Was excited to try because if the amazing reviews but once I got my pork belly bahn mi I was super disappointed. The pork belly seemed uncooked and super fatty making the sandwich basically inedible. Will not be coming back /:

Tried this place for the first time today! I will be definitely going back to order the grilled pork vermicelli with the spicy fish sauce. It was very good.

Very clean, fresh and quick service. Went in for first time and staff were happy to help us select a great lunch. Bread was on point along with the food and drinks. Appreciated the positive experience with my daughter we all enjoyed.

I recently visited this banh mi shop and ordered the beef banh mi and Vietnamese iced coffee. Unfortunately, both items were a miss. The Vietnamese iced coffee was particularly disappointing. Its color was off, and it was overloaded with sugar, making it unbearably sweet. It felt like I was drinking diabetes in a cup. Hardly any coffee. The beef banh mi was equally underwhelming. The beef was bland and dry, lacking any robust flavor or juiciness. On the other hand, the bread and veggies were soggy, which further detracted from the overall experience. It lacked the authentic taste and freshness one expects from a good, authentic banh mi. This is not the place if you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food. I hoped for a delightful culinary experience, but sadly, this shop did not deliver.

Tried this place for the first time today. I had the banh mi sandwich with the bbq pork and it was delicious! I also tried their boba milk tea and it was also delicious! The food and drink came out very quickly. I will definitely come back again.

I’m Vietnamese and they have the most authentic banh mi’s in San Antonio. The bread is one of the most important parts of a Banh mi and they have it right. Always clean and the workers are always nice. 10/10 recommend!

It was our first time here. We arrived 10minutes before closing. As we arrived the female employee was already cleaning ready to close and she gave us the ugliest look. We did not feel welcome. The rest of the employees were very nice. Our slushies were delicious, but that one female employee was not.

The food is delicious We got the vermicelli bowls. One with sesame chicken and one with sweet and spicy pork belly. Drinks were strawberry lemonade We will definitely return

The Vietnamese Ham is more texture than taste, however, everything else was excellent, hence 5 stars.

atmosphere was incredible and a worker named trevor took his time to help my friends and i find what we would enjoy for our first visit and he was extremely nice, helpful and professional. we sat down and he brought our food to us and it was IMMACULATE. after we finished and got ready to leave he gave us punch cards to encourage us to come back. just an all around great experience thank you!

I love this place. The food is always fresh and tasty and the staff generally get the orders correct. When I’m craving one of this place’s bowls, no other place will do. Whether I pick up or have it delivered, I’ve always been satisfied. The vermicelli and rice bowls are both good. House sauce and peanut sauce are my favorite. I usually get the sweet and spicy pork belly, sesame chicken, or garlic beef. Highly recommend.

This is probably my new hyper fixation. I drive by this place ALL THE TIME!! One day i finally tried it and i went right back the next day. I made sure to get enough to hold me over the weekend but OHHHHHMYGOODNESSSS this place is delicious!! I got a sandwich and a bowl.

Dr Bánh Mi went out of their way to not ONLY deliver my order after an uber mishap, but let me keep the wrong order I got too. Their service is crazy good 😭😭 Food is also crazy good! Their bread is flaky and chewy, yet holds its integrity for the yummy ingredients. The pork is delicious! Pickles and veggies all compliment it well and keep the sandwich refreshing. They nailed the bahn mi (well duh, they have a phd in it). A perfect lunch!

Good food, I'm personally not a fan of Vietnamese food, but my wife likes it. The rice bowl with pork belly was very good. I would definitely order it again without the carrots and cucumber. The corn was sweet and delicious. The house sauce is good. My only complaint is the bowl was kind of small, had to dig down to get to the rice. Other than that, everyone enjoyed.

Banh mi, vermicelli bowls, rice bowls, summer rolls, and taro slushy are all phenomenal. I go at least once a month. 🤤

If you're looking for a quick bite, healthy food they had my order out in less than 10 min. It's not the best Vietnamese I've had but pretty tasty. Pork was a little dry but had good flavor. Didn't like that they put my food in a Togo container when I was dining in but that's a first world problem 🤷‍♀️ overall happy with the quick service

The food is very delicious! We got their noodle bowl, banh mi and boba tea. Banh mi is definitely one of the best I've had in years! Their bread is soft and slightly crunchy and the sandwich has so much flavor. Their noodle bowl was also delicious, they pack it with meat but It also has vegetables. I got their coffee boba, it's good but not great to be honest. I would definitely come back to try a different boba and eat again!

Soooo good! I’m a bit obsessed. The ingredients are fresh and it’s very clean inside. I usually order online and my order is always ready when I get there. The service is friendly! I’ve tried their teas, and I like that they allow you to adjust the sugar. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a banh mi fix! My favs are the chicken & beef.

Today was our first time here and the guy at the register was so patient and kind while explaining the menu and how to order. We got two different vermicelli bowls and oh my gosh they were both so very good! Especially the sweet and spicy pork belly! Don't forget to add fried eggs too! Our matcha milk slushy and Thai teas with Boba were to die for! I will definitely be back!

