The owner asked me to leave a review, here is the review: I got curry for 18 dollars. It has 2 bones, 5 pieces of meat each the size of half a thumbnail. He asked if I wanted rice and naan which he did not mention was an upcharge. The total was 26 dollars for rice (cost under 10-20 cents) 3 or 4 pieces of naan (1.00?) and a small portion of lamb that was less than 2 or 3 oz. He did try to fix the mistake when I told him....by giving me another 2 or 3 oz serving. But this was upon asking, not as a given and is ridiculous. But for 26 dollars I was just robbed, and asking for a tip, when you own the place is ridiculous You seem like a good guy, but this was not right. It's a 12 dollar dish top, and if there's upcharge for rice and naan, which should COME with your food, then I would be left with a soup of curry with barely any meat, just seasonings for 18 dollars

Food taste was OK not like ones I have eaten at other Dhabha’s. Nothing stood out that makes me visit the location again. Cost wise I find it very expensive in comparison to some high end restaurants I have eaten at. Not sure why this location is charging so high for food for very ordinary food and no great ambience. For example garlic naan for $5.99 each is very very expensive 😮

Desi Dhaba is the place to go for authentic homemade Indian food. Everything I ordered was amazing. I made a second order to go. It’s worth the drive.

This place is amazing! We have just left there with full bellies and enough bagged up for a 2nd dinner at home. Yes.. when we first visited and we pulled in the parking lot we found the building a little strange and was wary. We almost didn’t stop. Until you enter and smell those authentic spices. You know there’s potential for a great dinner just from the appealing cooking smell. You order and get to choose your spice level because the chef is cooking it for you fresh. We visited again tonight and drove 45 minutes to get here tonight and it’s so worth it. Just as good as the first time. We are British and love a good authentic curry which is hard to find. Now…on a separate note my husband can eat anything but me, I’m sensitive to gluten and dairy and eat gluten free. Did I have any issues eating here. Not both times so far. Now the food is cooked hot and fresh. Last time we drove 45 minutes home and was amazed that the reusable plastic containers had kept the food almost as hot as it had been in the restaurant. I had to take the kids off for cooling before I put it in the fridge. Then we ate it 2 nights later with some fresh chicken in… again I was fine! So look beyond the building and decor. If you like authentic Indian food with flavor and spice at your level, give this place a try. It’s worth the drive!

My wife and I enjoyed a delightful meal, starting with paneer samosas as appetizers. The bread, or rotis, were exceptionally tasty, generously smeared with butter. For the main course, we had Malai Kofta and Chicken Biryani, both accompanied by Raita. The portion sizes were generous, and the Biryani had a unique flavor, resembling Kashmiri Pulao, with its mix of cashews, raisins, almonds, and aromatic basmati rice. The chicken was boneless, adding to the overall ease of enjoying the dish. To round off our meal, we selected almond halva for dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending. We also appreciated that mineral water was provided at the beginning of the meal, adding a touch of hospitality. If you're looking for an authentic Indian dining experience with a variety of flavors and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must-visit.

OH MY HOLY LORD...AWESOME EVERYTHING! FRESH EVERYTHING! THIS PLACE IS TEXAS' BEST KEPT SECRET!!! We went mid-week for our anniversary dinner. We'd driven by several times, LOVE Indian food, but outside appearance was a bit distracting On entering, it's was bright and spotlessly clean. Service was really outstanding. We asked if they could make up a dinner with anything but the typical, popular dishes. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! Two appetizers, one tandoori chicken, the other some kind samosa. The Dahl was amazing, butter chicken was mouthwatering, Naan freshly made...really can't say enough. Oh...the little donut-like balls for dessert....wow. We were the only ones there that night. I cannot believe this place is ever empty considering all the pluses. Yeah, the plastic utensils and Styrofoam plates are kinda...well, there could be an improvement there, but as far food...THIS PLACE IS KING!!

Great food and atmosphere. Tried a spice level of 10 and I was regretting it. Food was great I really liked the chicken Chilli and the parathas. They offered to remake the food as well with less spice but I own up to my spicy mistakes.

