Food hit the spot, we picky eaters and everything was hitting like Ike and Tina 😂 we sat down and got real personal with that bbq potatoes with brisket and fish was str8 up 💵 I almost called Jesus and told him y’all sinnin in there …everything went that way ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️

I wish I could give this place 10 stars!!! It is an excellently run establishment, a hidden treasure , a cultural experience and a great place to eat all in one! We had a fish and shrimp basket that was delicious. The breading was crunchy and super flavorful without being greasy. I had cole slaw and the loaded potato casserole which surprisingly had brisket in it and was delicious. My daughters had a pulled pork sandwich which was equally delicious. To top it all off was the incredibly kind and welcoming staff. They helped us navigate the menu since it was our first time. The food came out quickly and they gave my daughter giant chocolate brownies when we left. I sincerely recommend them to anyone living locally or passing through. Cou-yon's is absolutely worth checkup out!

It was by far the best, and most authentic BBQ I have EVER eaten, and the staff are definitely THE nicest I have ever met at a restaurant. The restrooms are super clean as well, and the water is filtered and does not taste like it came from a well. They also have a GIANT menu with seemingly endless dishes, and their proportions are great for the quality and price. Highly recommend this place, and be prepared for the best Barbecue and Seafood you will ever have!

It is one of my all-time favorite places located in Port Allen. Cou-yon's is well loved by many people. The parking lot was clean, the dining room was clean, and the food was on point 😋. I ordered a loaded potato with moist brisket and a loaded potato with shrimp. My potato was so big, I have to save over half for the next day. The food is always good and hot. Remember to be kind to others and be safe out there. Thank me later ✌️

had the catfish couyon over dirty rice flavor was good but too much etouffe and was soupy I prefer it thicker if I was too order again I would request it on the side so I can pour my own ratio to rice to my liking have eaten here several times before and have no complaints was recommended to try this not sure I'll order this again but I'll definitely be back.. nobody's perfect

Cou-yon's has the best que outside of Texas but offers so much more in amazing sides (mashed potatoes and okra is on top of the list) and cajun specialties. The enormous potato smothered with crawfish ettoufee and top with fried shrimp makes our 5 hour drive worth it. Everything Cou-yon's makes will impress. Priced right with the friendliest staff too!

Staff is always friendly. The owners come and check on how you are doing. A sweet spot in Port Allen. Yummmmmy !!

When I think BBQ I don't normally think Louisiana, I was pleasantly surprised with the smoked chicken 1/4, chopped beef, mardigras loaded potato and dirty rice. Very good!

We'll my prior review of this establishment proves my point. The place can't maintain good food or service long term. On my recent visit I placed a to go order at the drive thru window. I waited outside for 25 minutes before going in to check on my order. When I get to the counter and ask about my order the workers began looking all over to see where my order was. I recieved my order after about another 3 to 4 minutes. Here's the coup de Gras. When I was given my order all kinds of excuses for why I had to wait so long started flying from one worker to another. I was even told that this is not a fast food place. Really. The food is pre-cooked all you need to do is slice the meat add the sides and your done. My last comment to the staff at the registers was " It's better to offer apologies than excuses when you mess up"

Food was fabulous. I've had the Fish PoBoy sandwich and the catfish couyon. Only gripe I have is if you request an extra side like I did with fried Okra, it's very tiny. Not worth the extra charge. But main meals give you plenty of food.

Oh my word! I highly recommend this restaurant! The fried catfish and the crawfish etouffée are SO good! They even brought me a sample to try because I couldn’t decide what I wanted. The catfish is the best I’ve had anywhere! My husband and I both had the etoufféeand my kiddo had the catfish with Mac and cheese! Oh… the Mac and cheese is homemade and yummy too!

We are from Denver and here for a baseball tournament. Our hotel is not far and tonight was our second time coming here for dinner because we love this place! Our first night here, the nice girl who took our order suggested the Cajun rice dressing. It is so good and we’ve never had anything like it. The food is delicious. The staff is friendly and fun and the girl who takes our order is very sweet and polite. It’s a place we keep wanting to come back to even though we are only here for a week. Definitely recommend!

Came to pick up dinner for the day. S son si walked in, the atmosphere immediately lifted my spirits. The staff were walking around, talking to the customers. When I stepped up to place my order, I was greeted by a kind face and warm smile. Ms. Loyce was super sweet and was very patient as I clumsily made my way through my order. She made some friendly suggestions and were spot on. I will DEFINITELY be back in the future!!!

The people were very friendly and so helpful. Wasn't busy inside when we went. The drive thru was moving fast. We got our food quickly as well. It was our first time but definitely won't be the last.

