Friendly staff, food is delicious, atmosphere is rustic and welcoming

My husband and I love Country Grub! We eat the breakfast buffet ALOT! It is the best in town - taste and price! We have never had anything here that we didn’t like. We always love visiting with the owners,..such great people!

So we visited this place for the 1st time. Was excited it smelled good outside and it's in the fairgrounds (we weren't sure it was actually there at first lol) it's very country and homey feeling. Went in thinking of a burger but the husband opted for wing buffet and I followed! Big mistake there were no fries on the buffet the whole time we were there until right b4 we left the wings were dry and overcooked and there were no options of just seasoned very few non spicy options. We waited forever on drink refills. So knowing I shouldn't have ordered that I decided to try the carrot cake as desserts looked homemade and inviting again a mistake it never came and we were forgotten about fornour check for several mins. I was very disappointed as when we walked in we had told the waitress we needed a menu as we had never been there before you would thought atleast service would be good to entice us to come back! Guess I was wrong

Country Grub is all around amazing. The owners Todd and Chas are two of the most wonderful individuals and entrepreneurs I've ever met. Their wait and cook staff are very very attentive and fully able and willing to help. The menu is nicely laid out and not congested and the food. . . . I'll just say this about the food. Bon appétit!!! As a whole you'll be hard pressed to find any business that is open and willing to help support local organizations and other businesses in the community like Country Grub does. In a world fill with chain restaurants amd fast food. We need more Country Grubs.

Good food great service clean bathroom

IF you can find the place (it's pretty well hidden) the food is OUTSTANDING. Home made, big portions, and the service is super friendly and attentive. The place is a little dark inside, and feels more dated than homey, but the food and service more than makes up for it. We'll be back.

Stopped with a group after an event. Inside it is a very warm, family friendly atmosphere. Staff members were attentive and friendly. The food was excellent. Portion sizes were great.

Great little place to eat. Cons, Sticky tables, and ok good food. We will try it again.

This place shouldn't be judged by the outside appearance. We had the Sunday prime rib and brisket brunch. The did was really good. I would call it "Home Style" food. The brisket was really good and fatty the way I like it. Only one BBQ sauce, but that was good too. The baked Mac and cheese was very good. I also really enjoyed the pasta salad. We will definitely be back to this place.

I had the chicken fruit salad and it was great except that the apple was mushy. My friend ordered the prime rib sandwich with no onions and provolone instead of sharp. She got fresh and grilled onions. She was not charged for a meal. Thank you.

Heard so much about wing buffet so decided to try it. Fries were horrible and greasy not to mention cold and hardly any. Wings were cold and dried out. We could hardly eat them. All flavors tasted the same. Paid a hefty $38.00 and left hungry. Was never asked if food was ok. Also buffet never restocked the 45 minutes we were there. Another person came in when we were leaving and he said, "buffet was bad, wasn't it". Guess we weren't the only ones disappointed!

This place is amazing! The food is so delicious! The atmosphere is cozy and the service the employees give is spectacular! If I could give a million stars, I would! 🥰

Inside is very homey and welcoming, the staff went above and beyond for our two littles, and the prime rib (special on a Saturday) was genuinely the best I've ever had! Their bathrooms were also super clean (which is SO helpful with a toddler that days she needs to potty 3 times in a row). Would recommend to anyone.

I highly recommend the bbq pulled pork sammich and seafood chowder and my man recommends their fish sammich. Fries are fresh. Beautiful vintage like restaurant. Family friendly. Go there! You won't regret it!!!

Our waitress was alone and she did a great job. Food was all good and service was excellent. There was 3 of us for a Birthday dinner. We all enjoyed.

Googled restaurants near Franklin and found this hidden gem. Food was great. Service was excellent. (Shout out to Chelsea) Prices terrific. We will be back and will bring friends. We live 1 hour away! My only complaint would be the sticky feeling on the table that comes from sanitizer, no doubt....but glad the table and condiment area was clean!

