This is a cute little place with great sushi and great service. They were very welcoming and fun and the sushi, especially the tuna scallion roll, was very good.

this place had very unique vibes. it feels like a place where a lot of locals hangout. a lot of people enjoy sitting at the sushi bar. there are a lot of roll options but many of them include a mayo sauce, which isn’t my favorite and it’s on the inside of the rolls. overall the service was good, prices are decent and the food was not bad!

Generous portions, authentic true Japanese, very fresh fish, excellent service---probably the best in town (20 years in the restaurant business, so I am hard to impress) Prices are 6 years old in my opinion, so the value is tremendous. I would pay 20% more and still be happy.

Daiko Jerry San’s Sushi Bar makes the freshest, tastiest and most authentic sushi around!! The prices are more than reasonable. Jerry’s spicy sauce is phenomenal!! It’s definitely on the spicy side but definitely delicious. The restaurant is immaculate, Jerry is very friendly as is all of his staff. I wish they were open 7 days a week. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays. They open at 4:30pm. They have off street parking. You can sit at the sushi bar, table or order takeout. I HIGHLY recommend Jerry San’s and can’t say enough excellent things about them. I’ve been going there since they moved from West Haven and will continue to be a lifelong customer. You just HAVE to give them a try and you will be too.

Jerry’s was amazing! I used to go to his New Haven location (before Covid) and then moved to Boston. We were devastated to hear they had closed. Then I got diagnosed with #celiac (uggh! 🤦🏻‍♀️). But then Jerry has re-opened at this AMAZING location. We love it and brought the whole family! And they totally accommodated my #glutenfree allergies. The sushi is fresh, the atmosphere is celebratory, and it is celiac-safe with GF soy sauce and careful preparation. Thank you, Jerry! 🥰

Legit some of the best sushi I've ever had. Everything tastes better, literally. Owner had a place in West Haven for years but moved to Branford recently. Stopped in random Tuesday and sat next to a 20 year loyal customer that was back at Jerry San's place for the first time since they moved and they couldn't rave enough about the food (specifically the spicy mussels) and Jerry. My new spot for sushi without question. Can't wait to go back.

Daiko Jerry’s is the best sushi in town. They can turn people who dislike sushi into people who want to go out. And people who think they know good sushi into followers. The only issue is the parking! Not sure why it’s bad, but it is. But so worth the aggravation. Just go.

I’ve never dined in but done takeout a handful of times. Unfortunately wasn’t pleased with my LAST takeout. Not impressed by the quality of the sushi rolls. Didn’t taste fresh at all, rolls fell completely apart.

The absolute best sushi in the area! The owners are wonderful people and I was so excited to see them re open in Bradford. We've been coming weekly for years and have yet to have a bad experience. The spicy sauce is a must! Even the kids love it, the katsu and udon are fabulous so there's no need to worry for those who don't eat sushi.

My wife and I have loved this place for years, from back when it was by the Yale indoor tennis courts. The new appearance is very nice. Our favorite roll is either the Jimmy roll or double decker, but you really can't go wrong.

Jerry (the owner) carries an amazing personality, caring for his customers as an owner and on the sushi bar. He gets the freshest fish out of all the local Sushi places in the Greater New Haven area, and he picks the fish himself! I can eat handrolls from him all day every day...

I'll start by saying it simply: Jerry San's has the best sushi I've ever eaten. It's not just the sushi, either. Everything from the cocktails to the desserts taste absolutely amazing. The sushi itself is definitely of the highest quality you can get in the New Haven area. Not only is the food amazing but the service is top-notch. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and the service is fast, even when they get busy they are always on top of things. If you like sushi or Japanese food at all, you can't go wrong with Jerry San's

Jerry San sushi bar has moved to Branford and are we lucky for that. The Branford Hill restaurant has a compact dining room, but a long sushi bar for those of us who like to sit and watch the magic rolls and delicate sashimi come to the plate! I had a large eight piece roll full of salmon and tuna with cucumber and scallion. Then had a spicy scallop roll. The first one was delicious, the second was not so great as I could not find the scallop. I love this authentic place and the prices are very reasonable. I am so glad they moved to my side of the Q Bridge!

New location! Sushi was just as amazing, if not better, than before!! We waited a bit on a Wednesday, great sign. Staff was attentive and efficient.

If there were more stars, I'd gladly give them. I've been going to Jerry's for over 20 years. I've cruelly held every sushi restaurant I've been to since, to that high standard....Nobody ever came close. It's never been a second thought. If sushi was the meal of choice, it was going to come from Rt34 in West Haven, not even another name was mentioned. I was alive to experience the best ever. It's akin to being alive during the daily use of electricity.....YES...It's that important! Now, I have the sick feeling of watching the end of this era, and I want to cry. I've been sober 30 years, and I realize I've never had a sake bomb with Jerry......and I never will, because I'm staying sober, and Jerry......he's retiring. Godspeed My friend... Billy Skrainski

My favourite thing about this place is the decorations and atmosphere. Upon entering it’s filled with dangling origami and the ambiance is just so cozy and welcoming. On top of all of this, they serve such amazing sushi and service. Every item we ordered was fresh and delicately made. Even after we ran into a small issue with one of our rolls, the waitress and cooks quickly attended to us and remade the roll with no issue. Highly recommend for one of the best sushi’s in town

Went on a recommendation from a friend. Place looks like a gas station from the outside but it is amazing, great food all around, not just sushi. If I'm in the area again I will go back.