Yummy food! We’ve had the bowls with rice and noodles which were full of fresh veggies. We had the sandwiches for the first time today and the bread was incredible. The sauce is really good too. When on Potranco we make sure to stop by for a delicious meal. The staff is always super friendly!

Got the boba for my kids that are updit. Did you taste like in some milk-based? I got the sandwich. I guess I would recommend not to get the House spread it was not for me but others may be alright place

This place is really enjoyable. The bowls are tasty. However the downside to this place is that it is really expensive. One double meat bowl with a Boba milk shake will come out to $25. To add bacon and avacado , it is $1 each, and all they give you are like 4 tiny slices of avacado and 2 small strips of bacon in your bowl. It is crazy!

First time here and before the lunch rush (11:45) Questions were answered quickly and professionally. I opted for the sweet and spicy pork belly bánh mi sandwich with all the standard fixings; which was pretty large. Service was prompt. The bread was perfectly toasted and the fixings were perfectly distributed for each bite. I also grabbed a strawberry slush with some boba which was very refreshing. The lunch crowd started forming shortly after. Would definitely eat here again.

Been coming to dr bahn mi since they opened. They have since expanded their menu and everything is so delicious! Such a welcome change to the same old fast food places and Mexican tacos. I’m a customer for life !

The banh mi and spring rolls are legit! Had the grilled pork banh mi and it was delicious. Definitely coming back to try the other proteins. They also have salad bowls, rice bowls, and vermicelli bowls that all looked amazing.

Dr. Banh Mi, beyond amazing Bahn Mi and Summer Rolls. No complicated Cheesecake Factory Menu. They do Bahn Mi and Summer Rolls will! The Bahn Mi tasted like Pho in a sandwich. And the bread, was wow, soft with thin crunchy crust, doesn't tear up your mouth. Definitely would come back and totally recommend to all my friends and everyone in here.

The food is great it's fresh the banh mi is worth the money I got the coconut slushy and the taro and both did not disappoint. They have punch cards too ! The atmosphere Its nice but the lighting at night felt like a hospital....I think if they used warm white it wouldve been better but the food is top notch

Tried it for the first time the other day ....... friendly staff .....extremely fresh .....the bread was awesome, crispy outside and soft inside .....we tried several items plus drinks and it was all tasty ..... they have vegetarian options which is awesome !!! ....: definitely going back 🎉

The food was delicious and plenty of boba drinks to choose from. They brought food to our table even though I think they just gotta call our name. Very clean area too. I will come back for the sandwiches for sure.

The first time I ate here, it was good, so l tried it today, and I was not satisfied with the results. They gave me no hardly any chicken and bland-tasting rice noodles. It didn't taste the same as before. My Son bought a bowl earlier today (made by someone else), and it was good. Consistency seems to be the problem.

Food has excellent portion size for the cost and it is really tasty too. Inside is really clean which makes it a pretty relaxing atmosphere.

Great and simple Vietnamese food. All the menus are clear and they have a buy 10, get one free stamp program. One menu for drinks and one for food. Portions are perfect with vegetarian/vegan options. Order straight at their website or use one of the 3 linked delivery services (Uber Eats, Doordash, EZcater). Food prep is fast like Chipotle because they have all the food items freshly prepared and ready for your order. Seating and dine in is clean and good amount of seating that includes tables and high tops.

You want to know why I posted a picture of an empty wrapper? Because it’s that damn good. I swear they put they soul in these sandwiches! The bread was phenomenal, crispy on the outside. (We did the knock test) if you know you know. The inside was soft like grandmas kisses. The grilled pork was seasoned to perfection. And the drinks! Let me tell you right now, it was bussin. Period

Visited Dr. Banh Mi for lunch while visiting San Antonio. Everything was absolutely delicious! Staff was friendly and the place was clean with enough seating for large groups and families. We had both the banh mi sandwiches and vermicelli bowls. The pork is extremely flavorful and portion size was perfect for lunch or dinner…they’re very generous with the protein. The drinks were great as well. I learned that they make their own bread and cook everything fresh each day. Will definitely visit again next time I go back to SA!

Very fresh ingredients and lovely flavors. My order is the Thai mango green tea smoothie with boba and the special combination banh mi, so it's ultra-fresh, and the pickled vegetables they use are delicious I highly recommend this place. They have many more different food to choose. Prices are very affordable and really fresh. Their freshly made bread and fresh ingredients are perfect. And the staff is very friendly and nicest. The restaurant Dr. Banh Mi is clean.!

We ended up finding this restaurant due to our son having a tournament in the area. It was so good. The lady helped us with the menu and seriously it was good but couldn’t take leftovers (due to not going home), serving sizes are good. The atmosphere was relaxing. They greeted us when we arrived and left. Would definitely go back..

I came here after finding out it was not, in fact, a doctor's office. This place was excellent. I highly suggest the grilled pork banh mi sandwich and Thai tea with boba. Also, the chicken vermicelli with soy sauce was amazing! Thank for the amazing service, food and clean environment! I look forward to coming back.

