I have never eaten here and I never will. I overheard some staff talking badly about a customer in their foreign language, fortunately a co worker of mine understood what they were saying. We left immediately.

I frequent this restaurant maybe once or twice every few months. I went for lunch yesterday walked in and proceeded to seat myself I’ve always done. As I was walking towards a sit, I was pushed out of the way by one of the waitress as. I yelled, “excuse me”. The waitress didn’t even acknowledge me nor look back.One of the customers she was trying to seat, looked at me and said, “wow, she really just pushed you out the way”. I was like yeah, they don't deserve my money. So I left. Horrible service. Will never eat there again.

Everything seems pretty normal for a restaurant

The food was all dry the rice was so bad my child was sick found hair in my food and nothing was good the only good was the ice cream

This place is great for the price. Food is awesome when you get there at a busy time. DO NOT show up after I would say 2:30 half the food is empty and they don't get filled unless you ask. The ladies here dont care about customer service, 😆 kinda grumpy, and mean looking and straight to the point attitude. They might seem rude but are not, I think they have just been doing it for so long. I have been coming here for about 18 years, and nothing has changed.

Went there for my son's Birthday. We had a lot of fun. Food was good love the crab ragoon. Been going there for 21 years.

I have going there for a very long time, my dad always went there as well. We ordered a carry out order which I've done many times before. Tonight's food was HORRIBLE!! MY WIFES CHICKEN LOW MEIN WAS THE GREASEST FOOD IVE EVER SEEN! PICTURE WILL BE INCLUDED. GREASE LITERALLY DRIPPING OUT OF THE BOX THEY PUT RICE IN. MY MONGOLIAN BEEF WAS TASTELESS AND COULD ONLY CHEW SOME OF THE PIECES THEN SPIT IT OUT. TOO TOUGH, PORK EGG ROLLS AMAZINGLY HAS ABSOLUTELY NO PORK, THEY WERE VEGETABLE. THE OLDER LADY THATS ALWAYS BEEN THERE EVERY TIME I HAVE WENT, WASNT THERE. MANE THEY HAVE NEW OWNERS. I FEEL BAD FOR THE LITTLE GIRL THAT WORKS THE REGISTER BECAUSE I ASSUME HER PARENTS JUST GAVE UP ON FOOD QUALITY!

Probably my new favorite Chinese buffet, it's got some great food at a good price. The only thing that didn't seem great is the service, the plate I was done were not taken away until five minutes before I left. I would say go at least once to try the food.

The food is good, but sometimes the trays are empty and take a while to fill them back in.

I really thought this place would of better, I guess first for everything. The food was stale and had a funny taste to it. The food in the buffet line was meanly empty. I do not recommend!

Was there for over an hour no fresh food ever came out, waitresses were all eating very un appropriate and very unprofessional. Place overall needs to be taken care of a little more.

Food was cold not a big variety most things were empty no flavor too the food had the air-conditioning blasting but they got McDonald's beat their ice-cream machine worked

food is very limited and you almost have to fight to get food and to get a refill is near impossible. the staff is very rude and i wouldn’t want to spend my money here again and to add the restaurant is unclean

Food was horrible they didn't keep food on the buffet a lot of it was dried out and old they told us to take a seat but no one ever came and brought silverware or got the drink order I will never be back again

EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK! I wouldn't risk it... I have been sick for days now because I ate here. I'm getting scared... they were rude but the bad food was enough.

I'm just surprised I used to go to this place from the 90s well into the 2010s. It was My favorite Chinese joint to go to. And the mighty has fallen. The seasame chicken doesn't even have seasame seeds on it anymore. Everything tastes like its been reheated. It's hard to even chew on the chicken. The crab Rangoon used to be amazing but it's a shell of its former self. Please please please bring the old china star back.

Self-service buffet style. It's better than anything we can get delivered. I recommend the peanut butter chicken if it's not already gone 😋

Decent buffet with good prices, 2 lunch meals with waters under 20 bucks.

Food was good, they were slow at making sure food was stocked and fresh. The service as far as getting drinks refilled and taking dirty plates was very disappointing. They would walk by and not even acknowledge the customer. I had to get up and find someone to be able to get refills and when we finally got it she poured the pitcher of water into my husband's glass she had it over his plate of food dripping water all over his food. But like I said food tasted good but service wasn't.

Please be careful while eating here. I developed food poisoning after eating here. While dinning, I saw a worker blowing their nose and then touching the food without washing their hands.

Fast easy buffet walk in get a plate start eating and they bring your the drink of choice. They bring the bill to you and cash you out. All the food was good. For 8.99 it's pretty cheap.

It's a cheap buffet - the food is alright, the owners are generally friendly but sometimes yell back and forth across the restaurant, at length, while diners are present. There are frequently families present with ill-behaved children. Not the restaurant's fault, but other inconsiderate diners definitely ruin the atmosphere. Screaming kids with lousy parents who completely ignore them are present around 50% of the time, to the extent that I usually get takeout rather than dining in.

