit. HANDS DOWN one of the best meals we had the entire trip. All three of us were in food heaven. There was nothing left. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The staff was also friendly and very helpful. We'd also been eyeballing the dessert menu, and we settled on the bread pudding with the bourbon carmel sauce. DO NOT SKIP THIS DESSERT! It was phenomenal 🤤 Just know, Chapter IV is permanently on our revisit list for anytime we're in the city. The prices were reasonable as well.

Traveled from Washington, DC. The BEST grits I’ve ever had in my life. Ah-mazing. Flavor profile was savory and subtle. Creamy texture and perfect! Can’t wait to visit again.

I had the Louisiana blue crab and beet salad. It was “spot on”! I just mentioned that I don’t even like beats however, I clean the plate. There was only a faint trace of color to let me know that I had eaten every single bit!

We just finished a delicious meal at Chapter IV, restaurant (chef Doogy Chase jr.); it was one of very best meals I have ever had! Red Fish with crab/rice and red beans/rice. We really enjoyed everything !!! Chef has his own cooking show on Saturday mornings! Food created with Love and Care!

Stumbled up here while walking and our food was awesome by far the best meal we had while visiting NOLA, Red Fish, Crab Fried Rice, Squash and a bowl of Gumbo was on point!! Chuck

Nice vibe, good service. The grits and catfish were tasty, but the chef's choice too dump canned corn on top brought the whole dish down a couple of notches.

I'm a fan and so will you! Chapter IV is full of light, spacious, and airy. But less about the atmosphere and more about the food. I typically order Oyster Rockefeller to experience the chef's variations on a classic half shell appetizer. To my surprise and delight, there was no half shell, and the flavor was slightly different bolder, sweeter, and spicier than I've ever tasted before. The fish and grits should be renamed to combinations of life and grits. Look enough of type, book yourself a reservation and you'll thank me later!

Altogether, I think this is a pretty good place to dine in, but the food I had I was not very pleased with. I had the shrimp and grits and bbq shirmp Omelet. What made both dishes bad was the sauce used on each of them. I personally think that if they can develop a more tasteful sauce that both dish would be a hit. That's just my opinion 🤷

Love this place, fresh food, good food, good service and great ambience. The only problem I had was the time, it should open longer! 😊

t appears to be a beautiful area. not given the opportunity to sample the dish. I was confused by the front desk clerk. skipped my party and offered a vacant table to a customer who arrived without making a reservation. Not entirely happy. Until the manager rectified the situation and seated my party right after. Food is great service was better I highly recommend.
