I quite literally was fighting for my life after a night on Bourbon Street and these people took care of me. I highly recommend the grits, and the servers Dylan and Jesse. Management was also very kind. 5/5

Meatolicious! I love this place and their philosophy. Make it fresh, from local ingredients, and serve great beer and drinks. Can't go wrong. The porchetta cheesesteak in a folded focaccia is fantastic. Toasty focaccia, thinly sliced porchetta with cheese, peppers, and onions. Get 2. One is enough, but if you don't feel miserably full, did you really have enough? If you got one, I hope it's because you're headed next door to Cochon Restaurant for dinner and needed a warm-up snack.

I was pleased to be able visit again. I git my favorite, the Cubano. Going back again before I leave.

We checked this place out because it happened to be near our hotel, and it was so great that we went again on our last night. The food was delicious - highly recommend the red beans and rice on the Monday special - and the service is friendly and fast. The decor is quirky and fun too.

Cochon Butcher was a phenomenal place to stop for food. My family ordered a few sandwiches to share and realized we were going to have to order more from how good it was. Each sandwich was amazing. The meat quality is very high and there was so much flavor. The pork belly sandwich was delicious and juicy. I am marking this place for the future, 100% will be back.

I recently discovered an amazing restaurant in New Orleans during my last night in the city. The food, drinks, and service were all exceptional. I had a great time chatting with a chef colleague at the bar, and we were both impressed by the flavorful dishes, well-designed plates, and perfect portion sizes. The food tasted fresh and the overall experience was fantastic. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting New Orleans for some fantastic creole-style southern food. It's a hidden gem that's chef-approved!

The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was amazing, we had the best time!

Cashier who helped this order was great and helped us pick out something original to try. Server seemed MIA and the place was empty. I think it was a manager who helped us more.

I had the La pig Mac, it was easily top 5 restaurant sandwiches of my life. Cannot recommend it enough. The Mac and cheese was also an amazing southern style Mac and cheese. My wife had a smoked turkey sandwich, amazing for a turkey sandwich! Just top notch food here

Had an early dinner here, great food and great ambiance! The Cubano sandwich I had was super good! Very attentive servers, always filling up your glass of water or asking if you'd like another drink.

This was the most incredible meal. I had the woodfired grilled fish with the Mac and cheese. Truly exceptional!! The pineapple upside down cake was the perfect end. I would eat here every night if I lived in Nola. Just perfection.

Wow. The Cuban is hands down the best sandwich I have ever had. Absolutely phenomenal. It was so good I bought a T-shirt so that every time I put it on I would remember it.

It's difficult to walk past Cochon Butcher and not turn your head. The smell of good seasoning and comfort floats in the air. It is located literally on walking distance outside of the convention center in New Orleans. Service was quick, and the food was amazing. The manager took the time to explain the choices in the menu, favorites, etc. It was super busy due to the Essence Festival. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and has a bar as well. The atmosphere was fun and music was playing. I ordered the Cuban sandwich, which comes with bread and butter pickles, a key lime pie, and an Arnold Palmer to drink. Others in the party ordered fried ribs and a meat sandwich, which were also delicious. Overall, 5 stars, we will be back.

Yo, this place is food fun! You gotta come here and experience the local vibes. And when you do, make sure to order a bunch of stuff to share - it's a great way to try a little bit of everything.

I truly enjoyed the boudin! It was great. My friend ordered something he didn't like. They let him get something else! This is an example of great service! They care about their customers here. And this place smells great! I recommend giving this place a try. Two thumbs up from me!

I'd hate to leave a negative review but to be honest based on my experience here I have to speak up. you would expect a place with such high ratings to have a phenomenal flavor. Especially after spending almost 70, dollars. But there was almost NO FLAVOR on any of my wife's food. I tried her catfish plate and there was no salt at all, and then her hush puppies were bad. And my chips were even extremely bland as well(we ended up throwing away most of her fish and the other bag of chips). The saving grace was my sandwich which was really good. But everything else we tried was salt-less and poorly seasoned very unfortunate. Let me emphasize that my sandwich being so good made me determine that maybe this place is best saved for sandwiches being that it's a butcher.