The food was very mediocre but it wasn't the worst I've ever had. Some items were out on the buffet and they didn't seem to care to fill it and i was here at 1230pm. Won't be back.

Very disappointing. Server barely acknowledged customers. Most food on the buffet was room temperature. The chicken on a stick was way overcooked. The egg rolls were mushy inside (tho nicely crispy on the outside). The buffet tables weren't fully stocked by noon (they open at 11). You get what you pay for. Less than 10 bucks for all you can tolerate.

It's been so sad to watch this place go down hill over the last several years. It used to be my favorite place to go. They used to label the food and it used to be fresher. Last time I went here I bit into a piece of chicken and it chipped my tooth! I can't even imagine how old that piece of petrified chicken was ! Yuck! They never bring out food anymore, what kinda buffet are you? Really sad I hope they change for the best when I come back in 6 months to see if it's any good then.

Good food and a wide variety of foods.

Please don't waist your time or money. It is very inexpensive to eat there. The buffet was completely wiped out. We sat there for 30 minutes and they didn't put anything else out. She did take our drinks off the bill because she felt bad for no food on the buffet.

The only thing I can say bad is don't come right after lunch rush as there options were limited. There hot and sour soup was fantastic if not also a fresh batch, what food I could get was good.

Food was good when you could get it. Poor service, drinks were flat, broken back supports on the booths, and had to go up multiple times because they were so slow and would only refill one thing like every five minutes. Only giving three stars for the food only. Probably won’t be back.

Poor management. The place is not taken care of at all. It's very messy, some food trays were empty and looked like they hadn't been touched or cleaned for hours. I asked if they were going to bring food out anytime soon, and was told "What do you want we can cook for you". This is a buffet, food options are supposed to be available for the customer to chose from. Anyway... The second you walk inside you get the feeling this is a very cheap and uncared place, and when you look at the food area, it almost gives a disgusting feeling. I won't be coming here for a very long time, maybe a year or so to see if something has changed.

So sad. I’ve been a customer here for over 25 years. The last few years it’s gone downhill significantly. The last time I ate there, will be the final time I’ll go. The food was evidently cooked and reheated probably from the evening before as we went there at lunch time. The chicken was hard as a rock. Also, the two ladies were screaming at each other in their native language and you could feel the tension. The customers in the restaurant were apparently uncomfortable as we were all looking at each other as the women were having their fight. It used to be a good place. Now it’s unkept, dirty, food is obviously old and reheated, and the customer service was pathetic. You definitely don’t feel appreciated there.

The food is hit or miss. There was egg foo young with out the gravy, The egg roll was awful! The crab rangoons have lots of filling. The chicken on the stick was good. The entrees were not identified on the buffet so you had to guess what it was. The staff did not seem friendly. When we walked in the server just pointed to a table across the room. We had to find someone to refill our water and the person did not seem happy at all. When it was time to pay, the cashier was on the phone. We said 2 seniors and she charged us regular price. Since she was on the phone and ignoring us we just paid and left. We will not be going back there.

I go for the buffet take out. The food is ok, but the price is right

This was second time going to a buffet since lock down. This is not a very large buffet and the selection is very small. Went on a Friday and was surprised there wasn't any seafood such as shrimp or fried fish. But what they did have was very very good. The crab rangoon and wonton dumplings are probably the best from a buffet I've ever had. Other food was okay and the price was very reasonable.

Ordered at 11:05 in the morning. Not one person in the restaurant. Was told they had to finish there buffet items first. REALLY?? Received my lunch at 11:40. Giving it 2 stars because the food was good.

For a hole in the wall Chinese place, the food is great, and the prices are fantastic. Highly recommended! Try the crab Rangoon before dismissing them, they look different but taste fabulous.

If I could give negative stars I would!!!! Their "sweet and sour sauce" was orange, and tasted like watered down orange crush soda. Good luck figuring out what is what??? They suck at labeling their food. Their low main noodles had a fishy taste, the other white noodles also had a fishy taste. None of the food was hot. The teriyaki chicken on a stick was rock hard, dry, and look like it had been there since last week. I couldn't even eat a fourth of my 1 plate I got. The lady asked if there was something I wanted? I said, yes hot food. Everything is cold. So she again asked what I wanted? Said she would make what I wanted. I told her, hot food. So again she said you tell me, I cook. I came to a buffet, so I didn't have to choose a dish I wanted. I just wanted hot food. So she took $3 off of our bill. I didn't eat $3 worth of food, neither of us did. But I paid $15 for water, and a few bites of food. Do not go there!!! McDonald's is better than their food, and I don't really care for McDonald's!!!!

Two stars. For the food, and not the service because the service was pretty much non-existent. We asked for chopsticks not once, not twice, but three times and we were completely ignored. We had to go up to a lady who was refilling the food and ask her for some.

We used to come here b4 Covid and we always had a great food experiance. That has changed. The food was old from sitting out past lunch, the buffet pans were empty, nobody was on the floor so I had to wait on us. The food that was available had a bad taste, may have been spoiled. I was very disappointed and wont be going back.