For the longest time, we didn’t have good Indian food in Fort Worth up until now. This is a family owned establishment and the food is made fresh and very good! Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed!

We went to Desi Dhaba about a month ago, been meaning to write the review since then. We tried several different dishes because we are not in the area often. We tried malai kofta, chicken biryani, chicken jalfrezi and goat curry. My personal favorite was chicken jalfrezi but we really liked goat curry too. Biryani was also good. We really liked the malai kofta gravy but we thought the kofta balls could have been better. Kofta balls tasted more like fried aaloo tikki balls. We might still get the malai kofta for the tasty gravy. However, the best thing about this place was the service. The people serving us, who were also the owners, were extremely nice. We had chosen the spice level of 4, which we expected to be moderate. The food ended up being spicier than we had expected. The owners offered to take the food back and bring new one with less chilies. They were also very nice throughout the rest of the meal. It is also really peaceful. We will definitely go there again!

I recently dined at Desi Dhaba and had an absolutely delightful experience. The food was simply divine, with the Tandoori Roti stealing the show with its perfect blend of flavors and texture. We have not sat down to eat here but we had the take out. We have recently boycotted our next choice and decided to try Desi. It did not disappoint. The owners were amazingly friendly and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back.

The butter chicken and tandoori chicken were both so good. The Indian Tea was annazing too! My family loved the meal.

Great small Indian place between Rhome and Aurora / Boyd off 114. I was there worth my son and we both had goat curry with Naan and rice. Excellent food and service but a warning to the unexpected that some dishes note it’s on bones and there are bones. Mine did and I ate around the bones but worth noting is all. Likely will try chicken dishes next time - and there will be a next time for sure. Of note, this restaurant is more “family style”. I recommend 1 rice per person as we attempted to share a single rice only to need to order another. The naan was plentiful and very tasty.

Delicious! We drove to Rhome to try out this Indian restaurant and we were not disappointed! It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but the owners were super friendly and welcoming. We tried the butter chicken, the chicken tikka and of course the naan. They were all so good! We will be returning!

My first time trying Indian food and I was so impressed. Every item was fresh and delicious! Try #3 or less in spice for the first time. Butter chicken was my favorite. But my family had the goat and other dishes and everything was delicious. The chef and his family were so accommodating and gracious. Oh the coffee, chai and mango shake were perfect too!

The worst panjabi food ever in my whole life till now….went there to try based of of good reviews and it seems like panjabi owned restaurants but Its far from being an authentic panjabi food.. I had paneer tikka masala which was watery instead of being creamy. Paneer kabab was more like marinated raw paneer it was not roasted properly and price of naan is close to fine dinning restaurant 😐 Couldn’t eat even half of what we ordered.. Veg Samosa was bearable.

Dallas hidden gem… best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. Don’t let outside ambience deter you from trying this place. I have tried masala chai…ordered it twice for its excellent taste. Aloo paratha (paratha with potato stuffing inside), it’s not there in the menu but I have ordered it twice. They also mixed paratha in the menu. I’ll definitely come back and try all the items in the menu. Also tried Almond Halwa, taste was excellent. Also don’t forget to ask the spice levels based on your eating preferences.

I absolutely love it here! My family and I are definitely going to be coming back. The chai is amazing and so is the food. My favorite part it how it smells here. When you first walk in the smell of the beautiful spices hits you. For me it’s a very comforting smell. My kids will likely think of me in the kitchen cooking. This place is happiness. You can taste the love they have for their food and family.

The food here is very desi unlike other restaurants in DFW area. The non veg Thali came with Mutton and chicken curry which was more than enough for even two person. Sweet lassi is a must try and Raita too. Would definitely suggest for some authentic flavours in Texas. Only thing is to ask them not to make food very spicy as their spice level can really be too much.

This place is special. You might not think much of it driving by but inside there's a flavor like no other in the area. This is a small family owned business and they make everything except their sodas from scratch!The paneer and naan are exceptional! The service is very good, the lady who took our orders was very patient and answered all of our questions. We'll definitely be back to try more! I highly recommend the paneer korma and the paneer Tikka masala!