From Florida, and are here in Louisiana payin our usual visit to Mom's home state. Like always, we like to eat out with Pawpaw, who lives here full time. Saw the great reviews for this place, and thought we'd give it a whirl. I'm glad we did! Food was very very good, and the service was too! 10 years in, and y'all got it goin on! 👍 A week into our trip thus far, and this has been the best meal I've had this whole trip! Hope to return when back in the area! Or come to Florida!! 😢😄😋

The food is amazing, but the service and workers are even better. Quick wait and our food came out very fast. We told the owner about going to school at LSU and he came out and brought us one of the extras they made in the kitchen because “college kids always need food”. Would definitely recommend!!

7.12.24 came here for the first time around 6:30 P.M. The drive-thru and the parking lot was full, but there were still enough tables available inside for seating. The waiting staff is awesome! The BBQ IS AMAZING!!!! I ordered the moist brisket, sausage, and the pulled pork with the sides of dirty rice and Mac and cheese. 10/10!!!! You can't go wrong with coming to this place. The MAC AND CHEESE IS SOOOOOOO GOOD!!!! I can't wait to go back so that I can try the seafood. ❤️💖🙂

You get greeted at the door. The ordering process was smooth and simple. One grip, they didn't answer the drive thru window so we had to go inside. But honestly it was better. We could see things for ourselves. Our order came out quickly. The food was hot and delicious. A definite stop when in the area.

I visited the most incredible BBQ joint and it has quickly become my absolute favorite! I've been to several BBQ places, but this one surpasses them all. The meats are unbelievably tender and just melt in your mouth, and their BBQ sauce is simply divine. You get a generous portion of meat along with your choice of sides. The staff are extremely friendly and genuine. My husband and I can't get enough of this place – it's our top spot for BBQ. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area and craving some mouthwatering food.

First time eating in Louisiana! We stopped on our drive from Texas to North Carolina! Food was great!

My Salad was so good. But what did most was one of the workers. Jerome Lockett was so very polite,so very helpful and moved around helping everyone. Looking like he likes his job, and he wants to be there. I almost asked for an apron so I could be a part of the happy team.

I LOVE going to Cou - Yons. The food is always hot and fresh. The only thing I can say was bad was the Mac and Cheese it tasted kind of burnt. Cou - Yons also SEASONES their fries.

I judged the book by its cover, but glad my husband wanted to try Cou Yon anyway. The restaurant looks a bit of a dive from outside, and actually on the inside as you walk in the door. But the food is GREAT, and the staff while busy, also friendly. I had shrimp with sides of cole slaw and baked beans, and my husband had a brisket sandwich. He also had an appetizer of fish bites which were very good (I usually don't like fish). The servings are very generous as neither my husband nor I could eat everything. If I am ever in this area again, I wouldn't hesitate to eat here. Highly recommend. Good stuff.

First time having crawfish and it was a delight!

I ordered the three meat combination with fried green beans and baked beans. The brisket was moist(like I ordered), ribs cooked perfectly and the pulled pork wasn't dry like some places. It's a must try! I highly recommend eating here! If you're a big person, the booths aren't fat guy friendly, if you know what I mean! This place stays busy!

I ordered the Three meat plate.paid 3 dollars for Brisket and it was just fat.Leg Quarter was to big and not smoked and the Turkey was as well.Corn was okay.SMH terrible Mac&Chesse.I need a refund

Quick but crowded friendly busy clean

I called a few minutes ago to order lunch for my coworkers, and let me tell you, the woman who took my order was AMAZING! She said her name was Karen. She was so sweet and patient, even though I had a long list of orders and modifications. I just had to leave a review regarding her service! I give Karen a five star review, keep doing what you’re doing!!

Try the etouffee and fried shrimp over a huge potato. I don't know where they get them from, but they are the largest potatoes I have ever seen. It's a full meal.

I thought Podnuh's had the best ribs and baked beans until I deviate from norm and gave the ribs and baked beans a try at Cou-yons in Port Allen, Louisiana. I would say the baked beans are the best I've had from a restaurant and the ribs are in great competition with Podnuh's in terms of tenderness of meat. I've visited this location more than once and always greeted by pleasant people. The only draw back is space in restaurant. A place like this is fit for large dining areas to accommodate families and allow for creative designs. Thanks

I've heard so many good things about this place but my experience wasn't good at all. Everybody raves about the brisket so I had to try it. The inner part was OK but the edges were burnt. I'm not talking about burnt ends burnt. I'm talking about burnt so bad I literally couldn't chew it and had to spit it out. Burnt ends/edges are fine and to be expected but this was literally like charcoal. The Mac and cheese was fair and the beans were very good. Maybe I just got a bad batch but I have to call it like it is. I may go back and give them another chance but I'm hesitant to do so.

This is a must try! We got the chicken, brisket and ribs. All were cooked so good! We went 45 minutes before closing time and everything still tasted so fresh. Fried okra, baked beans were great. I have to go back for Mac n cheese because they were sold out. The staff was very friendly, one of the workers came to greet us while we were standing back looking at the menu. Being so close to closing time and everyone was still so nice and welcoming. I will be back next time I’m passing through!

