Great place with friendly staff. Place is spacious. Yummy beignets!

When I arrived I felt uncomfortable- felt as if I was entering into a Greek restaurant- staff ignored me but I grabbed a cup of Coffee and yes … and to…. These delicious sweets :-) Beignets… was SOOOO GOOD

So much better than Cafe du Monde. These beignets are a must have every time I’m in Baton Rouge. The staff are always so friendly and I love the atmosphere. My husband loves the smoked sausage biscuit. Says they remind him of his childhood.

The beignets, coffee, cafe Au Lait, and hot chocolate are excellent. You can choose beignet fingers or the traditional square. Both are delicious. Fingers are a little easier to eat. The tables always have a container of powdered sugar to add more powdered sugar if desired. Better than that famous place in NOLA! Service is fast and the staff is nice. They have other foods for lunch as well but I haven’t had the opportunity to try any of them. Picky Eater Rating: 10 out of 10, two times! Beignets and powdered sugar, what’s not to love! Bring a child on their birthday. They make a beignet in the shape of their age. They have frozen take out food to enjoy at home. They roast their coffee in house and offer packages of roasted coffee to purchase to take home to enjoy!

Very expensive and the begniets were tough and very hard to eat. The employees were not very friendly.

You have to go early or it's hard to get a table.

2024 update: Coffee Call is as great as ever! I've been coming back for decades and always love the food, the staff, the atmosphere, and the experience! Baton Rouge's premier local experience! Great soups and sandwiches at lunchtime! Highly recommend the Italian!

First time here, and it was just okay. First, there are no instructions on what you need to do when you order. Apparently you need to grab a tray, and then they'll put what you order on the try. Didn't know that- so basically got yelled at by an older male working behind the counter when we went to order and didn't have a tray. Our beignets were warm, but not fresh. They had been siting under a heat lamp when we walked up. And, on the inside, they were cooked correctly and some others were not how a beignet should look on the inside. It was a fun stop, but I doubt we will go out of our way to stop here again. Wish we would of had a better expierence, it was disappointing

Arguably some of the rudist and worse staff we have ever encountered at a restaurant. The food wasn't bad, but we will never go back just because of how they treat customers.

Older gentleman helping us with our order was quite rude. Anyways, we got our food. The beignet fingers and the 3 beignets. The beignet fingers were not right of the fryer, so it wasn't as hot as it can be. It was slightly chewy with a hint of saltiness at the end. I thought it had a unique aftertaste for sure. On the other hand, the beignets we ordered were super fresh. Hot. The food in general was not overly sweet, even with the powdered sugar that was dumped on it. Not bad overall.

The place is great but the owner is pretty condescending when dealing with certain people. I get it that people can be difficult but everyone is equal and everyone deserves respect regardless of status or bank account size. People experience good and bad times and to talk to someone as if you are better or to imply they should spend money in your establishment when they may have forgotten their wallet or may not have money at all is just not cool. Not everyone has it good like you sir. You are a nice guy but you were wrong this particular time. Other than that I like the place. You never know who has what and how much of it. Never, ever judge a book by its cover.

Food was great and service felt a little rushed but people were nice and the customers we sat next to were super friendly and we had a great time.

Went here and the service was atrocious. The place looks nice but feels dirty. The beignets tasted dry. Feels like powdered sugar cardboard boxes. This place was listed as #1 for beignets in Baton Rouge. If this is truly the case, they are doomed.

We were passing through and stopped for some of the best Beignets we have ever had. It’s definitely a must stop!

A mandatory stop when I'm in town!

As a first-time visitor, I felt it was unclear how to order and pay. The place seemed disorganized and a little grubby. I loved the food though. Sandwiches, soup, coffee, beignets, all were solid and worth the stop.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The seats are uncomfortable, the food was served cafeteria style. The beignets had a thick, almost pancake consistency rather than a light, airy consistency with a little crisp. We had coffee and beignets. The coffee was overly milky, not strong at all. Think: airplane coffee with too much milk. Just dirty bean water, basically. Overall, I’d recommend going elsewhere. There’s another coffee shop I wanted to check out that is pretty close to this one.

