Have always loved Mario's, not this time My Short Ribs was supposed to be served on parpadelli..was served on a mashed potato with mixed vegetables..the beef was good the rest not so much. Hubby's duck which I have had before and loved, was fatty,gristley and tough. Hope this was a one time experience 😒

I'm not a restaurant critic, but how is it that this place doesn't have at least one Michelin star? I dined alone on a Wed. evening shortly after they opened, so I got a table right away. I had the most delicious meal of my life: Tornadoes of Beef, garden salad and Creme Brulee & coffee for dessert. The waitress was perfect too... helpful with suggestions, refined, calm, attentive without being overbearing, and might I add, quite beautiful too All of this cost me $98 including 20% tip, AND worth every penny. When I left, there was a line to the door.... on a Wed. night in August. The food was superb and the presentation was also. Not too shabby for rural upstate NY. You won't be disappointed. Now, critics out there... where is that Michelin star?

Such a great restaurant. Brian, our server was outstanding 👏, We sat inside the dining room but there is also outside seating on a wrap around porch or in the bar area. The pop overs are made fresh every few minutes so they come put of the kitchen hot and crunchy!! Do yourself a favor and go th Mario's!!

We sat in the lounge, it's ok but not like the dining room. They were busy and the staff was hurried, I felt we didn't get the best of service. Food was overall good, the 2 dishes that needed help were chicken Parm and a pasta dish, both were flavorful but very dry , not enough sauce. Have been here before and it was an overall 5. Just don't miss this well established fine eatery.

Love the popovers and the chocolate Martinis. My lasagna bolognese was amazing!!! The gnocchi...delicious. one of my favorite spots to eat! The Crembrule was soothing and yummy.

We made reservations late but they still seated us. Food and wait service was outstanding. We've been waiting 3 years to find time to have dinner here. We will be back in October. If you haven't been here you're missing out.

My mother used to make popovers, so that was a nice memory for me. The food and service at this restaurant was excellent. We definitely plan to return.

Easter dinner for three. I suggest reservations. There was a special menu for the holiday, but it had something for everyone. The popovers are the best, and they have been for years.

Fancy place for special occasions...tasty cocktails and lovely ambience.

Food was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent. Unfortunately, we sat in the bar area and they sat a family with two small kids who yelled and screeched the whole time. I have compassion for couples with small kids, but the host should not have placed them in the bar area. Our experience went down hill from the moment the were seated next us.

My parents and I ate dinner here after coming from Duxbury, MA to our summer house in 2022 since my uncle recommended it. The food was great but the service? Our waitress was rude to my mother (Filipino) but was kind enough to my father (white). We even saw the waitress be friendly to the other tables, but not ours. We did nothing wrong, minding our manners, however we were still treated horribly. My father didn't fully realize it until my mother and I said we felt alienated when we left. Not sure if it was racism or if she had a bad day, but was definitely one of the worst services I've had. I'm not even going to talk about the wait time. Never returning here.

You can't go wrong at Mario's. Always excellent food, service & atmosphere. Small establishment where you will get great food & fresh popovers.

Went for my husbands birthday dinner. Handicap accessible for my uncle. The service was amazing. The food was so delicious. The wine was the best. Nice and quiet setting and enjoyed not being rushed. Lynn made sure it was a perfect night for us all. We can’t thank you all enough for the wonderful night we had.

Great spot. Take a ride towards the Berkshires and stop here! Don't forget to the popovers! Yum!

Amazing, fine dining in the Lebanon Valley. The service was timely and friendly, the fresh warm savory popovers were an unexpected surprise. My main course was fantastic and it was the best crème brûlée I've ever had! It's a bit pricey, but worth every peney

We started dinner with two appetizers, meatball arancini marinara, and the mushrooms beignet. Both were excellent choices. I had the. Tournedos of beef with fingerling, potatoes, broccoli and sweet carrots, and my wife had the crusted haddock with vegetables. They were both delicious and we ended dinner with two great desserts. She had the tiramisu and I had the raspberry chocolate mousse cake with whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Our waitress Cassie was on top of things. Oh yeah, they also give you popovers with dinner. Thanks for a great meal.