Absolutely Fabulous. Time and time again this place delivers delicious food at the highest quality My friend had the BBQ pork Sandwich and lemonade. I had the Cubano, potato salad and unsweetened Iced tea. The Cubano was absolutely perfect. The right proportions of meats to the vegetables to the bread which is all perfectly pressed. Potato salad I wish I could have eaten all of it but I was saving room for chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was basically frosted with fudge and was very chocolatey. We both split what was probably the finest chocolate cake I have ever eaten in my entire life. Definitely a a 5D (a definitive chocolate cake). The restaurant itself is casual. Tables of 2 people to 8 people in a kind of an open kitchen area. You enter into the butcher shop which is kind of like you're ordering at a deli counter/diner. It is pricey, but it's pricey because it's worth it. p. s. Fried Chicken Blue Plate Special $20. NAILED IT. 5D: a definitive fried chicken experience.

Super attentive and kind staff. Great vibe. All the food was really good. The cocktail was delicious as well though came in a small glass with mostly ice. In fact, much of everything seems way overpriced for the amount you get. It’s my only complaint, but an important consideration for many folks!

We went here on a Saturday night without a reservation at the recommendation of a friend since we were just in New Orleans for one night with our kids. We were sat right away and had amazing service with 2 waitstaff and they made great recommendations and we loved all our food! Here is a review of what we got: the alligator was fried in a batter and covered with a sauce that was flavorful without being spicy. the gumbo was hot and fresh with tender meat and rice, the rabbit and dumplings was almost like a pot pie without the crust and very good and filling, the short ribs left something to be desired as they were very peppery and a bit tough and advertised with shrimp and green beans but that was more of a garnish than anything of substance (it is an appetizer so we didn’t expect full portions but it was just a few tiny pieces). Had a drink from the bar that I don’t remember the name of but it was the waiter’s recommendation and very good! Definitely recommend and would go again next time we are in NOLA

I first visited years ago and thought about my meal so often that when I returned to NOLA for less than a week, I visited The Butcher twice. The service is fantastic, the kitchen will not have a single aspect incorrect or lacking in your dish, and the bartenders make some of the best drinks in the city all while having the most impeccable playlist. If you want a low key place to eat while in NOLA with good atmosphere, this is where you want to be. The fried ribs are a MUST HAVE.

Had the muffeleta and it was amazing! Food came out quickly and the people were very helpful and friendly.

My go to! Besides the incredible pork dishes, incredible house made charcuterie, and customized signature sandwich offerings, Cochon Butcher always has intriguing seasonable specials like Turkey & Collard green Gumbo, Chili with cornbread madelines, and the best fried shrimp in New Orleans. Outdoor dining is available, and they always have great music!

I've been here only a handful of times, but zero complaints. Today was a Muffuletta and Kölsch at the bar. Quick, clean, and quality ingredients. Excellent experiences like this always start at the top. Would love to have options of smaller portions at smaller prices, but understand they are just trying to ring the register.

I can't recommend this restaurant and staff enough if you're looking for a place to gather by the conference center. We had a last minute cancellation at our venue the day before and needed somewhere to go for a happy hour-type event. The management was extremely accommodating and helped us by reserving tables. Despite throwing a large volume at them, the service was speedy and top-notch. Everyone had a great time!

My first and for now only Muffaletta so I don't have anything to compare it to. Still, I don't think it could get any better than this. We followed the recommendation of a friend. Based on that knowledge we did a significant detour to get there and it was totally worth it. The bread seemed cooked to perfection. The filling of meat & cheese was generous and very tasty. The sprouts we had as a side were an extremely pleasant surprise. We loved the casual nature of the place and the fact that it was extremely clean. PS: we initially picked the wrong place on the map and went to CoChon restaurant, which is only a couple of doors away. We didn't try it but the food looked equally amazing.