The decaf coffee was the best this week ..loved the begnet fingers

This place has been around forever. It's a Baton Rouge institution. Grab some beignets and a cafe au lait and chat with friends, read, or have a meeting. It's a great meeting place.

I do reviews when the experience changes my views on life. I met the most amazing people at Coffee Call this morning. M & I share birthdays and she and the gentleman, they made my birthday special. The food was amazing but the service was 5 stars. Great people, great food, lasting memories, recognize them. We will return and if you're reading this, go.

Friendly and welcoming staff. We got there at 11pm when they close at midnight and didn’t feel rushed. The Beignets were very good. The coffee was decent too. Wish there were more flavors to choose but the Vanilla Hazelnut did the trick.

Really enjoyed my two visits. The coffee was great. Atmosphere is friendly. Everyone was happy. The place was moderately full at 8:30 PM. Had a great experience.

After a long drive this place was a great stop! They had great beignets and amazing service - even through their quick and efficient drive through. Very sweet staff working and they made my day greeting my dog and I so warmly! I loved my breakfast and my pup appreciated feeling included with the beignet fingers!

20240329 I haven't had beignets in over 10 years, which was the last time I was in New Orleans at Cafe du Monde. I like that his coffee shop also serves breakfast and has prepared frozen soup. I came for the Beignets and got a hot chocolate. The lady gathering and serving food at the counter was so unfriendly. This is my first time here. I was polite, and thanked her multiple times... when she gave me a paper cup for the hot chocolate., and when she gave me the bag of beignets. She didn't knowledge any of it and just moved onto the next task. It would have been nice she she was friendlier. The hot chocolate was amazing! The beignets were great when freshly made and hot. I had the left over after I got back to the hotel and they were hard and dry. Cafe du Monde beignets were great when cold and the next day, still soft.

Good fried dough and the "fingers" are novel. But too often come out cold n rubbery . Coffee is weak so don't think of it as New Orleans cafe au lait. It's not even close.

This has been my favorite place to visit since I was a child late 80's, early 90's and still my favorite place today. Fresh beignets, amazing customer service, and even with all the changes in food production they are reasonably priced. Definitely, a great historical staple in the community.

Beignets are so good, best hot chocolate ever and love the peaceful atmosphere. Big space and you can have a whole experience drinking coffee or hot chocolate in a real cup, not in a paper cup!

We were passing through today and discovered the café after shopping at the adjacent Walmart. Due to the relatively high price, we expected better quality, but were disappointed. 2 coffees and 2 muffins cost $17.44. Muffins not tasty. The staff was also very rude. Regardless of this: the men's toilet cubicle was permanently occupied by one person during our 25 minute stay in the café. Overall not recommended.

Stopped with the family on a rode trip. Top notch customer service and delicious food. A new favorite for when passing through Baton Rouge!

The best and original place for Beignets in BR.

I go out of my way for Coffee Call every time I am in Baton Rouge. Coffee and lady fingers are my favorite staples. The sausage biscuit is great. Lots of good options for lunch depending on the day and your desire. Highly recommend.

Great discovery for us yesterday. When we entered, we were greeted by the owner of the place who suggested the specialty of the place: donuts and coffee with milk. We had a pleasant time. I highly recommend.

The food was great as always but the service was bad. We were immediately given attitude when asked what we wanted and snarky comments about us were made the whole time in line. One example includes, “oh your going to get daddy to pay for it?” We love the food but dont know what we did to receive this attitude and service when all we did was walk in.

My family's favorite Christmas tradition after a busy day of Christmas shopping. Atmosphere is always warm and friendly just like the service.

This place was a dream!! The coffee was hot! The beignets were delicious! It's been a long time since I've had these and they were so fluffy. The cashier helped us decide what to order because we had never been here before. I will definitely come back here!

