Ordered two margaritas, and lets just say they weren't very good. The drink was incredibly watered down.

The spices were a little uninspired at the medium level and the injera was only ok.

First of all, this place needs to have a better sign out front and a way of letting patrons know they serve food. I walked in here while bar hopping a while ago, and I had zero idea this place served food at night, I thought it must have been a day time thing because it is technically a bar, and nothing noticeable inside that showed they serve one of the best Ethiopian food in San Francisco. Food, as I mentioned is great, service is good enough for a bar. It was quite empty when I walked in, maybe that's why the atmosphere didn't do it for me, but that's not going to stop me from going back there to get food again.

Ordered the beef stew which is described as cubed beef in berbere sauce and I'm 99% sure they served me ground beef. Tasted fine but when I asked if it was supposed to be cubed she said "we cut smaller because it's good for digestion" on top of that, it is a straight up dive bar and it feels wrong to be ordering dinner there. I think I'll try a few other Ethiopean places before I return here.

Food was good but prices are not as advertised online. We came in for drinks and decided to eat here bc the website said $9.50 for the all you can eat veggie platter. Turns out it’s now $18…..we were deceived

This is a gem. A dive bar that serves legit Ethiopian food? The owners are friendly and helpful. It's honestly off-putting how good this is, since they clearly just bought a neighborhood dive to make a business. I look forward to cementing this review in 30 years from now, when this place is an institution.

It's a dark, dingy bar, not the welcoming Ethiopia restaurant/lounge we were expecting. We didn't stay.

Called excited to finally order some Ethiopian food in SF. However, the woman on the phone was clearly not interested in a potential customer and told me she didn’t have time to answer my questions about the menu after less than 3 mins. Very disappointed as I was looking for a regular Ethiopian spot :(

One of my favorite neighborhood bars in SF — just very unassuming and non-pretentious — and with the best Ethiopian food in town. Good prices and all you can eat if you get the veggie platter, which is amazing. Family-owned by nice people.

Total vintage dive now owned by Ethiopians who decided to keep everything as-is except the food (have never eaten there). Great local vibe and Mama keeps everyone in check with the drinks flowing. Prices slightly high.

This is the oddest place. It's a cozy neighborhood pub and Ethiopian restaurant. How they put those things together, I don't know, but they pulled it off brilliantly. They have a good selection of beer, and a fully stocked bar. Pair that with good Ethiopian fare, both vegetarian and omnivorous, and you have a great evening out.

Don't be fooled by the seedy facade. This place has got character. Currently a bar/Ethiopian restaurant, Waziema used to be some kind of Motown/Soul nightclub decades ago, and it has the pictures hanging on the wall to prove it. Dining tables are scattered somewhat haphazardly throughout the bar area and into the back, which has a pool table on a stage. For a restaurant inside of a bar the food is surprisingly good, and it's served in the traditional no-utensils Ethiopian way. Make sure to try the Chicken special, and wash it down with an Anchor Steam. Also--it's one of the few restaurants in the neighborhood that has TV's, which makes it a great secret spot to watch a game when the bars are packed and you want some real food with your beer.

This place is pretty solid for Ethiopian food. You get a full bar, too. I really like the kintishara (sauteed mushrooms with a mushroom sauce), and love dipping injira, the "bread" they give you, in it. On Fridays it can be more like a bar than a restaurant, but don't let that stop you from ordering. The bar is a source of lively conversation.

A friendly place for a quick and yummy bite to eat alongside with a wide range of drinks. The meat or veggie platters have a distinctly authentic taste and one can get refills on the veggies!! The food does not come with a fork by default, so either adapt and use your hands or request one!
