Really fun day out! The scenery outside is stunning, great for photos, and the cave itself is so interesting. It was great to hear the history and so hard to wrap one's head around the sheer timescale involved in it's creation. Our tour guide Everett was great, really attentive, funny and personable.

This is under rated in our estimation! Super cool area and great tour. Tour guide was corny and trying to be funny, which...if he had just told the story, it would've been much better. But we just happened to see a sign on our way to Saguaro National Park and decided to check it out. It was well worth the trip to see it! Again, very underrated!

The cave is a VERY DRY cave with a very HIGH AMONIA from bat urine. If you have any respiratory issues take your inhaler with you and before you go in and wear a mask. It is not am easy cave hike. If you have any issues climbing steep steps up or down, you should not do this cave. The passages are very narrow. If you are a bigger, taller person, this cave will be difficult for you. I have done many cave hikes. This was the worst due to the high urine amonia from the bat pee and the dryness of the cave. Did not feel like a healthy air cave people should be in. The tour guide was fantasticand knowledgeable. The parking lot, gidt shop, all staff working were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I would rate as 5/10

It was a cool cave but so many of the rock formations on the tour have been snapped off that it wasn't as impressive as it should have been. Still, really cool rock formations like the rocks are melting. Tour guide was entertaining, wish we stopped for more picture opportunities. We came by a few days ago. Sunday. Just getting to review this new as we have just gotten home from our trip. The cave was cool. The tour guide was chill. She lnew a bunch abou the cave. I recommend taking the first tour of the day cause that seems to be when the animals are active. On the way down we ran into a rattle snake. Our guide didn’t get the snake but another guide came and got the snake pulled the snake out and let us take some pictures of the rattle snake. So cool but scary. I took off a star cause it did seem dangerous to pull out a rattle snake to let people photograph it. these people are professionals so they know what to do. Snake are still scary 😱

My family (2 adults & 3 kids between 6-16) all did the tour this last Sunday and holy cow was it amazing! I have been wanting to take my kids on one of these for a while but needed to wait until my littlest was old enough. All my kids, despite their varying ages, had such a great time and were in awe of the cave itself. Also, we had Noah as a tour guide & he was THE ACTUAL BEST. I'm not just saying that either. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and honestly surprised us with all he knew. He also told some pretty good dad jokes that we all got a kick out of and we chatted with him several times after the tour too. Everyone was super friendly and wonderful, we got prickly pear lemonade and some things from the gift store. Fantastic cave tour. Our guide, Tex, had a great attitude and was very personable. He clearly enjoyed what he was doing. However, my only complaint is the further you were back in the line of the other tourists, the harder it was to hear him. Whatever headset he had on didn’t exactly amplify his voice. Nonetheless, the tour was remarkable. And the summoning of the Old One, Cthulhu, proved very fruitful.

Honestly, I came with low expectations and could not have been more wrong. This was an amazing experience for our entire group (ages 11-63). Between the knowledgeable tour guide (Tex), the incredible cave formations and the bats flying around, the hour tour flew by. The tour guide even spent extra time with the youngest answering questions and helping him pan for gold identifying all the rocks in the bag. We highly recommend this experience. BONUS: You are encouraged to take as many pictures and videos as you desire! This is not the case in other AZ caves.

I have lived here for almost 20 years but have never visited the cave before. I'm sad it took me this long to check it out! It's such a cool place to see, rich in history, with so many scientific facts to learn about. I was absolutely impressed by how big the cave is and that it was a proper hour-long tour. I had heard it was a quick, small cave and didn’t think it was worth the drive. Not true at all. It's the perfect activity for a ridiculously hot day since you're in a cool, dark cave; it's a refreshing reprieve. My niece, who is five, also loved it! It’s easy to do—I went in a cotton dress and sneakers. I loved it and would recommend it to everyone! Also, my older sister is claustrophobic, and she did fine. I am 5'10" was able to stand upright pretty much the whole time, and it’s well-lit enough. I hate heights, but there were only a few parts that felt a bit scary. Overall, it was fun for all. I hope this helps. Our tour guide, Jaye Millet, was awesome—smart and really funny.

I had the privilege to visit Colossal Cave twice in one week. My husband and I went on Tuesday with our boys (6 and 8) to do the classic cave tour and our guide was Noah. He was great! He did an amazing job explaining the importance of conservation in caves, pointed out the animals in the caves, and did not sugar coat the danger. Unfortunately, this did scare my youngest a bit, but he's easily frightened and he made it through the tour just fine! The way Noah explained and presented things really excited my oldest, who wasn't sure he was going to have any fun, and he was asking me at the end why the corridor was called the haunted corridor. I told him I didn't know, but we'd find out. After we finished I looked online and saw they had a Ladder tour open on Thursday, which was my birthday. I figured why not book it for my husband and I as a nice little nostalgic adventure. I had done it with Girl scouts 20 years ago and him with Boy Scouts. Us and two of our best friends snagged the last 4 spots and surprise surprise Noah was our guide again! At first he didn't recognize us, but my husband's name was particularly memorable and once I reminded him he laughed and remembered. He took us through an amazing Ladder Tour! We had a lot of fun hearing stories and seeing the other parts of the cave including the haunted corridor. My oldest was so excited for me to tell him about it when I got back. When Noah found out it was my birthday, he planned something special at the end, and my husband said he doesn't think he's seen me so happy before. Colossal Cave is worth a visit, multiple visits in fact. I had so much fun learning about the conservation efforts with my boys and having them ask questions. I love the ladder tour and it's just as great as I remembered from when I was younger. Noah was a phenomenal guide and told us about so much of the history of the park, both recent as well as from its earliest inhabitants. I would recommend it and it was well worth two trips in one week. Thank you for keeping something this adventurous and fun so open and accessible to the public.

We had a very entertaining and informative tour through the cave this week thanks to our guide, Tex. It was nice to learn about the history of the cave as well as see “the Witches Face” and other markers down there. We didn’t get a chance to eat anything but it’s a very scenic view up there outside of the cave entrance. There are several steps but there are also handrails, so hold on!

The atmosphere was a amazing. It was a bit dark but it just added to the ambiance. One of the few enjoyable outdoor activities to do in Arizona during summer. The guide made my son an honorary tour guide letting him help w/ stuff. He said it was one of the best days of his life. My only complaint is there's a steep staircase as you enter before your eyes adjust. I fell and sprained my ankle. Thankfully the walk is fairly easy and slow and I was able to make it through the hike allowing my son this very enjoyable experience.

I took the cave tour again recently. I learned something new this time-techtonic plates! I don't think I've ever heard that on a tour before. Plus--getting to cuddle the iguanas?!? How can you not love it??

We went on the cave tour with Xander. He did a great job and was patient with all the kids questions. Easy trail for the cave.

Didn't eat there, but the food looked good. The cave tour was amazing. Learned so much from Tex (Zander). He kept it fun, educational, and interesting. I liked how he made it interactive, especially with the kids. Hope this review keeps you guys on top of the list!!