Eaten here a few times I love it . Usually come with a crowd, so the service isn’t always exactly on point. But like I mentioned were a crowd and we are having fun. Last time I had the duck and was pleased with it. The popovers are great . The others I have been with have enjoyed. Never heard anything very negative from them. The staff is friendly and work hard …. It works for me……

Best fried calamari I’ve ever had! The food was absolutely amazing, so much flavor and cooked to perfection! The service was amazing, comfortable atmosphere and all around great experience! 10/10 recommend!

We were denied a table because we had a baby with us. We were told there’s no room and we couldn’t even sit at the bar because of the baby and they didn’t have anything for a very long time . Meanwhile when we left and called for a reservation (without mentioning a baby) they said they could sit up within a half hour.

Recently discovered this gem! Have eaten here 4 times over the summer with consistently excellent meals and service. Kathy as our hostess couldn’t be more accommodating. Cassie and Melissa were attentive, helpful and congenial servers. Calamari is awesome - very lightly breaded and delicious. French onion soup a winner. And the popovers are better than anything I’ve had in Europe (no exaggeration!). We’ve eaten outside every time we’ve gone so can’t comment on the interior as to noise or atmosphere. The 4 stars is because the L shaped deck looks out over a parking lot (which I understand, but is a shame). Anyway - just love this place.

There are limited vegetarian options, but the appetizers and dish I did try were excellent. Great appetizers were the Mushroom Beiget and the Zucchini Boat. Their popovers were also perfect - very rich. Eggplant Parmigiana was pretty good. The tiramisu, was also very rich. Overall the food was fresh, flavorful, and well crafted - a very talented chef works here! Our service was fine, but keep in mind the place is usually pretty busy, and it is best to call ahead for a reservation.

Great service. Food is well plated but just lacks that special something. Veal Parm lacked flavor and was over powered by the cheese (salty). Meatballs were a let down. Good consistency but nothing special. San Marzano tomato sauce was a little funky.

Finally got to Mario's and they did not disappoint. Everything was wonderful and the popovers straight from the oven put me right over the top. Everything was excellent and the service impeccable.

The food was very good. The atmosphere is pleasant. Our service was not great, sadly. We went here for our 9th wedding anniversary and we did have a nice time, however our waitress seemed to forget about us sadly. They were busy but i felt there needed to be more attention given to guests.

Food was good. We ordered this peach dessert to go. This is what I got. Sliced peaches with cream! Tasted gross. Terrible service! Waited and waited for another round of drinks....no check in during meal....waited and waited for our check to arrive (40 min at least)...just sitting waiting. Not going back.

I take my parents to Mario's every year. We used to ho after the Theater Barnes last Agatha Christie. This year, we went to the Mac-Hadyn theater...but, we still went to Mario's!!! We wouldn't miss the great food, service and atmosphere!

Divine...simply DIVINE! We tried Mario's on a whim after passing it for years and our only regret is we waited so long. The service is professional and friendly, atmosphere inviting and impeccably CLEAN, and best of all, the food is excellent. Fantastic steaks, pasta, soups, salads, and appetizers. Their creativity is amazing as evidenced by their Mushrooms Beignets: plump mushroom caps surrounded in a light batter, deep fried and drenched in Hollandaise Sauce. We had no room for dessert after such rich and delicious dishes, but we left Happy on every level and will be BACK!

Mario’s is a wonderful local family owned Italian Red Sauce Joint-Must stop when in the region for great meatballs and so much more. Homemade popover AMAZING! Staff will make you feel welcomed and take great care. Save room for desert and espresso

Excellent place. Service was outstanding, pleasant and prompt. Food was absolutely superb. We have not had a better meal in years. From the appetizers to entrees, to delightful desserts. I am o my sorry that I have waited so long to try this well recommended place. We will definitely return. I do advise reservations, and many people seem to know that this place is the best place around.