I have come to be a regular here. I have never been disappointed in the quality of the food, the fun and the fellowship. Jerry's is a community of people who come there to enjoy themselves. I'm happy to have discovered such a gem in my neighborhood.

Jerry is literally the best in CT. This is the place that about 9 years ago taught me to never read a book by its cover. What it lacks in outside decor it makes up for 100x inside. I have literally never had a bad meal at the sushi bar in my over 100 times eating here. Do not hesitate to eat here. If you do you are missing out.

The Jimmy's roll and Spicy Tuna roll are SO GOOD! For real one of the best sushi places I've ever been to. Nice service overall, have recommended to all my friends.

Good food, but we had awful service one night recently (early November 2021). Really disappointing. They served me my sushi and served my partner his beef teriyaki 20 minutes later. The place wasn't even busy.

I've been trying to find a good Japanese/sushi place around here for about a year! Finally found it! Sushi is always PERFECT and the entrees are great too. Honestly way better than any other place nearby. I'm in Milford and we are basically never going anywhere else for Japanese. As a bonus, the sake selection is great, and the beers come with frosty glasses. Love this place.

I've tried numerous sushi places here in CT and this is in my top 3 without question. Very quant and simplistic but phenomenal food.

I was recently introduced to Daiko and Jerry's Sushi Bar and I cant wait to go back! It was such a friendly place and literally like walking into Chears from TV. Jerry knew everyone on a first name basis. VERY authentic, so dont let the name throw you. The Seafood Soup is my favorite so far.

Always delicious. The spicy mussels are a must try. Double decker roll is insanely good. The sashimi is cut thicker than you'll get any where. Not to mention Jerry is a MASTER CHEF !!!

Great sushi and reasonable prices

First off I’ll start off by saying that the entree and dessert were very delicious and well presented with ample portions of both. The sushi rolls were not like a lot of other Americanized places that slather the pieces with sauces and roe, they were plainly presented and decent tasting; very no frills here. The reason for the three stars is that the service was very poor. I don’t know what was going on that our server rarely came to our table but it was very annoying having to constantly ask for basic things a waiter should do automatically. We had to call him over and over again individually to order drinks, to get eating utensils, to order our food. The only time we didn’t call him was when he initially brought us water and then for our our entrees. I gave him some slack to see if me asking a few times for things would get him moving but it was to no avail. The sad thing is that the atmosphere was very homey and chill and the bar scene was very lively with the patrons clearly enjoying themselves and the spot full of regulars. I will try again in the future and would amend this review accordingly if I see better service.

This place is the OG around here, and for good reason. This is the first place I ever had sushi and it sparked a love affair that has lasted 15 years and counting. The atmosphere is tops, the service is sublime and the sushi.... Oh my God the sushi! It is second to none in Connecticut. The only problem is that once you have the best, the rest will simply never do.

Our family has been eating at Daiko for years and we are sushi snobs. So believe me when I say that Daiko is hands down the best sushi restaurant within 50 miles. Hands down!

Been going to Daiko for years. For some reason, I think they used to be a tad bit better in the past. However, the sushi is still top-notch compared to others in the area. I would still return if I'm craving sushi.

Small place with big taste. The sushi chef knows what hes doing. My only complaint was the server not being attentive. Kept having to ask him for stuff that he should have been on top of. But don't let that discourage you from giving them a shot.

It always seems as though everyone in this place is having so much fun, especially guests at the bar. There is definitely good mood in the air. Service is friendly, the owner and chef is always there entertaining. If I had to rate the sushi separately it would probably be a 3.5 out of 5 - in regards to creativity, size, flavor and ratio of filling to rice; but the experience overall is great so will keep coming back

First time coming here and let me me tell you this place is Excellent! . I Had the Spider Roll Sushi and it had a very nice soft texture with lightly crisp fried crab inside. I Highly recommend this place for everyone for those sushi lovers out there. Thanks!

Hands down.....the best sushi you will ever have. Period. You will go other places and they will never live up to Jerry's. You will keep coming back and appreciate Daiko even more. Also, Jerry San is one of the nicest persons you will ever meet. A genuine sushi master. A down to earth joyful person. Try the crunchy spice tuna roll. Try the Jimmy roll. Keep trying and trying....you will not be disappointed. Have a hand roll with Jerry at the bar. Enjoy!

Jerry is great!! I love the sashimi & spicy crunchy tuna. Also I find the miso soup to be much better than others! Tobiko on the California rolls is a nice addition!! Fantastic sushi!

If you love sushi go to Jerry Sans Daiko. Start with the seaweed salad and edimani then choose from a myriad of entrees either cooked, sushi, or sashimi. Lunch and dinner are consistently excellent and the professional staff never disappoints.

A good selection of more exotic sushi but failed to execute them well. The place itself is very nice; the atmosphere, the service is phenominal but if you're looking specifically for great sushi this might not be the place.

Great sushi and quick service always with a smile. You really gotta hand it to Jerry-san, that guy can whip up some crazy rolls that still taste delicious.

No one goes there anymore - it's too crowded - that, and one person can not expected to serve an entire dining room. It's a shame, cause the sushi is quite good...but sushi is not sustainable. So why do we eat it.

It was terrific! The sushi was simple exquisite, beautifully prepared, and delicious. Once you have that first bite it's like tasting a little bit of heaven. I highly recommend going to Daiko.
