They have great food. People are friendly. My girl lives the Coconut cream pie.

Passed this place for years on my wa home from my cabin...never again, the best breakfast I have had in years. My new favorite stop, everything from scratch, everything fresh, everything done perfectly, service over the top and those pies!

Had been awhile since I have eaten here. Decided to stop in and wasn't disappointed. Everything was good!

It has been over 4 years since we ate at the Old Depot. We stopped for lunch and were dissapointed. I had the bluegill basket. As shown in the photograph it had 4 very small filets. It came with fries and slaw for $13.99 (FYI - The pickle was from my wife's lunch.) We got 2 pieces of blueberry pie at $6.99 each. The pie was made with canned blueberry filling. Very dissappointed.

Cannot really write a solid review on the food, was looking forward to ordering and getting this great food as stated on the other reviews. My family and I were seated handed the means and the older waitress walked away and never came back to the table, we watched as she kept running drinks to other tables, we waited 20 minutes and no one came to the table to ask our drinks. Not the hospitality I was looking forward to, the place was half full and everyone else was already enjoying their drinks and meals. I have never been treated as such, especially having children hungry ready to eat and excited to try a new place, lesson learned. Well here's the menu for others wanting to check it out.

I'm in the neighborhood about once a year for the rally race, and a stop for breakfast at the Old Depot is a mandatory part of the trip. The food is fantastic!!

Excellent breakfast. Food took a little longer than we expected to be ready, but it was well worth it. Will definitely be back again. Nice relaxing environment. And staff was very nice.

This is a great little restaurant to get a good home cooked style meal. Home made bread, pies, etc. The lady who works here is a sweetheart! I have had many meals here already and will continue to be back for more. Don't forget to save room for pie!! 😉

We love the Depot! I have some behavior issues from time to time and the great folks at the Depot always manage to just roll with and find the humor in my antics! I highly recommend the Brakeman breakfast, the eggs are always PERFECT and the bacon snappy! I also highly recommend the poinsettias! I was shocked that they put these on your table for the taking but sure enough they didn't say a single word when I walked right out the door with it! Come get you a fantastic breakfast, with friendly service and don't forget to grab your centerpiece on your way out the door!!!

I go to the Depot for breakfast nearly every morning when I'm in Johannesburg and I'm never disappointed! Fantastic food, service, and environment! Laurie and/or Pam are alway ready with a warm greeting and a nice hot cup of coffee!

Stopped in to have a mother's day lunch with the family. The wait staff was friendly but there was hair in the food, the sausage gravy was like water and what we could eat was not very edible. Whatever, then I got the bill. Holy smokes! Wouldn't recommend!

Was visiting some friends and while I was up there they took me to this place... The food was amazing, and you can tell it's home made. I think it's local sourced? Either way the food was amazing. I'd also like to add... They sell "The Pepper Plant" products, and you can't get this stuff just anywhere. I put my zip code in and the closest place is 40 miles away... So I purchased some! Highly recommend Old Depot!

This is a great restaurant. Our visit was not up to their usual high standards which I believe is due to covid short staffing and supply troubles. They were out of many regular items. The food is so good I'd go back anyway.

I Enjoyed my Breakfast. It was Alot more food than I am used to receiving but I did my best to eat what I could. The Service was Exceptional.

In town for the SnoDrift Rally and found this wonderful breakfast spot along the way. The staff was super friendly and answered our questions on the original depot and historical photos. We came with a large group and all our food was delicious, hot, fresh and came out quickly. At the very least I’ll be back next year but if I find myself in the Gaylord area again at meal time it’ll be well worth the slight detour!

The old depot breakfast menu offers many different options. The food is excellent and the staff is very friendly and they remembered me from the previous Sunday that I showed up. I left fat and happy.

Good food and friendly service, can't go wrong here, never had anything bad here. I highly recommend the smelt dinner or the bluegill basket, light breading, so the flavor of the fish really comes through. If you're in town, the Old Depot is a must stop if you are hungry for some good food and hometown atmosphere!

When Gaylord can’t produce a truly hometown breakfast place, you head out of town. We chose the Old Depot and we couldn’t be happier. Staff was friendly, food was excellent and the place was clean. So I have to ask... Why was a New Depot open when this Old Depot is kind of AMAZING!!! Forgive me for shouting. Anyway, their breakfast is 132X better than the breakfast you get at Home Depot (that is unless you eat Skittles, Monster and caulk for breakfast [NOT a good combo]). Old Depot has eggs, coffee and most everything else you want for breakfast. What else is neat is a person will serve you at your table unlike Home Depot where you have to go put breakfast in a cart, pay for it and then eat it in the car or truck. Lastly, the bathroom is nice, the floor is cool to the touch if you are the type to take off your shoes and socks when settling in to do your business.

Amazing food,great prices, and good selection including some exotic breakfast choices. If you are willing to go a few miles past gaylord,I would definately do it, won't be disappointed. The staff is friendly and great atmosphere, this is now our go to restaurant for breakfast!

Comfortable atmosphere, clean, good service and food. Took my mom for her birthday lunch and she was very happy. Her whitefish basket was good and she was thrilled with her giant slice of lemon meringue pie that was on the house for her special day. I had the gyro and it was one of the best I ever had. They have a huge selection of pies and desserts and they are delicious. Very reasonably priced.

The staff are friendly, the atmoshere is warm and cozy. The food is better than home cooked, everything is fresh and made from scratch. The fresh squeezed orange juice and home made bread makes the half hour drive so worth it. The Old Depot does not disappoint.

My wife and I had the Polish sample plate. We both loved the Pirogis! Very tender (yes, tender; yes, Pirogis), super flavor, and a light crunch in parts of the pasta. They were heaven! Kielbasa was good, with very nice (home made?) sauerkraut. The mashed potatoes were fine and the sauce (mostly there for the stuffed cabbage) was good (I liked it, but my wife is not a fan of red sauce), but I can't believe how much I like the stuffed cabbage! Who likes stuffed cabbage? Not me, but this was awesome! Yum, all around! And don't forget the raspberry cream pie. That was extremely good as well - nice finish to the meal. Definitely a 5 out of 5 from me. From my wife maybe a 4, but I'm writing the review. I always forget to take pictures, though.

The Old Depot is a true favorite in the area. Even though nearly every table is full, and many times there are people waiting, the staff remains happy and very accommodating. Orders arrive in a very timely fashion with little wait time, and the food is cooked to perfection! No one should ever consider leaving without a piece of homemade pie, even if you stop in for breakfast! You need to stop in and dine, and for sure you will be hooked!
