LOVE LOVE LOVE. I was down from VA to visit family and ate here 3 times. And not just because it's the only place to eat breakfast and lunch in a sea of Chinese takeouts and pizza joints. We will definately be back! UPDATE: We're still coming back after 2 years and it's just as awesome now as ever!

Okay food, decently priced and friendly staff.

This is a nice little eatery. Service is always nice, and the food is always prompt and warm. But the food quality is meh and the price is high for it too. My favorite is biscuits and gravy, but Rooster cafes gravy is always so werid tasting. They have a decent sweets case, but thats always hit or miss on satisfaction. It would be cool if yall worked a deal with the Buttercup Bakery in Deland.

Started my day with Breakfast-Bloody Mary’s and live music on a Sunday morning! Service was outstanding food on point! Bonus live music! 🎶

It was my birthday lunch. Everything was perfect. Even bought a Cocky Rooster shirt.i had the steak gyro salad

I think this place is great for lunch. I got a Philly cheese sandwich. It was tasty, but I felt like it was kinda small. Great fries service was polite and friendly. I would rate it higher if it wasn't for the location. Personally, I'm not a fan. There are always a lot of people smoking right outside of the bar next door, and the parking lot is terrible. There are lots of pot holes to hurt your vehicle.

Owner gets his food from save a lot next store. The food is way over priced especially for the portions. It doesn’t even taste good. The gravy is so sour my husband won’t even eat it. I’m not sure why this place is as pumped up as people make it to be. Go 5 minutes down the road to Osteen diner you’ll pay 30-40% less get your food 5x quicker and double the portion.

The Chef Joe is amazing. It so happens that he's a Marine Veteran 🙏🇺🇲 I live in Ohio and have many friends in Florida, and I turn them on to The Cocky Rooster. It's constantly busy with happy guests. Great food, atmosphere, and service from the entire team. I fly in almost monthly for a week at a time, and I always go there a few times.

Nice place, but it was a Sunday. So kinda quiet. The prices and... THE FOOD was really good.

My family and I love the Cocky Rooster Cafe, every time we go service is excellent the food is exceptional and the vibes are always right. The chicken and the egg is easy my favorite dish and my son loves the chicken and waffles. We truly love them!

I used to love their pastrami sandwich until today. It was extremely dry and overcooked. Bread was dry and hard.

The food was not bad if you’re looking for a quick lunch. The portion was good. I would come back for their steak and eggs

Unsure how you make biscuits and gravy uneatable, but they can do it, won't be going back there until they get a different cook

Good place to eat. Update. Just went again July 2024. Service is great. But I had ordered yogurt with fruit and granola. Ordered chicken fried steak and grits. Was disappointed with the fruit as it was not ripe at all. And looks like it was thrown together by a very inexperienced person. The grits were not cooked enough and were hard still. Love this place but needs some quality control on the food. Have a nice day. Wife loved the omelet.

Nice little spot. The food and desserts are delicious 😋 the coffee is good too. Some places have terrible coffee lol now they own the bar next door and opened up the restaurant to the bar.. nice 👌🏾

I loved the Cocky Rooster restaurant and always raved about it. However, there's a waitress there with the worst service I've ever encountered. She not only treated me like garbage in front of my wife (who was understandably upset, for no reason), but she's also done this to several other people. My family and I stopped going because of her, but we decided to give it another chance. Unfortunately, she was there again, treating us and other customers terribly. I even tipped her well, but this time I couldn't. I'm really disappointed, Cocky Rooster. This is how businesses lose customers. I won't be recommending this place anymore. I'll stick to my other spot that might not have the best food, but the service is outstanding. I'm not impressed with the Cocky Rooster restaurant.

Very regrettable the loss of the GREAT CHEF😔RIP will never be forgotten and much less will I forget the exquisiteness of his meals 🙌

This is truly a hidden gem. I have been to the Cocky Rooster Cafe for several years now. Never have I ever left there disappointed with the food, service or the cleanliness. If you haven’t been, I strongly suggest that you give it a try. You will become a regular for sure.

RiP Chef Perry. You and your team catered my wedding last year. Huge loss for your family and the community. Condolences to all.

It was all right it could have been better The home fries were burnt The omelette had no salt in it or nothing it was very blend and we waited 35 minutes at the table no excuse two way too long I was about to cancel the order and leave 👌💯💯💯😧😧😧🙏🙏🙏🙏

Great food, friendly staff, quick service, nice comfortable atmosphere, top notch bakery, gourmet-level specials every day. You could not ask for a better restaurant. I love this place and eat here as often as possible. My family and I love it! Bring all my out of town guests here as well for breakfast.

