I wish I could give a real review, but the manager closed the register an hour before closing, so I didn't get to try the food. Wait staff seemed pretty standard, willing to try to work with me, but I don't carry cash, and they couldn't open the register. If you want to try them, go for peak hours, or bring cash.

My familiy and I have dined here numerous times. We dined here last Friday and had two to go orders for my disabled father in law. Both orders wete missing the hashbrowns. Called the restaurant was promised a gift certificate. When I received it, it was less than what was promised. Spent over $100 that evening for a very disapointing experience. Don't know if we will be back.

Waitress was very responsive to special request.

Simple and enjoyable meals, service, and desserts. Their German Burger with fries is a break from the routine. They have a peanutbutter silk pie that's amazing. The wait staff treat you better than family!

Possibly the best restaurant experience ever. Seriously. I was basically stranded a long way from home, and the owner helped me get my water damaged phone working again and charged. Simply a great guy. The food was excellent and the prices were great. Half the price of what I'd pay in Milwaukee. The chicken dumpling soup was fresh and home made and delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy and salty. The burger was perfectly cooked. My server was super friendly and helpful, and happened to be very pretty too. Awesome woman. Definitely eat here.

6-10-24 My mother and I were so impressed with our server, Darrin. He was so polite, attentive and checked on us multiple times during our meal continually to ask how everything was and if there was any else he could get. He was an amazing server and I made sure to let him and his manager know before I left. His manager asked that I write a review so he could get a promotion. He definitely deserves one. Also, the food was delicious! We'll be back.

Wow first the staff is great! The food is delicious plus you get huge (and I mean huge) servings so you will need a to go container! Lol 😆. The prices are low too. Atmosphere is friendly with locals and travelers. Perfect place to stop while traveling hwy 29, and they have a pull the little rubber ducks game in entrance if you want to have fun!

I ordered the variety appetizer. It was delicious. Arrived nice and hot with 2 dipping sauces of my choice. The waitress was very friendly and quick.

The food was horrible biscuits and gravy taste and texture of the tube biscuits were not from scratch wife had gyros salad meat was tasteless, lettuce wilted tomatoes over ripe and boiled eggs old tasting green and we had dirty silverware we wouldn't eat there again we were traveling through the state and stopped by for lunch and we're disappointed 😑

I'm an over-the-road truck driver and I've been to many restaurants and truck stops but let me tell you this one is the best! For starters there's free overnight parking with plenty of room out back for your big rig. The restrooms are spotless and so is the rest of the restaurant. I came in close to closing and ordered the combo platter starter, ribeye special with mashed potatoes w/gravy, mixed veggies and chicken dumpling soup. My meal was cooked to perfection and brought out quickly. The chicken dumpling soup was amazing, such great flavor! My compliments to the chef and the rest of the staff. I can't wait for my next visit.

Stopped here on my way to delivery. They had really good reviews, and it was close to my drop. I had a day to waste. Shower was clean, people were friendly, and while I was waiting for food I met the owner. Very friendly guy. Gave me free soup and drink while I was waiting. The reviews are right. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Kloie was hands down the best server I’ve ever had, she was very kind., the chicken dumpling was very good(should be famous). The burgers were cooked perfectly and they have the best fries around. Will definitely be returning

Didn't like the way one of the waiters gave attitude to my husband because it was 8:23pm, and every time I was ordering she was saying "for to go" meaning " I don't want you here"

The girlfriend and I were just at Edgar family restaurant we both were more than pleased with Ashley and Urims service they were both fantastic. Ashley kept asking us if there was anything else we needed and kept checking up on us, I felt very welcomed at the restaurant today also, the food was overall amazing I highly recommend Edgar Family Restaurant as a good place to eat! It's a common diner at a Hy 29 exit. Plenty of seating. Bright, clean and spacious. Usual diner menu. All food is good. Their chicken dumpling soup is a specialty. Wait staff is prompt and courteous. I drive that route once a week, and stop when I need comfort food.

This restaurant is a local landmark. It had always been known to have the best food fastest service and best waitresses in the area. The food is exelent and the portions are larger than any place around with excellent quality. If you are anywhere near the place ypu would never regret visiting the restaurant for a dinner date or family outing.

It was really busy but sounds like this is normal for a Friday. We could see why. They were so good about finding us a booth. Their specials were good and tasty. And we had the clam chowder- excellent! So if you're traveling on Hwy 29 near Wausau, take a stop in.

We stop here every year for breakfast on way yo family Christmas and it's an amazing restaurant, great service, great food and very comfortable.

Dinner was good. We had the special chicken kabobs and a rueban, also a piece of the delicious Elvis pie. We will be making this place 1 of our new go to spots.

Shoekray was my waiter, and that young man was very attentive to detail. The food was very good, I had ribs, fries, salad, and potatoe soup. I'm a trucker and live close but I hv to drop out here in the morning, nice to find this place it made it just okay that I didn't make it home, u know nothing beets my wife's cooking