During 4 days, had lunch here TWICE! It’s worth standing in line, sitting in the heat outside, whatever you have to do! The Cubans sandwich is off the chain delicious - don’t leave NOLA without it!

WARNING: NOT THE SAME AS COCHON RESTAURANT. As a tip to the owner of this establishment: please get separate phone lines if you're going to own multiple restaurants, especially with the same name. We called the number listed for Cochon Butcher to ask if we needed a reservation. They said yes, so we made one. We waited for our time slot, and headed over. We were seated, ordered some water, and were surprised to see a completely different menu than what we'd viewed online. That's when a server explained that the two restaurants share a name, but are very different. We left Cochon Restaurant, and headed over to Cochon Butcher. While we were a little annoyed about the mixup, we were grateful that the Restaurant staff were extremely understanding and didn't charge us for the bottled water we'd already received. The Butcher was immediately a much better experience. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was lively, and the food was fantastic. I've never had such great red meat in my life! The burger was extremely juicy, and the toppings were crisp and fresh. The real standout performance was from the staff. We went on 5/29/2024, and the crew on duty was phenomenal. The service we received was CRAZY fast and super nice. We ordered food at the counter, and a server was bringing out our drinks by the time we walked 10 feet to a table. Our food came out in record time. I guess due to their counter-ordering process, there aren't dedicated waiters... Which meant every waiter was assisting our table. At one point, a server was delivering a beer, another refilling a glass of water, and a third placing down our food - all at the same time. We walked in at around 6:30, and ordered at approximately 6:38. By 6:50, all of us had received our food. While the name confusion mixup was almost enough for me to dock the rating by a star, the service and food was too exceptional for me to give this anything less than an emphatic 5-star review. The staff at the Restaurant handled it extremely well, and did say that this happens often. The fact that this happens with some frequency should necessitate a change! Highly, highly recommend this place for anyone in the area!

This restaurant has been by far the best place I have ever been to. It is an absolute must dine in for the freshes meal. Pictured is the Smoked Turkey sandwhich and marinated brussel sprouts. The sandwhuch was layers of mouth watering flavor with each bite being more delicious than the last. Lets not forget about the brussel sprouts. If you dont like sprouts, then I recommend you try these. They are a game changer.

We came to visit for a lunch break from the WWII museum. Currently, my infant has a milk protein intolerance which limits my diet. EVERYONE here was so kind and accommodating. They helped me choose menu items that both sounded delicious to me and wouldn’t upset my daughter. I cannot say enough how great every single staff we encountered was. The service was wonderful. Glasses were never empty and finished plates were taken almost instantly. The food - you know it’s delicious. It always is. Today was such a good experience from amazing sandwiches and sides to delicious beer. I look forward to coming back.

Wow!!! Who knew I needed to come to NOLA for delicious, fresh, perfectly cooked pulled pork and salmon belly. I ate here two days in a row!!!

Chavez at the counter was super friendly and helpful when it came to deciding what to order. We had the Monday blue plate special (fried pork chops with red beans and rice), Le Pig Mac, and potato salad. All of the food was phenomenally good, and the service was top notch. Food was delivered hot, plates were cleared quickly, drinks were refilled before they even got halfway empty. I also tried the Hogwash cocktail, was was really smooth and mellow, but didn't taste of bacon at all. Portions were great, could easily have shared a main course with some sides. Would definitely come back on my next trip.

Stopped in for lunch during break from conference. Sat at the bar and was provided great service! Had to try the Muffaletta and it was amazing! First time I have had a warm Muffaletta and very impressed. Also had the Hogwash, a bacon fat washed old fashioned with molasses and cardamom, really good! Highly recommend stopping in if you are nearby...

Low-key joint for café style eats. Limited menu (which is a good thing) serving pork dishes and charcuterie. Beer on tap, mixed drinks, and merch for your swine swag. I had the Pig Mac, a take on the Big Mac classic. It was awesome.

Let's start with the amazing staff, who attentively tends to you immediately, and follows up to ensure that you're having a great experience. On top of that add the best music, great great food, and a lighthearted mix of nerdy humor, and you've got Cachon!