Went into the cocky rooster yesterday morning and was greeted with a smile and kindness, the service was fast and helpful, also the empanadas are to die for 10/10 would highly recommend anyone to try this awesome small business

First time there, and it was delicious. It was one of the best breakfasts my husband and I have had. We will back and the staff were very attentive always checking on us.

06/21 The food was AMAZING! I had the country fried steak with 2 eggs, grits, rye toast and a biscuit and I was in heaven. It was super delicious! I found my little piece of heaven! My wife had the Pastelon Omelette and she was super impressed. She ate it all! 😊 06/22 Update: I took 3 of my friends to this little piece of heaven and they all loved it. Two of them had the Spicey Cuban Sandwich and my other friend and I had the Country Fried Steak with 2 eggs, grits, rye toast and a biscuit and we went to heaven, met the angels and Hi-5’d Gabriel and then came back. Even Olivia (Our Amazing Waitress) said, “Oh my, you guys are silent!” That’s how good the food is. So, don’t go by the negative comments, but the positive ones, because we are true foodies and we know what good food taste like. You won’t go wrong if you come to this place. This is where Puerto Rico and China met and they created a whole different kind of flavor. Yummy!

Coconut shrimp and blackened mahi stuffed with crab meat were excellent.

Upon ordering a French dip type of sandwich for lunch, I was asked if I prefer a roll, biscuit, or toast to go with my sandwich. This was in ADDITION to the bread with which my sandwich was to have been made. This is also in addition to the fries that came with the sandwich. So, three starches??? I inquired about getting a side salad only to be told that none are available during lunch time. Really? Three starches yes, but a healthy bowl of salad? Apparently not. Inquiring about whether the coleslaw was vinegar or mayonnaise based, the waitress told me that she doesn’t know about the coleslaw because she doesn’t eat coleslaw. So much for the help being knowledgeable about the food she serves. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that he was too busy. I waited another nearly ten minutes to speak to the apparently very busy manager, if a/he was even told about my request, before finally leaving this very dubious establishment. I plan to neither ever recommend nor return to the “Cocky Rooster”; this potential patron has flown the coop.

Had to give 1 star because this place advertises all day breakfast and yet if you arrive anytime after 12pm they have either run out of or are unwilling to make the majority of their breakfast items. Should be zero stars. How can I rate the food if I cant even order it? Why have 75 items on your menu if you can only make 12 of them? This has happened to me on 3 different occasions now. Won’t be back.

Friendly server who knew the menu well and gave good advice. I had blueberry pancakes which were the fluffiest I’ve ever had and was super delish. Good sweet tea!

Request one lunch & one breakfast. Both were cold and lunch wasn't even the right order. Was told chic wraps are cold food. She didn't address cold eggs & gravy. They could have cared less.

Love this place so much. The staff is so nice and the food is insanely good. Get the California omelette, you don't regret it.

Sooo happy to come back, I live out of the area. Same owners Perry and Lynette are so inviting and friendly. Staff too! Restaurant is CLEAN , service great and years later they are still serving my favorite breakfast- sweet potato hash with eggs! MUST STOP IN it will be your new favorite!!

Joined in with my BF & father in law. The burgers have no seasoning added it’s just a patty. States it is served on sour dough, arrived to the table and it is white bread with some burnt cheese flakes on it. Asked for mayo and was charged for our side of Mayo that is anywhere else considered a normal topping on a burger. Mayo is also a normal condiment found on any restaurant table. Had to ask for refills. The food took 25 min to arrive. The house flys are everywhere. All over us, drinks, and flying around while we are trying to eat. Big sanitary issue right here! Runner of food for the waitress does not like to be asked for sides or the condiments that were already asked for prior to obtaining food. I also watched from our table to the kitchen and found one of the waitresses in the food lines sneezing into her arm with no mask 1 foot away from food to her right.

Idecided to stop in and check it out, while in town visiting my sister. The fried Pork belly tacos were superb!!! Great service, strong drinks. Highly recommend to anyone that's never been Here.

This use to be my number one place to go to when my husband and I first .over to Deltona.as time went on and visiting the restaurant I noticed it would be flies in the place so one day I was checking this site about what restaurants in the area had food violations and sure enough they was on the list.so I stopped going there I figured it had to be something because of the flies, shouldn't have flies, in your restaurant all the time so I haven't been back in awhile don't wanna get sick from contaminated food so yes it broke my heart to see that.the desserts weren't bad. I ordered the meatloaf dinner one day I was shocked it looked horrible and tasted horrible won't get that no more. The place has potential if they just take the time to invest in the food and quality of it.