Finally took the time to visit this hidden gem! PK did a great serving us and guiding us in the right direction when ordering. We started off with the jalapeño & cheese samosas. It was a great started that came with 2 sauces. One was sweet with a little heat, so yummy! Then we had the Desi butter chicken that came with perfectly cooked basmati rice and butter naan. It came with 8 pieces of naan which we were able to get half butter and half garlic naan for a small up charge. We also had the goat curry, the goat was very tender and delicious. Both of the meals we chose spice level 5 which was perfect! We also had mango lassi to drink. It was so good we got one for the road. Definitely will be back to explore more of the menu!!

Highly recommend!!! Wonderful lunch and probably the best Indian food our group has ever had! It is no frills but the attention to the food quality is top notch! We had jalepeno and cheese simosa's, paneer, chicken tiki & malai kofta. The owners are very friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic Indian food without the drive! I ordered the Chicken Biryani, and not only did they serve a massive portion (I will be eating this for lunch the next few days, this picture is AFTER i had eaten my meal!) it was also one of best tasting things I've eaten. Certainly the best food in the Boyd/Rhome area, we will be back soon!

If you want a true Punjabi experience, go here. The food was very good and typical dhaba food. Daal tadka and Daal makhani was outstanding, probably the best I gave eaten. The place is completely run by a family and we're very hospitable. Food was all freshly made, so there will be a little bit of wait. But keep the patience. It will be worth it. Very highly recommended.

Do not let the certain charm of the outdoor facade turn you away, this restaurant is absolutely worth the stop. My wife and I moved here from Chicago about a year and a half ago. We've been living in Fort Worth and enjoyed Spice 8 and Namaste. We had our favorites in Chicago as well. We moved to Rhome last week and I can honestly say that Desi Dhaba made it worth the move (among other things). My wife exclaimed that it was easily the best Indian food she's ever had, and I have to agree. It's probably in the top 10 places I've ever eaten. My wife ordered the butter chicken (a 3 spiciness) and I had the Tikka masala (an 8). The heat was perfect on both. Mine had the long burn fire I yearn for and both curries were positively phenomenal. We both opted for garlic naan and I think it was probably the right choice. I believe they typically serve it with cilantro (and our first batches came as such), but they also brought us another with fenugreek and it was delightful! The folks running the restaurant were some of the sweetest, most down to earth people I've come across. It was obvious there is a deep passion for both the food they delight their customers with, as well as sharing that passion with everyone that comes in. I can't promise you many things in life but one thing I can promise you is that we'll be back to this gem. A lot.

Desi Dhaba was such a pleasant surprise. In the middle of nowhere, just off 114, on a gravel lot and inside what looks like a container or prefab, you will find delicious home cooked meals. We tried two different types of samosas, chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, butter chicken, pilau rice, garlic naan, and butter naan. Everything Jag cooked exceeded our expectations. I also prefer bottled water (which we were served) instead of tap water with ice, We’ll be back.

Great food! Jag, the chef rightfully takes pride in his homemade spices and fresh ingredients. All our food was hot and delicious. We had traditional veg samosas, butter chicken, Chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, and a ton of plain and garlic naan. Also had to try the unique creation: jalapeño cheese samosas! Tex-Ind dish!?! Real good! I like spicy food. I like sweating a little it’s so hot. I had the spice level 8 (out of 10), I’ll try 9 next time I go.

This is hands down the best Indian food I have ever eaten (literally in comparison to a 5 star restaurant in London & all of the places around my office in Southlake..) Definitely has an authentic Indian restaurant feel - music videos of Indian music playing on the screens and the decor. The staff is also very friendly! It’s a small town feel & again the food is absolutely incredible. We ordered the chicken tikka masala & butter chicken *chefs kiss*. We’ll be back with our friends and family for sure!!!

The food is pretty delicious. They treat every customer as guests with utmost respect and care. The quality of food is fresh and unadulterated (home made). I recommend this place if you want to taste desi authentic Indian cuisine.

Everything was fresh and piping hot. They make their own seasonings from scratch and that alone is worth the drive. It’s a family owned business and everyone helps out. We will definitely be coming back soon.