Usually the staff is friendly but this time the girl taking orders was extremely rude for no reason i haven’t even said a word and she was already rude and yelling. I paid for the beignets and fingers to go- as I was waiting for her to bag them she once again yelled “for here or to go” I paid and left.

My husband and his friend come to Coffee Call multiple times every time they come down here. So when our family finally got the opportunity, two nights in Baton Rouge meant two morning trips to Coffee Call; beignets the first day and beignet fingers the second. Really, how can anyone pass up the opportunity? We also love the creamy hot chocolate and I enjoyed the iced peppermint mocha (seasonal) on the first day we were here, which was a pretty warm one. We got muffins for the road.

Second time eating here on visits to BR. Best bengiets this side of Cafe du Monde. Spouse says their cafe au lait is good - I like their regular coffee - and refills are complimentary; just help yourself. . Counter service/self serve.

Stopped here for beignets as we heard this was the place to go in Baton Rouge. We enjoyed them and ended up returning the next day for another order. If you are looking for great beignets, this is the place to visit.

Would probably give 4.5 as it's a little confusing how to order and we stood there like idiots for a few minutes, but coffee was good and can't complain about the beignets. Cute place.

Meh, beignets and coffee are good, but people who work there aren’t friendly and it’s kind of dirty. Lots of strange people hanging out in the parking lot after dark. Probably a better daytime stop.

Came to coffee call with my friend for a nice snack and coffee. The beignets were not hot anf fresh and the service was not friendly.

I wish this place was in Texas where I'm from. The cafe au lait was one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had. The beignets were a true testament of Louisana tradition. If you're in Louisana and looking for a cultural cuisine, this is the place to stop. I only paid $9 and some change for both the coffee and the beignets.

The fingers are great and a great deal. Best beignet fingers. Coffee is good too. Prices not exaggerated. Highly recommend. This is where I go for beignets.

Was here on Sunday Oct 22 around 10:30. Had this ugly creature at the register. Not really sure if it was black or white nor male or female only thing that was very obvious was its personality was as ugly as it was. Sucks when you own a business and have to hire things such as this

The beignets and the ladies working here have ruined Cafe Du Monde for me, but I'm writing this review almost a year late because I'm realizing now this place has ruined beignets for me in several countries.

Super clean joint. The beignets are the best I've ever had. They're light and airy like ciabatta bread as opposed to the dense greasy rocks you get almost everywhere else. These might be the best beignets in America (and consequently the world).

I have gone twice and it seems that the cashier is so rude to costumers and employees but the finger beignets always come out super hot and gooey I would just like for customers too feel welcomed.

Love Coffee Call - great service, great food and great coffee. BUT, they need to switch their to-go cups. The lids don't stay on or leak every time. For the 2nd time since they switched to these, I went to pick up my cup from my cupholder in my car, and the lid popped completely off, spilling hot coffee everywhere in my car and on my hand. The lids also have an opening, so when you drive and hit a bump, coffee comes out. When you drink out of it, because the lid doesn't fit properly, it leaks everywhere. They are the worst coffee cups!!!!! I have to pour the coffee into another cup when I get to work every time. But, no hate to the staff there. They're always great. Management, fix this problem!

A little of New Orleans in the middle of Baton Rouge. If you want good beignets, this is the place to go. Place stays busy in the mornings, we went on Sunday morning before church let out and was able to get a table without waiting. Beignets were perfect and delicious. We will and always do return to this location when we are in town.

I like that they have well priced coffee. They don't try to go for the illusion of exclusivity by upping prices to ridiculous levels. Sadly not doing that is not always considered "normal." We could have such good and well priced coffee that's sustainably accessible to anyone in the 21st century if people just said 'no' to paying outrageous prices for some coffee, water, sugar, and milk. Anyway, obviously this is a review: I really liked it. They have good pasteries. They're known for their bigets and they are really good. The food is quality made and the place has a community gathering vibe to it I think. I'd definitely reco. Update: coffee was "well-priced"- not so "much" it seems anymore- three "stars." (My "rating" was five.)