The best family diner on the planet. Large portions of fantastic comfort food. Made from scratch and served by friends you never met before. DON'T FORGET DESSERT!

Excellent service and great food just like your granny made. Rare steak was perfectly cooked. Even as the place filled up, service never slacked off. Drinks were kept filled. Try the cheese curds - Seasoned to perfection. Generous portions. Now on the list of must stop in when visiting Franklin family. And will have to come back because they were out of the apple lasagna. Bummed but very full and happy.

The food was great and the portions were big. The dessert portions were huge as well and just as amazing! The service was awesome. In my rather lengthy life I have had thousands of hamburgers and as I said to my wife the burger that I had last night was the best ever! The meat was of the highest quality, and prepared to perfection and came out hot, the bun was excellent and the pepper jack cheese that I had selected all provided for the best tasting burger ever!. My wife and I took home the carrot cake and it was superb as well. Unbeknown to us until we ordered Thursday evening's price was an unheard of $6.00, for the burger and the side which we chose was the side salad with a very generous serving of delicious blue cheese. We intend to be regular patrons of this fine restaurant!

Great place. Always good comfort food. Had a wonderful pulled pork sandwich. Smoked to perfection. Wonderful barbecue sauce and coleslaw.

Tonight I had a little over an hour wait for cold under cooked boneless chicken wings and vegetables. My dinner company had fish and salad that was served hot. We were asked if food was ok only after he was finished with his fish. Mine was not edible and needed to finish cooking before I could eat it. The waiter did offer to "rewarm it under the heat lamp" after we were finished with the rest of the meal and had been waiting for the check for some time and a box to take the chicken home to finish cooking it to a safe serving temperature. It was served cold with congealed grease in the container at similar temperature to the veggies and ranch dressing. This is a first for this place to have bad food and bad service it is usually good on both but I don't think we will be back soon to try again it left a bad taste that won't soon be forgotten. Rare chicken is hard to forget and no concern by the waiter during the meal to fix the problem makes it hard to forget... This was a really good place , close to home to get a good home cooked meal too bad that they don't care about quality or staffing like in the past.

Don't let the location fool you! We went to Country Grub after hiking up in Kennerdale and looking up somewhere to eat near there. Again don't let the location deter you from trying this great place out! The restaurant is clean & decorated so neat. Service was friendly and fast. Food was awesome! Prices were absolutely fair. It's 2 hours from our house and we plan on riding the bike out sometime this summer to go back

Excellent food friendly waitress.

Went here about a month ago and it was great! I got a meatloaf dinner and a piece of carrot cake and it was an awesome time! Everybody was so nice! I recommend any of their homemade desserts.

This is a super cute, way of the beaten path gem. We were driving home from Ohio, and took the back roads instead of the thru way. I googled places to eat and came upon Country Grub. It's in the parking lot of a fairgrounds, but don't be discouraged by that. The food was excellent, very good portions and decent prices. My boyfriend got the Reuben sandwich, which he had had a ton of in his life, and he said this was one of of the best he ever had. I had the pot roast sandwich, which was also great. The desserts looked amazing, although we didn't try any as we were full from our dinner. The waitress was excellent as well. The owner Todd saw us walking out and asked how our meal was. He then noticed we had NY Plates and wondered how we stumbled across his place. We had a very nice chat, and he was appreciative of us giving his place a try. He told us about the fairgrounds and said that sometimes people come to eat, but the parking lot is full because of an event, but he usually has tables available inside, so if you want to try a great little place with excellent food, take a minute to check inside, even if the lot is full!!!!!

Been there several times and always has been top notch

We went on Wednesday for the wing buffet. OMG!!! I never have eaten that many wings in my life. They had at least a dozen flavors and the most perfectly seasoned hand cut fresh French fries. My favorite flavor of wings were the happy apple! Simply amazing! See you on Wednesday!