One of the best dinners I’ve ever had!! This place is truly a hidden gem in upstate NY. The popovers alone are worth the drive 🤤 Everything from the appetizers to our dessert was perfection. I had the red wine braised short ribs and my boyfriend had the duck entree. Both our meals were incredible and surpassed our expectations! You can tell that everything is made from scratch and that the quality of their products is much higher than what you’d expect from an average establishment. The service was impeccable all evening and our waitress was fantastic! We will definitely be going back very soon!! Don’t pass this place up!!

Great food...service was slow and disappointing. Our server seemed to forget we were here while she serviced another room. The food was very good and expertly prepared. We will try again and hope for better.

We dined here to celebrate a birthday and it was perfect as always. Our appetizers were flawless, our entrees were the same. The ambiance and service were on point. We sat inside, but the new outside seating looked like a magical experience with the beautiful plants and lighting. Now that the Mill On The Floss has closed ( I used to cook there ), Mario's is no longer tied for #1 in our book, they are a notch above everyone else in the area in my book.

Got lasagna bolognese very disappointed pasta overcooked small portion smeared with to. Much sauce no meat suggestion cook should be retain how to make lasagna overpriced 5 50 for a glass lemonade overall food quality is going down since the last time I was there

Last night, my wife and I stopped in for an early dinner at Mario's, a place I had heard was really good. We didn't have reservations, but were so early we thought we might get a table. We did, and we are grateful we did. The lasagna was OUTSTANDING! The BEST I have ever had, and it is a food I have been eating for 61 years. My wife had the beef tenderloin, which she said was also terrific. KUDOS to the chef and staff. If you are in the Berkshires, DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. We will be back.

Loved the duck and the bread they served. My friends also enjoyed their meals. The creme Brule was great too and like their wine selections and that they had a cute outdoor seating. Would def go back again

Been gone 1.5 yrs but Mario's made me glad to be home. Was the food good? No, it was great! Scallops over risotto, zucchini noodles, steak sandwich, tomato and rosemary bisque. Sarah behind the bar and the lovely faces of Kathy and Diane. What more could one ask for?

Marios is always the best. Food always 100 persent, staff very attentive. They know how to do it right. Thats why it is my favorite place.

I sent my wife and in-laws there for Mother’s Day and my wife came back seriously disappointed. We’ve been there many times over the past few years for special occasions and we always get our same meal so we usually know what to expect. This day was much worse than usual. There was only ordering off their special Mother’s Day menu and it was grossly overpriced. There was no sauce on the pasta, it was bone dry. Unfortunately, we will never go back there after how they took advantage of mothers this year.

This restaurant was a complete rip off ! Over priced on Mother’s Day …. They didn’t even offer Spaghetti & Meatballs you either ordered just on their Mother’s Day menu or get Spaghetti with sauce that taste likes Hunts out of a can … Which was 22 dollars … Worst restaurant ever

I highly recommend Mario's From the very friendly and most efficient serving staff to the amazing chef and kitchen crew, our party of six are very happy that we chose to dine at Mario's. My wife and I were first timers and are looking forward for many return visits.

Always over the top, a treat for your tasebuds like no other. Pictured warm pear crisp with bourbon ice cream. Boursin topped airline chicken breast with cauliflower & roasted brussel sprouts pilaf, poultry jus,, white chocolate mousse blackberry compote, hazelnut whipped cream, grilled spanish octopus with bacon-herb fried rice, clementine sauce, fennel & micro green salad.

Picked up dessert to eat at home. All 3 options we chose were good.

You can always count on a great meal here!

I called up rather late and staff was gracious enough to send the holiday menu to my phone and give me time to pick my entrees, even called me back as I had to modify an order and still the same super nice service and "glad to do it - no problem" attitude. Pick up was warm and friendly with pleasant conversation, and as ALWAYS the food is DELICIOUS!!!! Our favorite restaurant...Thank you Kathy and Sarah,,,sorry if misspelled your names!