2 words. Pastelon Omelet. Omg! This was so good!! We had to return and bring other family members to try and they loved it too!! Atmosphere was nice, service was good! U must try it!!

First time trying here as my mother lives in the area and I was visiting. Service was slow but the place was pretty busy and there was only one waitress working the entire place with an occasional waitress coming over from the bar area. The waitress who serviced us (Apryl) was awesome. She was clearly overworked but was patient and kind. I have absolutely zero complaints about her. My complaint is with the management for not having a second worker assist. Otherwise, the food was good, the carrot cake very dry and not sweet in any way, but it was late in the day so it would have probably been better fresh. I would still come back here, but I hope they get this poor girl some help soon.

Been going there for more than 20 yrs. The quality of their food and service is if anything consistent. My family loves this place 💕

Great service and food, very friendly.Today I tried the Chicken Cordon Bleu. It came with stuffing. Mashed potatoes and gravy, and stea.ed summer veggie mix on the side. I ate half, saving the rest for to.irtow. My friend had a Moyntain of eggplant parm and loved it. We had a nice dessert. They have such a large dessert case, and another case filled with a variety of cookies. Prices are reasonable and the wait staff was very attentive. This is one of my top five restaurants in the county.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade and they routinely serve good diner food! The eggs benedict I had today wasn’t my favorite. The hollandaise was a bit bland, I think the eggs were fried instead of poached, and I’m pretty sure the Canadian bacon is just thin sliced deli ham. Giving 4 stars for years of tasty provolone omelets and friendly service.

One of m favorite local breakfast spots! The only negative thing I would say is during my visit one particular server was incredibly upset and repeating a negative experience she had with a phone call telemarketer person and she was using very colorful language with several f-bombs and s-bombs and such which was disturbing and loud enough that everyone in the dining room could hear and knew the entire story. Get the home fries you will thank me!

Worst experience ever and will never set foot in the doors again. We came in when it was relatively quiet at 8 am Saturday March 16th. We ordered out food and sat for 30 minutes waiting on our food. I looked over in the sea of at least 10 front-end staff members standing behind the counter and threw my hands up in tbe air. She came over and said it would be a few more minutes. My daughter ordered blueberry pancakes that were over cooked and they hid the first two they burned on tbe bottom. They were hard as hell to cut. The leg horn meals for the remaining 3 people at the table were cold.

Cozy and very personable. Menu has a wide variety of options and I enjoyed the specialty menu. It would take years to try everything but you won’t leave disappointed!

Food is 2 out of 5 to 3 out of 5. The chicken and waffles should be removed from the menu. The breading/seasoning is not in harmony with the waffles n syrup. It is too dry. Not well executed. Should be juicy sweet n salty chicken. Not greasy bland dry chicken. I went here for a special breakfast with my wife. I had been waiting years to try this place and had reasonably high expectations but am severely disappointed. IHOP is better or just as good as what I had here. Heck I make a great breakfast too, it's easy for me. I expected they'd make better breakfast than me or chain restaurants but they don't. Not with what I ordered anyway. By the way, my wife was asked what toast she wanted and chose sourdough but was given slices of white bread instead...my experience was not worth the money.

This place is my absolute go to when it comes to breakfast food. Food and service are always 10/10 I highly recommend.

I TRIED to dine there today with my family of 5. The restaurant was moderately busy but they were NOT understaffed. Our order never came out. After inquiring, the waitress response was “it hasn’t been that long” when in all sincerity, it was over 36 minutes. I know this to be a fact because their free Spectrum wifi is only good for 30minutes. Extremely RUDE and I hate to believe that racism still exists in 2024, but it’s true- it exists here at this Restaurant. If you aren’t white, think twice before going. You will NOT be treated equally.

Ordered fish tacos was very disappointed asked for a different meal the manager said no my husband and I eat out all the time and have never experienced this before then the owner comes to us and says the most we can do is a 30% discount but she was very short with us. Their loss will never be back

Visited 1-29-24. Service was good as always. Very clean as always. This was my first visit for about 6 months. I had biscuits and gravy. Food quality has slipped thus my 3 star rating. I've been eating here for years and there is definitely a drop in food quality. I'll go back as this might have been an off day. But if it hasn't improved I'll know this is the standard.

Prices are good portions for those who are good eaters. The portions for those eating a bit less are not as great because you can't finish and pay the same price. We hope they offer small portions and pick what you eat.

I had the cheeseburger with coleslaw which I was craving. Hit the spot! Friends said the home made biscuits with their breakfast were yummy too!

Stumbled upon this little gem. The food (so many great choices). Staff were super nice and attentive and the food was great! There are two TV’s. One with the game and one with the news. Music playing in the background was nice and we really enjoyed our stay. We could make this place a regular!