Awful. The cream cheese in the crab ragoon isn't c ream cheese! Disgusting. The pork Egg Rolls were missing the pork. And the fried dumplings were far from fried. I didn't get any sweet and sour for the crab ragoon, no fish auce for the dumplings and I asked for extra hot muxtard for the egg rolls and received NONE! I ordered a shredded beef dish. That is absolutely not what I received. Bottom line...you spend $50 bucks on to go food for 2 people, I would expect it should be better than this. So disappointed.

Went for lunch, quite busy and we found out why, the food was delicious! Everything we tried was very very good! Bathroom was clean, quick service clearing dishes and replenishing drinks. We are from out of town, but if we lived in this area, we’d be frequent customers!

I went at 6:30 on a Friday night. You think the food should be hot , full ,and yummy. Your wrong the food was Luke warm ,everything was half full or less ( expect crawfish and shrimp ) ,and it wasn’t even that good. I would not recommended to anyone. Then it was 40 bucks for 3 adults and a child. I give this buffet a 1/10 rating

The crab rangoon was good, sweeter than I've ever had. You can decide if that is a good thing for your taste buds. We arrived at noon and the food was hot and mostly *tasted* awesome, however the fried chicken chunks in any of the sauces were *very* chewy. I was able to eat them, but I'm not sure all the chewing was worth it. My tweens really struggled with the texture, only eating 1 piece each before they called it quits. The service was good, the price was fine, but I'm not sure I will try this place again due the tough chicken. If this is not typical for the chicken or if they make a change to improve the texture, I would be happy to go back.

We really enjoy the food from China Star (crab rangoons are a favorite), and the portions are always very generous, but the packing of carryout/delivery orders could use some improvement. It isn't unusual to have something spill at least a little. This time, one of our main dishes spilled badly because the lid crushed a little, to the point that the bottom container was sitting in a puddle of sauce and we had trouble getting it out of the bag without making a mess. Maybe pack fewer items in one bag and use a second bag?

Hadn't eaten here in months & remembered it as being pretty good, but three of us stopped in on 6/15/22 & found the buffet pretty tasteless. Not planning to come back.

Horrible service lady at front counter very rude. food was terrible or not even refilled despite being there almost 30 minutes. what was there was burnt dry or cold and flavorless unless you consider burnt a flavor. Shrimp wasn't even de-veined 0/10 don't recommend don't go.

Not much of a selection and the flavors are not the best. Crab Rangoon was sweet with no savory flavor , the chicken dishes were fried hard and the fried rice was not good..Servers were nice but the food needs improvement.

Not a lot of options for food and not friendly staff when I walked in, not a good experience and also the place was so quiet no music was playing.

There were no crunchy noodles I like them in my soup. Didn't have signs for the food, what I got was good. The chicken wings were fried way too much. The crab Rangoon we're made into a pocket I liked it.

So we walked in at 3:22pm for a quick bite on April 14th and the server said we're not open. We open at 4:30. OPEN SIGN WAS LIT and 8 tables full of people sitting and eating with 4 people at the buffet getting food. NEVER AGAIN WILL YOU HAVE MY BUSINESS.

3 stars only! I enjoy this place because the price is fair and most the food is great. Only thing that i don't like is that they take forever to put out new food/refill the container's! they never have a full Buffett. If you pay to eat at a buffet they should provide a full Buffett.

Just went to China Star hours say 11am to 9pm. The sign also states open. When you walk in them aren't open until 430 and yet they still have food out on the buffet. Hopefully its fresh.

They have the best and biggest crab Rangoon ever! Prices are affordable.

Very fair priced for dinner. Now the bad, cleanliness around buffet table was nasty. When more food was brought out only used his hand to wipe down somewhat. The sweet and sour sauce looked like reddish water at best. Noone asked about refills for our soda. And when my wife went to sit down the chair broke on her, and they didn't seem to worried. Alot of the food was okay. The crab Rangoon was excellent, and was hot.

I love this place, and the crab Rangoon is to die for. Shrimp is delicious, everything is great here. Friendly staff, clean establishment and everything tasted perfect. Only problem was I always get too full too fast.

Not sure why some people complained about this restaurant, you were paying half of the cost other Chinese buffet restaurants charge in town, yet you are asking for a 5star service and taste, do you know the cost of supplies those days? If you want great food then eat at a high end restaurant, China Star is an average restaurant with average food and great price but all you can eat, so you don’t have to go home hungry, be happy or don’t dine there!

Love this buffet. Fair price and good food. Nothing fancy to expect here. Expect fair prices and good food. My family and I have been coming here for over 20 years and the quality has remained constant over the year.

This is a small place, however, the food is good and the price is superb. The food could be kept a little hotter but other than that it is a nice experience. My husband and I both enjoyed the food. We went shortly after they opened at 11am so they were still putting out the buffet food but by the time we finished our first plate the rest was out.

Small selection. Some of the foods were very lukewarm in the warning table. Empty tables had dishes on them.

The restaurant is clean but the building it's in is old and could use some repair. Food variety is limited but what they have good and hot. It's not a bad buffet but I would like a bit more food variety .
