1) they take card now, which is amazing as I don't carry cash given how dirty it is and honestly unsafe. 2) the area is CLEAN, locally owned, lovely staff, efficient--5x faster than DQ. 3) the seating is far enough from the highway that God forbid anything happens, people are protected. 4) it's off a local highway and close to a few others. Yes, it's worth a 10-15min detour if need be! 5) I take my parents here weekly and they love it as well!

Old fashioned ice cream stand. Nothing has changed since 1972. The soft serve ice cream ("custard" in South Jersey ) is so delicious. Sundaes, dip tops, shakes, and a cute outdoor seating area. Cash only.

The most delicious ice cream ! This has been our favorite stop on our way home from the Jersey shore for the past 40 years!

Good ice cream. The older lady at the front could use some customer service training. " REPLY TO CUSTARDS CASTLE OWNER". I did not have a bad experience. The one woman in the front was a bit rude. It was busy out so maybe she was overwhelmed. No issue.

When going to Custard Castle, I would expect to see custard on the menu. I asked one of the employees what kind of custard they have, and they said Vanilla, chocolate, twist, and orange a flavor. When we got the “custard” it was just ice cream. I was very disappointed. Soft serve ice cream and custard are not interchangeable. The ice cream that my family and I got was very good, but not the custard that is advertised.

I enjoy custard and the staff is amazing and friendly. Line was long waited almost a half hour, but there aren't many custard stands around anymore. Let's keep this one going.

Our go to place closer to home. Plenty of parking so you can stay and eat before leaving and we don't mind the lines that we sometimes encounter.

almost $9 for a small cup of vanilla soft serve with walnuts, caramel, and whipped cream..... 9 freaking dollars is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS..... disgusting ****Updated to Custard Castles Response.... I'm not sure who is making up these prices or doing the math but we were there the night before and bought the SAME kind of "sundae" and an ice cream sandwich and the total came out to $11.41 including tax.... whoever it was that "explained" it to my wife, not my friend, couldn't even do the correct math when they were explaining the prices. the prices they were giving would have totaled almost $11 for that same "sundae" that my wife was charged $8.80 for LOL. common, gotta do better than that!

Please everyone Chek in price first and then will buy.they lie so easy... 8,80 $ one little ice crea,i payed for. then I calle d and ask how much it cost each things,becouse come in so expensive and they told:little ice cream 5.50$,walnut 1,50$extr.walnut 1.50$Carmel 1,50,wip cream 1$.it's come in 11 $. It's just shame...

Good price! We went around dusk and got a soft serve and a frozen yogurt. It was pretty great! There are even dairy free options for people that can't have it but still want a treat. Update! We were really craving ice cream and custard Castle is open again for the summer and it's still delicious! I had a chocolate and vanilla soft serve swirl this time and it was pretty good.

Only place I've ever seen a Parfait offered. Priced so reasonably and, OH SO DELICIOUS with fruit, whipped cream and vanilla and chocolate custard. I'd be here too often if it wasn't so far away...

This was a custom creation - coffee Ice cream, peanuts, banana, hot fudge, and whipped cream. Yummy yummy goodness. Great folks too. Wasn't expensive at all (and I probably ate three times from that cup - too decadent for one sitting!!!)

I don't think their product is special compared to other places. It tastes good, but I don't necessarily think that it pushes the bar. It's just exactly what you would expect from an outdoor ice cream location. If you are in the area, I can recommend stopping by. They have a decent selection. I will warn that it may be difficult to get here if you are on the wrong side of the road. Legally, you aren't supposed to make turns from the other side. If you are heading towards Mays Landing, there is a exit that you can take that will let you drive on the overpass and then immediately exit onto the other lane right in front of Custard Castle. If you are exiting Custard Castle and want to drive to Mays Landing, there isn't a legal turn for awhile.

I have been a "castle" custard customer for 30 years or more. There is a reason the line wraps around the building most nights. The locals know that this is the place to go. Family owned and run for generations. A local landmark

Absolutely Amazing! Always good selection of ice cream products with kind service, can’t beat it! One of my favorite places to stop in the summer. Prices are good.