This place used to be amazing. It's fine now, but overpriced and not nearly as tasty. I've been a few times now since things have changed and I must say, I'd rather go to Denny's if I'm being honest. The staff is still good and attentive, but the faces have changed mostly and the vibe is different than it used to be. The only thing that stays the same is everything changes.

Coffee , orange juice , and ice tea was super watered down. Food did not taste fresh.

Nothing really great Way over priced breakfast

After living in the area for a little over a year, my wife and I tried the Cafe for the first time last week Dec. 5th. Maybe because the sign is part of a group of other little signs, we have overlooked this Cafe. We love the interior design and our waitress was very pleasant. I ordered some pumpkin pancakes and my wife had some kind of pastelon omelette made witg sweet plantains. Amazing! This Cafe is not your average franchise $7.99 breakfast deal menu, the Cocky Rooster's breakfast menu is worth the $10 plus breakfast menu, you trully get what you pay for! You can see the talent and passion the owner puts into his dishes. In the future I would like that the breakfast come out warmer but it didn't stop us to enjoy the visually inspired culinary dishes, next time we will come in for lunch. I like that the menu dishes have a caribbean twist to them. Glad to know this cafe is in our neighborhood! We also took a beautiful piece of cheesecake to go from their little bakery section.

We loved our whole Cocky Rooster experience! Hubby had the corn beef hash with eggs & bacon. I had the French toast combo. Both were delicious!! Our server was great and on top of everything. She was personable and very friendly!

Great food and service every time I go there

First and last time eating here. We were seated shortly after coming in, and coffee came out quickly. However, we waited almost an hour for our food. We did notice another table who came in 20 min after us getting their food first, but didn’t mention anything. The waitress noticed and apologized and said that the orders were switched up. She came back around for a coffee refill and then told us they threw out our ticket and she had to make a new one. When the food arrived, one of the plates had 2 small strips of overcooked bacon, over cooked fried eggs with shells, and the pancakes were burnt. We looked around and noticed that the other tables had golden brown pancakes. The waitress noticed the pancakes were untouched but didn’t mention anything. The only good thing is she comped half of the bill due to the wait. The waitress was nice but bad experience with wait and the food.

Our server was wonderful and the food was delicious. Free pool on Sundays. The music entertainment is a little loud for the room but he's very good at his job. They make a perfect bloody mary.

Best cafe I’ve been to in a while, everything ordered was so on point. The chicken empanadas and the crab cakes Benedict are particularly unreal. If you’re looking for well-made comfort food look no further, it’s delicious.

We tried this place for breakfast and will never go back. Service was very good and was kid-friendly. Unfortunately we didn't like the food at all. Food was a let down. Extremely overpriced for "meh" food.

I was so excited to finally be able to eat here.. but as soon as I tried my meal that excitement bubble burst. I ordered Chicken and waffle. The presentation was great but as soon as I tried the first bite of the breaded chicken, it was clear the chicken was not freshly fried.. but microwaved. The server was sweet but forgot our drinks and then charged us for it. We purchased some pastries on the way out. I will come back another time and give them another chance. Next time I will come earlier and not close to closing time.

We came to dine in for breakfast a couple of days before Halloween. The bustle was all about setting up for the Halloween event that was forthcoming, but the service DID NOT SLACK!! I forgot to take a picture of the event board, but they have NFL night, karaoke night, and a host of other activities throughout the week. The first dining area was filled, so we dined in the bar area. Our poor hostess was dealing with allergies and laryngitis, but she was still very friendly and showed a great willingness to serve. The wait time was short, and the food was to perfection!! While we were there, we noticed the owner was present. One of the hostesses was able to get his attention so we could tell him how pleased we were with the food and service. Thank you Cocky Rooster 🐓 We will be back again and again!

Fantastic food and fantastic service

Food was ok. Mahi sandwich lacked flavor. Server was nice until we told her our order was wrong. She argued with us over what we had told her.

Everything here is outstanding! Food , service, people....Chef Li puts his heart and soul into his tasty creations. Stop in and see for yourself, u wont be disappointed 🙂

I ordered takeout and when I went to pick it up the receptionist was rude. She said the restaurant did not accept takeout orders and when I explained it was already ordered I was over-talked. When she finally listened and realized the order was already called in, she said in a condescending way that they only took cash. I took out my cash paid and left. I got home and opened my “chicken” and waffles. It was one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten. The chicken looked like a disk and was as tough as a frisbee. The waffles were burned and the toasted pecans were soft. I’ll never eat there again. $27 dollars for that. It went into the trash. I wouldn’t feed that to a dog.