Came across Cochon during a long walk. Glad we did. Ate at the bar due to the restaurant being packed. Wood fired oysters were very good. (Sorry I don’t have a pic). Oyster & Bacon sandwich is very big. Too much to eat. Service was great all over. Receptionist was very helpful and bartenders were very attentive but not over the top.

Wow. Took an Uber here straight from the airport. When I arrived I was excited to see such a diverse and tasty looking menu. Decided on the Gambino (and Cochon Chips) which exceeded my expectations. First I was blown away by the sandwich only to be outdone by the house made pickles which I added to my sandwich. At the end I decided to give the house made hot sauce a try and somehow the hot sauce stole the show. The rosemary ingredient was so unique and truly gave the hot sauce an incredible flavor. The service was also spectacular as I regularly had someone reviewing my table to refill my water and ask if I needed anything else. The sidewalk seating was my table of choice which provided an enjoyable atmosphere. @CochonButcher if you sell these and ship them I would love to buy some for meals at my own home.

I came to New Orleans last December in order to take in a Saints game and to spend a few days to enjoy the city all done up for Christmas. Such a beautiful city around this time of year. Great weather, too. Anyway, I looked at the data from a few different websites, and chose from the consensus best restaurants to wine and dine while I was visiting this delicious city. Well the Cochon Butcher was one of those places. Everyone that comes here seems to love it, so I was hoping I would, too. We walk over after the game, grab some seats, and stare at the menu for a bit. It was very difficult to make choices, because everything sounded absolutely bangin'. Luckily, the counter workers were able to suss out what we would like, and helped us come to our perfect order. So I opened up with a pick-two Sausage Plate. I naturally selected the Andouille, and I can't remember what the other one was, but I do remember that the quality of making everything in house really showed. Even in the B+B Pickles! So good. Another app we got was the Duck Pastrami Sliders (w/gruyere cheese). This was amazing. I loved the rustic simplicity of a sandwich on square bread, cut into quarters, and called sliders. I'm not sure why, but that is right up my alley. Amazing duck pastrami, way better than regular pastrami, duh, and and ample amount of one of the better melting cheeses. So good. My main was the Le Pig Mac (2 all pork patties, special sauce, lettuce, American cheese, pickle, + onion on a sesame bun). Do I even have to say it? The juicy pork patties were cooked to peak perfection, packed with flavor. The simple, fresh veggies were perfect. And the toasted bun did a Great job of holding it all together. Just wow. Personally, though, I would request a little extra of that special sauce, pro-tip. Overall, this place was spectacular. I was worried about my ability to find great places to eat in the sea of great places is one of the best food cities in the world, but man, I really found a gem here. I cannot wait to come back the next time I'm in town!

The service and the food here are amazing. The lady at the counter was super friendly and helpful. The only thing I'll point out is that there is a dumpster probably 5 or 6 feet from the entrance which you have to go through depending on what way you enter from.

Love the food & the vibe! Someone's a Star Wars fan. 😂 We took the Charles St. trolley to the Howard Ave stop (close to the WWII museum) & walked there. Limited parking as far as I could tell. You order at the counter, which is right next to cold cases full of various sausages, steaks, Cajun dogs & other meats. The food is brought to your table. We got a couple of cold draft beers, and shared a stuffed pretzel & a muffaletta. The pretzel wasn't really stuffed, but topped with ham & gruyere cheese. It was served with a wholegrain mustard... very tasty. The muffaletta could have had more olive relish on it. The meats were so good that we could forgive the relish part, but it would be nice to have more. Excellent muffaletta bread! The whole sandwich was about the size of ½ a "Central Grocery" muffaletta, if you're familiar with those...perfect sharing size for us. We saw some very nice looking charcuterie boards being delivered to other customers. Cochon Butcher is definitely worth a trolley ride & a walk!

Simply fantastic pork .. as they’re famous for. But equally excellent hospitality, and great atmosphere in a busy (but not too busy!) establishment. Can’t wait to come back.