Love stopping in for brisket. Delicious protein and fats for a good healthy meal. 5/25- went back in for my usual, half pound of moist brisket. My guest got the turkey barbecue with coleslaw and mac and cheese. As always it was very good and was served quickly. Love swinging by there, very consistent in taste and quality.

A bite of moist brisket from this restaurant will change your viewpoints on food. All the sides are great, but the potato casserole is a unique option that you will order again and again after you try it once. If the owners are in, you can bet they will stop and personally ensure that everything is going well at your table. The food will likely be ready and coming out to you before you even sit down, it’s really fast. My favorite light option is the smoked chicken Clara’s salad, and try the reaper ranch!

Drove by this one the way to the horse show just down the road. Went back the next day and we are soooo happy we did. To so it is family friendly and relaxed would be an understatement. Walked in and were greeted right off the bat. The staff was super friendly and commented on our choices and told us what they did to their food and why they also loved it. I think this is the perfect place for families, clean, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Had the sausage appetizer. The sausage was cooked to perfection and the sauce they have complimented it perfectly. I ordered the chicken with coleslaw and baked beans ( at the recommendation of the girl behind the counter). Chicken was moist, tender and again the sauce they provided was a perfect complement to it. The baked beans were awesome (good call) and the coleslaw was a great way to end the meal. If you noticed one word used over and over, perfect. So much here is just that and because of that, I’m one happy person and we will be back!

My sisters and my niece and I stopped here to eat after attending the state track meet. Three of us had the loaded baked potatoes and one had the fried shrimp meal. I had both fish and shrimp. All of the food was so good, and the service was great. Food was received quickly.

This place use to be the best. The food is still good but its incredibly sad that it feels like everytime I visit lately, which I have been for over 10 years now, the portions just keep getting smaller and the price just keeps going up. Its sad that they are choosing to squeeze consumers like this.

Ordered: Smoked Meatloaf stuffed Potato with sweet BBQ and Shrimp platter with fries and Cajun rice dressing. All of the staff energy was amazing. Cashier was so assisting and sweet. The food was hot and fresh when brought to table. The restaurant was not crowded and was very family friendly.

Delicious... Simple delicious! The is a hidden gem. If you pass through here you gotta stop and try the baked potato with the shrimp.

I was utterly displeased with my most recent experience. We spent $107 for my family. My mom and I decided we wanted to split a shrimp plate on top of that and this is what we received after paying for a 20Shrimp plate.

Alright y'all... This is exactly what I'd expect from a local Louisiana restaurant! The atmosphere was perfect, the service was above and beyond and the food was DELICIOUS. I ordered the Crawfish Etouffee Baked Potato w/ fried shrimp (I asked the cashier what they'd recommend I order) and a side of Hush puppies. Man was it good! And the hush puppies are some of the best I've had. 😋 Highly RECOMMEND Cou-Yons Cajun Bar-B-Q Will be back when I'm in the area.

Not very much of a smoke ring (this is the kind of BBQ you definitely need to put sauce on 😢). Worth a quick fix if you're not in Texas. Some of the sides are really good. Your go-to place if you're in the Baton Rouge area.

We were passing through after an LSU game. The food was so good. We had the étouffée stuffed baked potato with fried shrimp and fish on top, loaded waffle fries with brisket on top and the kids tenders. You won’t be disappointed.

Loaded Crawfish Etouffe Potato was very pleasing. Food doesn’t take too long at all, in a matter of 10-15 mins you’ll be eating. A good meal will put you down for sure.

Second visit and the food was just as good as the first. The BBQ is delicious and well seasoned. We ordered extra to have leftovers at home for the week! The fried okra is on point. Their banana pudding is the perfect little sweet treat to finish the meal. The staff are super sweet and extremely attentive. We will definitely be back when passing through town.

This is the second time I’ve eaten here and it is delicious. Fried seafood was great. Brisket and their sauce was delicious. Think my only complaint was the tea was a little watered down.

Look. I don't specifically recommend restaurants too often. If you are in the Baton Rouge area and want some really tasty cajun food, this is the place. We had the Cou-yon's Catfish Plate. Three thick, golden, crispy fried catfish filets on top of some really good crawfish etoufeé on a bed of dirty rice made with super fresh tasting ingredients including andouille sausage. It's a really basic cafe atmosphere but they do offer catering and the food is great. Edit to add a picture. This is our third visit and we'll be back every time we come through BR.

Everything was delicious ! Fried Fish Platter (4) was nice and crispy.Well seasoned,nice size and not fishy at all.Baby Baby Back Ribs (1/2 Rack) was falling off the bone and the hot sauce that came with it was tasty. Smoked Sausage Appetizer was delicious and nicely sized. Fried okra was soggy and had no flavor.Green beans were decent.