Good food at a reasonable price

Dinner after work on Saturday. Zucchini planks are my wife's favorite appetizer. I got the Hillbilly burger. A burger piled high with pulled pork and bacon.

It's not worth the price, if you want good food for better price go to Leo's. The grub is overrated. What is Haylett? I don't understand what you mean or what Haylett means?

Baked potato was baked before and then reheated. It was NOT a fresh baked potato. Prime rib was dry and tasteless. There are no buffalo wings on all you can eat wing night. Waitress is A + server. It will be a while before I go back.

By the other reviews I thought this would be good but it was just okay. I got the meatloaf and I've had better and I've had worse. The gravy was the thick dark brown kind like Dennys has, not good. For things supposedly homemade I would have thought the gravy would be at least like Pioneer brand that looks homemade. The other dinner was roast beef same not good gravy. We were supposed to get bread and didn't and I think we were supposed to get a vegetable but could be wrong and wasn't going to ask to see the menu again. For over $15 a dinner it was not worth it. The tables were also very sticky like they need refinishing or something. The waitress wasn't nasty but wasn't extra friendly or attentive for the few people that were there. We were going through the area but would never go back if we were that way again. I had high hopes but it was a let down.

This is located inside venango fairgrounds... We were a little hesitant at first seeing that (this is our first time there). But it was 4:30 in the afternoon & the parking lot was packed, we figured that'd be a good sign and boy we're glad we went in. We went for all you can eat wings Wednesday $15 a person. And the wings were delicious there were plenty of flavors. the french fries are to die for they are just like fair fries and make sure you save room for their ultimate lasagna dessert ...multiple layers of crushed cookies and pudding and Cake topped off with Reese's pieces and the portion sizes enormous. I would highly recommend here and would definitely go again. This review isn't letting me post pictures but when it does I hope to do it

I saw the good reviews and decided to try it with my family. The service was great and the food was delicious. I had the pulled pork fries, cole slaw, and onion rings. My family tried the wings, the winter salad, and a pulled pork/mac n cheese sandwich. It was all clearly freshly made, generous portions, and yummy.

Best wings around and owners are hands on and all the waitresses are very nice and on top of their customers needs!! Everyone goes above and beyond!!

Awesome restaurant, great owners! Everything that we have eaten from there has been excellent. Down home cooking with real mashed potatoes and the pot roast is very tender and delicious. Love when they have a taco bar:). If you never had peanut butter lasagna, you need to try it. Great homemade desserts. Anything we get there we have been pleased with. If you haven’t tried this restaurant you need to!

Today was not a good day. But thats a first! Food was barely warm. Not their usual efficiency. Everyone misses the mark occasiionally.

Best place in to eat in or around Franklin.

This was our first visit to their new location. they have plenty of room here. Spacing between tables was good. Hubby had the swiss mushroom burger and I had the chicken salad. Both were very good. Our waitress was a little slow but all in all a good visit. Make sure to check out the rooster!

The best place to eat very delicious I love the fries with pulled pork and bbq and PB lasagna. There nothing bad about this place the owners are amazing people and the staff are very nice.

The best wings and sauces are made here. Not only do they specialize in wings, but they always have a stocked desert case with a variety of homemade cakes and pies. Great service, quaint atmosphere, and incredibly friendly employees.

Best wings in town. All other food is great as well. But seriously, best wings. Ever.

Very little servers, meat inedible, asked them not to make more to take home.but did anyway and was charged for this inedible food.

I was really excited about all the 5 star reviews. The tastes of everything we had was either bland or left us wondering what was "off" about it. Maybe it's one of those hit and miss places where it depends on who's working the kitchen that day? I want to give it another chance, but $70 for 3 meals and desert? It'll be a while.

Friendly people only thing. I would say is fries are really greasy. Check out the dressert price before getting them. One pie was 5.99. That is only one slice.

Came here 3yrs ago and it was amazing food!!!! Stopped by today and it seems that it's closed down. That's a shame. 😔