My new favorite Vietnamese restaurant! Food was fresh and drinks were delicious. I loved the wall mural and the atmosphere of the restaurant. It looks so beautiful when you walk in! I was also pleasantly surprised by the portions. More than worth it!! I also loved the rice bowls and spring rolls, I’ll be coming back to try everything else soon.

The servers and cashier were very very nice. My biggest compliment is my mom is disabled, and the workers were very helpful and sweet to her. The food was really good. You can tell it is fresh. I am vegan, and they had great vegan options. Normally I don’t like tofu, but their tofu is glazed really well. It was very tasty. I can’t wait to go back!

Not impressed at all. It’s ok if you don’t know anything about Vietnamese food. It’s almost like a knock off fast food chain for Vietnamese food. Very lacking. I got the garlic beef bahn mi. I was amazed at how bland it tasted even with the “house made pate”. The pate is supposed to be packed with flavor but this one wasn’t and was gritty in texture. The daicon and carrots on the sandwich were soggy. We ordered spring rolls and they used spring mix in them. We had to pay extra to add shrimp to them. If you’re going to name your establishment “Dr. Bahn Mi” make sure you’re the leader in your area and that you deliver in flavor, quality and freshness. Don’t just name it that because you are an Optometrist on the side. Sad to say this place gave off high hopes and expectations but under delivered. The bowls might be worth trying but given its the same ingredients as the bahn mis, I don’t care to try them. The bowl portion is small compared to actual Vietnamese restaurants with heart, full of flavor, freshness and quality. Not a fan.

This place is phenomenal. I had the sesame chicken bowl and it was all cooked great and the ingredients were so fresh. The chocolate boba is amazing, and the cookies and cream one is the best I’ve ever had. This place is also immaculately clean, and the atmosphere is airy and bright. I will definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back and try more things here!

Excellent service. Freshly made healthy food. If you’re looking for something more healthy and fresh, then head over to Dr. Banh Mi. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The food is tasty and fresh made to order. My favorites are the spring rolls and garlic beef vermicelli bowls with an extra fish sauce so I can add just a little bit more to my bowl. The bowls are a generous helping so you won’t ever be hungry afterwards. I liked that the peanuts are now crushed and add that really great taste and peanut crunch to the bowl. On my latest order, they forgot to put my peanut sauce for my spring rolls in my bag. I called to see if I could pick up the peanut sauce, and the owner was very apologetic and was happy get me another one. Even thou this was a small mistake; speaking to the owner made me feel like a valued customer. And he was willing to make it right for me. Such caring and excellent customer service. I wish I could remember to take a picture of my food before I eat it all, but it’s so good I always forget! :D See for yourself just how great Dr. Banh Mi really is!

Really great, fresh food. We ordered the sesame chicken sandwich, garlic grilled beef vermicelli bowl, and the spring rolls. Everything was delicious, and freshly made. Next time I’ll need to get an extra container of the fish sauce to go with the bowl. I could’ve used a little more of the fish sauce. The only things I didn’t quite love was the whole peanuts in the bowl. I prefer crushed finely chopped peanuts to the whole peanut. And I think the peanut sauce for the spring rolls wasn’t as good as what I’ve had from other places. But other than that, generous helpings and really great, fresh food. I would definitely go back again.

Excellent bahn mi. Fresh ingredients and bread. On par with some the best I've had in Texas in other cities like Houston or Dallas, and probably the one of the best you can get in San Antonio right now.

There was a longer than expected wait time. However, it was very much worth the wait. The staff was kind and gifted me extra grilled pork on the house due to the wait time. Everything was fresh and the bread had a nice crunch. The sauce and the meat are flavorful. I got a boba matcha slushy. I love the taste of their matcha. I prefer larger bobas but everything else was phenomenal. This is my favorite restaurant I have tried of 2023 so far. I hope they plan to expand to the UTSA area.

Giving this place a 3 star for now hoping to give 4-5 next time. The vermicelli noodle bowl with pork was okay. Something seemed to be missing but I can’t pinpoint it. Our taro drink was good. I’ve been eating Vietnamese food all my life and enjoyed it from many different states so I’m pretty familiar. My only problem is the sandwich. I got the chicken and it’s a mushy texture. Way too soggy when you’re eating it. Everything else with the veggies is fine. But the chicken is so soggy it grosses me out. I’ve never had a chicken banh mi this way. Usually it’s grilled and delicious. Not soggy and mushy. You can see in the pics, all the extra sauce that makes it that weird texture just oozes out. :( I hope management fixes this issue. My family and friends thought the same thing so won’t be going in for that anymore. Will possibly try a different protein another day.☹️

It was amazing, the food was so good. My daughter loved her boba and food and she is very picky. The place was very clean and relaxing. No loud music so you can hear your conversation. The lady at the counter was very nice and last but not least they offer military discount.

Banh mi was good, but a little small for the price. The Thai tea and horchata were both okay, but something was off about the taste. Probably wouldn't get them again.
